This study explores the characteristics of centrality measures for analyzing researchers' impact and structural positions in research collaboration networks. We investigate four binary network centrality measures (degree centrality, closeness centrality, betweenness centrality, and PageRank), and seven existing weighted network centrality measures (triangle betweenness centrality, mean association, weighted PageRank, collaboration h-index, collaboration hs-index, complex degree centrality, and c-index) for research collaboration networks. And we propose SSR, which is a new weighted centrality measure for collaboration networks. Using research collaboration data from three different research domains including architecture, library and information science, and marketing, the above twelve centrality measures are calculated and compared each other. Results indicate that the weighted network centrality measures are needed to consider collaboration strength as well as collaboration range in research collaboration networks. We also recommend that when considering both collaboration strength and range, it is appropriate to apply triangle betweenness centrality and SSR to investigate global centrality and local centrality in collaboration networks.

공동연구 네트워크의 대표적인 사례인 공저 네트워크는 오랫동안 네트워크 분석의 대상으로 다루어져 왔다. 최근에는 가중 네트워크로서 공저 네트워크에 대한 연구가 활발해지면서 연구자의 영향력을 측정하려는 몇 가지 척도가 제안되었다. 이 연구에서는 공저 네트워크에서의 중심성을 측정하기 위해서 사용된 척도인 가중페이지랭크, 공동연구 h-지수와 공동연구 hs-지수, 복합연결정도중심성, c-지수에 대해서 비교 분석해본다.

The rise of collaboration in science or technology has increased the need to understand collaboration networks. The purpose of this paper is to identify the structure of collaboration research networks in "The Journal of the Korean Institute of Electronic Communication Sciences". To accomplish this purpose, we have collected and analysed the data from co-authored papers published from 2006 to 2013 in this journal. It shows that there are 12 collaboration sub-networks based on the locality of authors in this journal.

국내 전력전자분야 연구기관의 공동연구 현황을 분석하기 위해 기관 간 협업현황 및 네트워크 분석을 수행하였다. 네트워크 지도로부터 지역별, 연구기관의 형태별, 학위논문 지도관계별로 공동연구 경향이 나타났으며, 네트워크 중심성 분석으로 기관별 공동연구 참여의 성향을 확인하였다.

대덕 바이오클러스터의 네트워크를 파악하기 위하여 한국특허정보원의 KIPRIS 서비스를 이용하여 한국특허정보를 분석하였다. 공동출원 한 특허에 대하여 샐튼지수(Shalton index)를 구하여 연구개발 주체 간의 연관성과 기술 간의 연관관계에 의하여 R&D network model을 제시하였다. 본 모델에 의하면 벤처기업 간 공동연구가 가장 활발하였고 벤처기업들은 대학보다는 연구기관을 선호하였다. 과학 기술지식의 산업으로의 확산을 위해서는 대학이나 출연연구소의 네트워크가 더욱 활성화되어야 한다. 일부 벤처기업이 대덕특구의 연구기관과 공동연구가 활발하였지만 특구내의 연구추체보다는 타 지역의 기업, 벤처기업, 대학과의 공동연구가 많이 이루어지고 있었다. 샐튼지수에 의하여 기술 간 연관성 분석 한 결과는 생물자원탐색 기술, 세포배양, 유전공학과 같은 기초분야를 모체로 네트워크가 형성되고 있다. 생물의약분야는 기술우위가 약하므로 이의 경쟁력 확보를 위한 네트워크가 절실히 요구되고있다. 과학기술문헌이나 특허자료를 이용한 계량서지학적 분석방법은 R&D 네트워크 구축을 위한 전략 수립에 있어 효과적인 방법으로 이용될 수 있다.

In this paper, we investigate cosponsorship networks found in the 17th National Assembly of Republic of Korea. New legislation should be sponsored by at least 10 legislators including one main sponsor. Cosponsorship networks can be constructed, using directional links from cosponsors of legislation to its main sponsor; subsequently, these networks indicate the social relationships among the legislators. We apply Exponential Random Graph Model (ERGM) for valued networks to capture structural properties and the covariate effects of networks. We find the effect of the same party has the greatest influence on the composition of the network. Mutuality also plays an important role in the cosponsorship network; in addition, the effect of the number of elections won by a legislator has a small but significant influence.

