An Experimental Studies on Impingement Spray Characteristic in High Temperature and Pressure Chamber (고온고압용기에서 충돌분무 특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The characteristics of spray has much effect on performance and emissions for automobile, diesel engine, gas turbine and combustion engines. So spray behavior after impinging the wall is very important for prediction the engine performance. This studies examined about impingement spray considering ambient density(18,24,30kg/ms), temperature(293,473K), impingement angle(0,30,45°). The images of impingement spray were obtained by the high speed video camera. After that we analyzed impingement spray characteristics to use this images. In this experiment, we found that 1) The spray width is reduced by increasing the ambient gas density and temperature,2) The growth of downstream is increased by increasing the impingement angle.

The Prediction of Fatigue Damage for Pressure Vessel Materials using SH Ultrasonic Wave (압력용기 고온 고압부의 피로손상 예측을 위한 SH 초음파 평가 기법 개발)

  • Ultrasonic method using SH(shear horizontal) wave has been developed to determine the surface damage in fatigued material. Fatigue damages based on propagation energy were analyzed by multiregression analysis and phase measurement in interrupted fatigue test specimen including CrMoV and 12Cr alloy steel. From the test results, as the fatigue damage increased the propagation time of the launched waves increased and amplitude of wavelet decreased. Also, analysis for the waveform modulation showed a reliable estimation, with confidence limit of 97% for 12Cr steel and 95% for CrMoV steel, respectively. Therefore, It is thought that SH ultrasonic wave technique can be applied to determine fatigue damage of in-service component nondestructively.

  • The characteristics of fuel spray influence on the engine performances such as power, fuel economy and emissions. therefore, the measurement of fuel spray characteristics is very important for the improvement of heat engine. The factor which controls the fuel spray is injection pressure, ambient pressure, engine speed et al.. In :his study, We measured spray angle, spray penetration and spray tip velocity considering injection pressure(10,14㎫), ambient pressure(3,4,5㎫), fuel pump speed(500,700,900rpm) in the high temperature and pressure chamber. Experimental results are summarized as follows: 1) Injection pressure influence on the characteristics of spray namely As Injection pressure Is increased, spray angle is decreased but spray penetration and spray tip velocity is increased. 2) Spray angle, spray penetration is increased by increasing the fuel pump speed. 3) Ambient pressure plays an important role in spray characteristics.

  • 한국의 차세대 원자로 (Korean Next Generation Reactor; KNGR)에 처음 적용되는 격납건물내에 설치된 재장전수조 (In-Containment Refueling Water Storage Tank; IRWST)는 기존 재장전수조의 기능외에 주입모드에서 재순환 모드를 전환생략, 일차계통으로 방출된 고온, 고압 냉각수의 응축 및 냉각 격납용기 방사능 오염방지, 원자로 동공층수 등 여러 가지 추가 기능을 가진 한층 진보된 설계개념이다. 발전소 천이사고 시 발생하는 Pipe Clearing, 응축진동 현상(Condensation Oscillations), Chugging 등의 열수력 현상들이 방출증기의 유동 및 가속도와 관련해 항력과 응력, 압력진동 등을 일으켜 IRWST 구조물에 영향을 미칠 수 있기 때문에 IRWST를 처음으로 시도하는 우리 나라로서는 이와 관련된 제반현상에 대한 심도 깊은 연구가 요구된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 원자력 발전소 과도로 인한 가압기 안전밸브(Pressurizer Safety Valve) 또는 안전감압밸브(Safety Depressurization Valve) 작동시 IRWST로 방출되는 유체로 야기되는 하중 예측 모델을 기존의 BWR의 응축수조(suppression Pool)에서 일어나는 각종 현상을 토대로 이론적으로 체계적으로 유도하여 이를 비교, 분석하였다.

COINS- I : 가상발전소 개념에 따른 원자력 극한작업을 위한 지능형 상호협조 훈련시스템의 모델링

  • 본 논문에서는 고온, 고압, 그리고 방사능 준위가 높은 원자력발전소 구조물의 극한환경(Hazardous Environments)에서의 점검 및 보수에 대한 작업자의 훈련을 위해 지능형 상호협조 훈련시스템 (COINS-I: COoperative INtelligent training System-I)의 개념모델을 제안하였다. 비교적 방사능준위가 높은 격납용시 구조물과 보조(Auxiliary) 빌딩을 일차적 극한작업환경으로 설정하였다. 격납용기 구조물과 보조빌딩에 대한 가상발전소 환경(Virtual Plant Environments)을 모델링하여, 극한환경에서의 점검 및 보수훈련 Pilot 연구를 COINS-I의 개발목적으로 하였다. COINS-I은 점검, 보수훈련을 위한 가상발전소 환경을 갖는 극한작업 시뮬레이터, 지능형 Tutoring 기능을 갖는 극한작업 훈련프로그램, 3차원 가상인터페이스 등의 훈련장비를 갖는 훈련설비로 구성된다. COINS-I을 통한 교육 및 훈련 궁극적으로 작업자가 경험치 못한 극한작업(예를들면, 원자로해체, 중대사고, Life-extension 등)의 가상 시뮬레이션을 통한 훈련이 가능하여 방사능 피폭량을 저감하며, 극한작업 자동화를 위한 연구에의 활용이라 하겠다.

