Evaluation of Applicability of Platform Fill Horizontal Drain Pipe System (선재하 수평배수관망 시스템의 적용성 평가)

  • The most of horizontal drainages, which is composed of the aggregates made of sand and crushed stone, are used to improve the soft ground. However, where the aggregates are used as the horizontal drainage, it often brings about the delay of consolidation. For this reason, the horizontal drain pipe system is applied to properly improve the soft ground using a drainage pipe instead of horizontal drainage. This system is direct drain method for disappearing the excess porewater pressure which is caused by placing of fill on the soft ground. The large-scale field test was conducted in order to evaluate the applicability and constructability of the horizontal drain pipe system. The settlement characteristics of improved ground with horizontal drain pipe system was observed. It is also compared to the conventional soft ground improvement method to confirm its effectiveness.

  • The PZT films were deposited on the Pt/Ti/$SiO_2$/Si substrates using multi- target DC magnetron reactive sputtering. The perovskite single phase with the composition close to the stoichiometric one, was obtained even at high substrate temperature of $540^{\circ}C$ by 2-step method, which is that PZT film was deposited for a short time at low substrate temperature ($480^{\circ}C$) to promote the nucleation of perovskite phase by reducing the volatility of Pb oxide molecules, followed by the deposition at the elevated temperature to suppress the excess incorporation of Pb component in the PZT film. This two-step method, in combination with the RTA treatment, gives rise to good electrical properties of the deposited PZT films: remanent polarifaion,$18\mu$C/$\textrm{cm}^2$; coercive field, 45kV/cm; leakage current of 10$^{-4}$ A/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at high electric field of -500kV/cm.

소금의 영양학적 고찰

  • $Na^{+}$는 체내에서 세포외액 (extracellular fluid)의 주요 양이온으로 세포내액과 세포외액은 세포막을 사이에 두고 $Na^{+}$$K^{+}$의 높은 농도의 차이를 유지하고 있다. 이러한 농도차이는 세포막에 있는 $Na^{+}$-K$^{+}$ATP ase의 활동에 의하여 유지되며 $Na^{+}$는 체액의 osmolarity와 혈장의 부피 유지, 신경흥분, 근육수축 및 영양소등의 이동에도 중요한 역할을 한다. 체내의 Na balance는 renin-aldosterone system에 의하여 신장에서의 배설조절로 이루어지며, 최근 Na대사에 관여하는 natriuretic hormone이 발견되고 있다. Na의 과잉섭취는 역학적 연구와 동물실험에서 고혈압의 유발인자로 제시되고 있으나, 임상적 연구에서는 Na제한이 혈압강하효과가 있다는 보고와 없다는 보고가 있어 결과가 뚜렷하지 않다. 이는 고혈압 환자중에는 salt-sensitive한 group자 salt-resistant group이 있다는 것과 산업화된 사회들의 Na 섭취량이 이미 너무 높은 수준으로 Na섭취증가와 혈압상승간의 관계를 현재의 연구 방법들로는 찾아내기 어렵다는 ‘saturation effect’로 설명한다. 그러나 Na섭취를 1일 70~100mEq.(NaCl 4.0~5.8g)이하로 줄이면 고혈압 발생이 현저히 감소하고 Na 섭취량이 1일 30mEq.(NaCl 1.7g)이하이면 고혈압은 거의 발생하지 않는다. 그러나 Na섭취가 1일 400mEq.(NaCl 23.2g)이상이 되더라도 인구 중 50~80%는 고혈압에 걸리지 않아 고혈압의 발생은 유전적 인자, 신장 기능의 부족에 의해 지배되고, Na이외에도 K, Ca등의 식이 인자 및 stress, 운동등의 환경적 요인들이 영향을 미친다. Na 섭취량은 자연식품에 들어있는 양 뿐 아니라, 가공과정, 조리가정, 식사 중에 첨가되는 양에 의하여 좌우되므로, Na 섭취량을 측정하기 매우 어렵다. 가장 널리 사용되는 방법은 24시간 소변 중 배설되는 Na의 양으로부터 추정하는 방법으로 우리나라의 경우, 이러한 방법으로 섭취량을 환산할 경우 1일 200~260mEq. (NaCl 11.6~15.1g) 정도이며 이중 80% 이상이 discretionary intake인 것으로 추정된다. 따라서 앞으로 Na섭취를 줄이도록 많은 노력을 기울여야 하겠다.

