Spatial-Sensor Observation Service for Spatial Operation of GeoSensor (GeoSensor의 공간연산을 확장한 Spatial-Sensor Observation Service)

  • Advances in science and technology have made a lot of changes in our life. Especially, sensors have used in various ways to monitor in real time and analyze the world effectively. Traditional sensor networks, however, have used their own protocols and architecture so it had to be paid a lot of additional cost. In the past 8 years, OGC and ISO have been formulating standards and protocols for the geospatial Sensor Web. Although the OGC SWE initiatives have deployed some components, attempts have been made to access sensor data. All spatial operations had to calculate on the client side because traditional SOS architecture did not consider spatial operation for GeoSensor. As a result, clients have to implement and run spatial operations, and it caused a lot of overload on them and decreased approachableness. In this paper we propose S-SOS for in-situ and moving GeoSensor that extends 52 North SOS and provides spatialFilter and spatialFinder operations. The proposed S-SOS provides an architecture that does not need to edit already deployed SOSs and can add spatial operations as occasion. Additionally we explain how to express the spatial queries and to be used effectively for various location based services.

The Remote Control of a Flyback Converter using an Inexpensive Microcontroller (저가형 마이크로 콘트롤러를 이용한 Flyback 컨버터의 원격제어)

  • Differently from an existing analog control, because the digital control includes microprocessor basically, the digital control is enable to monitor internal parameters of DC-DC converter and to control output voltage remotely by communicating with a Windows based PC. These things are impossible in an analog control and there are more advantages in a digital control than an analog control. In this paper, with the advantages mentioned above, the feasibility of digital controlled DC-DC converter in low price is proposed. In order to implement these functions, it is used the inexpensive H8/3672 made by Renesas that has built in AD converters and PWM logic generators. The proposed digital controller is applied to a flyback converter that is designed to output DC 5[V] from DC 20∼30[V] and is remotely controlled to make variable outputs from DC 0[V] to 5[V] above in PC. The PWM controller adopts the PD controller in PID. In the last, the response characteristics of a step reference voltage and in a steady state are experimented to verify the feasibility and the usefulness of the proposed flyback converter that is implemented inexpensively.

Local Fault Detection Technique for Steel Cable using Multi-Channel Magnetic Flux Leakage Sensor (다채널 자속누설 센서를 이용한 강케이블의 국부 단면손상 검색)

  • In this study, Multi-Channel Magnetic Flux Leakage(MFL) sensor - based inspection system was applied to monitor the condition of cables. This inspection system measures magnetic flux to detect the local faults(LF) of steel cable. To verify the feasibility of the proposed damage detection technique, an 8-channel MFL sensor head prototype was designed and fabricated. A steel cable bunch specimen with several types of damage was fabricated and scanned by the MFL sensor head to measure the magnetic flux density of the specimen. To interpret the condition of the steel cable, magnetic flux signals were used to determine the locations of the flaws and the level of damage. Measured signals from the damaged specimen were compared with thresholds set for objective decision making. In addition, the magnetic flux density values measured from every channel were summed to focus on the detection of axial location. And, sum of flux density were displayed with threshold. Finally, the results were compared with information on actual inflicted damages to confirm the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed cable monitoring method.

Magnetoresistive Properties of Array IrMn Spin Valves Devices (어레이 IrMn 스핀밸브 소자의 자기저항특성 연구)

  • To develop array magnetic sensors, specular-type giant magnetoresistive- spin valve (GMR-SV) film of Glass/Ta(5)MiFe(7)/IrMn(10)NiFe(5)/$O_2$/CoFe(5)/Cu(2.6)/CoFe(5)/$O_2$/NiFe(7)/Ta(5)(nm) was deposited by using a high-vacuum sputtering system. One of 15 way sensors in the area of $8{\times}8mm^2$ was Patterned a size of $20{\times}80{\mu}m^2$ in multilayer sample by Photo-lithography. All of 15 sensors with Cu electrodes were measured a uniform magnetic properties by 2-probe method. The highest magnetic sensitivity of MR and output voltage measured nearby an external magnetic field of 5 Oe were MS = 0.5%/Oe and ${\triangle}$V= 3.0 mV, respectively. An easy-axis of top-free layers of $CoFe/O_2/NiFe$ with shape anisotropy was perpendicular to one of bottom-pinned layers $IrMn/NiFe/O_2/CoFe$. When the sensing current increased from 1 mA to 10 mA, the output working voltage uniformly increased and the magnetic sensitivity was almost stable to use the nano-magnetic devices with good sensitive properties.

Investigation on the Residual Stress Relaxation according to Annealing Condition for Transparent Injection Molded Part (투명한 사출성형품에서 어닐링 조건에 따른 잔류응력 이완에 관한 연구)

  • Residual stress is developed in the injection molded articles during the molding process due to temperature variation and shear stress. The residual stress causes the deformation and warpage in the injection molded parts shortly within several days or after several years. Therefore, the injection molding conditions should be optimized to reduce the residual stress. And residual stress in the part should be also relaxed after molding process to maintain its shape. According to the annealing conditions, such as relative humidity, temperature and time, this study investigates the relaxation of residual stress generated in the transparent injection molded specimens. Through the experimental results, it was realized that the residual stress was relaxed at a relative humidity higher than 50%. Utilizing photoelasticity equipment, it was found that the residual stress was rapidly relaxed near glass transition temperature. Additionally, we recognized that the specimen shrunk along the flow direction but expanded to the perpendicular direction of the flow during the annealing processes, which resulted in the warpage of the specimen.

