On Learning and Structure of Cerebellum Model Linear Associator Network(I) -Analysis & Development of Learning Algorithm- (소뇌모델 선형조합 신경망의 구조 및 학습기능 연구(I) -분석 및 학습 알고리즘 개발-)

  • 인간 소뇌의 구조와 기능을 간략하게 수학적으로 모델링하여 입력에 따른 시스템의 적정 출력을 학습에 의한 적응 제어 방식으로 추출해 내는 소뇌모델 대수제어기(CMAC : Cerebellar Model Arithmetic Controller)가 제안되었다. 본 논문에서는 연구개발된 기존 신경회로망과의 비교 분석에 의거하여, 소뇌모델 대수제어기 대신 네트의 특성에 따라 소뇌모델 선형조합 신경망(CMLAN : Cerebellum Model Linear Associator Network)이라 하였다. 소뇌모델 선형조합 신경망은 시스템의 제어 함수치를 결정하는 데 있어, 기존의 제어방식이 시스템의 모델링을 기초로 하여 알고리즘에 의한 수치해석적 또는 분석적 기법으로 모델 해를 산출하는 것과 달리, 학습을 통하여 저장되는 분산기억 소자들의 함수치를 선형적으로 조합함으로써 시스템의 입출력을 결정한다. 분산기억 소자로의 함수치 산정 및 저장은 소뇌모델 선형조합 신경망이 갖는 고유의 구조적 상태공간 매핑(State Space Mapping)과 델타규칙(Delta Rule)에 의거한 시스템의 입출력 상태함수의 학습으로써 수행된다. 본 논문을 통하여 소뇌모델 선형조합신경망의 구조적 특성, 학습 성질과 상태공간 설정 및 시스템의 수렴성을 규명하였다. 또한 기존의 최대 편차수정 학습 알고리즘이 갖는 비능률성 및 적용 제한성을 극복한 효율적 학습 알고리즘들을 제시하였다. 언급한 신경망의 특성 및 제안된 학습 알고리즘들의 능률성을 다양한 학습이득(Learning Gain)하에서 비선형 함수를 컴퓨터로 모의 시험하여 예시하였다.

Partial CSI-Based Cooperative Power Allocation in Multi-Cell Dual-Hop MISO Relay Systems (다중-셀 이중-홉 MISO 릴레이 시스템에서 부분 채널 정보를 이용한 협력 전력 할당 기법)

  • This paper proposes a cooperative power allocation with the use of partial channel information (e.g., the average signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and transmit correlation) in multi-cell dual-hop multi-input single-output (MISO) relay systems. In a dual-hop MISO relay channel, it is desirable to allocate the transmit power between dual-hop links to maximize the end-to-end capacity. We consider the maximization of the end-to-end capacity of a dual-hop MISO relay channel under sum-power constraint. The proposed scheme adaptively allocates the transmit power considering the average channel gain of the target relay and the transmit correlation of the desired and inter-relay interference channel from adjacent relays. It is shown by means of upper-bound analysis that the end-to-end capacity can be maximized by making the angle difference of the principal eigenvectors of the desired and inter-relay interference channel orthogonal in highly-correlated channel environments. Finally, the performance of the proposed scheme is verified by computer simulation.

  • This paper, which consists of two parts, dealt with the parameter tuning of the power system stabilizer for a 612[MVA] thermal power plant in KEPCO system and its validation in field test. In Part 1 of the paper, the selection of parameters such as lead-lag time constants for phase compensation, system gain was optimized by using linear & eigenvalue analyses and they were verified through the time-domain transient stability analysis. In part 2, the performance of PSS was finally verified by the generator's on-line field test. Through the comparisons of simulation results and measured data before and after tuning of the PSS, the models of generator and its controllers including AVR, Governor and PSS used in the simulation are validated and confirmed.

Modal Properties of a Tall Reinforced Concrete Building Based on the Field Measurement and Analytical Models (실측 및 해석모델에 의한 철근콘크리트조 주상복합건물의 모드특성)

  • Natural frequency is a key parameter to determine the seismic and wind loading of tall flexible structures, and to assess the wind-induced vibration for serviceability check. In this study, natural frequencies and associated mode shapes were obtained from measured acceleration data and system identification technique. Subsequently, finite element(FE) models for a tall reinforced concrete buildings were built using a popular PC-based finite element analysis program and calibrated to match their natural frequencies and mode shapes to actual values. The calibration of the FE model included: 1) compensation of modulus of elasticity considering the mix design strength, 2) flexural stiffness of floor slabs, and 3) major non-structural components such as plain concrete walls. Natural frequencies and mode shapes from the final FE model showed best agreement with the measured values.

