초정응고 형식 제어에 의한 오스테나이트계 스테인리스 신강종의 개발 (Development of the New Austenitic Stainless Steels by Controlling Primary Solidification Mode)

  • 오스테나이트계 스테인레스강 SUS316, SUS321 보다 용접성, 내식성 및 극저온인성이 양호하며 기존의 재료보다 고가 첨가 원소인 크롬과 니켈의 함유량을 절감한 새로운 강종의 개발을 목표로 연구를 수행한 결과, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1) Trans-Varestraint 시험에 의하여 용해 제조강과 수입개의 고온 균열 감수성을 비교 평가한 결과, SUS321 수입재와 SuS321에 대응하여 개발한 강종 사이의 응고 균열 감수성이 거의 동등 내지는 용해 제조강의 고온 균열 저항력이 우수하였다. 따라서 Creq/Nieq의 값 1.43~1.48의 범위에서 합금 설계한 강종 M-1~M-9의 고온 균열 저항력은 기존의 문헌에 의한 테이타와 비교한 결과, 우수함을 알 수 있었다. 2) 샤르피(Charpy V notch) 표준 시험편에 의한 극저온 및 상온에서의 인성을 조사한 결과, 용해 제조강 M-1~M-9의 인성은 양호하였으며 특히 SUS321 수입재와 SUS321 대체재로서 개발한 M-7~M-9의 인성은 수입재의 그것보다 훨씬 높은 값을 나타내었다. 3) JIS G 0574에 의한 입계 부식 감수성을 조사한 결과, 입계 부식 감수성을 낮추기 위해서는 티타늄의 첨가가 매우 유효함을 알 수 있었다. 특히 SUS321 수입재와 SUS321 대응 강종(M-7~M-9)의 내식성은 수입재보다 개발 강종의 내식성이 훨씬 우수하였다. 4) 이상의 고온 균열 감수성과 극저온 및 상온에서의 인성, 내식성을 종합적으로 검토한 결과, 스테인리스강의 고가 첨가 원소인 크롬과 니켈의 첨가량을 절감할 수 있었다. 상기와 같은 관점에서 본 연구 수행에 의하여 새로운 합금 설계 개념에 의거, 새로운 강종의 개발과 생산 원가의 절감 그리고 제품의 품질 향상에 기여할 수 있는 기준을 확립할 수 있었다.

  • The fatigue crack propagation behavior of the SA516-Grade 70 steel which is used for pressure vessels was experimentally examined under the condition of at room temperature, $150^{\circ}C$, $250^{\circ}C$ and $370^{\circ}C$ with stress ration of R=0.1 and 0.3. The fatigue crack propagation rate , da/dN, related with the stress intensity factor range, $\vartriangle$N, was influenced by the stress ration within the stable growth of fatigue crack(Region II) with an increase in $\vartriangle$N. The resistance to the fatigue crack growth at high temperature is higher in comparison with that at room temperature, and the resistance attributed to the extent of plasticity-induced by compressive residual stress according to the cyclic loads. Fractographic examinations revels that the differences of the fatigue crack growth characteristics between room and high temperatures are mainly explained by the crack and oxide-induced by high temperature.

저탄소성 용접금속의 응고균열에 미치는 탄소함량의 영향 (The effect of carbon content on hot cracking of low carbon steel weld)

  • The effect of carbon content on hot cracking of welded carbon steel was investigated Eight steel plates whose carbon content range from 0.02 to 0.23 percent were welded by autogeous gas tungsten are process. Constant strain was applied to the hot crack test specimen under the strain rate of 0.15 mm per second during welding. The hot cracking susceptibility ws high in the rnage of 0.02-0.05 and 0.12-0.23 percent carbon contents. The critical carbon content immune to hot cracking is in the range from 0.07 to 0.12 percent carbon. By electron probe microanalyser, amanganese segregation was not seen significantly in the whole carbon range. But segregation of silicon was higher in the region of low carbon contents. However, sulphur was segregated remarkably in the region betwen 0.18 and 0.23 percent carbon by peritectic reaction. Very smal lamount of dnedritic structure was observed in the region from 0.02 to 0.05 percent carbon by peritectic reaction. Very small amount of dendritic structure was observed in the region from 0.02 to 0.05 percent carbon but the predominant solidification structure was smooth by cellular growth. The higher the carbon content is, the more the columnar dendritic structure was observed.

