The Characteristics of properties torrefied product according to Food waste and sewage sludge mixing ratio (음식물류폐기물과 하수슬러지 혼합비율에 따른 반탄화 생성물의 연료적 특성비교)

  • This Study is to into fuel using a torrefation reaction to food waste. When the fuel of only food waste alone, fuel value is was performed at a ratio of sewage sludge constant attempts to prevent low. Mixing ratios of food waste and sewage sludge, 10:0, 8:2, 6:4, 5:5. Regardless mixing ratio, it was possible to confirm that decreases the moisture content of 10% or less at a reaction temperature of $240^{\circ}C$ or higher. As the ratio of the reaction temperature and the sewage sludge is high, the fixed carbon content is increased. It was measured at up to 36%(mixing ratios6:4, reaction temperature $270^{\circ}C$) from the initial 1.1%. From the reaction temperature $240^{\circ}C$ satisfied with 3000Kcal/Kg or more is a SRF criteria shows the calorific value. It was possible to obtain a heating value that is increased from the raw sample approximately sextuple. As reaction temperature is heightened, Van krevelen Diagram moved to the range of Lignite range. It was possible to obtain high fuel ratio and 5,500Kcal/kg or less of a combustility index as the sewage sludge mixing ratio becomes high. Increase the fixed carbon content, than those food waste alone solid fuel into and improved fuel costs, it is necessary to ensure that the quality of the fuel is improved.

Evaluation of Hydrothermal Carbonization Characteristics for Solid Fuel Conversion of Cow Manure (우분의 고형연료화를 위한 수열탄화 특성 평가)

  • As of 2020, 139,753 tons/day of livestock manure is generated. Most of the livestock manure is made of compost(75.3%) and Liquor(11.7%) and is spread on farmland. The compost and Liquor of these livestock manure are the main causes of water pollution. Therefore, it is necessary to convert livestock manure into energy. For this reason, hydrothermal carbonization technology was applied to evaluate the physical and chemical properties. Among livestock manure, cow manure was used. Through hydrothermal carbonization, it was confirmed that the HHV (Kcal/kg) of 3,101 kcal/kg of raw material rises to more than about 3,800 kcal/kg at 220℃ or higher. This result was judged to be influenced by carbonization through a clear trend of decrease in O/C and H/C ratios. As a result, the value of Bio-SRF was evaluated through hydrothermal carbonization of cow manure, and All other items except for chlorine showed satisfactory results.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the feasibility of Multi Process of Aerobic Digestion (MPAD) for recycling of swine manure slurry as fertilizer. MPAD consisted of three kinds of difference process which are thermophilic aerobic oxidation (TAO) system, lime solidification system, and reverse osmosis (R/O) membrane system. TAO system was studied well previously for decade. The chemical composition of the lime-treated solid fertilizer was as like that organic matter 17.4%, moisture 34.1%, N 0.9%, P 1.7%, K 0.3%, Ca 12.7%, and which was expected to be useful as acid soil amendment material. The concentrated liquid material produced by R/O membrane system was also expected as a good fertilizer for crops production and soil fertility improvement.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the integrated biomass strategies for utilization and application characteristics in Hokkaido prefecture, japan. From the results, to achieve a successful operation of biomass recycling facilities, it previously needs the effective byproduct supplying construction system for field demander as well as the advanced environmental technology introduction. Especially, the value-promotion recycling technology were requested as follows; (1) production of functional solid composting for protection soil acidification, (2) the addition of soil microorganism to the production of liquid fermentation fertilizer, (3) construction of diverse energy supply system, (4) mixed organic material fermentation process concerning on heavy metal concentration, (5) introduction of incentive garbage collection system for contaminants prevention.