벤처캐피탈의 공동투자전략은 투자 위험의 분산과 투자 자원의 효율적 관리, 투자사에 관련된 정보비대칭 완화 관점에서 단독투자전략보다 장점이 있다. 공동투자는 다른 한편으로는 투자정보 공유 네트워크와 투자기회 확보를 위한 경쟁을 드러내 보이기도 한다. 본 연구는 2014년부터 2016년까지 3년간 공개된 한국 벤처캐피탈의 한국 스타트업에 대한 투자 정보를 수집 및 분석하여 벤처캐피탈의 투자 전략 및 네트워크에 대한 실증 분석을 수행한다. 네트워크 분석, 로지스틱 회귀분석 등을 포함한 통계적 검정을 수행한 결과 벤처캐피탈의 분야별 전문성(투자집중도), 내적역량(업력 및 전문 인력의 수), 투자 네트워크, 피투자 스타트업의 업력 모두 공동투자여부에 영향을 끼친다는 증거를 발견할 수 없었다. 본 연구의 분석 결과 한국의 벤처캐피탈이 공동투자를 결정짓는 요인은 피투자기업의 사업 분야를 제외하면 투자금액의 크기와 보유 펀드의 규모 등 자금요인이 유일했다. 이 결과가 시사하는 바는, 한국의 벤처캐피탈 대다수가 투자형태의 결정에 있어 자사의 전문성이나 피투자기업의 본연적 사업 리스크를 고려한다거나 투자 기회 정보의 공유를 통해 투자형태를 전략적으로 결정하기 보다는 단순 자금운용 측면에 경도되어 있지 않은가 하는 점이다.

국내 연구개발 활동의 다양한 구조적 특성을 파악하기 위하여 명시화된 지식인 '논문'을 중심으로 사회 네트워크 분석을 하고자 한다. 첫째, 과학기술 분야간 지식의 흐름을 네트워크 분석을 이용하여 정성적/정략적으로 분석하고 둘째, 국내 연구기관의 공동연구 현황에 대하여 공동연구 네트워크와 연구기관 중심도를 분석한다. 마지막으로 두 네트워크를 연결함으로써 다차원적인 네트워크 분석을 시도해보고, 앞으로의 기술정책의 발전방향을 모색한다.

The legislative cosponsorship network shows the legislative process of the National Assembly through the relationship between the members of the National Assembly formed by cosponsorship. This study focused on the library bill proposed during the 19th National Assembly term, and conducted the cosponsorship network analysis, the centrality analysis of actors of the National Assembly, and a subgroup analysis of keyword-centric networks. As the result of the study, the library bill's cosponsorship network was segmented according to political parties, and lawmakers who played an intermediary role in close proximity to other political party members had an important influence on the network. When restructured into a keyword-oriented network, the network structure segmented into political parties improved as members of different parties shared the same keywords and formed subgroups. Based on the results, it was suggested that a strategy for spreading and sharing policy issues based on core keywords rather than library legislation, centered on lawmakers who play a mediating role between parties, is needed to activate library legislation.

The primary purpose of this study is to identify spatial distribution patterns of co-authoring activities in Korean cadastral science. The analysis showed that a small number of researchers played an essential role in the Korean cadastral co-authorship network. In particular, some authors not only had a significant influence on other nodes in the network but also served as intermediaries between researchers. Moreover, the distance between researchers influenced co-authorship decisions to a limited extent. This study differs considerably from previous studies in that it used spatial analysis techniques to identify spatial distribution patterns of co-authoring activities. However, this research is limited in that it applied only 2019 data to determine the spatial distribution pattern of co-authoring activities. We can overcome this limitation if we analyze the spatial distribution patterns of co-authoring activities using multi-year data in future studies.
