We propose a technique for finding the worst case response time (WCRT) of a DMA request that is needed in the schedulability analysis of a whole real-time system. The technique consists of three steps. In the first step, we find the worst case bus usage pattern of each CPU task. Then in the second step, we combine the worst case bus usage pattern of CPU tasks to construct the worst case bus usage pattern of the CPU. This second step considers not only the bus requests made by CPU tasks individually but also those due to preemptions among the CPU tasks. finally, in the third step, we use the worst case bus usage pattern of the CPU to derive the WCRT of DMA requests assuming the fixed-priority bus arbitration protocol. Experimental results show that overestimation of the DMA response time by the proposed technique is within $20\%$ for most DMA request sizes and that the percentage overestimation decreases as the DMA request size increases.

This paper proposes to select Measure of Performance(MOP) for object attainment in the counterfire operation and deduce the reasonable combination of blue force's hitting resources satisfying MOP's optimal value and regression equation for the object achievement time. Also, in the study-methodological perspective, a series of procedures for drawing the regression equation from the real world is presented. Firstly the model was made by simplifying the weapon-system information of red force and blue force, then the time for object attainment was derived from its simulation. Simulating the model for the counterfire operation was divided into three phases-detection, decision and hitting. The probability method by applying the random numbers were used for detection, fixed constant numbers for decision and hitting. The simulation was repeatedly performed to get the minimum time for the object attainment against the fixed enemy, and it was estimated as the optimal value of simulation. From this result, the optimum combination of blue force's weapon system against the red force and finally, the regression equation were obtained by using the response surface analyzing method in MINITAB. Thereafter this equation was completely verified by using 'the 2-sample t-test.' As a result, the regression equation is suitable.
Implant placement may be restricted by anatomical and/or financial limitations in restoring a completely edentulous arch, or the patients' unwillingness to have extensive surgical procedures. Implant assisted removable partial dentures (IARPD) in combination with anterior fixed implant prostheses can be proposed as an alternative treatment option for the restoration of a completely edentulous arch. In this case, a 56-year-old female patient who has a fully edentulous maxilla opposed by partially edentulous mandible was treated. The treatment option for the maxilla consisted of an implant-assisted removable partial denture supported by four anterior fixed implant prostheses. The mandible was restored with 8 anterior fixed partial dentures and posterior fixed implant-supported prostheses. Long-term follow-up and supportive periodontal treatment were performed for 9 years, and the patient was satisfied with the overall appearance as well as masticatory function.
In this paper, the fine dust (PM10) and ultrafine dust (PM2.5) measurement platforms are designed to be mobile and fixed using oneM2M, the international standard for IoT. The fine dust measurement platform is composed and designed with a fine dust measurement device, agent, oneM2M platform, oneM2M IPE, and monitoring system. The main difference between mobile and fixed is that the mobile uses the MQTT protocol for interconnection between devices and services without blind spots based on LTE connection, and the fixed uses the LoRaWAN protocol with low power and wide communication range. Not only fine dust, but also temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, volatile organic compounds (VOC), carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and noise data related to daily life were collected. The collected sensor values were managed using the common API provided by oneM2M through the agent and oneM2M IPE, and it was designed into four resource types: AE and container. Six functions of operability, flexibility, convenience, safety, reusability, and scalability were analyzed through the fine dust measurement platform design.
A phase-locked loop (PLL)-based frequency synthesizer is proposed for a system on a chip (SoC) using multi-frequency clock signals. The proposed PLL-based frequency synthesizer consists of a charge pump PLL which is implemented by a phase frequency detector (PFD), a charge pump (CP), a loop filter, a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), and a frequency divider, and an edge combiner. The PLL outputs a 12-phase clock by a VCO using six differential delay cells. The edge combiner synthesizes the frequency of the output clock through edge combining and frequency division of the 12-phase output clock of the PLL. The proposed PLL-based frequency synthesizer is designed using a 55-nm CMOS process with a 1.2-V supply voltage. It outputs three clocks with frequencies of 166 MHz, 83 MHz and 124.5MHz for a reference clock with a frequency of 20.75 MHz.
Vascular complications following a femoral fracture are rare but can result in serious issues. Several case studies have reported pseudoaneurysms occurring after direct trauma or the insertion of a proximal femoral nail in the case of a proximal femoral fracture. The authors encountered an 85-year-old patient treated with retrograde intramedullary nail fixation for a distal femur fracture and suffered a decrease in the hemoglobin level, swelling, and pain on the 9th day after surgery. The authors initially attributed the temporary hematoma and pain to ordinary postoperative processes. On the 16th day after surgery, a pseudoaneurysm originating from the descending branch of the lateral femoral convolutional artery was diagnosed and treated by percutaneous vascular embolization. After the procedure, the hemoglobin level increased, and the swelling and pain decreased.
