The Effect of Awareness of Service Quality in Tourist Destinations on Tourist Satisfaction - To use the Quality of Service of a Guide as a Parameter - (관광지 서비스 품질 의식이 관광객 만족에 미치는 영향 -가이드의 서비스 품질을 매개변수로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the influence of service quality perception of scenic spots on tourists' satisfaction, and analyze the intermediary role of tour guide explanation quality in it. Questionnaire survey was conducted among tourists and tour guides in six scenic spots in Qingdao, China. The time is from March 1 to April 1, 2024, a total of 502 questionnaires were distributed, and finally 384 valid questionnaires were screened out, data samples were collected. After that, the reliability and validity of the data were tested, correlation analysis and regression analysis by using statistical software SPSS 26.0. The results show that there is a significant positive correlation between the perception of service quality in scenic spots and tourists satisfaction, and the professionalism, interactivity and environmental facilities of scenic spots directly affect the overall satisfaction of tourists. The quality of tour guide explanation plays an intermediary role, and high-quality explanation can significantly improve the satisfaction of tourists. Therefore, in order to effectively improve tourists satisfaction, scenic spot managers should not only pay attention to and improve infrastructure and service quality, but also pay attention to the training and guidance of tour guides to improve their professional level and service quality.

A Research on the Cabin Service Quality Factors in a National Carrier affecting Overseas Tourist's Experience and Satisfactiont (여객의 해외여행 관광지 관광체험과 관광만족에 영향을 미치는 국적항공사 객실서비스 품질 요인 연구)

  • This study analyzed empirically the effects of the perception of outbound passengers, who flew from Korea to overseas tourist destinations, on the cabin service quality, tourist experience, and tourist satisfaction. For empirical analysis, a survey was given to Korean passengers using a national carrier of South Korea. Based on empirical analysis, the researchers judged that the analysis results and implications could be applied to inbound foreign passengers who visited Korea for the tourism purposes if researchers generated significant results from empirical analysis. This paper designed a research model that represented the meaningful relationship among, airline cabin-service quality, tourist experience, and tourist satisfaction following preceding research. According to the analysis, that factors that consisted of the cabin service quality had a significant effect on the tourist satisfaction with a mediating effect of both the cognitive and emotional tourist experience. Therefore, the perception on airline's cabin service quality of the national carrier would be a starting point that can help improve the tourist satisfaction.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between service quality, service value, customer satisfaction and destination association. Based on previous studies, hypotheses and research models were derived and surveyed. The analysis was conducted using 406 valid questionnaires. The study results are as follows. The physical environment and the food quality of the tourist restaurant service quality affected service value. Employee service and food quality affected satisfaction. Service value affected satisfaction. The value of service affected the association of sightseeing destination. Nevertheless satisfaction did not affect the association of sightseeing spots. Based on these study results, the following implications are suggested. Restaurant management should prioritize food quality control. Local governments need support the improvement of the physical environment. A local menu that is reminiscent of tourist attractions should be developed.

Understanding the Perceptions and Service Quality of Korean Foods : A Comparative Cross-cultural Study of International Tourists Visiting Korea (한국음식에 대한 인식과 서비스품질의 차이 : 방한 외국인 관광객 비교문화연구)

  • This study examines international tourists 'perceived images and service quality of Korean foods. A survey was conducted to international tourists(Chinese, Japanese, American) visiting Korea. The results of study show that there is a significant difference in several attributes of Korean traditional foods as perceived by international tourists along their nationality. Particularly, American tourists tend to highly evaluate Korean foods as ones good for health. The perceived attractiveness of Korean foods in terms of color and shape is higher for Chinese and Americans than Japanese. A distinct difference is also found in the importance and performance attributes of perceived quality of Korean foods by the nationality of tourists. The results of IPA for the perceived quality of Korean traditional foods show that the restaurant facility and atmosphere are identified as the ones that need to be improved across all the tourists.

The Impact of Negative Events Exposure on Social Media on Destination Image and Behavioral Intentions: Focusing on the Moderating Effect of Relationship Quality (관광목적지에서 부정적인 사건의 SNS노출이 관광지 이미지와 행동의도에 미치는 영향: 관계품질의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand how the image of a tourist destination perceived by potential tourists, who indirectly experience negative incidents through social media, affects their behavioral intentions. Based on the Theory of Planned Behavior, the relationship between image and behavioral intention is explained through attitudes toward the destination, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. Furthermore, the study analyzes whether the quality of the relationship with the tourist destination perceived by potential tourists moderates the relationship between the image of the destination and attitudes toward it when exposed to negative incidents. A scenario-based survey was conducted with 256 potential Chinese tourists. The results showed that the overall image of the destination had a positive effect (+) on attitudes toward the destination, subjective norms, and perceived control. In turn, attitudes toward the destination, subjective norms, and perceived control all positively (+) influenced behavioral intentions. Lastly, the moderating effect of relationship quality between overall image and attitudes toward the destination was verified. The implications of this study suggest that when negative incidents occur at a tourist destination, negative images can be perceived. Therefore, local governments should ensure thorough inspections and enforcement regarding pricing, services, and illegal operations to prevent such occurrences. Additionally, destination marketers should strive to enhance marketing management and promotion efforts, particularly working to establish positive relationship quality with tourists who have previously visited the destination.

