  • An advanced method of Relaxed Static Stability (RSS) is utilized for improving the aerodynamic performance of modern version supersonic jet fighter aircraft. The laws of flight control system utilize RSS criteria in both longitudinal and lateral-directional axes to achieve performance enhancements. Particularly, the design of longitudinal control laws for utilizing RSS methods greatly affects the performance of the aircraft in Air-to-Air Tracking and Air-to-Ground modes, which improves weapon delivery. In the area of Air-to-Air Tracking, the development of longitudinal control laws aids in the fine tracking and gross acquisition of other aircraft. This paper proposes that new concept of longitudinal control law introduce in order to improve fine tracking performance in air-to-air tracking maneuver. Result of HQS pilot simulation and flight test, fine tracking performance improve without degradation of gross acquisition when new concept of control law is applied.

  • The stealth performance of supersonic aircraft in recent air battlefield is one of the most significant feature for latest fighters. Especially, as the technology is advancing, the IR stealth capability becomes more important because of its passive characteristic. To design an aircraft with stealth capability, we must know how much the IR signature is generated from the aircraft. Also, predicting the IR signature of enemy's aircraft is tactically crucial. In this study, we calculated MWIR and LWIR infrared signature of $5^{th}$ generation supersonic aircraft against air-to-air and surface-to-air threat using IR simulation code and CFD coupled procedure.

  • This paper presents to calculate the lethality of missile for the simulation test program and to verify the simulation results. In order to calculate a reliable lethality we need may data and experiments of fuse and warhead, but in reality it is hard to perform a task. Therefore, this paper obtained from the reference paper to analyze the lethality data for the calculation of the lethality. We form the 6 DOF simulation model using the MATLAB/SIMULINK. And formed the autopilot algorithm using the vertical and horizontal acceleration feedback and PNG (Proportional Navigation Guidance) command be used to the guidance algorithm. Finally, we evaluate the results about three cases, front launch, side launch and rear launch to simulate the simulation program, and the target is designed to have a constant speed and direction.

  • Characteristics of JEM(Jet Engine Modulation) are measured and principal meanings are grasped in this paper. This study's object is to measure RCS and JEM for actual aircraft, especially low speed craft. In experiment, various error are generated from unknown cause and for removal these, calibration technique known as IACT(Isolated Antenna Calibration Technique) is used. Experiment is executed at outdoor and target is T-103 which play in beginner course for ROKAF pilot. JEM spectrum of T-103 and frequency characteristics, doppler effects are extracted. X-band used in military aircraft for air-to-air fighting are selected. The data obtained through this study are analyzed to discriminate target especially low speed aircraft for current using radar(X-band)'s performance.

  • Crosswell seismic data were acquired in three sections crossing a tunnel of 3 different types; one was empty, another was ailed by sand, and the other was filled by rock debris. Both the P- and S-wave first arrivals were picked and the traveltime tomography was conducted to generate the P- and S- wave velocity tomograms on the all three sections. Among six tomograms, only one tomogram shows a low velocity zone that can be interpreted as a tunnel image. The tomogram is the P wave velocity image of a section that crosses an empty tunnel. The result of numerical analysis for the spatial resolution of the traveltime tomography was consistent to this finding.

  • Airborne radar usually use MPRF(medium PRF) waveforms to detect and track look-down or all-directions air-to-air targets. To use MPRF waveforms, airborne radar have to operate optimal PRF schedules and select optimal PRFs able to detect look-down air-to-air targets, overcoming look-down clutter and resolving range/velocity ambiguities. In this paper, we propose a real-time search method for the optimal(and sub-optimal) PRFs able to detect and track targets in real-time change of situation for MPRF pulsed-Doppler airborne radars.

  • The heat transfer process with boiling on a fin cannot be treated in a conventional manner of assuming a constant heat transfer coefficient. This report proposes a simplified method for determining fin performance. The heat transfer coefficients in boiling region is approximated by n ty power function of superheat. The results yield the temperature gradient as a function of superheat, fin width, and thermal conductivity of the fin. Computed results for water boiling on fin compare favorably with those obtained from a small-increment numerical solution.
