Evaluation of the Energy Dissipation Capacity of an Unstiffened Extended End-plate Connection (비보강 확장단부판 접합부의 에너지소산능력 평가)

  • An extended end-plate connection displays different behavioral properties and energy dissipation capacity based on the thickness and length of the end-plate comprising the connection in the form of a beam-to-column moment connection, the number and diameter of the high strength bolt, the gauge distance of the high strength bolt, and the size and length of the welds. Such extended end-plate is applied to beam-to-column connections in various geometric forms in the US and European regions. Currently in Korea, however, the extended end-plate beam-to-column connection is not actively applied due to the lack of proper design formulas, the evaluation of the energy dissipation capacity, and the provision of construction guidelines. Accordingly, this study was conducted to provide the basic data for the proposal of a prediction model of energy dissipation capacity by evaluating the energy dissipation capacity of unstiffened extended end-plate connections with relatively thin end plate thicknesses. To achieve this, a three-dimensional nonlinear finite element analysis has been conducted on unstiffened extended end-plate connections, with the thickness of the end plate as the set variable.

  • Journal bearings in the rotating machineries are vulnerable to the contamination or the insufficient supply of lubricating oil, which is likely to be the cause of unexpected shutdown or malfunction of these systems. Various destructive and nondestructive testing methods had been used for the reduction of maintenance cost and the operational safety problems due to the accidents related to bearing damages. In this experimental approach, acoustic emission monitoring is employed to the detection of incipient failure caused by intervention of foreign particles most probable in the journal bearing systems. Experimental schedules for the intervention of foreign particles was composed to be more quantitative and systematic than last study in consideration of minimum oil film thickness and particle size. The experiment was conducted under such designed conditions as inserting alumina particles to the lubrication layer in the simulated journal bearing system. Several parameters such as AE rms level, waveform, AE energy distribution and other AE event parameters are used for analysis and characterization of damage source. The results showed that the history of damage was well correlated with the changes of AE rms level and the type of damage source signal can be verified using other informations such as waveform, distributions of AE parameters etc.

  • 수문 및 수질자료는 일정한 기준에 의한 관측치를 시계열 자료로 기록하거나 전송할 때 다양한 형태의 오차가 발생하게 되며 또한 수문 및 수질자료를 관측하는 측정기기의 고장과 유지관리 등의 어려움으로 다양한 형태의 결측 자료가 발생하고 있다. 이와 더불어 수문 및 수질자료는 시공간적 변동성이 크며 비선형성이 강한 특성을 갖고 있다. 이러한 수문 및 수질 자료를 이용하여 모형을 구축할 경우 다양한 형태의 잡음에 대한 검증 및 잡음저감이 필수적 요건이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 영산강 유역의 본류부를 대표하는 나주지점에 대한 유출량과 총유기탄소(TOC) 농도 및 TOC 부하량 예측모형을 개발하였으며, 이를 위한 방법으로는 잡음저감을 위하여 웨이블렛 변환과 인공신경망을 적용하였다. TOC 부하량 자료는 유출량과 TOC 자료간의 함수로서 표현이 가능함에 따라 유출량 및 TOC 자료가 결측되었을 경우 역함수에 의한 계산으로 결측 자료에 대한 보간이 가능하다. 따라서 본 연구의 주안점은 잠음 저감 및 인공신경망에 의해 최적화된 예측 모형이 결측된 유출량과 TOC 자료에 대한 역함수로 정도있는 유출량과 TOC 자료 생성 가능성을 검토하고자 한다. 본 연구의 적용 결과, 유출량 자료가 결측되었을 경우 TOC 및 TOC 부하량 예측으로 유출량 자료에 대한 간접추정 및 결측 자료에 대한 보간의 정도를 평가한 결과 $R^2$는 0.99 이상의 값을 보였다. 또한, TOC 자료가 결측되었을 경우 역시 $R^2$는 비교적 우수한 0.97 이상의 값을 보였다. 따라서 본 연구에서 개발한 유출량 및 TOC, TOC 부하량 예측모형의 개발은 정도있는 유출량 및 TOC 수질 자료의 생성이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.한 물순환 해석을 할 수 있는 기반을 확보 하였으며, 가용한 장 단기간의 관측자료와 물수지 분석 연산식의 추정치를 바탕으로 관측자료에 의한 물수지 분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과로 산지 소하천 유역인 설마천 시험유역의 각 수문요소의 물이동간의 정량적인 값을 알 수가 있었으며, 앞으로 추가적이고 지속적인 수문모니터링이 운영되고 물순환 해석 모형에 의한 검증이 수행된다면 정량적인 물순환 관계를 규명할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 이와 관련된 수문요소기술을 확보할 수 있을 것이다.절한 타협과 조정을 필요로 한다. 그러나 절제의 한계를 넘어선다고 생각되거나, 조정의 노력이 불가능하거나, 실패했을 때 폭력적인 행동으로 나타나게 된다. 리차즈(I.A Richards)는 분노와 공포는 일단 겉잡을 수 없는 경향이 있다고 하면서 오늘날 폭력에 대한 요구가 일상의 정서 생활에 있어, 억압을 통한, 빈곤함을 반영하고 있지 않은지 생각해봐야 할 것이라고 충고한다. 조성 가이드라인(안)을 제시하였다.EX>$\ulcorner$세종실록$\lrcorner$(世宗實錄) $\ulcorner$지리지$\lrcorner$(地理志)와의 비교를 해보면 상 중 하품의 통합 9개소가 삭제되어 있고, $\ulcorner$동국여지승람$\lrcorner$(東國與地勝覽) 에서는 자기소와 도기소의 위치가 완전히 삭제되어 있다. 이러한 현상은 첫째, 15세기 중엽 경제적 태평과 함께 백자의 수요 생산이 증가하자 군신의 변별(辨別)과 사치를 이유로 강력하게 규제하여 백자의 확대와 발전에 걸림돌이 되었다. 둘째, 동기(銅器)의 대체품으로 자기를 만들어 충당해야할 강제성 당위성 상실로 인한 자기수요 감