  • An aquifer thermal energy storage (ATES) system can be very cost-effective and renewable energy sources, depending on site-specific parameters and load characteristics. In order to develop the ATES system which has certain hydrogeological characteristics, understanding the thermohydraulic process of an aquifer is necessary for a proper design of an aquifer heat storage system under given conditions. The thermohydraulic transfer for heat storage was simulated according to two sets of simple pumping and waste water reinjection scenarios of groundwater heat pump system operation in a two-layered aquifer model. In the first set of the scenarios, the movement of the thermal front and groundwater level was simulated by changing the locations of injection and pumping wells in a seasonal cycle. However, in the second set the simulation was performed in the state of fixing the locations of pumping and injection wells. After 365 days simulation period, the shape of temperature distribution was highly dependent on the injected water temperature and the distance from the injection well. A small temperature change appeared on the surface compared to other simulated temperature distributions of 30 and 50 m depths. The porosity and groundwater flow characteristics of each layer sensitively affected the heat transfer. The groundwater levels and temperature changes in injection and pumping wells were monitored and the thermal interference between the wells was analyzed to test the effectiveness of the heat pump operation method applied.

Factors influencing population dynamics of herons in rice paddy at different time scales (다른 시간 단위에서 백로류 개체군 변동과 그 결정 요인)

  • Multiple temporal scale can be a useful method to understand population dynamics in ecosystem. The multi-temporal scale approach for population dynamics has rarely been researched till lately. This study was carried out to identify the factors in affecting the population dynamics of herons, including Eastern Cattle Egret (Bubulcus coromadus), Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea), Great Egret (A. alba), Intermediate Egret (Egretta intermedia) and Little Egret (E. garzetta), at rice paddy fields of Seokmun-myeon in the city of Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province during the main breeding periods from 2014 to 2017. We identified the population dynamics of herons at different time interval (day and month) using the unmanned monitoring system. As a result, monthly population dynamics was mostly affected by time, mean temperature and mean precipitation, whereas daily population dynamics was affected by mean temperature and habitat types. The results suggest that there are differences in the factors affecting the population dynamics of herons according to the time scale.

  • The detection of crop stress is an important issue for the accurate assessment of yield decline. The photochemical reflectance index (PRI) was developed as a remotely sensed indicator of light use efficiency (LUE). The PRI has been tested in crop stress detection and a number of studies demonstrated the feasibility of using it. However, only few studies have focused on the use of PRI from remote sensing imagery. The monitoring of PRI using drone and satellite is made difficult by the low spectral resolution image captures. In order to estimate PRI from multispectral sensor, we propose a band fusion method using adjacent bands. The method is applied to the drone-based hyperspectral and multispectral imagery and estimated PRI explain 79% of the original PRI. And time series analyses showed that two PRI data (drone-based and SRS sensor) had very similar temporal variations. From these results, PRI from multispectral imagery using band fusion can be used as a new method for evaluation of crop stress.

Transport and optical properties of indium tin oxide films fabricated by reactive magnetron sputtering (제작 온도 및 산소 분압에 의존하는 인듐 주석 산화물의 전기적, 광학적 성질)

  • Indium tin oxide (ITO) thin films (170 nm) were grown by DC magnetron sputtering deposition on Coming glass substrates without a post annealing. The electrical transport and optical properties of the films have been investigated as a function of deposition temperature $T_{s}$ (10$0^{\circ}C$$\leq$ $T_{s}$$\leq$35$0^{\circ}C$) and oxygen partial pressure $P_{o_{2}}$, (0 $P_{o_{2}}$ $\leq$ 10$^{-5}$ torr). Films were deposited from a high density (99% of theoretical density) ITO target (I $n_2$ $O_3$: Sn $O_2$= 90 wt% : 10 wt%) made of ITO nano powders. With an increase of $T_{s}$ the electrical resistivity p of ITO thin films was found to decrease, but the mobility $\mu$$_{H}$ was found to increase. The carrier density nu shows the maximum value of 6.6$\times$10$^{20}$ /㎤ at $T_{s}$ = 30$0^{\circ}C$. At fixed Is, with an increase of the oxygen partial pressure, $n_{H}$ and $\mu$$_{H}$ were found to decrease, but p was found to increase. The minimum resistivity and maximum mobility values of the ITO films were found to be 0.3 mΩ.cm and 39.3 $\textrm{cm}^2$/V.s, respectively. The visible transmittance of the ITO films was above 80%.. 80%..

Crop Monitoring Technique Using Spectral Reflectance Sensor Data and Standard Growth Information (지상 고정형 작물 원격탐사 센서 자료와 표준 생육정보를 융합한 작물 모니터링 기법)

  • Accordingly, attention is also being paid to the agricultural use of remote sensing technique that non-destructively and continuously detects the growth and physiological status of crops. However, when remote sensing techniques are used for crop monitoring, it is possible to continuously monitor the abnormality of crops in real time. For this, standard growth information of crops is required and relative growth considering the cultivation environment must be identified. With the relationship between GDD (Growing Degree Days), which is the cumulative temperature related to crop growth obtained from ideal cultivation management, and the vegetation index as standard growth information, compared with the vegetation index observed with the spectralreflectance sensor(SRSNDVI & SRSPRI) in each rice paddy treated with standard cultivation management and non-fertilized, it was quantitatively identified as a time series. In the future, it is necessary to accumulate a database targeting various climatic conditions and varieties in the standard cultivation management area to establish a more reliable standard growth information.