Studies on the Compositional Change of Composts During Mushroom Cultivation (양송이 재배(栽培)에 따른 재배상퇴비(栽培床堆肥)의 성분변화(成分變化)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • In order to investigate the compositional change oil composts during the growing of cultivated mushroom (Agaricus bisporus), composts and mushrooms during the period of filling to ending under commercial conditions were subjected to chemical analyses. The results are summarized as follows and the mechanism of composting for mushroom cultivation was proposed. 1) The temperature change of growing bed and room was observed and the yield of mushroom for each cropping time was recorded to get $15.6kg/m^2$ in total crops. 2) Composts after filling showed pH 8.2 which dropped to 6.4 after casing and continued so up to ending. 3) On the dry weight basis of composts, crude ash increased whereas total nitrogen, ether extract and crude fibre decreased gradually to bring about the lowering of organic matter. 4) Total nitrogen of composts decreased gradually and more insoluble nitrogen was lost than soluble nitrogen. The C/N ratio of composts was initially 21 which was gradually lowered to 16. 5) The losses of ${\alpha}-cellulose$, pentosan and lignin in composts were 87%, 75%, and 60%, respectively, in which ${\alpha}-cellulose$ decreased markedly after casing. 6) Free reducing sugars of composts increased continuously. Gradually increased free amino acids till second cropping decreased again thereafter. Composts at the filling stage contained alanine, glutamic acid, glycine and serine in which glycine decreased markedly whereas proline increased remarkably upon mushroom cultivation. 7) Among minerals of composts, phosphorus and zinc tended to decrease, potassium and copper tended to increase anti sodium showed no marked change. 8) In comparison of mushrooms from different cropping time with respect to proximate composition, minerals, free reducing sugars and amino acids, no marked difference was observed. However, a little higher values were observed in crude fat, free reducing sugars and sodium content for early crops and in free amino acids and phosphorus content for late crops. Twelve free amino acids including alanine, serine, threonine, and glutamic acid were detected in the cultivated mushroom. 9) According to above experimental results, it was possible to support the mechanism of compositing that the formation of ammonia and decomposition of carbohydrates by mesophiles are followed by protein biosynthesis, formation of microbial bodies and nitrogen-rich lignin humus complex by thermophiles, thus supplying necessary nutrients for mushroom growth, along with residual carbohydrates.

Development of an Solid Separation System for Pig Slurry (돈 슬러리용 고형물 분리시스템 개발)

  • This study was conducted to develope the new solid separating system which can be efficiently and economically removed the solid parts in high pollutants concentration of pig slurry. The pollutants concentration, BOD$_{5}$ , COD and SS of the slurry used in this study was 15,990($\pm$2,389)mg/l, 20,004($\pm$5,512)mg/l and 26,486($\pm$5,935)mg/l, respectively. After removal of solid part in slurry, the pollutants concentration, BOD$_{5}$, COD and SS was change into 5,617($\pm$690)mg/l, 5,553($\pm$633)mg/land 1,456($\pm$341)mg/l, respectively in the Fixed biological membrane tank. The reduction of the pollutants concentration of suspend liquid through membrane will be allowed to greatly improve the water purification by an Activated sludge method. This separating system consisted of a temporary storage, a circulating tank and a Fixed Biological membrane tank. A temporary storage which has a draining system of screw type and an aeration device played a tremendous role in draining the solid by filled an aeration of 0.3 l/min. A Fixed Biological membrane tank of which a styrofoam filled in a 2/3 volume as a Biological media was fixed by a stainless steel net (pore size : 0.5mm) to separate the liquid layer of influx in them. The separating system efficiency factors were the speed of screw motor, cycle number of slurries in a circulating tank and moisture contents of solid effluent through the screw path. Although the pollutants concentration was very variable in temporary storage, the final concentration of $BOD_5$ and SS, except COD of the suspended liquid in a Fixed biological membrane were not different regardless of cycle number of a circulating tank. Moisture contents of effluent from temporary storage was 73% under the speed 1 ppm of screw motor and 62% under the 1/4rpm of it.

