  • The end bearing behavior of piles socketed in weathered/soft rock is generally dependent upon the rock mass conditions with fractures rather than the strength of intact rock. Therefore, a database which includes 13 load tests performed on cast-in-place concrete piles and soil investigation data at the field test sites was made first, and new empirical relationships between the base reaction modulus of piles in rock and rock mass properties were developed. No correlation was found between the compressive strengths of intact rock and the base reaction modulus of weathered/soft rock. The ground investigation data regarding the rock mass conditions (e.g. Pressuremeter modulus and limit pressure, RMR, RQD) was found to be highly correlated with the base reaction modulus, showing the coefficients of correlation greater than 0.7 in most cases. In addition, the applicability of existing methods for the end bearing capacity of piles in rock was verified by comparison with the field test data.

  • This study examined the effects of social support and life satisfaction on the sustainability of meditation psychological counselors. The subjects were 124 meditation psychological counselors at K city. As an analysis method, frequency, reliability, and correlation analysis were performed using the SPSS 22.0 program, and multiple regression analysis on the causal relationship between variables was conducted. First, information support, a sub-factor of social support, significantly affected sustainability. On the other hand, emotional, material, and evaluation support did not affect sustainability. Second, in the effect of life satisfaction of meditation psychological counselors on sustainability, the overall satisfaction factor, which is a sub-factor of life satisfaction, positively affected sustainability. This means that the higher the information support factor of social support and the overall satisfaction of life satisfaction perceived by the meditation psychological counselor, the higher the sustainability. This study implies that the meditation psychological counselors as human factors will become more important to future society. Quality and role will be more prominent to enhance healthy continuous activities and sustainability. This study provides basic data to improve the sustainability of meditation psychological counselors.

Data were collected from 202 university students attending K university in Jeonbuk province using self-reported questionnaires from April 1 to 30, 2017. The demographic characteristics, self-efficacy, social support and adjustment to university life were analyzed by descriptive statistical analyses. The difference in adjustment to university life by demographic characteristics was analyzed by the t-test and ANOVA with Scheffe's post hoc test, while the correlation between variables was measured using Pearson's Correlation Coefficient. The mediating effects of social support were determined by the 3-step multiple regression method developed by Baron and Kenny, and the statistical significance of the mediating effect was measured using the Sobel test. Social support had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between self-efficacy and adjustment to university life. The results of this study will be useful a basic data for the development of a program to enhance self-efficacy and social support systems.
