A Case Study on segmentation of Department Store using Decision Tree Analysis (의사결정나무 기법을 활용한 백화점의 고객세분화 사례연구)

  • Segmentation, targeting, and positioning are marketing tools used by a company to gain competitive advantage in the market. For an accurate segmentation, various statistics models or datamining techniques are used. Especially, datamining techniques are introduced in the beginning of the 1980s and solved several marketing problems effectively. In this paper, we research about datamining technique for segmentation and analyze customer's transaction data of Department Store using Decision Tree Analysis, one of the dataming technique. After that, we discuss effects and advantages of segmentation using Decision Tree.

  • 창의성이 강조되는 시대에 영재 교육의 중요성은 점차 높아지고 있다. 그러나 정보 영재를 위한 연구는 수학이나 과학 영재에 비해 미미한 수준이며, 특히 초등 정보영재를 위한 프로그래밍 교육은 창의적 알고리즘을 개발하는 능력을 기르는 것보다 학습자의 수준에 맞지 않는 특정 프로그래밍 언어의 사용법이나 문법 위주의 교육에 치중하고 있다는 우려의 목소리가 높았다. 이에 본 논문에서는 초등 정보영재의 알고리즘적 사고력을 향상시키기 위한 실생활 중심의 컨텐츠를 제안하고자 한다. 초등학생의 생활과 밀접하게 연관된 주제를 선정하여 학습 동기를 유발하고, Polya의 문제해결모형을 토대로 스스로 이야기를 만들고 그 안에서 알고리즘을 찾아가는 과정을 통해 알고리즘적 사고력을 향상시킬 수 있도록 컨텐츠를 설계하였다.

Fuzzy Logic Based Modeling of an Incident Detection Algorithm (퍼지이론을 이용한 유고감지 알고리즘)

  • 본 논문은 다이아몬드 인터체인지에서의 유고감지모형 개발을 위해 퍼지이론을 응용한 연구를 문서화 한 것이다. 지금까지의 교차로와 일반도로(고속도로가 아닌)에서의 유고감지에 관한 연구는 초기에 불과하다. 기존의 알고리즘들은 필요한 데이터 보존의 어 려움과 유고감지의 특성과 관련된 기술적 어려움을 효과적으로 극복하지 못하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 다이아몬드 인터체인지에서의 유고감지를 위한 새로운 모형을 개발하는데 있다. 이 연구를 통하여 개발된 유고감지 모형은 차량차단 유고(lane-blocking incidents) 를 감지하는데, 감지의 범위는 차량차단 유고의 경향이 교통 장황에 특정한 패턴을 형성 하고 그에 따른 신호제어전략의 조정이 요구될 때에 국한된다. 이 모형은 전통적인 통계 치를 이용한 유고감지감 고유의 문제를 해결하며, 보다 정확하고 신뢰성 있는 유고감지를 위해 다양한 교통변수를 이용하여 전체적인 유고의 경향을 포착한다. 또한 이 모형은 실 시간 교통대응 다이아몬드 인터체인지 신호제어 시스템 (real-time traffic adaptive diamond interchange control system)의 구성요소로써 사용되며, 그리고 더 큰 교차로 시스템에의 상용을 위하여 확장이 용역하도록 설계되었다. 본 연구를 통해 개발된 프로 토타입(prototype) 유고감지 모형은 실제의 다이아몬드 인터체인지에 적용되어, 감지율, 오보율, 평감지시간의 세 달로써 성능이 평가되었다. 모형의 성능평가 결과는 무적이었으 며, 퍼지이론은 유고감지에 효과적인 접근방법임을 확인할 수 있었다.투자의 타당성을 실증적으로 보여 주고 있다.산정 절차 정립에 엇갈림 알고리즘을 활용하는 방안을 제시하였다.자함수를 추정한 뒤 이를 이용해 업종, 기업규모, 상품유형별로 적합한 모델(Fixed Effects Model)을 결정하고, 각각에 해당하는 통계모형을 구축하였다. 이 결과 (1) 업종 및 기업규모별로 그룹간에 유의한 특성이 발견되었으며, (2) R&D 및 광고투자는 기업의 시장성과를 설명하는 중요한 변수이나, (3) R&D 투자의 경우는 광고에 비해 불확실성이 존재하는 것으로 나타났고, (4) 수리모형에서 도출된 한계원리가 통계모형에서도 유효한 것으로 드러났다.등을 토대로 한 10대 산업을 육성하기 위하여 과학기술부는 기술수요조사를 바탕으로 49개 주요기술을 도출하여, 과학기술 일류 국가 실현, 국민소득 2만불 달성이라는 국가적 슬로건을 내걸고 “차세대 성장동력” 창출을 위한 범정부차원의 기획과 연구비의 집중투자를 추진하고 있다.달성하기 위해서는 종합류류 전산망의 시급한 구축과 함께 화물차의 적재율을 높이고 공차율을 낮출 수 있는 운송체계의 수립이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 그라나 이러한 화물전용차선의 효과는 단기적인 치유책일 수밖에 없기 때문에 물류유통 시설의 확충을 위한 사회간접자본의 구축을 서둘러 시행하여야 할 것이다.으로 처리한 Machine oil, Phenthoate EC 및 Trichlorfon WP는 비교적 약효가 낮았다.>$^{\circ}$E/$\leq$30$^{\circ}$NW 단열군이 연구지역 내에서 지하수 유동성이 가장 높은 단열군으로 추정된다. 이러한 사실은 3개 시추공을 대상으로 실시한