  • 네팔 지방자치단체의 고형폐기물 관리 부서는 도시계획 및 개발국이나 환경위생 부서 또는 일반 복지 부서에서 담당한다. 네팔에는 폐기물관련법과 기준, 지침이 제정되어 있으며 지방자치단체법에 의해 지방자치단체 여건에 맞게 관련 법률 조항을 개정할 수 있다. 네팔에서 발생하는 가정폐기물의 65%는 유기성 폐기물이나, 폐기물 관리는 아직 체계화되지 않고 있다. 지방 NGOs와 일부 부락이 분리수거와 퇴비화를 실시하고 있으나 병원폐기물과 같은 유해폐기물의 경우 병원이 자체적으로 소각하고 있으며 지방자치단체의 의해 적절히 처리되지 않고 있다. 현재 네팔에서는 폐기물이 비위생 매립 방식에 의해 처리되고 있어서 지방자치단체에서 이를 금지하고 위생매립지를 확대 설치할 계획이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 기술 및 전문인력, 예산의 부족, 민간자본 및 시민들의 참여 부족으로 인해 지방자치단체가 설정한 폐기물관리 목표를 달성하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 네팔 지방자치단체들이 당면한 시급한 과제는 지속가능한 폐기물관리 계획 및 전략의 수립이다. 네팔 지방자치단체의 폐기물관리 계획은 폐기물의 적정 처리를 위한 제도적 측면의 강화는 물론, 폐기물 분리 배출 및 수거에 시민들의 동참을 이끌어내고 이해관계자의 참여 확대, 폐기물 처리 비용, 폐기물 처리를 위한 적정기술의 개발과 같은 내용을 포괄할 수 있어야 한다.

Occurrence and Distribution of Selected Veterinary Antibiotics in Soils, Sediments and Water Adjacent to a Cattle Manure Composting Facility in Korea (국내 우분 퇴비화 시설 인근 농경지 및 수계 중 Tetracycline 및 Sulfonamide 계열 항생물질의 분포특성)

  • There has been increased concern regarding the release of antibiotics to different environmental compartments due to the possibility of the development of antibiotic resistant bacteria. However, limited information is available regarding the occurrence, fate, and transport of antibiotics in Korea in both the aqueous phase and in solid phases such as sediment and soil. Therefore, this study was conducted to monitor the concentration of released antibiotics in surface water, sediment, and soil adjacent to a cattle manure composting facility in Korea. Specifically, the following six antibiotics were monitored: tetracycline (TC), chlortetracycline (CTC), oxytetracycline (OTC), sulfamethazine (SMT), sulfamethoxazole (SMX), and sulfathiazole (STZ). To extract and quantify the antibiotics from different environmental compartments, solid phase extraction (SPE) and high performance liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (HPLC/MS) techniques were adopted. The concentration of the six antibiotics ranged from below the detection limit (BDL) to 0.71 ${\mu}g$/L in surface water, from BDL to 27.61 ${\mu}g$/L in sediment, and from 0.12 to 157.33 ${\mu}g$/L in soil. In addition, higher concentrations of antibiotics were observed in surface water and sediment at locations closer to the composting facility indicating that composting is the source of the antibiotics found in the environment. Furthermore, higher concentrations of antibiotics were observed in the solid phase (sediment and soil) than the aqueous phase. These findings indicate that the possibility of antibiotic resistant bacteria is increased because such bacteria are more stable in the solid phase. Overall, longterm monitoring of the aqueous phase and solid phase is necessary to gain a better understanding of the impact of antibiotics from source on the environment in Korea.

  • Biogasification is a technology that produces environmentally friendly fuel using methane gas generated in the process of stably decomposing and processing organic waste. Biogasification is the most used method for energy conversion of organic waste with high moisture content, and is a useful method for organic waste treatment following the prohibition of direct landfill (2005) and marine dumping (2013). Due to African Swine Fever (ASF), which recently occurred in Korea, recycling of wet feed is prohibited, and consumers such as dry feed and compost are negatively recognized, making it difficult to treat food waste. Accordingly, biogasification is attracting more attention for the treatment and recycling of food waste. Korea's energy consumption amounted to 268.41 106toe, ranking 9th in the world. However, it is an energy-poor country that depends on foreign imports for about 95.8% of its energy supply. Therefore, in Korea, the Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard (RPS) is being introduced. The domestic RPS system sets the weight of the new and renewable energy certificate (REC, Renewable energy certificate) of waste energy lower than that of other renewable energy. Therefore, an additional incentive system is required for the activation of waste-to-energy. In this study, the operation of an anaerobic digester that treats food waste, food waste Leachate and various organic wastes was confirmed. It was intended to be used as basic data for preparing the waste-to-energy incentive system through precise monitoring for a certain period of time. Four sites that produce biogas from organic waste and use them for power generation and heavy gas were selected as target facilities, and field surveys and sampling were conducted. Basic properties analysis was performed on the influent sample of organic waste and the effluent sample according to the treatment process. As a result of the analysis of the properties, the total solids of the digester influent was an average of 12.11%, and the volatile solids of the total solids were confirmed to be 85.86%. BOD and CODcr removal rates were 60.8% and 64.8%. The volatile fatty acids in the influent averaged 55,716 mg/L. It can be confirmed that most of the volatile fatty acids were decomposed and removed with an average reduction rate of 92.3% after anaerobic digestion.

