The Effects of High Fidelity Simulation-Based Education on Communication Self-Efficacy, Communication Competence and Educational Satisfaction in Nursing Students (고충실도 시뮬레이션을 활용한 심정지 응급간호교육이 간호 대학생의 의사소통 자기 효능감, 의사소통능력 및 교육만족도에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of high fidelity simulation-based education for cardiac arrest emergency nursing applied to nursing students on communication self-efficacy, communication competence, and educational satisfaction. For this study a nonequivalent control group non-synchronized post-test design was used. Participants were 42 nursing students who attended in one university and completed the self-report questionnaire. Data were analyzed through frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, x2 test, and independent t-test using the SPSS 22.0 program. As a result, communication self-efficacy (t=2.87, p=.007), communication competence (t=2.96, p=.005) and educational satisfaction (t=4.75, p=<.001) were significantly higher than in the control group after high fidelity simulation-based education. High fidelity simulation-based education for cardiac arrest emergency nursing was able to improve communication self-efficacy, communication competence, and educational satisfaction for nursing students.

The Change of perception according to the fidelity of simulation in Objective Structured Clinical Examination for Procedural Skill of 4th Medical Students (의전원 4학년 학생의 과정기술 객관구조화진료시험에 도입된 시뮬레이션의 충실도에 따른 인식 변화)

  • The 4th year medical students were randomly divided and designated as group HF and LF, representing high and low fidelity simulations respectfully. Both groups performed OSCE on 2 topics(adult intubation and IV cannulation) with each composed of the same scenario. Each scenario was developed by a faculty in charge of clinical skill education with supervision from 2 other faculty members. High fidelity simulations were designed as in-situ simulations in real OR. Low fidelity simulations had the same scenarios but the environment was simulated only with a simple task trainer in the classroom. All students participated in series of survey using a Likert scale before and after the simulations. The provided data was anlayzed with paired T-test and Mann-Whiteney test(p<0.05). The post simulations self evaluation score for group HF was lower than pre-simulation self confidence score for both topics of adult intubation and IV cannulation where as for group LF, it was lower only for adult intubation(p<0.05). In group HF, the needs for clinical training on both topics increased after the simulation. In group LF, there was no significant change of needs for clinical training between pre and post simulation survey. This suggest that fidelity may be a helpful factor to improve the motivation of the students and further study on economical aspect should be addressed.

Effects of Maternity Nursing Simulation using High-fidelity Patient Simulator for Undergraduate Nursing Students (고충실도 시뮬레이터를 활용한 모성간호 시뮬레이션 교육의 효과)

  • This study examined the effectiveness of maternity nursing simulations using a high-fidelity simulator for undergraduate nursing students. One-group pretest-posttest design was used. The simulation-based education program consisted of three sessions, including the clinical scenarios about prenatal, childbearing and postpartum care. The program provided for 3 weeks in November 2014. Data was collected before and after the simulation education using self-reported questionnaires, which included simulation effectiveness, problem solving ability, communication skills and self-confidence in maternity nursing. The data of 83 participants were analyzed using the IBM SPSS 20.0 program. After simulation education, the overall score of the simulation effectiveness was 17.4 out of 26.0. Communication skill (t=4.58, p=<.001) and self-confidence in maternity nursing (t=9.70, p=<.001) increased significantly in the posttest. On the other hand, there was no significant change in the problem solving ability. The simulation effectiveness correlated significantly with the problem solving ability (r=.494, p<.001), communication skill (r=.361, p<.001), and self-confidence in maternity nursing (r=.497, p<.001) after simulation-based education. These findings suggest that the high-fidelity simulation in maternity nursing education could be used not only to enhance the nursing competency, but also to deal with the limitations of the clinical practicum in the current situation.

A Study on the Effectiveness of Advanced Life Support Education and Reeducation Program Based on High-Fidelity Simulation (고충실도 시뮬레이션 기반 전문소생술 교육과 재교육 효과 연구)

  • This study was attempted to confirm the effectiveness and continuity of education by providing a simulation-based advanced life support education program to fourth-year nursing students and measuring the knowledge of professional CPR immediately after and after 5 months of training. After 5 months of conducting high-fidelity simulation-based professional CPR training, the results of knowledge measurement after retraining using video and training for team approach simulation were 19.23±1.923 in the experimental group and 16.03±2.752 in the control group(p.=<001). The effect of continuing education in the experimental group decreased from 22.30±1.473 to 19.23±1.923. Through the research results, the effect of professional CPR education consisting of theoretical lectures, skill practice, and team-based simulation practice was confirmed. However, the effect of continuing education after 5 months decreased, confirming the necessity of regular retraining. In other words, professional CPR education based on high-fidelity simulation is a very effective teaching method, but it is difficult to expect continued effects with one-time education, so periodic retraining is required.