Performance Evaluation of a Switch Router with Output-Buffer (출력 버퍼를 장착한 스위치 라우터의 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, a performance evaluation model of the switch router with the multiple-buffered crossbar switches is proposed and examined. Buffered switch technique is well known to solve the data collision problem of the crossbar switch. The proposed evaluation model is developed by investigating the transfer patterns of data packets in a switch with output-buffers. The performance of the multiple-buffered crossbar switch is analyzed. Steady state probability concept is used to simplify the analyzing processes. Two important parameters of the network performance, throughput and delay, are then evaluated. To validate the proposed analysis model, the simulation is carried out on a network that uses the multiple buffered crossbar switches. Less than $2\%$ differences between analysis and simulation results are observed. It is also shown that the network performance is significantly improved when the small number of buffer spaces is given. However, the throughput elevation is getting reduced and network delay becomes increasing as more buffer spaces are added in a switch.

  • SSI instruction can be an effective tool to promote key competencies for future citizens. Our assumption of the study is that applying the concept of collective intelligence in the context of SSI learning would facilitate the learning. Thus, we designed and implemented Collective Intelligence-based SSI instruction over almost a year and observed the effects of the instruction on enhancing students' collaboration, information management, critical thinking, and communication skills. Twenty 9th grade students enrolled in a science-gifted program voluntarily participated. Data was collected by administering a questionnaire to examine the skills before, in the middle of, and after the instruction, and by conducting classroom observations and focus student group interviews. The results indicated some degree of improvement in their targeted skills. First, they experienced the expansion of their thoughts by actively sharing information and ideas using the web platform. Second, they became more flexible and open to different points of views in order to accomplish a common goal. Third, they appreciated having independent time and space to explore their own positions on the issues and to search necessary information, and believed that the process encouraged them to more pro-actively participate and communicate in the group debates. Lastly, they positively perceived the values that collaboration with diverse group members could produce.

An Advanced Parallel Join Algorithm for Managing Data Skew on Hypercube Systems (하이퍼큐브 시스템에서 데이타 비대칭성을 고려한 향상된 병렬 결합 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose advanced parallel join algorithm to efficiently process join operation on hypercube systems. This algorithm uses a broadcasting method in processing relation R which is compatible with hypercube structure. Hence, we can present optimized parallel join algorithm for that hypercube structure. The proposed algorithm has a complete solution of two essential problems - load balancing problem and data skew problem - in parallelization of join operation. In order to solve these problems, we made good use of the characteristics of clustering effect in the algorithm. As a result of this, performance is improved on the whole system than existing algorithms. Moreover. new algorithm has an advantage that can implement non-equijoin operation easily which is difficult to be implemented in hash based algorithm. Finally, according to the cost model analysis. this algorithm showed better performance than existing parallel join algorithms.

