  • In this paper, a fault location algorithm is suggested for line to line faults in distribution networks. Conventional fault location algorithms use the symmetrical component transformation, a very useful tool for transmission network analysis. However, its application is restricted to balanced network only. Distribution networks are, in general, operated in unbalanced manners, therefore, conventional methods cannot be applied directly, which is the reason why there are few research results on fault location in distribution networks. Especially, the line to line fault is considered as a more difficult subject. The proposed algorithm uses direct 3-phase circuit analysis, which means it can be applied not only to balanced networks but also to unbalanced networks like distribution a network. The comparisons of simulation results between one of conventional methods and the suggested method are presented to show its effectiveness and accuracy.

  • High temperature superconducting(HTS) power cable is expected to be used for power transmission lines supplying electric power for densely populated cities in the near future. Commercializing of HTS power cable is coming. Simulation is required for safety before install of HTS power cable, a fabrication model used at the power system simulation. In this paper, we shows a single line-to ground fault analysis in the grid system which has a loom length HTS power cable. The authors developed a single line-to ground fault current calculation method which is considering the shield layer of HTS power cable. In the calculation, the T type equivalent circuit is used to derive the mutual inductance of the HTS power cable

  • Dynamic rerouting이 가능한 다중경로를 갖는 다단 상호접속망을 제안하였다. 구성방식이 간단하며, 단의 수는 $LOG_{2}$(N)으로 감소하므로 Hardware의 복잡도가 감소하는 효과를 얻었다. 출력 번지를 경로선택 태그로 사용할 수 있는 알고리듬을 제안하여 경로 선택 방법을 간단하게 하였고, Dynamic Rerouting이 가능하므로 충돌이 발생하거나, 혹은 스위치 소자에서 고장이 발생한 경우 현 위치에서 역 추적 없이 다른 경로를 선택할 수 있게 되었다. 성능 면에서는 probability of acce-ptance가 개선되었으며, 이를 해석적 방법으로 입증하였다.

  • In Korea, the next generation high-speed train, whose target is maximum speed of 400km/h and operating speed of 370km/h, has been developed since 2007. In this paper, the safety of the next generation high-speed train is compared UIC 518OR under the malfunctioning situation of the suspension system. The bogie of the next generation high-speed train has two suspensions. Two different vehicle models of the next generation high-speed train are created by using VAMPIRE and ADAMS/Rail, which are specialized to design railway vehicle. And Those models are showed same dynamic properties. First of all, the sensitivity analysis of ModelCenter is performed using model of VAMPIRE. One suspension element which has significant effects on the safety are selected by result of the sensitivity analysis. And then, the dynamic analysis when the suspension element is broken is performed using ADAMS/Rail. The 30km track between Pungsegyo and Biryong tunnel in Gyeongbu High-speed Line was used at the dynamic analysis. The estimated value is found by using the normal method of UIC 518OR. The estimated values on the normal/fault state and the limit values of UIC 518OR are compared. Finally, the safety of the next generation high-speed train is verified.

고장파급 시나리오에 기초한 광역정전 해석기법 연구 (Analysis of Power System Wide-Area Blackout based on the Fault Cascading Scenarios)

  • This paper presents a novel framework for analysis of power system wide-area blackout based on so called fault cascading scenarios. For a given power system operating state, "triggering" faults or a "seed faults" are chosen based on the probabilities estimated from the hazard rates. The fault probabilities reflect both the load and the weather conditions. Effects of hidden failures in protection systems are also reflected in establishing the fault propagation scenarios since they are one of the major causes for the wide-area blackouts. A tree type data structure called a PS-BEST(Power System Blackout Event Scenario Tree) is proposed for construction of the fault cascading scenarios, in which nodes represent various power system operating states and the arcs are the events causing transitions between the states. Arcs can be either probabilistic or deterministic. For a given initial fault, the total probability of leading to wide-area blackout is estimated by aggregating the individual probability of each fault sequence route leading to wide-area blackout. A case study is performed on the IEEE RTS-79(24 bus) system based on the fault data presented by the North American Electrical Reliability Council(NERC). Test results demonstrate the potentials and the effectiveness of the proposed technique for the future wide-area blackout analysis.

  • This paper studies the dynamic irreversible demagnetization characteristics of an interior permanent magnet (PM) brushless DC motor with a stator turn fault. A new algorithm, which is a finite element method (FEM) combined with a line voltage equation of the motor, is developed to analyze irreversible demagnetization under dynamic and transient states and considers a stator turn fault. The input current, circulating current, magnetic distribution characteristics, and operating property of the PM, including the irreversible demagnetization in the fault state, are analyzed using this algorithm by considering the magnetic saturation effect. The feasibility of the proposed method confirmed from the analysis results is verified via an experiment. Through this fault analysis, we can accurately check the fault phenomena of a PM motor against the demagnetization fault for fault prevention.

  • $SF_6$ 가스절연 Recloser는 선로에 일시적인 과전류가 발생하면 개방 후 자동 재투입 하면서 선로의 정상적인 운전상태를 회복하고, 영구 고장 시에는 정해진 Sequence에 따라 개방, 투입을 반복한 후 개방완료 상태에 이르게 하는 보호기기이며, 조작부는 주로 Solenoid Actuator 방식을 채택해왔었다. 그러나 Solenoid Actuator 방식은 구조가 복잡하고 부품수가 많은 단점이 있어 최근에는 사용 부품수를 획기적으로 감소 시키고 조작 신뢰성을 증대시킨 Magnetic Actuator 방식을 채택하여 사용하는 경향을 보이고 있다. 이 Magnetic Actuator 방식은 구조가 간단하고 부품수가 적어 높은 신뢰성을 확보할 수 있고 유지 보수가 거의 필요하지 않는 장점을 가지고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 $SF_6$ 가스절연 Recloser의 조작부에 Magnetic Actuator 방식(이하 PMA (Permanent Magnetic Actuator))을 채용 하였으며, 이를 적용하기위한 입력전원 및 투입, 개방 코일을 패러미터로 하여 PMA의 동적특성을 실험하였으며, 이 실험 자료에 근거하여 27[kV] $SF_6$ 가스절연 Recloser의 PMA 조작부를 설계 및 제작하였다.
