미러 타입 컨쥬게이트 캠의 설계와 가공에 관한 연구 (A Study on Design and Machining of the Mirror Type of Conjugate Cam)

  • A mirror cam mechanism a kind of conjugate cam mechanism consists of two cams, two rollers, and two links. Since profiles of two mirror cam are identical, a simultaneous machining of two cams is achievable. Some machining errors on cam profiles do not result in the internal acting force, which often causes problems in high speed cam mechanism between two links. Also, since angular accelerations of two links are same, the internal acting force by the difference of the angular accelerations does not occur in the mechanism. Thus the mirror cam mechanism is very useful in high speed machinery. This paper studies a design method as well as a machining method, and develops an exclusive CAD/CAM software for mirror cam profiles. The developed CAD/CAM software is applied to a typical mirror cam mechanism and a mock-up equipment is built in order to test the machinism mirror cm. Experimental investigations show that the contact between cam surface and roller surface according to cam rotation agrees well with the simulation on the developed CAD/CAM software.

  • Most of battery industries are growing explosively as a core strategy industry for the development of the semi-conductor, the LCD, and the mobile communication device. In this thesis, dynamic characteristics of the steel can labeling machine on the automatic cell assembly line are studied. Dynamic characteristic analysis consists of dynamic behavior analysis and finite element analysis and is necessary for effective design of machines. In the dynamic behavior analysis, the displacement, velocity, applied force and angular velocity of each components are simulated according to each part. In the FEA, stress analysis, mode analysis, and frequency analysis are performed for each part. The results of these simulations are used for the design specification investigation and compensation for optimal design of cell manufacturing line. Therefore, Virtual Engineering of the steel can labeling machine on the automatic cell assembly line systems are modeled and simulated. 3D motion behavior is visualized under real-operating condition on the computer window. Virtual Prototype make it possible to save time by identifying design problems early in development, cut cost by reducing making hardware prototype, and improve quality by quickly optimizing full-system performance. As the first step of CAE which integrates design, dynamic modeling using ADAMS and FEM analysis using NASTRAN are developed.

  • 본 논문은 가변 구조 제어 시스템을 이용하여 AC Servo 모터의 원호 보간 오차를 개선하는데 목적을 두고 있다. AC Servo 모터를 사용하는 공작 기계의 동작에서 오차는 서보 드라이버의 시간 지연, 마찰, 그리고 모터의 x축 y축의 이득값이 어울리지 않는 등의 여러 요소가 있을 것이다. 본 논문에서는 슬라이딩 모드제어 시스템은 AC Servo 드라이브의 수치적 예로 응용되었다. 실험 결과 값은 전형적인 PI 제어와 비교하여 시스템의 원호 보간 오차 개선에 관한 우수성을 보여주고 있다.

연속 냉간 압연기의 H$\infty$ 제어시스템 설계 (Design of H$\infty$ Control System for Tandem Cold Mills)

  • In order to meet the requirement for higher thickness accuracy in tandem cold rolling processes, it is strongly necessary to have good performance in control units. To meet this requirement, this paper suggested an output regulating control system with a roll-eccentricity estimator for each rolling stand of tandem cold mills. Considering entry thickness variation and roll eccentricity simultaneously as the major disturbances, a synthesis of multivariable control systems was presented based on H$\infty$ control theory, which could reflect the knowledge of input direction and spectrum of disturbance signals on design. Then, to effectively reject roll eccentricity, a weight function having some poles on the imaginary axis was introduced. This lead to a non-standard H$\infty$ control problem, and the design procedures for solving this problem were analytically presented. The effectiveness of the proposed control method was evaluated through computer simulations and compared to that of the conventional linear quardratic control and feedforward control methods for roll eccentricity.

  • This paper describes the methodology of an IEC 1131-3-based control logic generator for the control system design and converting algorithm between programmable languages. The proposed control logic generator is generated based on the software model and common element with data type, variables, POUs(program organization unit) and execution control unit commonly used within programmable languages of IEC 1131-3 Standard. The generation method of object file was proposed on five programmable language based on IECI 131-3. The generation method of object file is represented as following; 1) the generation method using conversion algorithm from LD to IL with FBD(function block diagram), 2) the generation method using C code generation algorithm from SFC using the SFC execution sequence with FBD and ST(structured text). The proposed control logic generator was implemented by Visual C++ and MFC on MS-windows NT 4.0

DFSS에 의한 FPD용 높이 조절기구 설계 (Design of Height Adjustment Mechanism for Flat Panel Display by DFSS)

