A Method for Selective Storing and Visualization of Public Big Data Using XML Structure (XML구조를 이용한 공공 빅데이터의 선별 저장 및 시각화 방법)

  • In recent years, there have been tries to open public data from various government agencies along with publicization of public information for the public interest. In other words, various kinds of electronic data generated and collected by the public institutions as a result of their work are opened in the public portal sites. However, users who use it are limited in their use of big data due to lack of understanding of data format, lack of data processing knowledge, difficulty in accessing and managing data, and lack of visualization data to understand collected and stored data. Therefore, in this study, we propose a big data collection, storing and visualization platform that can collect big data provided by various public sites using data set URL and API regardless of data format, re-process collected data using XML structure.

Application of Crime Prevention Design based on Public Data Analysis: Focusing on Seoul (공공데이터분석 기반 범죄예방환경설계 적용 : 서울시 중심으로)

  • Violent crimes have increased continuously due to the development of urban society and have become a threatening factor against the residential safety of citizens. The prevention of these crimes is always a major topic in human society and one of the fundamental elements of the quality of life and safety of citizens. In recent years, much attention has been paid to environmental design through the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) as a preventive measure. Currently, South Korea is promoting the openness and utilization of public data, and crime prevention is one of the fields that can utilize public data actively. This approach to crime prevention utilizing public data will be helpful for the proposal of policies from new viewpoints departing from the general utilization measures of CPTED that improve streetlights and closed-circuit television (CCTV) installations, whose limitations have been pointed out as they are only mechanical surveillance. Thus, this study sets the research scope based on the statistics of the status of five criminal offenses by administrative district in recent years provided by the data portal in Seoul City, the capital of South Korea, as the utilization data and concentrates on the analysis. Based on the analysis results, this study proposes a method to utilize classical music as a new policy for regions where the improvements are most needed. The open-source Python analysis program was employed as the main data analysis and visualization method.

  • The demand for spatial information in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution is expanding Additionally, interest in attribute data related to geography or location is increasing. In the field of spatial information, spatial information policies and services tailored to the public can be provided through linkage and integration with new attribute data, and these data are resources for this purpose. In order to meet this expanding and diverse demand for spatial information utilization, it is necessary to develop technologies for linking and utilizing various attribute information such as public data. In this study, we aim to present a technology development strategy for linking and integrating attribute data and spatial information through a review of theories related to data linkage and integration, the current status of data on public data portals, and existing prior research. As a result, it was suggested that the data identifier of the attribute data to be linked should be used to develop linkage technology between spatial information and attribute data, and an attribute data linkage process that can be used when designing a prototype for technology development was presented.

  • In today's data-driven society, we've been hearing a great deal about the power of Big Data over the last couple of years. At the same time, it has become the most important issue that the problems is caused by the data collection, management and utilization. Moreover, Big Data has a wide applications ranging from situation awareness, decision-making to the area to enable for the foreseeable future with man-made and analysis of data. It is necessary to process data into meaningful information given that the huge amount of structured and unstructured data being created in the private and the public sector, even in disaster management. This data should be public and private sector at the same time for the appropriate linkage analysis for effective disaster management. In this paper, we conducted a literature review and case study efficient Big Data to derive the revitalization of national disaster management. The study obtained data on the role and responsibility of the public sector and the private sector to leverage Big Data for promotion of national disaster management plan. Both public and private sectors should promote common development challenges related to the openness and sharing of Big Data, technology and expansion of infrastructure, legal and institutional maintenance. The implications of the finding were discussed.

