Herpetofauna in Soraksan National Park (설악산 국립공원의 양서. 파충류상)

  • Herpetofauna in Soraksan National Park was carried out both Apr. 27, Apr. 28, 1996 and Aug. 19, Aug. 20, 1996. 6 stecies of 4 Families in Amphibian and 2 species of 2 Families in Reptilian were observed in this survey. It was observed relatively poor biota to other National Park that caused to excessive visitor and impacts by divelopments. Onychodactylus fischeri which was revealed Specific Endangered Animal assigned by Minister of Environmemt distributed abundantly along the Chohangnyong. So Chohangnyong should be conserved by prolonging the Year of Natural Rest.

기업(企業)의 부동산(不動産) 보유(保有)와 기업가치(企業價値에) 관한 연구(硏究)

  • 본고에서는 부동산 가격의 상승과 기업가치의 관제를 이론적으로 규명하고 그에 관한 실증분석의 결과를 제시한다. 우선 이론적인 분석에서는 거품가격의 형성에 의하여 야기되는 부동산 가격상승 기대는 기업의 미래 성장기회에 대한 가치손실을 야기하므로 부동산 가격상승 기대에 따른 기업가치의 변화는 기업의 보유 부동산 가치의 상승에 미치지 못할 것으로 분석하였다. 또한 이러한 성장기회의 가치 상실은 부채에 의한 자금조달이 높을수록 더욱 커질 것으로 분석되었다. 이에 대한 실증분석의 결과, 우선 87-91년의 연도별 횡단면 분석에서는 기업의 부동산 보유 비율이 주식수익률에 큰 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 부채비율의 과다에 따라 표본을 분류하여 분석을 하였을 때에는 고부채 기업일수록 부동산 보유 변수에 대한 회귀제수가 전반적으로 낮게 나타나 부채사용이 높을수록 성장기회 가치상실이 클 것이라는 이론적인 가설을 지지하였다. 이러한 결과는 기업의 규모별 분석에서는 관찰되지 않았다. 따라서 주식수익률의 부동산 보유 효과는 규모별 효과에 비하여 부채비율별 효과가 좀 더 뚜렷한 효과로 간주되었다.

Pirn Winder의 권취형상에 대한 기구학적 제어알고리즘 개발

  • 종래의 Cam 구동방식 Pirn Winder에서는 낮은 권취속도와 만권시 권취 Bobbin이 Cradle에서 이탈될 때 권취 Yarn의 대량손실, Pirn 형성시 사층의 붕괴에 따른 과다권취등 기술적 난제가 대두되었다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 구미선진국에서는 Micom 제어 Pirn Winder가 개발되었다. 국내에서는 이 기계를 전량 수입에 의존하고 있어 수입 대체가 시급하지만 선진국의 기술보호주의 때문에 기술도입도 어려운 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 Micom제어 Pirn Winder에서 기본적으로 사층이 무너지지않기 위한 권취량, Traverse속도, 사속(Yarn Speed), 스핀들의 각속도 등을 결정함으로써 기구 학적 제어를 할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제시하고 컴퓨터 모사실험을 통하여 타당성을 보였다.

  • Epicanthoplasty was performed in 98 patients with the epicanthal fold. Epicanthal fold was classified into three categories-minimal degree, moderate degree, severe degree-according to its severity. In accurate anatomic dissection in medial canthal area, the pathologic mechanism of the formation of the epicanthal fold, I think, are not only the redundancy of skin, but also the early downward insertion of the preseptal and pretarsal portion of orbicularis oculi muscle. A new surgical technique is described for the correction of the epicanthal fold. The procedure is simple to perform and uniformly gives good results.

  • Sideroblastic anemia is a rare, heterogeneous group of disorders characterized by hyperferremia, microcytic hypochromic anemia, and bone marrow erythroid hyperplasia with the presence of numerous ringed sideroblasts. We describe herewith the case of a rare coincidence of sideroblastic anemia and mitral valve prolapse with resultant regurgitation in a 2-year-old boy. In addition to the inherent propensity for the development of cardiac dysfunction in sideroblastic anemia due to transfusion-associated myocardial iron overload and chronic anemia, a coincidence of MVP will further increase the likelihood of the morbidity or mortality of th patient. in this patient. After response to pyridoxine, the patient remains in good condition with stable hemoglobin levels.

Removal of Gaseous Styrene using a Pilot-Scale Rotating Drum Biotrickling Filter (Pilot-scale 회전식 드럼 바이오필터를 이용한 Styrene 제거)

  • A new type of biofilter, a rotating drum biotrickling filter(RDBF), was developed and operated for the removal of styrene from industrial waste gas. The porous polyurethane foam sheet was used as a packing materials for the RDBF and a pure culture of Gram-positive bacterium Brevibacillus sp. SP1 was used as an inoculum. The reactor showed a short start-up period of 18 days, during which uniform biofilms were developed on the packing. During a steady operation at an incoming styrene concentration of $200ppm_v$ and a retention time of 0.5 min, a high and stable removal of styrene over 95% was observed. The maximum elimination capacity was estimated to be $125g/m^3{\cdot}hr$. The outstanding performance was attributed to an efficient gas-liquid mass transfer and the appropriate supply of nutrient solution to the biofilm microorganisms on the packing by the rotation of the drum.

