For this, I analyze the interacting role of science gifted students in social co-construction and scientific model constructing class for phase change and rising-sinking time of moon and categorize according to type. I analyze aspects of interaction and association of each elements in the students after I understand character type self conception friendship a parents-children relationship relation with teachers derived from advanced research through questionnaire and depth interview. After analyzing, I find the following-close friendship form or not and usual school class participation appear important factors that have strong connection with the aspect of the interactions. Also, character type, self conception and relation of parents affect the interactions relatively lower. Through this study, We identify two things. Firstly, We must consider individual's inside factors for making animatedly the interaction among the students. Secondly, We get considering factors that devise the strategies for making the interaction animatedly.

  • This study examined antioxidative activities and quality characteristics of noodle produced with the pine needle powder as 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0% (v/v to korean wheat powder). DPPH radical scavenging activity, reducing power, antioxidative activities, tyrosinase inhibitory activity of the solvent fraction extracts increased in a dose-dependent manner. Especially, butanol fraction showed high DPPH radical scavenging activity, reducing power, antioxidative activities and tyrosinase inhibitory activity. The weight, volume, water absorption and turbidity of cooked noodles containing pine needle powder increased as pine needle powders were higher. When the amount of pine needle powder increased, the Hunter L (lightness) and a (redness) value of cooked noodles decreased, but b (yellowness) value increased. The texture of noodle containing pine needle powder have decreased than control using only Korean wheat powder in hardness, cohesiveness, springiness, gumminess and chewiness. The results of sensory evaluation of cooked noodles containing pine needle powder indicated that the cooked noodles with 1.0% pine needle powder showed the highest value.

  • "Hwaweon 2" was developed from an interspecific cross between Hwaseongbyeo and a wild species, Oryza rufipogon L. (IRGC 105491) based on marker-aided selection. The recurrent parent "Hwaseongbyeo" is a high grain quality cultivar with medium-maturity. Hwaweon 2 is nearly isogenic to Hwaseongbyeo except a small O. rufipogon introgression on chromosome 9. This segment was associated with genes controlling a number of traits including grain weight, heading date, culm length, and spikelets per panicle. The preliminary and replicated yield trial was conducted at Chungnam National University in 2004, 2005 and 2006. The local adaptability test was carried out by the National Seed Management Office (NSMO) in 2007 and 2008. This cultivar was registered to NSMO with a cultivar designated as "Hwaweon 2". This cultivar averaged 98cm in culm length and has a medium to late growth duration. This variety is resistant to stripe virus as the recurrent parent. Milled rice of "Hwaweon 2" is translucent and the grain quality traits are comparable to those of the recurrent parent. The yield potential of "Hwaweon 2" in grain is about 7.68 MT/ha at the ordinary fertilizer level about 14% higher than that of Hwaseongbyeo due to increase in grain weight and spikelets per panicle.

  • 'Snow Angel' was developed by National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science in 2008. A cross was made between phalaenopsis '0361', a white and red lip small-medium variety, and Phalaenopsis 'S98PN1', a white and dark pink lip small-medium variety with pink net pattern. The seedling materials were cultivated to 83 seedling lines from 2000 to 2002. The white and pink lip small-phalaenopsis '99-0404-13' with flowers of round shape was selected by individual selection. The selected line was multiplicated and the growth characteristics were investigated for the first characteristic trial from 2003 to 2007. It was named as 'Wonkyo F2-18' in 2008 and investigated for the second characteristic trial of growth characteristics. The examination was executed for stability, uniformity, yearly reproducibility, and public fancy. It was selected as a high quality cultivar with excellent flower shape and flower color from the selection council of new cultivars for agricultural products, there after it was registered as 'Snow Angel' in 2008.