  • Recently, as the healthcare market is globalized, the importance of the information on the Internet has been recognized. In this study, the analysis by research model with hypothesis that benefit sought factors of health tourism have a positive effect on behavioral intention of destination selection through tourism brand equity by internet information was carried out. As a result of analysis, benefit sought factors like as health and beauty did not have a positive effect on brand cognition and perceived quality but benefit sought factors like as service and nature had a positive effect on brand cognition and perceived quality. However, benefit sought like as experience did not have a positive effect on brand cognition and perceived quality. And brand equity like as brand cognition and perceived quality had a positive effect on behavioral intention. Thus, according to the results of these hypotheses, policies that foster health tourism in Jeju region will be followed based on product development that considering the importance of the existing service and cognition.

  • The primary purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between service quality, Place attachment and destination loyalty in the local festival field. Sampling was conducted at the Flower Blossom Festival in Juju, 2004. Data were collected through on-site surveys by face-to-face interview for three days-between April 4th and April 6th. Data analyses were carried out by using structural equation model. Two hypotheses were tested to represent the relationships between exogenous and endogenous variables. The exogenous variable selected for this study is service quality Endogenous variables are place attachment and destination loyalty. The findings provided a supported structural model of the relationships between service quality, place attachment and loyalty. Festival visitors who perceive high service quality tend to have high place attachment that leads to the intention to revisit and positive word-of-mouth to others. The results of this study suggest that festival managers need to understand visitors' perception of service quality, place attachment in order to better predict their destination loyalty.

The Effect of Ecotourism Perception on Behavior Intention and Satisfaction of University Students (대학생의 생태관광 인식이 행동의도 및 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the value perception of ecotourism on the behavioral intention and satisfaction of university students. The results of the study are as follows. First, it was found that all ecotourism value recognition factors, such as cognitive value, emotional value, and functional value, had a positive(+) effect on satisfaction. Second, it was found that all ecotourism recognition factors, such as cognitive value, emotional value, and functional value, had a positive(+) effect on behavioral intention. These results show that the higher the awareness of ecotourism is, the higher the satisfaction and behavioral intentions of ecotourism are, but the functional value made up of services, quality, and programs has relatively less influence than other factors. Therefore, various marketing strategies and educational programs such as the development of accessible weekend products and development of sustainable light-emitting products that can respond to each ecotourism value recognition factor that affects the ecotourism product satisfaction and behavior intention should be developed.

  • This study investigated the influence relationship of information service using QR code on customer's service quality perception and loyalty behavior for medical service in the physical environment. As a result of the study, when medical institutions provide location information services about the physical environment by utilizing the usefulness and reliability of QR codes, the perceived quality of customers' QR information will be strengthened, and furthermore, loyalty behavior toward medical services will increase in the future. Considering the spread of smartphones as a popular digital medium today, marketers use QR codes to connect and provide four-dimensional information services without time and place restrictions, thereby strengthening the interactive experience with customers. And these efforts suggest that it can contribute to improving service image and strengthening loyalty beyond simply providing service information to companies.

  • The introduction of Smart technologies such as Artificial Intelligence(AI) systems are have a powerful impact in a variety of industry fields. Some experts predict that smart technology will completely change people's daily life and work styles, causing technological innovation, productivity improvement, and discovery and emergence of new fields. On the one hand, this vision cannot ignore negative views and concerns. Despite many social debates about employment, such as job loss and rising unemployment, there have not been many studies based on employee experience that provide a fundamental solution to the conflict between AI and employment. Therefore, this study finds out the effects and related factors of AI concierge robots for hotel employees, focusing on the hotel industry, and how employees' perceptions of AI concierge robots affect user resistance and turnover intention. This study, conducted a questionnaire survey of 322 hotel employees who had experience working with AI concierge robots in China, and used SPSS and SmartPLS statistical analysis programs to draw conclusions. We found that hotel employees' perceptions of AI concierge robots were significantly related to user resistance and turnover intention, and this association was related to employee self-efficacy, perceived organizational support, quality of AI services and new tasks. In addition, it was found that the quality of AI concierge robots directly or indirectly had the greatest influence on user resistance and turnover intention. The findings of this study provide theoretical implications for academia and practical implications for industry practitioners.