  • 지반 침하 및 액상화 등에 따른 과도한 상대변위로 인한 매립배관 시스템의 손상을 저감시키기 위해 종종 벨로우즈 신축이음관은 사용된다. 벨로우즈 신축이음관의 성형과정에서 회선의 벽두께 감소와 같은 구조적인 불확실성이 발생할 수 있으며 특히, 벽두께 감소는 벨로우즈 신축이음관의 성능에 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 매립배관 시스템의 효율적인 유지관리를 위해 회선의 벽두께 감소에 의한 벨로우즈 신축이음관의 성능평가는 필요하다. 하지만 회선의 벽두께 감소가 벨로우즈 신축이음관의 성능에 미치는 영향을 조사하는 연구는 미미하다. 따라서 본 연구는 기초적인 연구로써 고충실도 유한요소 모델을 이용하여 단조하중을 받는 벨로우즈 신축이음관의 벽두께 감소에 의한 성능을 평가하고 민감도 분석을 수행하였다. 각 회선의 벽두께 감소를 20%로 적용하였을 때 최대하중은 약 3% 감소하는 것으로 나타났으며 2번 회선의 벽두께 감소가 최대하중 감소에 비교적 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

  • IT와 건설 산업간 융합의 대표적 사례로서 유비쿼터스 도시의 개념이 도입된 이후 현재 여러 지자체에서 u-City 구축이 확산되고 있다. 한편, u-City에 구축된 첨단 인프라의 활용성을 극대화하여야 한다는 부담감이 다양한 u-서비스에 대한 고민으로 이어 졌으며, 이로부터 u-디바이스간 협업의 개념이 파생되었다. u-디바이스간협업의 예로는 공공장소에서의 개인 미디어 재생과 같은 응용이 자주 거론되고 있다. 그러나 음향 미디어의 재생에 있어서는 그 재생의 품질이 서비스의 만족도에 중요한 역할을 할 것이다. 이에 본고에서는 하이파이 재생 시스템의 모델로부터 고충실도 음향 재생을 위한 기능요소를 추출하고, 이를 기반으로 하이파이 응용을 위한 u-서비스 제공 구조를 제시하고자 한다.

The Effects of High Fidelity Simulation-Based Education on Clinical Competence and Confidence in Nursing Students: A Systematic Review (고충실도 시뮬레이션 기반 교육이 간호학생의 임상수행능력과 간호수행 자신감에 미치는 효과: 체계적 문헌 고찰)

  • The purpose of this review was to evaluate the effects of simulation-based education on clinical competence and confidence in nursing students and summarize the available evidence on the simulation-based intervention. A systematic review using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses: the PRISMA Statement was conducted. Studies published between 2005 and 2014 were reviewed using the following databases: RISS, KISS, and Google Scholar. The keywords used were nursing and either simulation or simulator. Selected studies were assessed for methodological quality using Quality Assessment Tool for Quantitative Studies. Seventeen studies were identified, including a total of 1,912 nursing students. All the 16 studies found simulation as a valid strategy on clinical competence and confidence in nursing education. This review provides updated evidence for simulation-based learning in nursing education. Further studies are needed to increase generalizability using randomized controlled trials, enough sample size, and longitudinal study design. In addition, valid measurements are needed to assess the main outcomes.

Development of an Integrated High Fidelity Helicopter and Engine Simulation for Control System Design (헬리콥터용 가스터빈 엔진의 제어기 설계를 위한 고충실도 통합 시뮬레이션 개발)

  • Full authority digital engine control systems for gas turbine engines are replacing conventional mechanical control units rapidly. However, setting up design processes of controllers for high performance helicopter engines are not well known because of the complexity of the total system. This paper presents a high fidelity helicopter and engine simulation for control system design and analysis. Using this environment, a feedforward schedule was set up for a utility helicopter. The total engine simulation with the new controller showed better or equal performance compared to the total engine simulation with the pre-existing controller.

Effects of High-fidelity Simulator and Standardized Patient on Nursing Care for Children with Fever in Nursing Students (고충실도(High-fidelity) 시뮬레이터와 표준화 환자 (Standardized Patient)를 활용한 발열환아 간호 교육의 효과)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the effects of simulation-based education using high-fidelity simulator and standardized patient in nursing care for children with fever on nursing students. Methods: A total of 166 senior nursing students who completed pediatric nursing practicum courses participated in this study. The single group study design with pretest and posttest was used. The simulation education was provided for 200mins including orientation, simulation preparation, simulation practicum, and debriefing. Pre and post surveys were performed using questionnaires on clinical performance competency, communication skills, critical thinking disposition and self-confidence. Results: The mean scores of clinical performance competency (t=-2.56, p<.05), communication skills (t=-6.39, p<.001), critical thinking disposition (t=-3.43, p<.001), and self-confidence (t=-3.72, p<.001) in posttest were significantly higher than those in pretest. Also, clinical performance competency in nursing care for children with fever has significant relationships with communication skills, critical thinking disposition and self-confidence. Conclusion: The results indicate that simulation-based education using high-fidelity simulator and standardized patient is an effective strategy for improving clinical performance competency, communication skills, critical thinking disposition and self-confidence in nursing students. Further study is needed to verify the effects.

  • CAE 와 같은 고충실도 대용량 엔지니어링 데이터의 시공간 정밀 분석검증을 위해서는 고해상도 몰입형 가시화 기술과 더불어 이를 직관적이고 효율적으로 제어하기 위한 휴먼 인터페이스 기술이 중요하다. 최근 대중화에 근접한 HMD 기기 및 컨트롤러를 이용한 응용 연구가 발표되고 있고, 이를 통해 엔지니어 위주의 정적 분석환경을 벗어나, 설계/해석/운용 전문가들의 동적 협업분석 환경 제공이 가능한 몰입형 가시화 환경 및 휴먼 인터페이스 기술이 적용되고 있다. 하지만 CAE 해석지원을 위한 대화면 몰입형 가시화 환경에서 사용가능한 직관적 인터페이스기술에 대한 연구는 미진한 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 신체의 자연스러운 움직임으로 가상현실을 탐색하고 데이터 조작을 구현할 수 있는 몰입형 가시화 전용의 휴먼 인터페이스 및 연동기술에 대한 연구과정을 소개한다.
