  • The air suspension system is widely used in commercial vehicles such as buses or special purpose trucks because it improves ride better than any other types of suspension. Since the durability of vehicle parts is directly related to the safety, the evaluation of the durability at the design stage is necessary. In this research, the fatigue life of the air suspension frame for trucks is predicted by the modal stress recovery(MSR) method. Using the process proposed in this research, the fatigue life of vehicle parts can be predicted efficiently at the design stage.

  • This paper presents the performance of a full vehicle MR suspension system at different tire pressure. The pressure of tire is related to tire stiffness, which is significantly affects the performance of suspension system. Therefore, in this research, the effectiveness of tire pressure on full vehicle MR suspension is evaluated. As a first step, the characteristic of tire with respect to pressure is experimentally tested and modeled. After that, the governing equation of MR damper and full vehicle MR suspension system are derived. The skyhook controller is implemented and the vibration control performance of full vehicle MR suspension is evaluated via simulation with respect to the tire pressure.

  • Numerical simulation has been made on the performance of an oil free air compressor for automotive electronic air suspension system. Calculation results on the flow rate at various air supply pressures were reasonably well compared to the experimental data. With the aid of the computer simulation program, parametric study on the compressor design parameters has also been carried out for the compressor performance improvement: Increase in the discharge port diameter or discharge valve stiffness was found to be effective to increase the flow rate per unit compressor input for the present compressor model.

  • Air springs are prevalently used as suspension in train. However, air springs are seldom used in automobiles where they improve stability and comfort by enhancing the impact-relief, breaking, and cornering performance. Thus, this study proposed a new method to analyze air springs and obtained some reliable design parameter which can be utilized in vehicle suspension system in contrast to conventional method. Among air spring types of suspension, this study focused on sleeve type of air spring as an analysis model since it has potential for ameliorating the quality of automobiles, specifically in its stability and comfort improvement by decreasing the shock through rubber sleeve. As a methodology, this study used MARC, as a nonlinear finite element analysis program, in order to find out maximum stress and maximum strain depending on reinforcement cord's angle variation in sleeves. The properties were found through uniaxial tension and pure shear test, and they were developed using Ogden Foam which is an input program of MARC. As a result, the internal maximum stresses and deformation according to the changes of cord angle are obtained. Also, the results showed that the Young's modulus becomes smaller, then maximum stresses decrease. It is believed that these studies can be contributed in automobile suspension system.

캡슐트레인 주행 동특성 분석을 위한 축소 시험장치의 개발 (Development of the Small Scale Testbed for Running Dynamic Characteristics Analysis of the Capsule Train)

  • 공기 저항이 적은 아진공 상태의 튜브 안을 주행함으로써 초고속주행이 가능한 캡슐트레인은 부상 공극이 커서 인프라 건설 비용 절감에 유리한 초전도 유도 반발식 부상을 채택하고 있다. 초전도 유도 반발식 부상은 부상 공극을 크게 할 수 있고, 별도의 공극 제어가 필요 없는 장점이 있는 반면, 공극 변동량이 크고 부상력에 댐핑 특성이 작기 때문에 차량의 주행 안정성 및 승차감이 악화 될 수 있다. 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위해서는 차량의 주행 동특성에 기반한 주행안정화장치를 설계하고 적용하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 캡슐트레인의 동특성을 모사하고 주행안정화장치의 성능을 사전에 검토할 수 있는 1/10 스케일의 축소형 시험장치를 개발하였다. 시험장치는 대차의 모션을 구현할 수 있는 6 자유도 스튜어트 플랫폼, 주행안정화장치가 적용된 2차 현가장치 및 차체로 구성되어 있다. Jaschinski가 제안한 동특성 상사 법칙에 따라 축소 시험장치를 제작하였고, 가이드웨이 불규칙도와 부상 강성이 반영된 대차 모션 구현 알고리즘을 적용하였다. 제작된 시험장치를 이용한 실험을 통해 얻어진 결과와 수치해석 결과와의 비교를 통해 시험장치의 성능을 검토하였다.

  • Shock and vibration characteristics of a tractor-trailer type vehicle system with air suspension and air coupler running on a single bump road are investigated. The vehicle system is modelled and solved to two types of models, i.e. rigid-multi-body and flexible-multi-body model, by ADAMS and NASTRAN software. And the shock impulse is given by a single bump model on the road. When the analysis results of the rigid-multi-body model is compared with those of the flexible-multi-body model, it is revealed that the vibration and accelerations of the latter model are more repetitive and larger than the former.

  • 지하철 전동차에는 2 차 현가장치인 공기스프링의 횡강성 저하특성을 보강하기 위해 대차와 차체 사이에 횡댐퍼를 설치하게 되는데, 이 횡댐퍼는 주행 시 차체의 횡진동을 감소시키는 역할을 수행한다. 그러나, 횡댐퍼의 감쇠력이 저하될 경우 전동차의 주행안정성과 승차감이 함께 악화되며, 차체의 횡방향 운동이 증가되는 요인으로 작용하게 된다. 본고에서는 전동차 주행 시 비정상적으로 발생하는 충격에 대하여 그 원인을 살펴보고 해결방안을 마련하고자 횡댐퍼의 감쇠력에 따른 차체의 횡변위를 동역학 시뮬레이션을 통해 검토하였으며, 그에 따라 충격에 의한 이상진동 및 소음의 발생 유무를 파악하였다. 그로부터 충격이 발생되지 않는 적정 감쇠력을 구하고자 하였다.
