A Study on the Visual Impairment of Pilots and Controllers caused by Large Lighting Facilities around Airports during Nighttime Flight Operation (야간운항 중 공항 주변 대형 조명시설에 의한 조종사와 관제사의 시각장애현상에 대한 연구)

  • Airport-related laws restrict the installation of lights that obstruct the identification of airport lights or cause glare to pilots and controllers around the airport. However, with regard to the glare that lights give to the pilot or controller, it is only judged whether there is a limit based on a qualitative judgment, and a quantitative review has not been made. Therefore, in this study, visual disturbances that may occur to pilots and controllers due to large lighting facilities around airports during nighttime flight operation were quantitatively calculated and confirmed through disability glare, object recognition, and identification obstruction. And based on this study, it was suggested to supplement the related system to prevent the visual impairment of pilots and controllers caused by lighting facilities.

Interference Analysis of TV Signal Affected by Flights of An Airplane around KimPo International Airport Circumference (항공기 운항으로 인한 김포국제공항 주변지역의 TV 수신 장애 분석)

  • In this paper, we have chosen KimPo International Airport as an area for estimating the flutter interference, in order to analyze the flutter interference. The field test at 25 points around KimPo International Airport and the simulation have been performed for estimating the flutter interference. We consider the received power of a direct wave, the height of an antenna, the ERP of a transmitting point, transmit frequency, and the reflection coefficients of an airplane, the transmit/receive point coordinates as estimation functions for the flutter. From the results, we have found that the flutter interference from flights is very serious around the route of flight circumference, and often occurs when the height of an airplane is low, range from 40 to 240 m. Besides, the degree of the flutter interference can be changed according to the distance between an airplane and a transmitting point, elevation angle, and the reflection coefficients of an airplane.

  • In modern society the population of disabled goes on increasing rapidly not only in congenital deformities but also in acquired handicapped persons due to various factors such as car accidents and industrial disaster. And the number of disabled passengers in airports is growing every year with economic growth and globalization in Korea as well. That is the reason why the effort to the convenient facilities for the disabled in airports is needed more. The real situation in airports which are the public buildings is that the effort to install the facilities for the disabled is only perfunctory to meet the legal standard and cannot answer to the expectation of the facilities for e disabled. In this investigation I would like to give the airport operators the guide line to expand the facilities and the disabled an opportunity to use airports more freely and conveniently through the presentation on the problems and solutions with the current situation of the facilities for the disabled and the satisfaction of users in all airports in Korea.

  • The immigration procedure at airports is vital to making passenger and cargo transport faster. The rapid procedure of immigration could be an important determining factor when passengers select an air transport company, one that should have high satisfactory in terms of their service level and efficiency. Therefore, the advanced airport makes it easy for customers and their cargo to proceed. The coordination between authorities related to the Korean international airport is not satisfactory for customers. This paper analyzes the factors necessary to enhance the airport immigration procedure with the movement of aircrafts, passengers, cargo, and post, using the CK(Cook and Kress) model of DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis). From this study, the author found that research and development will be needed to improve the immigration procedure, especially on facilities and their operating systems. There are needed, also, performance indicators and a continuous monitoring system.

Comparison of Clinical Characteristics Between Respiratory and Non-Respiratory Subtypes of Panic Disorder (공황장애 호흡기 아형과 비호흡기 아형의 임상 특성 비교)

  • Objectives : The goal of this study was to compare the clinical characteristics of panic disorder respiratory subtype(PD-R) and non-respiratory subtype(PD-NR). Methods : 84 patients with panic disorder were enrolled and divided into 2 groups, 29 PD-R and 55 PD-NR. Diagnosis of panic disorder was evaluated using Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders $4^{th}$ edition and Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview. They were also measured with Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety(HAM-A), Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression(HAM-D), and Panic Disorder Severity Scale (PDSS). Results : PD-R group showed significantly higher scores in PDSS than those of PD-NR group(p=.027). After controlling for the severity of panic disorder and gender, PD-R group showed higher HAM-D and somatic anxiety subscale of HAM-A than those of PD-NR group. Furthermore, results of logistic regression analysis suggested that the somatic anxiety was a possible risk factor of PD-R(OR=1.404,p=0.009). Conclusion : These results suggest that somatic anxiety and depressive symptom would be important clinical characteristics of PD-R.