  • 가축배설물(家畜排泄物)의 콤포스트화(化) 작업(作業)의 공학적(工學的)인 국면(局面)은 축산(畜産) 경영(經營)의 축산물(畜産物) 생산성(生産性), 에너지 보전(保全), 공해방지(公害防止)와 분뇨처리(糞尿處理)의 노력(勞力) 절약(節約)에 긴밀(緊密)한 관계(關係)가 있다. 그러나 우리나라에 있어서 축산업(畜産業)의 사양(飼養) 규모(規模)와 두수(頭數)는 매년(每年) 증가(增加)하고 있는 경향(傾向)인바 전통적(傳統的)인 가축(家畜) 배설물(排泄物) 처리(處理) 및 재이용(再利用) 과정(科程)에서 발생(發生)되는 문제점(問題點)에 대(對)한 연구(硏究) 자료(資料)가 없고 특(特)히 콤포스트화(化) 작업(作業)이 원시적(原始的)이므로 개선(改善) 확립(確立)이 절실(切實)히 요구(要求)되는 실정(實定)이다. 본(本) 연구(硏究)의 목적(目的)은 가축(家畜) 분뇨(糞尿)의 콤포스트화(化) 작업(作業) 과정(科程)에서 공학적(工學的)인 제(諸) 문제점(問題點)을 조사(調査) 분석(分析)하여 현상(現狀)을 평가(評價)하고 개선(改善) 방안(方案)을 모색(摸索)하기 위한 기본자료(基本資料)를 제공(提供)하고져 수행(遂行)하였다. 이에 관한 조사(調査)와 분석(分析) 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 1. 축산농가(畜産農家)의 가축(家畜) 배설물(排泄物) 처분(處分) 방법(方法)은 대부분(大部分)이 자연건조(自然乾燥), 퇴적(堆積), 혐기적(嫌氣的)인 고형(固形) 또는 액상(液狀) 퇴비화(堆肥化)에 의하여 실시(實施)되고 있었으며 가축분뇨(家畜糞尿)로 인(因)한 공해(公害)는 심각(深刻)하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 2. 호기성(好氣性) 야적(野積) 콤포스트의 통기작업(通氣作業)은 트랙터에 부착(附着)되어진 전후(前後) 작동식(作動式) 로우더가 바람직하다. 3. 농축산(農畜産) 폐기물(廢棄物)의 콤포스트화(化) 작업(作業)은 축산농가(畜産農家)를 중심(中心)으로 한 콤포스트 센타에서 전체 농가(農家)가 지방(地方) 증진(增進)과 오염(汚染) 방지(防止)를 하기 위해 참여(參與)하여 완전(完全) 공동(共同) 이용(利用) 체계에 따라 일관성(一貫性)있게 수행(遂行)되어야 한다. 4. 호기성(好氣性) 야적(野積) 콤포스트 작업(作業)은 다른 방법(方法)에 비하여 운영비(運營費)가 적게 들어 영세적(零細的)인 축산업(畜産業)의 경우(境遇)에 가장 적당(適當)하고 공해(公害)를 방지(防止)함으로서 한국(韓國) 축산농가(畜産農家)의 콤포스트화(化) 시설(施設)로 전망(展望)이 밝다고 판단(判斷)된다.