  • Fusion is defined as union of two separate tooth buds at some stage in their development with confluence of dentin and characterized by separate root canal and large single crown, while gemination is defined as an attempt of the single tooth bud to incompletely divide and usually result in a single root with one root canal and two completely or incompletely separated crowns. It is sometimes difficult to decide whether an abnormally large tooth is the result of fusion of a normal and a supernumerary tooth, or of gemination; use of the term 'Double tooth' may make the clinicians avoid this difficulty(Brook & Winter). Commonly there are no symptoms, but the problems associated with these anomalies include esthetics, possible loss of arch length and delayed or ectopic eruption of the permanent teeth, caries along the line of demarcation, and periodontal disease. Commonly, it dose not need to be treated in primary dentition but in case of permanent dentition, it may be requested to be treated due to esthetics and other problems. In our case, a 8 years old girl showed a Double tooth, we attained the favorable results by performing hemisection with apexification.

Dynamic Characteristics of the Box Structure in Multi-layered Ground Under Earthquake Load (지진하중을 받는 다층지반내 박스구조물의 동적 특성)

  • In this study, a scaled model test of the shaking table and a seismic analysis considering effective stresses were performed to reveal the dynamic behavior characteristics of box structures deep located in multi-layered soils upon seismic loading. The input seismic wave was operated below the ground using five seismic waves, including long period wave (Hachinohe), short period wave (Ofunato), artificial wave and real earthquakes that occurred in Gyeong-ju and Po-hang. As a result of model test and numerical analysis, the vertical displacement of box structures upon seismic loading was greater than that of horizontal direction, and it was confirmed that an increase of excess pore water pressure below the foundation ground caused a displacement. In addition, behavior of the ground and structures during artificial seismic wave appeared to be larger than real earthquake wave.

  • Korean power consumption of the electrical supply problems due to excess demand is repeated every year, the interest in energy increasing social and personal cost has been subject to the number of ways to reduce this cost increases. Automatic doors and automatic door installation market is increasing every year and frequently, when used in general commercial and communal porch consumption based on average 300 times a day power is 70[W] degree is a monthly average usage is about 50.4[KW]. The level can not ignore the power consumption due to switching frequency is large. In this paper, by converting the energy to be discarded in the automatic doors to the inverter and the regenerative energy and to develop control systems for power regeneration to reduce the power consumption by utilizing automatic contact auxiliary power.

Combustion Performance of a Coaxial Porous Injector using Ethanol/N2O Propellant (동축형 다공성재 분사기의 에탄올/아산화질소 연소성능)

  • The gas jet from a coaxial porous injector for two-phase flows is discharged radially from the porous surface, which encloses the center liquid jet. Several hot-firing test using ethanol/nitrous oxide propellants was conducted to analyze the effect of oxidizer/fuel ratio on the combustion performance, and the uncertainty analysis was performed for the results. The characteristic velocity was affected by oxidizer/fuel ratio similarly with the results of CEA calculation except that the maximum characteristic velocity was appeared in the stoichiometric ratio. The characteristic velocity efficiency was increased as the oxidizer/fuel ratio increases.

  • Domestic trucking transportation market does not have only the poor business environment but also the serious defects on the transportation trading structure. It makes weaken the competitiveness of trucking industry and hinders the development of trucking industry. The problems of trucking industry such as the recession of the Korean economy and decrease of the trucking charge cause the truck drivers suffer. Korean government and national assembly try to change the law of truck transportation business. The suggested law includes the obligation of trucking information networking system and it can make the transportation business structures more efficiently. This article deals with the strategies for the establishment of trucking transportation networking system and examines the cost-benefit analysis assuming the four demand senario. The results suggest the establishment of the information system not based on the individual trucking industry but on the joint industry at the level of the local area. This article also suggests that the information system has a positive financial feasibility.