고온하 304 스테인리스철의 표면규열의 성장거동에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Growth Behavior of Multi-Surface-Cracks in Type 304 Stainless Steel at Elevated Temperature)

  • The crack which is discovered in various structures and machine elements is multi-cracks. Multi-cracks may cause serious problems because they grow individually, and coalesce into one and it leads to fracture. Fatigue tests have been carried out to study the growth and coalescence behavior of multi-surface-cracks initiated at the semicircular surface notch in type 304 stainless steel at elevated temperature. The results are as follows; When multi-surface-cracks are lying on the surface of material, the major surface crack has greater influence on the fatigue life than the subcracks. The aspect ratio of multi-surface-cracks is lower than that of single crack because of the interaction and coalescence of surface cracks. Crack growth shape turns to semiellipse from the semicircle notch. After coalescence, the surface crack length increases rapidly, and it leads to fracture. Further, the slope transition of Paris law was found in the da/dN-$\Delta$K$_1$ plots.

CRM아스팔트의 바인더특성 분석 (Mechanical characteristics of CRM asphalt)

  • 폐타이어를 분쇄한 고무분말로써 습식방법에 의해 제조된 CRM아스팔트 혼합물은 일반 아스팔트 혼합물에 비해 온도균열. 피로균열 및 소성변형에 대한 저항성이 증진되는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내에서 생성된 폐타이어 고무분말과 아스팔트(AP-3, AP-5)를 사용하여 제조된 CRM 아스팔트 바인더의 물리적 특성 및 CRM아스팔트 혼합물의 역학적 특성을 비교하였다. 시험결과, CRM 아스팔트 바인더는 일반 아스팔트보다 물리적 특성이 증진되었다. DSR을 사용한 아스팔트 바인더의 고온 특성시험결과, CRM아스팔트는 고온에서 내유동성이 증가되는 것으로 기대되며 노화가 감소되는 것으로 나타났고, 저온 역학적 특성시험결과에서는 CRM아스팔트는 저온균열에 대한 저항성이 증가될 것으로 기대된다.

터빈용 Cr-Mo-V강의 고온 환경변화에 따른 피로거동-고사이클 피로균열의 전파특성- (Fatigue behavior of Cr-Mo-V steel at high temperature for turbines -Propagation characteristics of high cycle fatigue crack-)

  • The rotating bending fatigue tests were performed using the specimens taken from Cr-Mo-V steel, widely sued in thermal power plant turbines, at various temperatures such as room temperature, 300 .deg. C, 425 .deg. C and 550 .deg. C. The characteristics of fatigue crack propagation were examined and analyzed by using fracture mechanics parameter. The plastic replica method was also applied in order to measure the crack length on the basis of serial observation of fatigue crack propagation behavior on the defected specimen surface. The fatigue crack propagation behavior of Cr-Mo-V steel was investigated within the frame work of elastic-plastic fracture mechanics. The propagation law of fatigue crack is obtained uniquely by using the term .sigma. $^{n}$ sub a/where .sigma. $_{a}$ is the service stress, a is the crack length and n is a constant. The values of constant n are nearly equal to 2.48, 2.60 and 8.61 at room temperature, 300 .deg. C and 425 .deg. C.

  • Currently, the use of carbon steel in a high temperature environment, such atomic reactor, increases. Test piece was heated in electric furnace and the prescribed temperature was controlled within ${\pm}1^{\circ}C$. Debris that falls apart from cracked section due to friction is accumulated inside. Then, as it causes fretting corrosion (formation of oxide layer), it contributes to crack closure.

  • The high temperature fatigue tests were performed using the specimens taken from Cr-Mo-V steel, widely used as thermal power plant turbine materials for examination fatigue behavior of materials in power plants which have been operated for long periods. The fatigue tests at high temperature were performed at the various temperature and applied stress. The results obtained are summarized as follows : The fatigue crack length increases and the fatigue life decreases with temperature and applied stress according to the same number of stress cycle. The fatigue crack propagation and the fatigue life were much influenced by temperature and applied stress.