Benthic Polychaetous Community in Kamak Bay, Southern Coast of Korea (가막만의 저서다모류군집)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the distribution of the benthic polychaetous community in Kamak Bay, in summer of 1993. Polychaetes, the dominant faunal group comprising 74.5% of the total number of fauna, consisted of a total of 84 species with a mean density of 112 indiv.m/SUP -2/. The number of species and density were higher in the mouth area of the bay than in the rest of the bay. The most dominant Polychaete was Tharyx sp.(31.9%), followed by Lumbrineris longifolia (27.5%), Chone sp.(4.5%) and Glycera chirori (4.2%). The correspondence analysis revealed that the study area could be divided into four regions. Northeastern channel and southern mouth region of the bay, named Tharyx-Chone assemblage, sustained higher polychaetous density and species number due to the active water exchange with the outer off-sea, whereas northwestern region of the bay had the poorest polychaetous assemblage in the species number and faunal density owing to the blocking water exchange, high organic enrichment in sediment, and low dissolved oxygen content of bottom water. The central region, named Praxillella-Terebellides assemblage and Gly-cera assemblage, was the transition zone between another two region in species composition.

Three-Dimensional Water Quality Modeling of Chinhae Bay (진해만의 3차원 수질 모델링)

  • A three-dimensional hydrodynamic-ecosystem model was developed and applied to Chinhae Bay which is located in the southeastern sea of Korea. The model includes a three-dimensional hydrodynamic model and an eutrophication model, and the model operates on the same grid system. The agreement between predicted and measured results is reasonably encouraging. The concentrations of the calculated COD, DIN and DIP are appeared to be very high due to the phytoplankton production and the wastewater input in the northern part of Chinhae Bay. Anoxic and hypoxic water masses in the bottom layer occur in the northern part of the bay due to the excess loading of wastewater and strong stratification, and in the western inner part of the bay due to high oxygen consumption in densely populated aquaculturing facilities. DO concentration contours show parallel to the bay entrance line, which means the importance of supplying DO by physical process from the mouth of the bay. Although both the hydrodynamic and biochemical processes play important role to form the hypoxic waters in the bottom of the inner bay, it is suggested that the hydrodynamic conditions such as the vertical and the horizontal eddy diffusivity are primarily important factors.

  • Lesch-Nyhan syndrome is a rare X-linked recessively inherited disorder, caused by complete absence or decrease in activity of hypoxanthine guanine phosphoribosyl transferase(HPRT), an enzyme involved in purine metabolism. This enzyme deficiency gives rise to nephropathy symptoms, such as hyperuricosuria and hyperuricemia by excessive uric acid production and neuropathy symptoms, such as mental retardation, choreoathetosis and self mutilation behavior. Patients with Lesch-Nyhan syndrome have tendency to bite their lip, tongue and finger. In severe cases, partial or even total amputation of tongue or finger occur. Self-inflicted bites are often complicated by secondary infection to the injured site as well as pain. Furthermore tissue loss by biting results in esthetic problems. The dental management of self mutilation includes treatment with appliances such as soft mouth guard or lip bumper, extraction of all the teeth, and orthognathic surgery. We report a case of a 13 year-old boy with Lesch-Nyhan syndrome, who severely injured himself on his tongue. At first, conservative treatment using soft mouth guard was considered, but it could not prevent trauma on his tongue. Therefore, extraction of the lower anterior and posterior teeth was carried out.

Pseudohypoaldosteronism in a premature neonate with severe polyhydramnios in utero (양수과다증 산전력이 있는 미숙아의 가성저알도스테론혈증 1예)

  • We report a case of a premature newborn baby who presented with hyponatremia, hyperkalemia, and metabolic acidosis accompanied by severe polyhydramnios in utero. The baby was diagnosed with pseudohypoaldosteronism on the basis of normal 17-hydroxyprogesterone levels, elevated aldosterone, and clinical symptoms. His serum electrolyte levels were corrected with sodium chloride supplementation. Sodium supplementation was reduced gradually and discontinued at 5 months of age. At 5 months, the child was able to maintain normal serum electrolyte levels without oral sodium chloride supplementation, and showed normal physical and neurological development. This case illustrates that pseudohypoaldosteronism must be considered if a newborn infant with an antenatal history of severe polyhydramnios shows excessive salt loss with normal levels of 17-hydroxyprogesterone.
