A Study on IoT/ICT Convergence Smart Safety Management System for Safety of High Risk Workers (고위험 직업군의 안전을 위한 IoT/ICT융합 스마트 안전관리 시스템에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study aims at developing and implementing Smart Safety Management System based on IoT/ICT Convergence for safety of high-risk groups working at disaster or industrial field. Its functions are as follows. Method: We will develop three devices for keeping the safety of high-risk jobs: Sensor of inactivity, Lora based Refitting technology for communication between high-risk workers, and Lora Gateway for monitoring entire situations. Then we will test three devices in respect of their functions, and propose their applicabilities in the field. Results: The system can send and receive safety tags and danger signals by which sensor technology can detect dangerous state of workers. And its command terminal was developed by low-power wireless communication technology and LoRa Gateway, which can fulfill the lifting functions between safety tags. And, furthermore, the command terminal can monitor dangerous situations of disaster sites in real time and can perform the preemptive rescues. Conclusion: This study proves the functional efficacy of Smart Safety Management System for worker safety in various high-risk occupational groups, and also suggests ways to secure worker safety in disaster area and various high risk industrial sites.

A Study on the Prevalence and Risk of Hyperuricemia according to Sitting time and High-Risk Drinking by Occupational group (직업군별 좌식시간과 고위험음주에 따른 고요산혈증의 유병률과 위험도에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to analyze with a focus on gender whether the prevalence of hyperuricemia varies depending on sitting time and high-risk drinking by occupational group. For this study, the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data were used, and 16,366 people were selected. The chi-square independence test and logistic regression model were used as the analysis method. The prevalence and risk of hyperuricemia by sitting time were different in the 'agricultural, forestry and fishery skilled workers' only in men. On the other hand, the prevalence with high-risk drinking, both men and women showed differences in 'managers, experts and related workers' and 'office worker'. Also, only women have differences in 'service and sales workers', 'technicians, equipment, machine operation and assembly workers' and 'unemployed'. These results inform men have a higher prevalence and risk of hyperuricemia and suggest that health care policies and medical services are needed to prevent it by occupational group.

Relationship Between Job Stress and Fatigue Symptoms Among Nurses in a University Hospital (대학병원 간호사들의 직무스트레스와 피로수준과의 관련성)

  • The present study was intended to measure the level of fatigue symptoms among nurses working for a university hospital and to reveal its related factors. The self-administered questionnaires were given to 450 nurses during the period from October 1st to 31st, 2010. As a results, the level of fatigue symptoms were 75.1% in normal group, and the high-risk group 24.9%. The level of fatigue symptoms reflected in job stress contents were higher as job demand was higher, and the autonomy of job and the supervisor support was lower. In correlations, fatigue symptoms were found to be in a positive correlation with job demand, whereas in negative correlation with autonomy of job and supervisor support. The adjusted odds ratio of fatigue symptoms on job demand were significantly increased in the high risk group than in low group, but autonomy of job. were significantly decreased in the high risk group than in low group. In conclusion, the study results indicated that the level of fatigue symptoms is independently influenced by job stress contents.

  • This study examined the fatigue and its association with job stress among male workers engaged in small-scale manufacturing industries. The study subjects were 553 male workers under 50 members of manufacturing industries. The study survey was a structured questionnaire of the Korean Occupational Stress Scale (KOSS) and Multidimensional Fatigue Scale (MFS) during April, 2015. The data were analyzed using the SPSS ver 21.0 program. The results showed that the high risk fatigue group was significantly higher in the high risk group of job stress than in the normal group of job stress. Fatigue was positively correlated with job stress. The odds ratio of the high risk fatigue group were increased significantly in the high risk group of job stress than in the normal group of job stress. The factors of influence with explanatory powers of 27.7% on fatigue included age, marital status, educational level, subject health status, sleeping time, drinking coffee, job tenure, shift work, visiting out-patient department, sense of satisfaction in job life, and job stress. Fatigue was associated with the sociodemographic characteristics, health behavior related characteristics, job-related characteristics, and job stress.