  • Eleven accessions of Hedera helix, three accessions of Hedera rhombea, one accession of Fatshedera lizei, and one accession of Fatsia japonica were collected and their genetic diversity was measured by using 10 RAPD primers. Approximately ninety seven percentage of polymorphism was detected, because broad germplasm, three genus, was used. Total 97 bands were scored and a dendrogram was constructed by using an UPGMA method. Accessions belonging to Hedera helix tightly clustered in one group: eight accessions showed extremely narrow genetic differences and the other three accessions also showed significant similarity. Despite of their genetic similarity, they showed morphological variations. The morphological variation with a narrow genetic differences indicated that the ivy cultivars have been indeed developed from a mutation breeding program. Genetically most unrelated Fatsia japonica showed a genetic distance of 0.63 on the average between other species. An accession from Fatshedera lizei developed by crossing between two genus, Hedera helix and Fatsia japonica, was allocated together with accessions from Hedera rhombea.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the elementary school teachers' perceptions about making a model of volcanic activity. Thirty elementary teachers participated in the study after they in which they conducted the experiment of "Making a Model of Volcanic activity". A questionnaire was used to investigate how the teachers understood the strengths and weaknesses of the experiment in terms of the goals of school science inquiry. The results showed that 50-60% of the teachers were able to conduct the experiment as guided in the textbook regardless of their career or area of concentration. The teachers perceived that the experiment of current textbook was safe and useful for students to develop their creativity. However, they pointed out three major weaknesses of the textbook experiment: First, the textbook experiment does not clearly present the main purpose of the activity. Second, it does not appropriately reflect the natural volcanic activity. Third, it is a merely simple craft activity. In addition, the teachers agreed that the main goals of school science inquiry are the application of scientific knowledge, development of inquiry skills and cultivation of student's curiosity. However, the teachers perceived that the experiment of current textbook did not meet these three goals. They suggest that the experiment reflect the nature of real volcanic activities.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify homoteneity of soil and earthenwares and identify firing temperature of earthenwares excavated from Yeoncheon Hapsuri: two earthenwares of the New Stone Age(YCP-1, YCP-2); two of the Bronze Age(YCP-3, YCP-4); and four of the Three States Age(YCP-4~8). The comparative analysis of soil (YCRM) and the earthenwares displays that soil geochemical patterns were similar to YCP-1, YCP-3, YCP-5, YCP-6, YCP-7 and YCP-8. On the other hand, YCP-2 and YCP-4 did not show the similarity to the one of soil because they had been enriched with MgO by contained talc and chlorite. Based on the absorption rate, specific gravity, structural characteristics and XRD analysis, firing temperature has been estimated: for YCP-7 and YCP-8 was $870^{\circ}C$ or over; for YCP-2 and YCP-4 $800^{\circ}C$ or below; and for YCP-1, YCP-3, YCP-5 and YCP-6 between 800 and $870^{\circ}C$. Mineralogical analysis displays that the geochemical pattern of the soil is coincide with the one around Yeoncheon Hapsuri site, which also shows similarity to the one of earthenwares. Such result persuades that the excavated earthenwares were produced with the soils within the precinct of the archaeological sites.

  • Implant prostheses and removable partial dentures are mainly used as treatment methods for partial edentulous patients who have lost a number of teeth. The implant-assisted removable partial denture (IARPD) is strategically selected. The defect in maxillofacial structure due to osteomyelitis, a type of facial bone infection, causes dysfunction such as mastication, swallowing, and pronunciation, as well as social and psychological effects, so a removable restoration is required to restore the supporting tissue. Design of abutment and partial dentures is an essential factor in the success of treatment. In this case, IARPD, which has superior retention and stability compared to traditional removable partial dentures, can have a good prognosis. In a partial edentulous patient with bone defects due to osteomyelitis treatment, the stability of the denture was secured with IARPD restoration. Moreover, maintenance problem that may occur in the future was minimized by providing an appropriate denture design and occlusal scheme through several provisional restorations. This case can be expected to have a favorable prognosis in the long term.

  • This paper tries to study theoretical transformation about modernity by analyzing changes of the concepts of Gaining Knowledge of the Study of Things(格物致知). Gaining Knowledge of the Study of Things(格物致知) was the main concept to explain the thought of Neo-Confucianism(性理學). But in the Modern era Gaining Knowledge of the Study of Things(格物致知) was understood as the meaning of Science. In Neo-Confucianism(性理學) Gaining Knowledge of the Study of Things(格物致知) was closely related to the side of human duty and the moral value judgement. But in the modern meaning Gaining Knowledge of the Study of Things(格物致知: Science) was focused to scientific study of the objective matter. So the Science on Gaining Knowledge of the Study of Things(格物致知學) effect to breakup the thinking of Neo-Confucianism(性理學).

  • PCR-chip-based ultra-rapid multiplex PCRs for detection of six major infectious pathogens in honeybee were developed. The 6 kinds of major infectious pathogens in honeybee included Paenibacillus larvae causing American Foulbrood, Melissococcus plutonius causing European Foulbrood as bacteria, Ascosphaera apis (Chalkbrood), Aspergillus flavus (Stonebrood), Nosema apis and Nosema ceranae (Nosemosis) as fungi. The developed PCR-chip-based ultra-rapid multiplex PCR showed successful amplification for all six major pathogens in the presence of more than $10^3$ molecules. The time for confirming amplification (Threshold cycles; Ct-time) was about 7 minutes for two species, and about 9 minutes for four species. Total 40 cycles of PCR took 11 minutes 42 seconds and time for melting point analysis was 1 minute 15 seconds. Total time for whole PCR detection was estimated 12 minutes 57 seconds (40 cycles of PCR and melting point analysis). PCR-chip based ultra-rapid multiplex PCR using standard DNA substrates showed close to 100% accuracy and no false-amplification was found with honeybee genomic DNA. Ultra-rapid multiplex PCR is expected to be a fast and efficient pathogen detection method not only in the laboratory but also in the apiary field.
