  • There are an increasing emphasis on affective domain, for example interest or belief, in science education. But decreasing interest on learning science and tendency to avoid science-related job are serious problems of secondary science education, especially in case of vocational high school students. However there are few researches for vocational high school students. In this study, preference for science is assumed to be a multidimensional property that reveals ones' behavioral volition and valuation as well as emotional response upon learning science. To investigate vocational high school students' preference for science and its causal factors, a Likert style questionnaire was developed through factor analysis. Students' preference for science was analyzed by 3 categories, and its causal factors are investigated by path analysis using structural equation model.

  • This study investigated students' views in relation to a career in science as a first step towards developing science career education programs and materials. The instrument was developed through preliminary surveys. The questionnaire was sent to, administered and returned by 3608 students including 1036 primary, 1137 middle, and 1435 high school students, who were selected through stratified cluster sampling from all over the country. The results were analyzed using statistical package program. The students' image view of science, preference for science and science learning, perception of science achievement, career hope for oneself, degree of hope in getting science-related job, perception about science-related career, important factors of science career choice, and their hope for science/non-science career and the reason for their choice in the past and present were investigated. The results show that "science as an experimentation activity" was the most frequent image view of science. The preference for science and science learning was more positive than the perception of science achievement. The percentage of total students who want to have science career was 21%, and this percentage of middle school students was especially low. The most frequent answers for advantages of science career were 'useful for national development', 'possible to get new knowledge', and those for disadvantages were 'dangerous', and 'too much to study'. The most frequent reason for students' choice of a science career was 'interest in science and science learning'. Judging from these results, the basic direction for science career education should be in raising the students' preference for and interest in science learning. The positive awareness for a career in science and vision for a science job in the future should be given through a science career education and science career education proper to the students' developmental stage and characteristics is more important.

  • Science-related affective domain is considered as a very important domain for achieving students' scientific literacy. Most science educational objectives include some objectives about affective domain such as scientific attitudes, values, curiosity, interests and concerns about nature and science. In this research, the evaluation framework and items of science-related affective domain were developed. The evaluation framework consists of three main categories such as cognition, interest and scientific attitudes and 16 subcategories. The validity of the evaluation framework is tested by ten science educators. Forty-eight items are selected among item pool by considering item response analysis and item-test correlation coefficient. The Cronbach ${\alpha}$ of the tests is 0.83(cognition and interest) and 0.86(scientific attitudes). The results of the test are as follows. First, boys got higher scores than girls. Second, elementary students got higher scores than secondary students. Finally. students in urban areas showed higher scores than those in rural areas.

  • The purposes of this study were to develop the Interactive art STEAM program integrated science and art and to investigate the interest and perception of the elementary school students about the STEAM program. The Interactive art STEAM program was developed by the STEAM program team consisting of science education specialists, an art education specialist, and classroom teachers. The program included the science concepts which were relevant to the indicator reaction of acids and bases. The STEAM program had 3 steps: seeing the many interactive arts related to the program, and imitating the interactive arts, then creating new projects with the interactive art. The program was administered to a small class consisting of 11 $6^{th}$ grade students of an elementary school in S city. The results showed that Interactive art STEAM program improved students' interest about science and art classes. Also the students convinced that science and art could be integrated through the experiences of the Interactive art STEAM program. They were satisfied with the program and wanted to participate in another STEAM program.

  • Teaching and learning through games which arouses interest in learning not only lessens a burden of a learner but also labors for Academic Achievement. and for the sake of enhancing convergence of thinking and problem solving abilities as well as raising interest and understanding in science and technology, Steam teaching which is mainly made of research and experimental activities is emphasized on. This paper which makes use of crayon physics has developed Steam program it was mainly applied to science for the first year of junior high school [strength and motion] which for learners of each team is made of four steps eight time in total. At each step learners can understand principle of strength and motion, especially at the step of finding principle of science through games can personally solve the game in cooperation with the leaners of a team and find principle of strength and motion which is to be applied to solving the game. By personally designing and making new games learners can enhance the ability of convergence of thinking. It is expected that the program developed in this paper can enhance imaginativeness of thinking and interest in science which lead to affirmative changes.

  • The purpose of this study is a descriptive survey research in order to grasp the relationship between learning satisfaction, self-efficacy and critical thinking of nursing students and the influence factors of critical thinking who have experienced non-face-to-face online lectures. Participants were 191 nursing students in G city. Data collection was conducted from May 2 to 30, 2022. Data were collected with structured questionnaires and analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. As a result of there were positive correlations between the learning satisfaction (r=.20, p=.005) and self-efficacy (r=.61, p<.001) that critical thinking. Factors affecting critical thinking of nursing college students were self-efficacy (𝛽=.66, p<.001), major of interest-very interesting (𝛽=.41, p<.001), learning satisfaction (𝛽=-.31, p<.001), Grade-third (𝛽=.26, p<.001), major of interest-interesting (𝛽=.21, p=.029), Grade-second (𝛽=.16, p<.001) and which explained 60.1% of the variance. Based on the results of this study, in order to promote critical thinking among nursing college students, it is necessary to by grade and the interest of major individual counseling and guidance. Also develop and implement various programs that can improve self-efficacy and class satisfaction.

  • Users who want to experience the metaverse for tourism are exposed to strategic planning in space for the purpose of cultural content. In addition, users learn integrated cultural content in the process of proceeding according to the virtual environment. and Along with the meaning of time and space, users will experience space-telling. It is important to induce interest from the beginning of the experience to continue the experience. However, obstacles arise in this process. This is because developers should promote connections with new information to users who do not have sufficient prior knowledge and only have keywords of interest. Therefore, efficient design methods to enhance interest should be studied in advance. But so far, there has been no research on how to systematically design prior organizers to induce interest in virtual space. This study is an interest-inducing design method that occurs in the process of developing the meaning of virtual space and storytelling of cultural content, and can be seen as a basic study using conceptual guidance-based prior organizer education and learning techniques. First, virtual space elements and human behavior theories were considered. Subsequently, five representative examples of previous organizers currently used were explored, and redesigned and proposed based on a conceptual map for information access and delivery purposes. Through this research process, it was possible to confirm that spatial attributes and cognitive interest elements were effectively transmitted to meaningful learning leading to storytelling learning and elements of service design design method through conceptual guidance.

  • The purpose of this research project is to explain why high-achieving high school students in our country do or do not choose a science major and to explore gender differences. First-year students attending science high schools and international high school participated, responding to open-ended questions on science activities, self-concept of strengths for science learning, and rationales for choosing or not choosing a science major. For high- achieving students, it is shown that intrinsic interest has the greatest correlation with choosing a science major, with the next important influence being self-efficacy. On the other hand, in not choosing a science major, the lack of self-efficacy has a greater correlation than the lack of intrinsic interest. Self-concept in science-learning and science activities occurring outside of school classes are also compared and analyzed, and implications are discussed from educational and policy viewpoints.