Seroprevalence and Risk Factors for Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome among the Korea National Park Service Workers (국립공원 종사자의 중증열성혈소판감소증후군 혈청유병률 및 위험요인)

  • Objectives: This study was carried out to understand the seroprevalence and risk factors for severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) among the Korea National Park Service (KNPS) workers. Methods: We used the stored serum samples (763) and survey results collected from the previous investigation on scrub typhus and Lyme disease among the KNPS workers during 2016-2017. The serum samples were analyzed by double-antigen sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, which was used to test the total antibody including IgG and IgM. Results: The SFTS seroprevalence among the KNPS worrkers was 1.4%. In multivariate logistic analysis, the national park exploration programs (odds ratio, 3.48; 95% confidence interval, 1.01-12.01) was significantly associated with the seroprevalence of SFTS. Conclusion: This study was the first serological study of SFTS among forestry workers in South Korea. Although the KNPS workers are at a high-risk group of SFTS, the prevention activities related to the working environment and habit was insufficient. Thus, systematic prevention education and training for the KNPS workers need to be strengthened.

Relationship Between Job Satisfaction and Turnover Intention Among Nurses in General Hospitals (일부 종합병원 간호사들의 직무만족도와 이직의도와의 관련성)

  • This study was carried out to verify the relationship between the job satisfaction and turnover intention of nurses working in general hospitals The study included 312 nurses working in three general hospitals located in Gyeoungpook area. The data was collected by a survey using self-administered questionnaires structured from February 25 to March 16, 2013. The level of turnover intention was negatively correlated with job satisfaction and professional position, autonomy, administrative capacity, pay, task requirement. In logistic regression analysis, the adjusted odds ratio of the high risk turnover intention was increased significantly in the lower groups of job satisfaction, job autonomy, administrative capacity and pay than in the higher groups of these items. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis showed that the turnover intention correlated significantly with the education level, subjective sleep evaluation, job career, job position, monthly pay, satisfaction with work, fitness of the job, career choice motives, physical burden of work, and job satisfaction. In addition, there was a negative correlation between the job satisfaction and turnover intention in the studied nurses, which showed that the turnover intention increased with decreasing level of job satisfaction. The variations in the job related characteristics and job satisfaction have a significant influence on the turnover intention.

Psychosocial Stress Levels and Related Factors in some Rural Residents (일부 농촌지역 주민에서 사회심리적 스트레스 수준과 관련요인)

  • Objectives: This study was performed to investigate the levels of psychosocial stres and to identify its Methods: The study subjects were 1,806 adults aged 40-70 years living in Naju City, Jeollanamdo. Sociodemographic characteristics, health-related behavior, social suport and personality were collected for statistical analysis. The measurement instrument of psychosocial stress was psychosocial well-being index. The regression analysis. Results: The results showed that 16.6% of subjects were categorized as high stress, 63.4% as moderate, and 20.0% as normal. Overall, the mean value of PWI was 17.29.8 and significantly diferent by socioeconomic characteristics, health-related behavior, social suport and personality. In the case of men, the income, decreased positive social suport, increased negative social suport, type A behavior pattern, decrease of internal locus of control or poorer self-esteem. In the case of women, the PWI was significantly deteriorated in the subjects with no job, no spouse, decreased positive social suport, increased negative social support, type A behavior pattern, decrease of internal locus of control or poorer self-esteem.Conclusions: The psychosocial stres for rural residents was related with social suport and personality. Thus, these results should be considered to reduce stres levels in rural adults.

