흡배기 관내의 비정상 유동을 고려한 4사이클, 4기통 전기.점화 기관의 성능 예측에 관한 연구 (A study on the performance prediction of 4 cycle 4 cylinder S.I. engine considering the unsteady flow in the intake and exhaust pipes)

  • In this study, the analytic investigation of the unsteady flow in the intake and exhaust pipes has been carried out using the method of characteristics in one direction to predict volumetric efficiency. Based on the calculated volumetric efficiency, three zone predictive analysis using Wiebe function was applied to predict the engine performance and the results were compared with experiment. Mixture in the cylinder is subdivided into three zones during combustion process in this analysis; adiabatic core zone, thermal boundary layer zone and unburned zone. In each zone, pressure, temperature and gas composition have been calculated. In conclusion, it is possible to take account of the intake and exhaust pipe tuning effect in predicting the engine performance, by the analytic solution of the unsteady flow in the pipes, and comparison of prediction with experimental results shows a good agreement on the pressure variation in the intake and exhaust pipes which has a direct influence on the volumetric efficiency and performance of the engine.

원관내 맥동유동의 열전달에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Heat Transfer in the Pulsating Pipe Flow)

  • An experimental result for heat transfer of pulsating turbulent pipe flow was presented under the condition of fully developed dynamic regime and uniform wall heat flux. Experiments were performed at following conditions ; Inlet time-averaged Reynolds number varied from 5000 to 11000; The peak pressure fluctuation were 1.3, 2.3 and 3.5 percent of the mean pressure; Pulsating frequency ranged from 53 Hz to 320 Hz The measurements showed that the effect of pulsation on local heat transfer is greater at downstream, in which pulsating source exists, than upstream and the heat transfer rate, averaged over the pipe length, was higher or lower than in an equivalent non-pulsating flow according to the pulsating conditions. In addition, the significant change of heat transfer rate was observed in acoustically resonant conditions, when the pulsating frequency of the flow corresponded to the pipe natural frequency.

거친외벽면을 가진 동심환형관내에서 완전히 발달된 유동의 난류구조 (Structure of turbulence of fully developed flow in concentric annuli with rough outer wall)

  • For roughened annular pipes with diameter ratios of 0.26, 0.39, and 0.56 and with Reynolds numbers ranging 13,000 to 67,000, friction factor, autocorrelation coefficients, power spectral density functions, and integral length scales for each flow condition using X-type hot wire anemometry system are experimentally investigated. Distributions of these quantities show that the times which the streamwise autocorrelation coefficients become zero first increase with decreasing the radius ratios of concentric annuli and Reynolds numbers, however the power spectra density functions increase with increasing the radius ratios and Reynolds number.

  • 일반적으로 물체의 거동을 해석하기 위해 고체영역에서는 Lagrangian 기법이 유체영역에서는 Eulerian 기법이 수치해석에 적용된다. Lagranian 기법은 서로 다른 물질의 경계와 자유표면에 대한 거동을 쉽게 추적할 수 있는 반면 물체의 대변형시 해석의 정확성이 떨어지는 단점이 있다. 또한 Eulerian 기법은 물질이동만을 고려하여 변형의 제한이 없는 장점을 가지고 있지만 이동하는 경계에 대해서 조건을 변화 시켜야하는 어려움이 있다. 따라서 이 두기법의 장단점을 서로 보안하기 위해 ALE(Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian)기법이 제안되었으며 이를 적용한 유체-구조물의 상호작용 해석에 대하여 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 ALE기법을 이용한 자유경계면에 대한 새로운 알고리즘이 제안된다.

원관내 난류의 저항감소현상에 대한 수치해석 (Numerical analysis of drag reduction of turbulent flow in a pipe)

  • A modified low-Re $k-\varepsilon$ model is used for the calculation of drag-reducing turbulent flow by polymer injection in a pipe. With the viscoelastic model, molecular viscosity in the definition of turbulent viscosity is related to elongations viscosity of the solution to account for the effects of drag reduction. Finite volume method is used for the discretization, and power-law scheme is used as a numerical scheme. Computed dimensionless velocity profiles are in good agreements with the experimental data in case of low drag reductions. However, in case of high drag reductions, they deviate largely from the measurements in the central zone of the flow field.

  • 한수관내 침전물의 퇴적을 방지하기 위하여는 최저유속과 에너지경사, 관경을 산정하여 제시하여야 되는데 이들 수치를 바로 결정하는 양해법 산정식들을 개발하였다. 이를 위하여 토사의 임계전단력과 상용관 마찰계수 산정을 위하여 지수형 산정식들을 도입하였으며, 이들 지수형 산정식들은 기존 실험관측자료를 이용하여 개발되었다. 제시된 수치들의 적합성을 판별하기 위하여 여러 예들을 본 연구에서 개발된 산정식들을 적용하여 검토하였다.

  • Computer simulation and magnetic resonance angiograms(MRAs) are used to understand for flow patterns in the carotid arterial bifurcation. Steady momentum equation is solved by the finite volume method. A Phantom of the carotid artery made of bioacrylic material is used for MRA observation. Flow Patterns are observed by using MRA for flow in the phantom of an automatic closed-type circulatory system filled with sugar 4 w% solution. For numerical analysis the idealized geometric shape of the carotid artery is constructed to portray the phantom. Results of numerical analysis are compared with those of MRA. The flow patterns of the phantom on MRA are almost identical to those of the computer simulation.

  • Experimental studies on the characteristics of ice slurry flows in a circular pipe is rare due to the deficiency of conventional measurement techniques. In this report the flow characteristics are quantitatively investigated by the use of PIV technique concerning the Ice Packing Factor(IPF) and the power changes of pump motor It was experimentally verified that the power loss does not increase any more at a certain IPF value.

  • The motion of a fluid in the closed annular cavity formed by two concentric vertical cylinders with externally finned tube has been analysed by a numerical solutions of the equation of momentum and energy. For the calculation procedure, the fluid is assumed to have constant thermo-dynamic and transporties except for the density, which is temperature-dependent in the buoyancy term of the vertical momentum equation (Boussinesq approximation). The govern ins equations for velocity and temperature are solved by a finite difference technique which incoorporates a scheme for treating the coupled variables. Results are presented for a range of the Rayleigh number and for various values of the fin height and the number of fins.