  • Recently, buildings tend to be large size, complex shape and functional. As the size of buildings is becoming massive, the need for structural health monitoring(SHM) technique is ever-increasing. Various SHM techniques have been studied for buildings which have different dynamic characteristics and are influenced by various external loads. Generally, the visual inspection and non-destructive test for an accessible point of structures are performed by experts. But nowadays, the system is required which is online measurement and detect risk elements automatically without blind spots on structures. In this study, in order to consider the response of non-linear structures, proposed a signal feature extraction and the adaptive threshold setting algorithm utilized to determine the abnormal behavior by using statistical methods such as control chart, root mean square deviation, generalized extremely distribution. And the performance of that was validated by using the acceleration response of structures during earthquakes measuring system of forced vibration tests and actual operation.

The Impovement of Convergence Speed in Real Time Vital Sign Information Management System in Patient Monitoring Systems (적응 횡단선 필터의 등화기에서 수렴속도 개선)

  • In this paper, an efficient signal interference control technique to improve the convergence speed of LMS algorithm is introduced. The convergence characteristics of the proposed algorithm,whose coefficients are multiply adapted in a symbol time period by recycling the received data,are analyzed to prove theoretically the improvement of convergence speed. According as thestep-size parameter ${\mu}$ is increased, the rate of convergence of the algorithm is controlled. Increasing the eigenvalue spread has the effect of controlling down the rate of convergence of the adaptive equalizer and also increasing the steady-state value of the average squared error and also demonstrate the superiority of signal interference control to the filter algorithm increasing convergence speed by (B+1) times due to the data-recycling LMS technique.

  • In this paper, an efficient signal interference control technique to improve the convergence speed of LMS algorithm is introduced. Also, a increase in the step-size parameter $\mu$ has the effect of reducing the variation in the experimentally computed learning curve. Increasing the eigenvalue spread has the effect of controlling down the rate of convergence of the adaptive equalizer and also increasing the steady-state value of the mean squared error and also demonstrate the superiority of signal interference control to the filter algorithm increasing convergence speed by (B+1) times due to the data-recycling LMS technique.

  • Based on the results in the first-part paper, PSS tuning methods including the determination of PSS gain and compensation of phasor lagging are investigated in this second part. In the phase compensation, PSS should compensate phase lagging, resulted from power system-generator-excitation system loop, to provide damping torque in equal phase with the generator speed. Also, PSS gain should be determined to provide maximum damping torque as much as possible without the other modes unstable. In this paper, gain tuning method using the root-locus and the phase compensation of PSS at the one machine with infinite bus system are presented. The differences between PSS tuning at the tuning condition and at the least-stable condition are also discussed.

  • Component Mode Synthesis (CMS) is a dynamic substructuring technique to get an approximate eigensolutions of large degree-of-freedom structures divisible into several components. But, In practice. most of large structures are modeled by different teams of engineers. and their respective finite element models often require different mesh resolutions. As a result, the finite element substructure models can be non-conforming and/or incompatible. In this work, A hybrid version of component mode synthesis using a localized lagrange multiplier to treat the non-conforming mesh problem was derived. Evolution Strategies (ESs) is a stochastic numerical optimization technique and has shown a robust performance for solving deterministic problems. An ESs conducts its search by processing a population of solutions for an optimization problem based on principles from natural evolution. An optimization example for raising the first natural frequency of a plate structure using beam stiffeners was presented using hybrid component mode synthesis and robust evolution strategies (RES) optimization technique. In the example. the design variables are the positions and lengths of beam stiffeners.

Observer Kalman Filter Identification of a Three-story Structure installed with Active Mass Driver (OKID를 이용한 실험 건물모델의 시스템 식별 실험)

  • This paper deals with system identification of a three-story building model with active mass damper (MID) for the controller design. Observer Kalman filter identification (OKID) technique is applied to find the relationship between the experimental results of the input and output. The inputs to the building model with MID are ground accelerations and motor command signal, which are, respectively, simulated earthquake and equivalent control force. The outputs are each floor acceleration and MID acceleration. The MID controller is designed based on the experimentally identified building system. Finally it is shown that experimental results agree accurately with simulated results.