Relationship Between Job Stress and Burnout of Fire Service Officers (일부 소방공무원의 직무스트레스와 소진(Burnout)과의 관련성)

  • This study established the relationship between job stress and burn-out syndrome of firefighters. The research targets were 582 firefighters who worked at five fire stations in the D metropolitan city. The survey was conducted using a self-administered questionnaire during the period from July 1st 2019 to September 30, 2019. On the correlation analysis, burn-out showed a significant positive correlation with job stress. On the results of the logistic regression anaylsis, the risk ratio of high levels of burn-out was significantly higher in the very high stress groups than that in the groups with low job stress. According to the multiple regression analysis, the factors having an influence on burn-out were gender, age, the specific level of job career, shift work, the physical burden of work, the sense of satisfaction with the work, consideration for quitting the job and job stress. These findings suggest that the job stress of firefighters is closely related to burn-out. This demands the development and implementation of programs that can properly control and curb the factors of job-stress.

Relationships Between Job Stress and Psychosocial Stress Among Nurses in a University Hospital (대학병원 간호사의 직무스트레스와 사회심리적 스트레스의 관련성)

  • This study was intended to measure the level of psychosocial stress among nurses working for a university hospital and to reveal its related factors. The self-administered questionnaires were given to 450 nurses during the period from October 1st to 31st, 2010. As a results, the level of psychosocial stress was 10.2% in normal group, 64.0% in potential stresses group, and 25.8% in high risk stress group. In correlation, psychosocial stress was positively correlated with job demand, but it was negatively correlated with job autonomy, supervisor and colleague support. For the results of hierarchial multiple regression analysis, the level of psychosocial stress was influenced by the variables of regular exercise, quality of sleep, subjective status of health, shift work, fit to the job, job demand, job autonomy and supervisor support. Especially, the psychosocial stress was higher related with the contents of job stress increased with explanatory powers of 18.1% on the psychosocial stress.

Related Factors to Physical Inactivity of Residents in One Metropolitan City (일개 광역시민의 신체비활동 관련 요인 분석연구)

  • 본 연구는 일개 광역시 주민들 4000명을 대상으로 일반적 특성, 건강행태 관련 특성, 신체비활동 정도를 조사하여 신체비활동의 유발요인에 대해 알아보고자 시행되었다. 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 걷기운동 미실천 수준의 경우 연령, 교육수준, 의료보장, 직업, 기초생활수급유무, 독감 예방접종, 체중조절시도, 고위험음주, 스트레스 인지정도, 지역사회 운동프로그램참여, 운동시설의 접근성이, 중등도 이상의 운동 미실천의 경우, 성별, 연령, 월 소득, 가구소유, 건강검진 여부, 체중 조절 시도, 현재 흡연 여부, 지역 사회 운동 프로그램참여가 통계적으로 유의했으며, 이 변수들을 이용하여 신체비활동 수준을 결과변수로 하는 로지스틱 회귀분석을 시행하여, 걷기운동의 경우 20대에 비해서 30대가 1.46배, 40대가 1.57배 미실천률이 높고, 사무직이 전문행정관리직에 비해 1.37배, 체중조절을 시도하지 않은 군이 한 군에 비해 1.70배, 스트레스를 많이 느낀 군이 안 느낀 군에 비해 1.58배, 조금 느낀 군에 비해 1.38배, 운동시설 접근성이 어려운 군이 쉬운 군에 비해 1.75배정도 높은 것으로 분석되었고, 중등도 이상 운동의 경우 여자의 경우 남자에 비해 미실천율이 1.74배, 체중조절시도를 안한 군이 한 군에 비해 1.63배, 지역사회운동프로그램참여 안한 군이 한 군에 비해 2.36배 높은 것으로 나타났다. 고령화 사회로 가고 있는 현 상황에서 여러 가지 만성질환이 대두되고 있고, 이에 따른 신체활동의 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 하지만 우리나라의 경우 신체활동 실천율이 낮은 것이 현실이다. 신체활동의 실천율을 향상시키기 위해서는 신체비활동 결정짓는 요인들에 대해 우선 파악해야 한다. 분석결과 가장 차이가 나는 것은 운동시설의 접근성과 지역사회운동프로그램의 불참군에서 가장 신체비활동이 큰 것으로 파악되었다.
