This study is focused on finding out how Mers affects tourism industry. To achieve the study purpose we analyzed the differences of management performance of hotels, travel agencies and airlines before and after Mers occurrence. As the result of analysis, there were significant differences in the variables of profit margin ratio before income taxes and operating profit ratio as a profit index before and after Mers occurrence in the hotel firms. And in case of travel agencies, there were significant differences in the variables of debt to equity ratio and borrowings dependence ratio as a stability index before and after Mers occurrence. Lastly there were significant differences in the variables of operating profit ratio as a profit index and total assets turnover ratio as an activity index before and after Mers occurrence in the airlines. Therefore the managers should find an way to reduce the negative image of plague through the effective marketing strategy.
The COVID-19 outbreak in 2020 caused continuous damage worldwode, especially the smart tourism industry was hit directly by the blockade of sky roads and restriction of going out. At a time when overseas travel and domestic travel have decreased significantly, the number of tourist hotels that are colsed and closed due to the continued deficit is increasing. Therefore, in this study, licensing data from the Ministry of Public Administraion and Security were collected and visualized to understand the operation status of the tourism and lodging industry. The machine learning classification algorithm was applied to implement the business status prediction model of the tourist hotel, the performance of the prediction model was optimized using the ensemble algorithm, and the performance of the model was evaluated through 5-Fold cross-validation. It was predicted that the survival rate of tourist hotels would decrease somewhat, but the actual survival rate was analyzed to be no different from before COVID-19. Through the prediction of the business status of the hotel industry in this paper, it can be used as a basis for grasping the operability and development trends of the entire tourism and lodging industry.

This research empirically analyzed the factors associated with the energy consumption of tourism hotels in Busan, Ulsan, and the Kyoungnam region of Korea based on their individual and locational characteristics. The study adopted a comprehensive modeling approach involving multi-level regression analyses that allowed for improved accuracy by considering the hierarchical structures of the hotels and their locational characteristics. The results indicated that the majority of energy consumption can be explained by the hotels'individual characteristics, including the size of building structure and the services, while their effects vary by region with statistical significance. Furthermore, the proximity to central commercial districts and hotel clusters had a significant influence on the variability in their energy consumption, indicating that locational factors are also important determinants. The findings here suggest the need for regional energy policies and solutions at various urban scales along with conventional energy policies at the building level and highlight regional responsibilities when attempting to create sustainable tourism industries.

This study explores the determinants of capital structure of the hospitality industry such as hotels, lodging industry and tourism industry using financial data from 2000 to 2019. Several explanatory variables suggested by related theories and past studies were regressed with the dependent variable, debt ratio for the entire sample period, pre-crisis period and post-crisis period and the regression coefficients of the sales expenses, profitability and firm size were found to be statistically significantly negative. Especially the sign of the coefficient of the firm size was opposite to that of the manufacturing industry, which implies the uniqueness of the hospitality industry.
The introduction of Smart technologies such as Artificial Intelligence(AI) systems are have a powerful impact in a variety of industry fields. Some experts predict that smart technology will completely change people's daily life and work styles, causing technological innovation, productivity improvement, and discovery and emergence of new fields. On the one hand, this vision cannot ignore negative views and concerns. Despite many social debates about employment, such as job loss and rising unemployment, there have not been many studies based on employee experience that provide a fundamental solution to the conflict between AI and employment. Therefore, this study finds out the effects and related factors of AI concierge robots for hotel employees, focusing on the hotel industry, and how employees' perceptions of AI concierge robots affect user resistance and turnover intention. This study, conducted a questionnaire survey of 322 hotel employees who had experience working with AI concierge robots in China, and used SPSS and SmartPLS statistical analysis programs to draw conclusions. We found that hotel employees' perceptions of AI concierge robots were significantly related to user resistance and turnover intention, and this association was related to employee self-efficacy, perceived organizational support, quality of AI services and new tasks. In addition, it was found that the quality of AI concierge robots directly or indirectly had the greatest influence on user resistance and turnover intention. The findings of this study provide theoretical implications for academia and practical implications for industry practitioners.

In this study, a total of two hypotheses were established and tested to find out how entrepreneurship in manufacturing SMEs affects organizational effectiveness through technological innovation. The key results of this paper are as follows. First, it was confirmed that innovativeness, a component of entrepreneurship, did not affect organizational commitment, but it did affect job satisfaction. On the other hand, it was confirmed that proactiveness and risk-taking did not affect both job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Second, process innovation played a mediating role in the relationship between innovativeness and job satisfaction, proactiveness and job satisfaction, and proactiveness and organizational commitment. However, it was confirmed that product innovation did not play a mediating role at all in the relationship between the components of entrepreneurship and the components of organizational effectiveness. This study provided academic and practical implications by identifying the antecedent factors that affect the organizational effectiveness of manufacturing SMEs. From an academic point of view, previous studies did not differentiate by industry or mainly selected and studied sample subjects from industries such as IT, hotel, service, and tourism. However, this study investigated how entrepreneurship affects organizational effectiveness through technological innovation targeting manufacturing SMEs, and provides the research results. In addition, from a practical point of view, manufacturing SMEs need to make efforts to improve workers' proactiveness, innovativeness, and process innovation capabilities in order to improve workers' job satisfaction and organizational commitment.