  • This study was carried out to minimize the lifting force and to design the slim sized frame of a height adjustment mechanism. This unit is designed for the display devices in order to enhance the ergonomics for effective height adjustment as well as to achieve much slimmer frame for the pedestal. A tolerance analysis of 6 sigma was applied to achieve smooth lift at design stage not to change the tolerance specification of gap several times in a roller type of lifting mechanism at mass production stage. The specification of minimum gap and the target of production yield ratio were agreed with a quality team before tooling. A DFSS simulation on drawings had been done with reasonable tolerance and achievable standard deviation(${\sigma}$) several times until the target specification of gap and yield ratio was met. Once tolerance and deviation(${\sigma}$) were fixed tooling start was done successfully. A CAE method was applied to achieve a slim design. Design parameters were frozen when those parameters matched the reference strength data of standard model. Through those tolerance analysis and CAE simulation the number of tool modification was reduced and production yield ratio was raised up without arguing quality specification at production stage in the end.

연료전지 전극(Cathode)의 성능해석 및 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance Analysis and Design of Cathode in Fuel Cells)

  • The cathode design is one of the most important parts in order to enhance the performance of fuel cells. A 3-D model of the porous oxygen reducing cathode with perforated current collectors is analysed for the enhanced design in fuel cells. Simulation is performed using equations of electric potential balance, momentum balance, and mass balance. The gas concentrations are quite large and are significantly affected by the reactions that take place. The weight fraction of oxygen, velocity field for the gas phase, and local overvoltage are illustrated in the porous reactive cathode layer. The current density is also analysed and the result shows the distribution and variation are stated in a wide range. It is found that the rate of reaction and the current production is higher beneath the orifice, and decreases as the distance to the gas inlet increases. The significance of the results is discussed in the viewpoint of the mass transportation phenomena, which is inferred that the mass transport of reactants dictates the efficiency of the electrode in this design and at these conditions.

공기 베어링 주축의 자동설계시스템 개발 (Development of the Automated Calculation System for Air-Bearing Spindle)

  • Recently the use of high-speed equipment in machine-tool industry has greatly increased, which requires the development of prognostics and prediction methods on the design stage. Conversion of the test/experiments stage from real to virtual reality will not only significantly reduce the design and manufacturing cost, but will also increase design quality. This paper shows how it is possible to develop the automated system for the design calculations of the air-bearing spindles. First, the general calculation method is introduced. It contains several steps, namely, geometry identification, pressure calculation, stiffiness calculation, dynamics characteristics calculation. For geometry identification reducing spindle shaft to rings was proposed, which helps to automate the calculation process. For pressure calculation the Peshti method was implemented. For stiffiness calculation the analysis was made, which shown the necessity of correct calculation step selection. Then the system of ordinary differential equations containing influence coefficients was evolved, which is used for trjectories calculation. The graphical representation of the calculation results shows the dynamic behavior of the spindle unit concerning various working conditions. Finally, this automated system is illustrated by an example of the air-bearing spindle calculation.

  • In this paper, a multi-step optimization using a G.A.(Genetic Algorithm) with variable penalty function is introduced to the structural design optimization of a high speed machining center. The design problem, in this case, is to find out the best cross-section shapes and dimensions of structural members which minimize the static compliance, the dynamic compliance, and the weight of the machine structure simultaneously. The first step is the cross-section shape optimization, in which only the section members are selected to survive whose cross-section area have above a critical value. The second step is a static design optimization, in which the static compliance and the weight of the machine structure are minimized under some dimensional constraints and deflection limits. The third step is a dynamic design optimization, where the dynamic compliance and the structure weight are minimized under the same constraints as those of the second step. The proposed design optimization method was successful applied to the machining center structural design optimization. As a result, static and dynamic compliances were reduced to 16% and 53% respectively from the initial design, while the weight of the structure are also reduced slightly.

  • A nano-imprinting stage has been widely used in various fields of nanotechnology. In this study, an analysis method of a nano-imprinting stage machine using FEM and flexible multi-body kinematics and dynamics has been presented. We have developed a virtual imprinting machine to evaluate the prototype design in the early design stage. The simulation using CAE for the imprinting machine is not only to analyze static and dynamic characteristics of the machine but also to determine design parameters of the components for the imprinting machine, such as dimensions and specifications of actuators and sensors. Structural components as the upper plate, the rotator, the shaft and the translator have been modeled with finite elements to analyze flexibility effects during the precision stage motion. In this paper flexible multi-body dynamic simulation is executed to support robust design of the precision stage mechanism. In addition, we made the 4-axis stage model to compare the dynamic behavior with that of 3-axis stage model.