  • 영화 '판도라'에 투입된 정도의 돈은 막대한 예산을 갖고 있는 국제 그린피스나 매년 전 세계 TV 광고에만 수천만 달러를 쏟아 붓는 천연가스 이익단체들의 예산에 비하면 조족지혈의 수준이다. 국제 그린피스의 연간 예산이 대략 4억 달러, EDF가 1억4천만 달러, 천연자원보호협회(NRDC)와 시에라클럽이 1억 달러가 넘고, 이들 단체가 예금이나 주식에 투자한 돈만 해도 수억 달러나 된다. 시에라클럽이나 NRDC, EDF는 블로그에 원자력을 화석연료로 대체하는 것에 반대하는 글을 올리면서 다른 한편으로는 뉴욕에 있는 Indian Point, 캘리포니아에 있는 Diablo Canyon, 그리고 오하이오에 있는 여러 원전들을 천연가스로 대체해야 한다고 주장하는 기만책을 쓰고 있다. 자연과의 조화를 위해서라도 신재생에너지를 사용해야 한다는 그들 주장의 베일 뒤에는 더 큰 어두운 그림자가 깔려 있다. 가난한 나라는 계속해서 가난하도록 해야 '과잉 인구'와 '과소비'를 막을 수 있다는 반인륜적인 멜더스(Malthusian) 이론과 그들이 주장하는 반핵의 오랜 역사는 서로 그 맥을 같이하고 있기 때문이다. 탈원전이 추진되면 전기요금도 올라가고 실업률도 증가한다는 사실, 그리고 환경 오염도 더 심해지고 그로 인해 조기 사망자 수도 증가한다는 사실을 보여주는 데 반드시 어려운 경제 모델이나 환경 모델이 필요한 것은 아니다. 원자력을 천연가스로 대체하면 그에 따른 비용 상승이 연간 최소 110억 달러나 된다. 물론 신재생에너지로 대체하게 되면 그 상승폭은 더욱 커지게 된다. 그리고 한 경제 분석 전문기관의 연구에 따르면 전기요금이 상승되면 한국의 경제는 저성장에서 벗어나지 못하게 된다. 결국 지금 우리에게 가장 필요한 것은 원자력 휴머니즘, 즉 원자력 에너지가 갖고 있는 훌륭한 도덕적인 목적을 다시 한 번 상기하면서, 우리 인류가 가지고 있는 가장 중요한 환경 기술을 반인륜적인 집단으로부터 구해내기 위한 풀뿌리 시민사회의 가열찬 노력이라고 할 수 있다. 우리와 같은 원자력 휴머니스트들에게는 그린피스나 기타 여러 반인륜적 집단들이 갖고 있는 풍부한 자원이 없다. 그러나 우리에게는 그런 종류의 자원이 필요한 것이 아니다. 우리에게는 그것보다 훨씬 더 중요한 진실이라는 자원이 있다는 사실을 결코 잊어서는 안될 것이다.

  • Due to the important role played by emotion in human interaction, affective computing is dedicated in trying to understand and regulate emotion through human-aware artificial intelligence. By understanding, emotion mental diseases such as depression, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and game addiction will be better managed as they are all associated with emotion. Various studies for emotion recognition have been conducted to solve these problems. In applying machine learning for the emotion recognition, the efforts to reduce the complexity of the algorithm and improve the accuracy are required. In this paper, we investigate emotion Electroencephalogram (EEG) feature reduction and classification using Stack AutoEncoder (SAE) and Long-Short-Term-Memory/Recurrent Neural Networks (LSTM/RNN) classification respectively. The proposed method reduced the complexity of the model and significantly enhance the performance of the classifiers.
