5축 CNC 공작기계의 오차합성모델링 및 보정 알고리즘 (Error Synthesis Modeling and Compensation Algorithm of a 5-Axis CNC Machine Tool)

  • A 5-axis CNC machine tool is more useful compared with a 3-axis machine tool, because the position and the orientation of a tool tip can be controlled simultaneously. Unlike the 3-axis machine tool, the 5-axis machine tool has the volumetric position error and volumetric orientation error due to the quasi-static error of each machine tool joint which is a major source of machined part error. So, the generalized error synthesis model of the 5-axis CNC machine tool was developed to predict and to compensate for the volumetric position error and the volumetric orientation error. It was proposed that a compensation algorithm to correct simultaneously the volumetric position error and the volumetric orientation error of the 5-axis CNC machine by error inverse kinematic.

원호보간시험에 의한 수치제어 공작기계의 운동오차원인 진단에 관한 연구 (Identification of motion error sources in NC machine tools by a circular interpolation test)

  • This paper presents an efficient method for the identification of motion error sources in NC machine tools by making use of the circular interpolation test, which is often used in estimating the motion accuracy of NC machine tools. Mathematical formulae are described for motion errors due to various kinds of error sources. Two identification formulae are proposed: one is based on the frequency analysis and the other is formulated with the weithted residual method. Motion error signal is classified into two patterns, mean errors(mean of CW and CCW test signals from mean errors). The sources of the mean errors are identified by using the frequency analysis technique and the sources of the deviation errors by the weighted residual formulaltion. A menu driven, user oriented, computer program is written to realize the full steps of the proposed identificationprocedure. Then, the identification method is applied to two NC machine tools.

  • 최근의 높은 생산성을 향한 NC 혹은 CNC 공작기계를 이용한 기계가공의 자동화 및 작업 공간 내부에서의 오차측정이라는 시대적 조류와 함께, 기계가공 오차의 보상 제어, 혹은 형상 및 치 수의 적응 제어(Geometric Adaptive Control, GAC)는 이미 여러 선진국가에서 주목을 받아 왔고, 병기 공학을 포함한 여러 분야에서 정밀도의 향상에 대한 요구는 높아만 가고 있어 이 방향에 대한 계속적인 연구가 요망된다. 더군다나 전자 및 광전자적인 계측 제어 기구의 발달과, 저렴 하고 높은 성능의 마이크로 컴퓨터의 등장으로 GAC를 통한 정밀도 향상은 더욱 가능하여졌다.

  • 공작기계 및 측정기계 등은 여러 가지 요인에 의해서 오차를 갖게 되지만, 이들이 갖는 계통오 차는 정밀한 측정과 보정알고리즘에 의해 보정이 가능하다. 보정을 위한 측정방법은 여러 가지가 있지만 측정정밀도가 높은 헤트로다인레이저간섭계가 가장 많이 사용되고 잇다. 따라서 이글에 서는 헤트로다인레이저간섭계의 측정원리와 측정방법과 그 응용예를 소개하였다. 헤트로다인레 이저간섭계는 외부광학기를 교체하여 측정 가능한 길이, 각도, 진직도의 측정이 가능하므로 이 들에 대한 원리와 사용방법을 소개하였으며, 실예로 본 연구소에서 사용중인 제품과 개발한 제 품에 적용하여 시스템 오차의 측정방법과 보정방법을 통해 시스템의 정밀도가 향상됨을 보여 주었다. 헤트로다인레이저간섭계를 이용하여 측정시에도 측정기 자체가 갖고 있는 오차요인 즉, 빛의 속도가 일정하지 않고 공기의 습도, 온도 및 압력에 의해 결정되는 파장변화에 의한 오차와 피측정물의 온도변화에 의한 오차 등을 고려하여야 한다. 이런 이유로 측정시에는 센서를 사용 하여 현재 환경에 대한 영향을 자동으로 보상하든지 수동으로 온도 및 파장의 값을 기입하여 보정을 실시하여야 한다.

  • This paper presents a new NC machine performance test and calibration system. In order to measure NC machine erros in simpler, and less time-comsuming way, some indirect measuring systems such as circular disk system and double ball bar system have been developed instead of laser interferometer. But these indirect measuring systems have shown their limits in identifying each of NC machine error sources in absolute numerical value. Therefore, we developed an unique NC machine error measurement system which provides a simple measuring process like other conventional indirect methods and still can indentify each of NC machine error sources in absolute numerical value.

  • In this paper, a methodology of geometrical error identification and compensation for NC machine tool position. We have proposed a reference artifact with which, in measuring the coordinate system of NC machine, the robust coordinate systems are given. The coordinate system of the NC machine could be compensated successfully with the information obtained by measuring the reference artifact and our compensation algorithm. Monte Carlo simulation is used to evaluate coordinate referencing ability and, the uncertainties of the machine tool position is estimated and observed through the compensation process by simulation.

  • Thermal error compensation has been developed for CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining center with moving heat sources. The thermal error in CNC machining center has an effect on machining accuracy more than the geometric error does. Thus, temperature distributions of a spindle unit have been analyzed numerically by a Finite Differential Method and experimentally by an infrared (IR) camera in this study. A multiple variable method has been derived to estimate the thermal deformation of the machine origin stably and effectively after measuring deformation and temperature data. The experimental results for a vertical machining center have shown that the thermal errors of the machine origins were reduced more than 30% by the developed method.

  • This paper proposes a new model to compensate for errors of a five-axis machine tool. A matrix with error components, that is, an error matrix, is separated from the error synthesis model of a five-axis machine tool. Based on the kinematics and inversion of the error matrix which can be obtained not by using a numerical method, an error compensation model is established and used to calculate compensation values of joint variables. The proposed compensation model does not need numerical methods to find the compensation values from the error compensation model, which includes nonlinear equations. An experiment using a double ball-bar is implemented to verify the proposed model.

  • The use of error compensation techniques has been recognized as an effective way in the improvement of the accuracy of a machine tool. The laser measurement method for identifying position errors of machine tool has the disadvantages such as high cost, long calibration time and usage of volumetric error synthesis model. Accordingly, this paper deals with analysis of the position errors of a machine tool using ball bar test without using complicated error synthesis model. Statistical analysis method was adopted in this paper for deriving position errors using hemispherical helix ball bar test.