This study investigated how dietary fat affects muscle atrophy and lipid metabolism in various muscles during hindlimb immobilization in rats. Twenty-four male Sprague?Dawley rats had their left hindlimb immobilized and were divided into four groups by dietary fat content and composition. The contralateral hindlimb (control) was compared with the immobilized limb in all dietary groups. Rats (n = 6/group) were fed a 4% corn oil diet (CO), 2.6% corn oil + 1.4% fish oil diet (FO), 30% corn oil diet (HCO), or a 30% beef tallow diet (HBT)after their hind limbs were immobilized for 10 days. Data were collected for the gastrocnemius, plantaris and soleus muscles. Muscle atrophy was induced significantly after 10 days of hindlimb immobilization, resulting in significantly decreased muscle mass and total muscle protein content. The protein levels of peroxisome proliferator activated receptor ${\delta}$ (PPAR${\delta}$) in the plantaris, gastrocnemius, and soleus increased following hindlimb immobilization irrespective of dietary fat intake. Interestingly, the PPAR${\delta}$ mRNA level in the plantaris decreased significantly in all groups and that in the FO group was lower than that in the other groups. The soleus PPAR${\delta}$ mRNA level decreased significantly following hindlimb immobilization in the FO group only. Muscle carnitine palmitoyl transferase 1 (mCPT1) mRNA level was not affected by hindlimb immobilization. However, the mCPT1 mRNA level in the FO group was significantly lower in the plantaris but higher in the soleus than that in the other groups. The pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase 4 (PDK4) mRNA level in the plantaris decreased significantly, whereas that in the soleus increased significantly following hindlimb immobilization. The plantaris, but not soleus, PDK4 mRNA level was significantly higher in the FO group than that in the CO group. The increased PPAR${\delta}$ protein level following hindlimb immobilization may have suppressed triglyceride accumulation in muscles and different types of dietary fat may have differentially affected muscle atrophy according to muscle type. Our results suggest that ${\omega}$-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids may suppress muscle atrophy and lipid accumulation by positively affecting the expression level and activity of PPAR${\delta}$ and PPAR${\delta}$-related enzymes, which are supposed to play an important role in muscle lipid metabolism.
Retrostpective study of two groups of patients was conducted to evaluate the physiologic drift of the mandibular teeth following the extraction of four first premolars. The concept of physiologic drift, commonly referred to as 'driftodontics', following first premolar extractions has been gaining acceptance in the orthodontic community, the exact nature and amount of drift has not been adequately documented. There were also no guide lines as to when drift should be allowed to now. The purpose of this study was to quantify physiologic drift of the untreated mandibular dentition following extraction of the four first premolars during the early permanent and late permanent dentition stages. The early permanent dentition extraction sample(Group 1) included 26 Patients and the mean age at pretreatment was approximately 13.5 years. The observation period following extraction was approximately 6.96 months. The late permanent dentition extraction sample(Group 2) included 31 patients. The mean age at pretreatment was 21.3 years, followed by a observation period of 7.26 months. During the observation period, except for the extractions, no other mandibular therapy was rendered. Pre-and post-treatment lateral cephalograms and dental casts were analyzed. The obtained results were as follows 1. Group 2 showed marked changes in movements of the mandibular incisors and canines but minimal changes in molars. 2. The amount of changes in movements of the mandibular incisors and canines were significantly greater in Group 1 than in Group 2. The results showed no differences in rates of molar movements between groups. 3. Physiologic drift of the dentition produced desirable changes such as decreased Incisor Irregularity.
Statement of problem: Pier abutments act as a Class I fulcrum lever system when the teeth are incorporated in a fixed partial denture with rigid connectors. Therefore non-rigid connector incorporated into the fixed partial denture might reduce the stresses created by the leverage. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate, by means of finite element method, the effects of non-rigid connectors and supporting alveolar bone level on stress distribution for fixed partial dentures with pier abutments. Material and methods: A 2-dimensional finite element model simulating a 5-unit metal ceramic fixed partial denture with a pier abutment with rigid or non-rigid designs, the connector was located at the distal region of the second premolar, was developed. In the model, the lower canine, second premolar, and second molar served as abutments. Four types of alveolar bone condition were employed. One was normal bone condition and others were supporting bone reduced 20% height at one abutment. Two different loading conditions, each 150 N on 1st premolar and 1st molar and 300N on 1st molar, were used. Results: Two types of FPD were displaced apically. The amount of displacement decreased in an almost linear slope away from the loaded point. Non-rigid design tended to cause the higher stresses in supporting bone of premolar and molar abutments and the lower stresses in that of canine than rigid design. Alveolar bone loss increased the stresses in supporting bone of corresponding abutment. Conclusion: Careful evaluation of the retentive capacity of retainers and the periodontal condition of abutments may be required for the prosthetic design of fixed partial denture with a pier abutment.
Macroamylasemia is a benign condition characterized by abnormally large-sized serum amylase; it has been reported to occur in 1-2% of the population. In macroamylasemia, a macromolecular complex consisting of amylase linked to immunoglobulins circulates in the plasma and usually causes hyperamylasemia with low or normal amylasuria. Macroamylasemia is extremely rare in children. We report a case of a 4-year-old girl with abdominal pain and macroamylasemia, who was initially misdiagnosed as having acute pancreatitis. Failure to immediately identify macroamylase as the cause of the unexplained but benign hyperamylasemia can lead to the misdiagnosis of the condition, necessitating costly analyses for ruling out pancreatic disease and unnecessary prescriptions such as fasting and intravenous replacement therapies, as was observed in our patient.