  • In this paper, we have chosen Inchon International Airport as an area for estimating flutter interference to estimate and analyze the flutter Interference. We have proposed a method to overcome flutter interference. The simulation has been performed considering the received power of a direct wave, the height of an antenna, the ERP of a transmitting point, and the reflection coefficients as an estimation function for the flutter. From the simulation results, we have found that the flutter Interference from flights is very serious, and the degree of flutter interference can be changed according to the distance between an airplane and a transmitting point, the profile between transmitting and receiving points, and the reflection coefficients of an airplane.

  • This paper presents harmonic evaluation of an IAT(Intra Airport Transit) system in Incheon International Airport. It will be used for electric vehicles with 80[kW] per car produced by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd, and which is constructed with SIV(Static Inverter), VVVF controller and two induction motor. The vehicles operated in the IAT system can be treated as rapidly changing DC loat and at a feeding substation, 3-phase electric power is transferred to DC 750[V] by rectifier. Since vehicles are changing continuously, the voltages for the load fluctuate in the IAT system, and moreover, the voltage fluctuation generates high-order harmonics. It results the difficulty in maintaining power quality in KEPCO systems' side. The power quality of the IAT system in Incheon International Airport is evaluated using PSCAD/EMTDC simulator in the paper. The THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) of voltages and TDD(Total Demand Distortion) of currents, indices are calculated for the IAT system using the results of PSCAD/EMTDC dynamic simulation.

Difference in Psychiatric Comorbidity of Panic Disorder According to Age of Onset (공황장애의 발병연령에 따른 정신과적 공존질환의 차이)

  • Objectives : It is reported that panic disorder is frequently comorbid with other psychiatric illnesses. The aim of this study was to investigate differences of psychiatric comorbidity according to age of onset of panic disorder. Methods : Three hundred-two patients participated in the study. All the patients were evaluated by clinical instruments for the assessment the presence of other comorbid psychiatric disorders and various clinical features; Korean version of Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview, Self-report questionnaires(Beck Anxiety Inventory, Beck Depression Inventory, Anxiety Sensitivity Index and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory) and clinical rating scale (Hamilton Anxiety Scale, Hamilton Depression Scale and Global Assessment of Functional score). Chi-square test was used to determine the difference between early onset and late onset panic disorder. Results : Forty percent of panic patients were found to have at least one comorbid psychiatric diagnosis. There were no differences among the groups divided by number of comorbidity in sex, agoraphobia comorbidity, duration of panic disorder, except onset age of panic disorder. Early onset group had more comorbidy with social phobia, agoraphobia, PTSD. We also found that Early onset panic disorder patients were more likely to experience derealization, nausea, parethesia than late onset panic disorder patients. Conclusion : The results of our study are in keeping with previous data from other parts of the world. Our finding suggest that earier onset of panic disorder related to more psychiatric comorbidity.

  • 다양한 삶의 질이 높아진 지금 인천국제공항에서는 영유아와 함께 비행기를 탑승하는 가족구성원을 쉽게 찾아볼 수 있다. 워라벨이 중시되고 긴 명절연휴를 맞아 해외 여행을 가는 것은 손쉬운 일이 되었다. 2013년 아시아나항공 213편 샌프란시스코 추락사고를 기억할 것이다. 당시 15개월 아기띠를 하고 있던 승객은 아기띠가 없었다면 아기를 잃었을 것이라는 인터뷰를 했다. 많은 국가가 영유아 안전벨트를 도입 및 장려를 하고 있지만, 아직 국내항공사는 영유아를 위한 안전벨트 도입에 소극적인 것을 알 수 있다. 유럽항공청 EASA에서 승인되어 사용하고 있는 영유아 안전벨트의 시스템을 살펴보고 예기치 못한 사고의 피해를 줄이기 위해 영유아 안전벨트의 필요성을 연구하고자 한다. 또한 도입에 따른 장애요인을 파악하고 대응 방안을 모색하여 국내항공사가 영유아 안전을 더욱 강화 할 수 있기를 기대한다.