  • An advanced vehicle safety system can be constructed by exchanging danger-related information ,such as urgency stop, traffic accident, obstacle, and car trouble, among the vehicles. However, because network topology changes rapidly and frequently due to the mobility of vehicles, it is impossible to configure the network for information forwarding in this environment. In the most of vehicle safety communication applications, an emergency message is propagated in a form of broadcasting. The simple broadcasting causes a lot of problems in terms of efficiency due to multi-hop area and radio collision problem. This paper proposes a method of selective message forwarding with stem and branch structure for propagating the emergency messages. However, the proposed method raise the efficiency of message transmission with the selective forwarding based on the priority assignment as its location. We analyze and evaluate the performance by comparing the proposed scheme with other schemes that are presented in the paper.

  • The number of elevator installation increases every year about 15,000. The number of confine-disease of elevator increases every year and then sudden in, sudden stop, error of level indication, stand; those can bring to uneasiness of elevator passenger and malfunction related life accident is increasing. Therefore we researched elevator repair diary of elevator repairing company, APT management office and 119 life rescue for elevator confine-disease during 2004. 1. 1.${\sim}$12. 31. we analyzed the content and the time type and cause of the malfunction and fault for APT elevator. Form the result of 119 life rescue, only power reset is 24[%] and only power failure is 8.2[%] by cause of confine-disease. This paper will be used data of the analysis for mutual relation between Power Quality and malfunction and fault of elevator.

  • Reinforced open cell micro structured foams were prepared by the polymerization of high internal phase emulsions incorporating inorganic thickeners. Organoclays were used as oil phase thickener, and sodium montmorillonite was used as aqueous phase thickener. Rheological properties of emulsions increased as oil phase thickener concentration and agitation speed increased, due to the reduced drop size reflecting both competition between continuous and dispersed phase viscosities and increase of shear force. Drop size variation with thickener concentration could be explained by a dimensional analysis between capillary number and viscosity ratio. Upon the foams polymerized by the emulsions, compression properties, such as crush strength and Young's modulus were measured and compared. Among the microcellular foams, the foam incorporated with an organoclay having reactive group showed outstanding properties. It is speculated that the exfoliated silicate layers inside polystyrene matrix, resulting in nanocomposite foam, are the main reason why this foam has enhanced properties.

Study on the Fire Risk in Locked-Rotor Condition of Single-Phase Induction Motor (단상 유도전동기의 구속운전조건에서 화재 위험성에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the fire risk of a single-phase induction motor under a locked-rotor condition is described. In general, motor failure occurs in the locked-rotor condition owing to poor rotation of the rotor. Large inrush current flows when a motor starts, which is approximately 2-15 times larger than the rated current. In a single-phase induction motor under the locked-rotor condition, a large current that corresponds to the inrush current flows continuously through the stator winding. Such an overcurrent rises the temperature inside the stator winding, and thus the insulating material may catch fire. In this study, the restrained operating condition of the single-phase induction motor was simulated. Further, the degree of the overcurrent and temperature rise in the stator winding was measured. The experimental results, confirmed that the overcurrent was seven times larger than the rated current and the fire commenced at a temperature of approximately 300 ℃ inside the stator winding.

  • This paper presents a stochastic model for the software failure phenomenon based on a nonhomogeneous Poisson process (NHPP). The failure process is analyzed to develop a suitable mean value function for the NHPP ; expressions are given for several performance measure. Actual software failure data are compared with generalized model by Goel dependent on the constant reflecting the quality of testing. The performance measures and parametric inferences of the new models, Rayleigh and Gumbel distributions, are discussed. The results of the new models are applied to real software failure data and compared with Goel-Okumoto and Yamada, Ohba and Osaki models. Tools of parameter inference was used method of the maximun likelihood estimate and the bisection algorithm for the computing nonlinear root. In this paper, using the sum of the squared errors, model selection was employed. The numerical example by NTDS data was illustrated.

  • Human pharynx is unique, acting as a complex interchange between the oral cavity and esophagus, and between the nasal cavity and lungs. It is actively involved in the transport of food and liquid, producing the forces that guide that bolus into the upper esophagus and away from the adjacent larynx and lungs. This study intended to develop a biomechanical model of the human pharynx, utilizing Finite Element Method(FEM). Within each model changes in cross sectional intralumenal area were calculated and compared with the area from the computer-generated FE model. Area matching allowed estimation of intraluminal pressure gradients during swallow. The estimated pharyngeal pressure gradient varies from one region to another. The estimated pharyngeal pressure gradients showed different patterns for upper four levels and lower four levels. The contraction velocity for upper four levels is much higher than lower four levels. The higher contraction velocities and pressure gradients in the upper levels are consistent with the bolus velocities required for efficient swallow.

  • Satellite-based argumentation systems (SBAS) is a system that enhances the accuracy, integrity, availability and continuity of GNSS navigation users by using geostationary orbit (GEO) satellites to send correction information and the failures of global navigation satellite system (GNSS) satellites in the form of messages. The correction information provided by SBAS is pseudorange error, satellite orbit error, clock error, and ionospheric delay error at 250 bps. Therefore, A lot of message processing are required for the SBAS navigation. There is a need to reduce SBAS time to first fix (TTFF) for using SBAS navigation in systems with short operating time. In this paper, A-SGNSS operation method was proposed for reducing SBAS TTFF. Also, A-SGNSS TTFF and availability were analyzed.
