Petri Net Modeling of Database System Reliability (데이터베이스 시스템 신뢰도를 위한 페트리 네트 모델링)

  • In this paper, we present a Petri Net (PN) model for reliability analysis of fault-tolerant database system models that consists of components one shared memory, bus, processors and database (disk). Each component can be failed and repaired individually. The system is operational as long as database and one of component is operational. We develop Stochastic Reward Net (SRN) Model for reliability analysis of database system. SRN is potential to define various reward functions. and can be easily used to obtain performance measures. The modeling techniques using variable cardinality, enabling function, timed transition priority in SRN are shown.

  • 본 연구에서는 텔레메트리 처리장치의 고장 발생 원인과 복구 대책별로 장단점을 분석한 후 신뢰성 증대를 위하여 메시지 접근 방식을 제안하였으며 이를 객체지향적 방법론에 따라 UML 툴을 활용하여 모델링을 하였다.

  • The demands of IC card payment system has been increased according to the rapid advancement of the IT convergence application technologies. Recently IC card payment systems are in demands of the usage space at anytime and anywhere by developing the wireless communication technology and its related multimedia processing technology. Therefore the security of IC card payment system becomes more important and necessary. There are many fault analysis methods to evaluate the security and safety of information systems according to their characteristics and usages. However, the only assessment method to evaluate the security of information systems is not enough to analyse properly on account of the various types and characteristics of information systems by the progress of IT convergence and their applications. Therefore, this paper proposes an integrative method of the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Fault Modes and Effect Analysis/Criticality (FMEA/C) based on criticality to evaluate and improve the security of IC card payment system as an illustration.

  • Even networks were introduced as a class of fault-tolerant multiprocessor networks and analyzed so many useful properties and algorithms such as simple routing algorithms, maximal fault tolerance, node disjoint path. Introduced routing algorithms and node disjoint path algorithms are proven to be optimal. However, it has not been introduced to constructing scheme for edge-disjoint spanning trees in even networks. The design of edge-disjoint spanning trees is a useful scheme to analyze for measuring the efficiency of fault tolerant of interconnection network and effective broadcasting. Introduced routing algorithm or node disjoint path algorithm are for the purpose of routing or node disjoint path hence they are not applicable to constitute edge disjoint spanning tree. In this paper, we show a construction algorithm of edge-disjoint spanning trees in even network $E_d$.

  • 배전케이블 수 트리 현상은 XLPE케이블의 고장을 초래하는 주요원인이다. 수 트리에 기인한 신호는 아주 미세하여 현장진단은 배경 잡음으로 인해 검출이 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 고주파특성이 우수한 L-C결합센서를 사용하여 방전신호를 측정하고 이를 주파수영역에서의 분석을 통해 현장에서 부분방전이 발생하기 훨씬 이전에 존재하는 미세신호(Pre-Discharge)를 검출하고 분석한 결과를 제시하였다. 케이블 내 수(水) 트리가가 존재하면 이것이 이종 절연물의 경계면 역할을 하석 서-지 임피던스의 차이로 인해 케이블 단자에서 발생하는 전기적 신호가 수 트리 지점에서 다수의 반사를 일으켜 그 잡음 수준을 높이는 역한을 하게 되는 것으로 알려져 있다. 만일 여러 개소에 수 트리가 존재하는 경우에는 그 배경잡음을 현저하게 높이는 결과를 보여주었다. 실험실에서 발생하는 미세 신호와 현장의 신호를 비교한 결과 아주 유사한 패턴이 있음이 파악되어 이 방법은 수 트리의 활선 진단이 가능함을 확인시켜 주었다.

  • Recently software security of the smart phone is an important issue in the field of information science and technology due to fast propagation of smart technology in our life. The smart phone as the security critical systems which are utilizing in terminal systems of the banking, ubiquitous home management, airline passengers screening, and so on are related to the risk of costs, risk of loss, risk of availability, and risk by usage. For the security issues, software hazard analysis of smart phone is the key approaching method by use of observed failures. In this paper, we propose an efficient integrative framework for software security analysis of the smart phone using Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) to gain a convergence security and reliability analysis technique on hand handle devices. And we discuss about that if a failure mode effect analysis performs simpler, not only for improving security but also reducing failure effects on this smart device, the proposed integrative framework is a key solution.

  • These days, the teaching and learning system has been increasing for the rapid advancement of the information technologies. We can access education systems of good quality anytime, anywhere and we can use the individually personalized teaching and learning system depending on developing the wireless communication technology and the multimedia processing technology. The more the various systems develop, the more software security systems become important. There are a lot kind of fault analysis methods to evaluate software security systems. However, the only assessment method to evaluate software security system is not enough to analysis properly on account of the various types and characteristic of software systems by progressing information technology. Therefore, this paper proposes an integrative method of Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Fault Modes and Effect Analysis(FMEA) to evaluate the security of e-teaching and learning system as an illustration.

Reliability Analysis Modeling of Communication Networks Considering Rerouting (재경로 설정을 고려한 통신망의 신뢰도 분석 모델링)

  • In this paper, we develop queueing network models of communication networks with reliability model considering link failures. The reliability of a communication network with a virtual connection exposed to link failures is analyzed. Stochastic Reward Nets (SRN) is an extension of stochastic Petri nets and provides compact modeling facilities for system analysis. To get the performance index, appropriate reward rates are assigned to its SRN. It is shown that SRN modeling is well suited to specify, automatically generate and solve for reliability under rerouting. Markov models using SRN are developed and solved to depict various rerouting caused by link failures and reliability analysis in communication networks.

  • Odd network was introduced as one model of graph theory. In [1], it was introduced as a class of fault-tolerant multiprocessor networks and analyzed so many useful properties such as simple routing algorithms, maximal fault tolerance, node axsjoint path, etc. In this paper, we sauw a construction algorithm of edge-axsjoint spanning trees in Odd network $O_d$. Also, we prove that edge-disjoint spanning tree generated by our algorithm is optimal edge-disjoint spanning tree.

The database should be operational and at least one of the component should be also operational. Otherwise system will be down. Each component can be failed and repaired individually. Stochastic Reward Net (SRN) Model for reliability analysis is developed. SRN is potential to define various reward function and can be easily used to obtain performance measures. The modeling techniques using variable cardinality, enabling function, timed transition priority in SRN are shown.