  • 안전한 도시환경에 대한 관심이 증가하면서 다양한 안전도 측정 모델을 통해 안전도를 측정하여 범죄 예방활동, 재난예측 분야에 적용하고 있다. 안전도 측정 모델을 통해 도로의 안전도 수치를 정량화하여 안전도관련 데이터가 맵핑된 지도와 같은 실제 보행자가 이용할 수 있는 서비스에 대한 필요가 증가하고 있다. 기존의 모델은 적용분야가 구체적이지 않고 모델을 서비스에 적용하기가 어렵고 정량화된 값을 제시하는 모델이 없어 수치가 의미하는 바를 명확히 알 수 없다. 따라서 공공데이터를 활용하여 "도로 안전지수 측정모델"을 개발하여 값을 얻고 이를 구성하는 각각의 공공 데이터를 지도상에 보여주고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 캠핑 입문자가 캠핑 관련 정보를 직관적이고 편리하게 확인하고 공유할 수 있도록 돕는 웹 응용 서비스를 개발하였다. 카카오맵 API를 통해 지도를 표시하고 공공데이터 포털의 Open REST API 중 하나인 한국관광공사 고캠핑 정보 조회서비스_GW를 활용하였다. 개발된 웹 응용 서비스를 통하여 캠핑 입문자들도 국내의 캠핑장 데이터를 지도에서 손쉽게 검색하고 커뮤니티를 통해 이를 교류할 수 있도록 하는 것에 목적을 두었다.

A Study on the Improvement of Entity-Based 3D Artwork Data Modeling for Digital Twin Exhibition Content Development (디지털트윈 전시형 콘텐츠 개발을 위한 엔티티 기반 3차원 예술작품 데이터모델링 개선방안 연구)

  • Recently, a number of virtual reality exhibition-type content services have been produced using archive resources of visual art records as a means of promoting cultural policy-based public companies. However, it is by no means easy to accumulate 3D works of art as data. Looking at the current state of metadata in public institutions, there was no digitalization of resources when developing digital twins because it was built based on old international standards. It was found that data modeling evolution is inevitable to connect multidimensional data at a capacity and speed that exceeds the functions of existing systems. Therefore, the elements and concepts of data modeling design were first considered among previous studies. When developing virtual reality content, when it is designed for the migration of 3D modeling data, the previously created metadata was analyzed to improve the upper elements that must be added to 3D modeling. Furthermore, this study demonstrated the possibility by directly implementing the process of using newly created metadata in virtual reality content in accordance with the data modeling process. If this study is gradually developed in the future, metadata-based data modeling can become more meaningful in the use of public data than it is today.

Intellectual Structure Analysis on the Field of Open Data Using Co-word Analysis (동시출현단어 분석을 이용한 오픈 데이터 분야의 지적 구조 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine recent trends and intellectual structures in research related to open data. To achieve this, the study conducted a search for the keyword "open data" in Scopus and collected a total of 6,543 papers from 1999 to 2023. After data preprocessing, the study focused on the author keywords of 5,589 papers to perform network analysis and derive centrality in the field of open data research and linked open data research. As a result, the study found that "big data" exhibited the highest centrality in research related to open data. The research in this area mainly focuses on the utilization of open data as a concept of public data, studies on the application of open data in analysis related to big data as an associated concept, and research on topics related to the use of open data, such as the reproduction, utilization, and access of open data. In linked open data research, both triadic centrality and closeness centrality showed that "the semantic web" had the highest centrality. Moreover, it was observed that research emphasizing data linkage and relationship formation, rather than public data policies, was more prevalent in this field.

The Status and Suggestions for Big Data Adaptation in the Government and the Public Agency (정부 및 공공기관에서의 빅데이터 활용에 대한 현황 및 실행방안 제안)

  • Volume in data storage is growing more than ever before. This phenomenon is caused by the participation of governments and firms as well as general users. As for big data, governments and public agencies are likely to play important roles in applications since they can access and operate personal data for public purposes. In this study, the author examined the status and countermeasure of big data from different countries and drew some common grounds. The suggestions are as follows. First of all, securing manpower and technology have to take precedence. In addition, share and development between the government and the private sector are required. And organizations should come up with long-term strategies along with the development of data loading and analysis. In conclusion, the author propose the recognition of the importance of data management, privacy protection and the expansion of field application possibilities for political usage of big data.