  • The characteristics of fuel spray have an important effect on engine performance such as power, specific fuel consumption and emission because fuel spray controls the mixing and combustion process in an engine. Therefore, if the characteristics of fuel spray can be measured, they can be effectively used for improving engine performance. The major factors controlling fuel spray are injection pressure, ambient pressure and engine speed. In this study, the experiment is performed in a high temperature and high pressure chamber. In experiments, spray tip penetration, spray angle and spray tip velocity are measured at various injection pressure (10 and 14 MPa), ambient pressure(3,4 and 5 MPa), fuel pump speed(500, 700 and 900 rpm). Experimental results are useful for deriving an experimental spray equation and design an optimal engine. The results showed that injection pressure, ambient pressure and fuel pump speed are important factors influencing on the characteristics of spray. 1) Injection pressure influences on the characteristics of spray. That is, as injection pressure is increased, spray angle is decreased but spray penetration and spray tip velocity is increased. 2) Spray angle and spray penetration are increased as fuel pump speed is increased.

Study on the Synthesis of Phosphor, $SrAl_2O_4:Eu$ by Wet Processing and its Characteristics of Photoluminescence (습식공정에 의한 형광물질 $SrAl_2O_4:Eu$ 분말 합성 및 형광 특성)

  • 본 연구에서는 수열합성법으로 $SrAl_2O_4:Eu$ 형광체 분말을 합성하여 이들의 발광 특성과 장잔광 특성 등에 대해서 고찰하였다. 증류수에 $Sr(NO_3)_2,\;Al(NO_3)_3{\cdot}9H_2O,\;Eu(NO_3)_3{\cdot}6H_2O$ 등의 금속염을 용해시킨 용액을 $NH_4OH$ 수용액으로 pH를 적당히 조절하고 고온 고압의 Autoclave 반응용기 내에서 반응시켰다. 이렇게 합성된 분말은 균일한 입도 분포를 나타내었으면, sub-micron 크기의 초미세 분말이었다. 합성된 $SrAl_2O_4:Eu$ 초미세 분말을 $Ar-H_2$ 가스 환원분위기에서 $1100-1400^{\circ}C$ 온도로 2시간동안 열처리시켜서 형광 특성을 나타내도록 만들었다. 분말의 여기 및 발광 특성을 측정한 길과, 발광파장을 520 nm로 고정시켜 측정한 여기스펙트럼은 $250\~450nm$의 넓은 파장영역에 걸쳐 여기가 일어났고, 발광스펙트럼은 520 nm에서 최대 피크를 나타내었다. 또한 10분간 여기 시킨 후 520 nm 파장에 대한 잔광 특성이 1000분 이상 지속되는 우수한 장잔광 특성을 나타내었다.

  • It has been increasingly recognized that the safety analysis considering fracture mechanics is required of the pressure vessels made of 2 1/4 Cr-1Mo steel for safe operation due to temper-embrittlement during long term service. In this study, the fracture toughnesses of degraded and recovered 2 1/4 Cr-1Mo steels have been studied with J$_{IC}$ test specimens at room temperature and the results will be compared with the data obtained from the Charpy impact test. The fracture toughness data from above experiments will be applied to life prediction based on the surface crack growth for degraded and recovered Cr-Mo pressure vessels.

Generation of Pressure/Temperature Limit Curve for Reactor Operation (원자로 운전을 위한 압력/온도 한계곡선의 설정)

  • A reactor pressure vessel, which contains fuel assemblies and reactor vessel internals, has the thermal stress resulting from the cool-down and heat-up of the vessel wall in combination with the pressure stress from system pressure resulting in large stresses. The combination of the pressure stress and thermal stress along with a decrease in fracture toughness may cause through-wall propagation of a relatively small crack. Therefore, it is necessary to define the relations between operating pressure and temperature during cool-down and heat-up. In this study, theory of fracture mechanics for a pressure/temperature limit curve is investigated and a numerical procedure for generating it is developed. Plant-specific limit curves for the Kori unit 1 plant, the oldest nuclear power plant in Korea, have been obtained for several cooling and heating rates and their results are discussed.

Analysis on Improving Power of Thermal Radiation Shield in Low Pressure Chamber of AMTEC (AMTEC내 저압용기에서의 열복사차단막 형상에 따른 발전량 향상 해석)

  • The most efficient system for converting heat to electricity, AMTEC (Alkali Metal Thermal-to-Electric Convertor), is a device that directly converts heat energy to electricity using an alkali metal (sodium) as the working fluid. The AMTEC consists of a low pressure chamber, high pressure chamber, BASE (Beta-Alumina Solid Electrolyte), and artery wick. The main heat loss of the AMTEC system occurs in the low pressure chamber. A high power generation rate is thought to be obtainable by using a high temperature in the BASE. Therefore, to reduce the radiation heat loss, 6 types of radiation shields were examined to reduce the radiative heat loss in the low pressure chamber. The power generation rate of the AMTEC varied depending on the shape of the radiation shield. CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analyses were carried out to optimize the shape of the radiation shield. As a result, the optimum radiation shield was found to consist of a curvature formed at the vertical point, in which case the dimensionless temperature (condenser temperature/BASE temperature) is approximately 0.665 and the maximum power generated is calculated to be 17.69W. Increasing the distance beween the BASE and condenser leads to an increase in the power generated, and the power generated with the longest distance was 17.58 W. The shields with multiple holes and multiple horizontal layers showed power reduction rates of 0.91 W and 2.06 W, respectively.