The Theoretical Inquiry for Teaching Creativity in Home Economics Education (가정과 교육에서의 창의성 교수를 위한 이론적 고찰)

  • Creativity is a trait necessarily demanded in highly industrial and information oriented society. Accordingly, we should develop creativity through school education. The purpose of this study is to inquire a conceptual model and teaching method for developing creative problem solving skills in home economics education which can work at a platform for the curriculum developer. Although many definitions of creativity consider cognitive aspect more, personal or affective aspect is heavily involved with creativity. Therefore, creativity is a dynamic system which cooperates many contrasting and dialectic components in personal and cognitive aspects. The function of creativity is dependent on diverse environmental system. Environments influence on the extent of the development of creativity. Thus, the person-situation interaction model devised by Woodman and Schoenfeldt, integration of cognitive, affective, and situational aspects, is suggested as a conceptual model for teaching creativity in home economics education. The practical reasoning teaching model is suggested as a teaching method for developing creative problem solving skills in home economics education. The components of creative problem solving which involved with practical reasoning process are general knowledge and skills, specific knowledge and skills, divergent thinking skills, motivation and motives, and critical thinking skills.

The Analysis of The Science Gifted's Characteristics Present in Linguistic Interactions in The Animal Development Inquiry Activity Program Based on Creative Problem Solving(CPS) Model (CPS 모형으로 개발된 동물 발생 실험수업에서 나타난 과학영재의 특성에 따른 언어적 상호작용 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics that indicate scientifically gifted students by analyzing the verbal interactions in developmental biology inquiry-experimental classes. The subjects were 20 first-grade middle school students who were participating in SNU Science Gifted Education Center. In these experimental classes which were developed based on the CPS Model, we conducted a total of four experimental sessions of small group discussions, and the students' verbal interactions were both taped and video recorded, and observed. From the transcriptions, the patterns of question-answer and the characteristics of scientifically gifted students were analyzed. In the case of question-answer patterns, thinking questions appeared 3~6 times more frequently than the standard information questions. Especially, the case of experimental class I showed 40% more thinking questions as well as standard information questions that the other 3 classes. Through the results of analysing verbal interactions, we were able to find more detailed aspects to creativity that were not identifiable in paper-pencil examinations, as well as affective characteristics such as task commitment and leadership. We believe our findings upon inquiry will be of substantial significance in substituting for the paper-pencil examination in distinguishing and selecting scientifically gifted students.

Development of a Theoretical Model for STEAM Education (융합인재교육(STEAM)을 위한 이론적 모형의 제안)

  • This study attempted to propose a theoretical model for STEAM education, entitled to the Ewha-STEAM education model, which could provide more concrete guidelines for science educators and curriculum developers to execute STEAM ideas. We identified key knowledge and key competencies to nurture future creative/convergent human resources. Key knowledge included an understanding of core ideas cutting across traditional disciplinary boundaries as well as the nature of different disciplines. And additionally, key competencies implied such abilities as to explore the scientific world, to resolve problems, and to communicate and collaborate with others. We also added creativity and character as an essential part of key competencies. In order to provide more specific guidelines when developing, implementing, and evaluating STEAM curriculum, we suggested three elements of convergence to consider: 1) unit of convergence (i.e. concept/skills, problem/phenomenon, activity), 2) degree of convergence (i.e. multi-disciplinary, inter-disciplinary, extra-disciplinary), and 3) context of convergence (i.e. personal, societal, global). It is expected that the Ewha-STEAM education model would contribute towards diverse education communities understanding the direction of STEAM education and its educational potentials.
