  • Recently, the Arctic has been exposed to snow-covered land due to melting permafrost every year, and the Korea Geographic Information Institute(NGII) provides polar spatial information service by establishing spatial information of the polar region. However, there is a lack of spatial information on vegetation sensitive to climate change. This research used a multi-temporal Sentinel-2 image to perform land cover classification of the Ny-Ålesund in Arctic Svalbard. In the pre-processing step, 10 bands and 6 vegetation spectral index were generated from multi-temporal Sentinel-2 images. In image-classification step is consisted of extracting the vegetation area through 8-class land cover classification and performing the vegetation species classification. The image classification algorithm used Random Forest to evaluate the accuracy and calculate feature importance through Out-Of-Bag(OOB). To identify the advantages of multi- temporary Sentinel-2 for vegetation classification, the overall accuracy was compared according to the number of images stacked and vegetation spectral index. Overall accuracy was 77% when using single-time Sentinel-2 images, but improved to 81% when using multi-time Sentinel-2 images. In addition, the overall accuracy improved to about 83% in learning when the vegetation index was used additionally. The most important spectral variables to distinguish between vegetation classes are located in the Red, Green, and short wave infrared-1(SWIR1). This research can be used as a basic study that optimizes input characteristics in performing the classification of vegetation in the polar regions.

  • This study employees a supervised learning prediction model to detect nonconformity in advance of processed food manufacturing and processing businesses. The study was conducted according to the standard procedure of machine learning, such as definition of objective function, data preprocessing and feature engineering and model selection and evaluation. The dependent variable was set as the number of supervised inspection detections over the past five years from 2014 to 2018, and the objective function was to maximize the probability of detecting the nonconforming companies. The data was preprocessed by reflecting not only basic attributes such as revenues, operating duration, number of employees, but also the inspections track records and extraneous climate data. After applying the feature variable extraction method, the machine learning algorithm was applied to the data by deriving the company's risk, item risk, environmental risk, and past violation history as feature variables that affect the determination of nonconformity. The f1-score of the decision tree, one of ensemble models, was much higher than those of other models. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that the official food control for food safety management will be enhanced and geared into the data-evidence based management as well as scientific administrative system.

  • For extrusion processes in the process industry, the need to build smart factories is increasing. However, in most extrusion production sites, the production method is continuous, and because the properties of the data are undeed, it is difficult to process the data. In order to solve this problem, we present a methodology utilizing a near field communication (NFC) sensor rather than water-based data entry. To this end, a wireless network environment was built, and a data management method was designed. A non-contact NFC method was studied for the production performance-data input method, and an analysis method was implemented using the pivot function of the Excel program. As a result, data input using NFC was automated, obtaining a quantitative effect from reducing the operator's data processing time. In addition, using the input data, we present a case where a bottleneck is improved due to quality problems.

  • With the available national spatial information that started from the sinkholes that occurred nationwide in 2014 and integrated 15 areas of underground information, the Underground Spatial Integrated Map has been continuously maintained since 2015. However, until recently, as disasters and accidents in underground spaces such as hot water pipes rupture, cable tunnel fires, and ground subsidence continue to occur, there is an increasing demand for quality improvement of underground information. Thus, this paper attempted to prepare a plan to improve the quality of the Underground Spatial Integrated Map data. In particular, among the 15 types of underground information managed through the Underground Spatial Integrated Map, quality validation improvement measures were proposed for underground facility (structure-type) data, which has the highest proportion of new constructions. To improve the current inspection methods that primarily rely on visual inspection, we elaborate on and subdivide the current quality inspection standards. Specifically, we present an approach for software-based automated inspection of databases, including graphics and attribute information, by adding three quality inspection items, namely, quality inspection methods, rules, and flow diagram, solvable error types, to the current four quality inspection items consisting of quality elements, sub-elements, detailed sub-elements, and quality inspection standards.

  • Industrial control systems that manage and maintain various industries were mainly operated in closed environment without external connection, but with the recent development of the Internet and the introduction of ICT technology, the access to the industrial control system of external or attackers has become easier. Such incorrect approaches or attacks can undermine the availability, a major attribute of the industrial control system, and violation of availability can cause great damage. In this paper, when issuing commands in an industrial control system, a verification group is formed using a random list to verify and execute commands, and a trust score technique is introduced that applies feedback to the verification group that conducted verification using the command execution result. This technique can reduce overhead generated by random generation in the process of requesting command verification, give flexibility to the verification process, and ensure system availability. For the performance analysis of the system, we measured the time and gas usage when deploying a smart contract, gas usage when verifying a command. As a result, we confirmed that although the proposed system generates a random list compared to the legacy system, there was little difference in the time when it took to deploy smart contract and that the gas used to deploy smart contract increased by about 1.4 times in the process of generating a random list. However, the proposed system does not perform random operations even though the operation of command verification and confidence score technique is performed together during the command verification process, thus it uses about 9% less gas per verification, which ensures availability in the verification process.

  • An integrated underground spatial map consists of underground facilities, underground structures, and ground information, and is periodically updated. In this paper, we design and implement a system for detecting and extracting only changed ground objects to shorten the map update speed. To find the changed objects, all the objects are compared, which are included in the newly input map and the reference map in the integrated map. Since the entire process of comparing objects and generating results is classified by function, the implemented system is composed of several modules such as object comparer, changed object detector, history data manager, changed object extractor, changed type classifier, and changed object saver. We use two metrics: detection rate and extraction rate, to evaluate the performance of the system. As a result of applying the system to boreholes, ground wells, soil layers, and rock floors in Pyeongtaek, 100% of inserted, deleted, and updated objects in each layer are detected. In addition, it provides the advantage of ensuring the up-to-dateness of the reference map by downloading it whenever maps are compared. In the future, additional research is needed to confirm the stability and effectiveness of the developed system using various data to apply it to the field.

  • Quality is an important factor influencing organizational performance, so it should be possible to accurately and effectively measure the quality perceived by members. The Consumer Cooperative can be seen as a retail industry by industry classification, and there are various studies based on the dimension of retail quality, but compared to the general retail industry, few studies have been conducted based on the quality level perceived by members. The purpose of this study is to develop quality dimensions and sub-attributes by analyzing in detail and elaborately how the quality of cooperative is viewed from the perspective of members who are both consumers and owners. To this end, the quality dimension of cooperative quality is needed to be newly developed and quality components are demonstrated based on previous studies on the quality dimension. The quality dimension of the cooperative was developed through prior research to suit the value of the cooperative in product, service, and social responsibility, and a survey was conducted to demonstrate the four major cooperative members in Korea. Through this, sub-dimensions were constructed and the quality dimension of the high-order model was demonstrated through exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. It aims to discover key management elements in terms of quality management and provide practical implications to management.
