A Study on Determining the Size of the Interface Inductor for Grid-Connected Micro-Sources (Micro-Source의 계통 연계용 인덕터 크기 선정에 관한 연구)

  • The concept of the Micro-Grid comprising Micro-Sources supplying both heat and power ranging from several [KW] to 1[MW] to local customers is proposed by CERTS(Consortium for Electric Reliability Technology Solutions). Micro-Sources adopt environmentally friendly and reliable power sources such as Fuel-Cell and Micro-Turbines. Micro-Sources adopt voltage source inverter with AC grid system in order to provide independent real and reactive power control for premium power quality. Thus Micro-Source needs series inductance for interfacing with AC grid system. With this reason, we propose a technique that can decide the optimal size of the inductor for effective transfer of the power into the grid.

  • 고빈도 환기법은 최근에 개발되어 임상에 응용되면서 호흡생리학, 마취학, 집중치료의 학등의 분야에서 호흡부전의 새로운 치료법으로 관심이 집중되고 있는 환기법이다. 현재까지 고빈도 환기법중 고빈도 양압 환기와 제트 환기는 비교적 많은 연구가 되고 있고 임상적으로 사용되고 있으나 고빈도 진동 환기법은 제한적으로 사용되고 있다. 앞으로 고빈도 진동 환기법에 대해서도 더 많은 연구가 되어야 할 것이다. 또한 최근 개발되고 있는 고빈도 흉벽 진동 환기와 체표면 진동 환기에도 관심을 기울이면 호흡부전 환자의 치료에 바람직한 새로운 환기법이 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 현재 고빈도 환기법의 몇몇 적용형태는 기관지-늑막루등의 폐압손상으로 인한 병변의 치료외에도 기관수술, 흉부수술, 뇌수술에서 수술부위의 움직임을 최소화시키면서 충분한 가스교환율 이룩할 수 있어서 효과적으로 이용되고 있다. 그러나 응급심폐소생술, 폐쇄성 폐질환, 성인 또는 영아 호흡곤란증후군등과 같은 질환에서의 적용은 더 규명되어져야겠다. 고빈도 환기법의 여러가지 문제점중 적절한 환기빈도의 결정, 충분한 습도를 공급하는 장치, 고빈도 환기의 정확한 감시장치의 개발등은 앞으로 우선적으로 해결해야 할 문제점이다. 또한 임상에 더욱 효과적으로 응용될 수 있는 새로운 환기법이 되기 위해서는 고빈도 환기법의 호흡생리와 안정성등에 관한 연구도 병행되어야겠다.

Java Aglet-based Design for Electronic Commerce System (전상거래 시스템 구축을 위한 자바 애글릿 기반 설계)

  • Electronic commerce offers the opportunity to integrate and optimize the global production and distribution supply chain. Rapid response to changes in demand and customer preference, and the ability to exploit new technologies, are becoming critical. The computer of the various corporations communicate with each other to determine the price and the availability of the components, to place and confirm orders, and to negotiate delivery time scales. In this paper, We describe a trading system that is based on mobile agent technology, called aglet. Aglets for the buyer and sellers are dispatched to the various marketplace, where they negotiate autonomously orders and deliveries, returning to the buyer and seller with their best deals for approval. We show that the electronic commerce system is feasibly built by using the Java aglet technology to demonstrate for simulating a traditional retail marketplace.

  • When solving the problems of electric power quality the converters with high Power factor are useful for the DC arc furnace power supply. In this paper, resonant converters of 50(60) Hz AC to DC arc described, where in each period of network voltage the capacitor and inductor of an oscillatory circuit are switched from series into parallel and vice versa parametrically. The duration of series and parallel connection and also the transformation ratio are dependent on load. Parallel oscillatory circuit restricts the short circuit current. These converters have high power factor from no-load to short-circuit and fit very well to supply are furnaces.

Illumination simulation for selective application and energy saving of solar cells in single-span glass greenhouse (단동식 유리온실에서 태양전지의 선별적 적용과 에너지 절감에 관한 조도 시뮬레이션)

  • In this study, when applying LED light sources within a single-span glass greenhouse for growing crops, the illumination simulation was performed on the ceiling and side of the glass greenhouse to determine the selective placement and effective light transmission of Si series solar cells and dye-sensitive solar cells (DSSC) for supplying LED power source. In addition, energy saving effects of glass greenhouses were analyzed for optimum lighting control when both daylight and LED light sources are considered in glass greenhouses.

A Dynamic Voltage Scaling Algorithm for Low-Energy Hard Real-Time Applications using Execution Time Profile (실행 시간 프로파일을 이용한 저전력 경성 실시간 프로그램용 동적 전압 조절 알고리즘)

  • Intra-task voltage scheduling (IntraVS), which adjusts the supply voltage within an individual task boundary, is an effective technique for developing low-power applications. In this paper, we propose a novel intra-task voltage scheduling algorithm for hard real-time applications based on average-case execution time. Unlike the conventional IntraVS algorithm where voltage scaling decisions are based on the worst-case execution cycles, tile proposed algorithm improves the energy efficiency by controlling the execution speed based on average-case execution cycles while meeting the real-time constraints. The experimental results using an MPEG-4 decoder program show that the proposed algorithm reduces the energy consumption by up to 34% over conventional IntraVS algorithm.

  • This paper deals with the optimal on-line real time voltage regulation methods in power distribution systems interconnected with the Distributed Generation(DG) systems. In order to deliver suitable voltage to as many customers as possible, the optimal sending voltage should be decided by the effective voltage regulation method by using artificial neural networks to consider the rapid load variation and random operation characteristics of DG systems. The results from a case study show that the proposed method can be a practical tool for the voltage regulation in distribution systems including many DG systems.

  • The reliability of a power system has close relationship with the maintenance of the distribution systems. This paper presents the method of the maintenance planning of the distribution systems by minimizing the interruption cost. The interruption cost for the equipment failures is formulated using time varying failure rate and minimized by optimization of the object function. The proposed method provides the priority list for the investment of the maintenance subject to the limited investment budget by the economic analysis. In order to test the proposed method, the modified distribution system of a rural area is introduced for the testing system. Test results show that the proposed method is good enough by evaluating the improvement of the reliability of the power system.

  • RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) is now being applied in the lots of fields as an alternative of barcode system. However, it is restricted within product manufacturing, sales, and delivery parts. In this paper, research results regarding an actual progress of an RFID-based system and its effect are described. In addition, this paper confirms that the RFID-based process of manufacture gives much better return of investment than the barcode-based one. Therefore, the results of this paper are highly expected to contribute to make many people, who might hesitate to replace the barcode and apply RFID system to the process of manufacture, a positive decision.

Maximum Capacity-based Minimum Cut Algorithm (최대 수용량-기반 최소절단 알고리즘)

  • The minimum cut problem is to minimize c(S,T), that is, to determine source S and sink T such that the capacity of the S-T cut is minimal. The flow-based algorithm is mostly used to find the bottleneck arcs by calculating flow network, and does not presents the minimum cut. This paper suggests an algorithm that simply includes the maximum capacity vertex to adjacent set S or T and finds the minimum cut without obtaining flow network in advance. On applying the suggested algorithm to 13 limited graphs, it can be finds the minimum cut value $_{\min}c$(S, T) with simply and correctly.
