Designing a Warning System for Lane Departure during High Speed Autonomous Driving (고속 자율 주행 중 차선 이탈시 경고시스템 설계)

  • In this paper, in order to prevent accidents when deviating from the lane during high-speed self-driving, we are going to design a warning system that will sound an alarm after recognizing the surrounding situation with a $360^{\circ}$ camera. Accidents often occur while driving on self-driving cars because they try to change lanes excessively or fail to recognize people, animals and objects that appear suddenly when driving at high speeds. The government wants to identify the surrounding situation with cameras when driving off a lane during high-speed autonomous driving, and to create a car that sounds a warning system through a lane departure sensor on the underside of the vehicle to reduce various accidents that occur during self-driving and to have a safer driving system.

Performance Analysis of CFRP Rear Spoiler according to Types of Inner Foam Core under High-speed Driving Condition (고속 주행 상황에서 CFRP 리어 스포일러의 내부 폼 코어 종류에 따른 성능 분석)

  • The inner foam structure plays an important role in the performance of the carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) rear spoiler used in automobiles. However, there is still a lack of studies for the CFRP-based rear spoiler according to the type of inner foam, especially under the high-speed driving condition. With this motivation, we numerically analyze the performance of the CFRP rear spoiler using various cases of the inner foam under the highspeed driving condition. Here, polymethacrylimide (PMI), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and styrene acrylonitrile (SAN) resins are employed as the inner foams in this work. The performances are evaluated using the deformation aspects and vibration characteristics when the driving condition is a high-speed condition (200 km/h). Furthermore, to specifically verify the importance of the inner foam in the high-speed condition, we additionally investigate the performance of the CFRP rear spoiler without the inner foam structure (i.e., hollow type). As a result, it is confirmed that among the types of inner foams utilized in this work, the PMI and PVC inner foams have the best deformation aspect and vibration characteristic, respectively. Note that the hollow-type inner foam has inferior performances compared to other inner foams invoked in this study. Consequently, through this study, it can be confirmed that the inner foam structure can significantly improve the performance of the CFRP spoiler under high-speed driving condition (200 km/h), and also that the strengths of the CFRP spoiler can manifest differently depending on the types of inner foam core.

Characteristic Analysis on Drivers' Glance Durations with Different Running Speeds on the Expressway (고속국도에서의 주행속도 차이에 따른 운전자 평균 주시시간 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Drivers can receive diverse types of traffic information through a number of methods. However, there are not enough information services considering human factors. In this study, as a basic research on human factors of the drivers, characteristic analysis on drivers' mean glance (fixation) durations with different running speeds on the expressway was performed under diverse running environments. To control variables other than running speeds, running environments were categorized into 4 types: 'daytime running without preceding vehicles', 'daytime running with preceding vehicles', 'nighttime running without preceding vehicles', and 'nighttime running with preceding vehicles'. Furthermore, ANOVA Test was used to divide speed groups. As a result of performing a multiple comparison to compare differences in glance behavior per each group, the road item and the preceding vehicles item showed an increase in mean glance durations as the speed increased, while the front view showed a decrease in mean glance durations. It was confirmed that the road sign showed no statistically significant difference in glance durations as the speed varied.

  • In this paper, we devise a new ontology-based context-aware system to recognize the smart car information, in which driver's intent is utilized by information of car, driver, environment as well as driving state, driver state. So proposed system can handle dynamically risk changes by adding real-time situational awareness information. We utilize the camera image recognition technology for context-aware intelligent vehicle driving information, and implement information acquisition scheme OBD-II protocol to acquire vehicle's information. Experiments confirm that the proposed advanced driver safety assist system outperforms the conventional system, which only utilizes the information of vehicle, driver, and environmental information, to support the service of a high-speed driving, lane-departure service and emergency braking situation awareness.

  • 빛의 반사시간 및 산란정보를 측정하여 기상정보를 수집하던 초기 라이다 기술은 실내외 3차원 정보를 확보하는 센서 기술로 응용 영역을 확대하고 있다. 특히 최근에는 자율주행차/스마트카를 중심으로 차량/보행자의 안전과 고도화된 자율주행 성능을 위하여 차량 주변 환경에 대한 3차원 좌표를 고속으로 획득하는 라이다 기술의 중요성이 부각되고 있으며, 이에 따라 관련 기술에 대한 이해와 동향파악이 필요하다. 이에 본고에서는 차량에 적용될 수 있는 라이다 기반 3차원 영상센서 기술 전반에 대한 리뷰를 진행하고, 자율주행차/스마트카 시장에서 핵심이슈 및 기술별 대응 특징을 소개한다. 아울러 3차원 센서기술의 글로벌 경쟁상황을 기반으로 향후 차량용 라이다 기술의 발전방향을 전망해 본다.

Study on Dynamic Responses of Bridges Using High-speed Railway Vehicle Models (고속전철차량모형화에 따른 교량의 동적거동에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구에서는 고속철도에서 차량·교량 구조물의 상호작용을 가능한 정밀하게 취급할 수 있는 3차원 해석모형을 개발하였다. 경부고속철도 교량형식인 PSC 박스거더 교량을 40m 단순 와 25-40-25m 3경간 연속 에 대해 뼈대요소를 사용하여 3차원으로 모형 하였으며, 궤도의 불규칙성은 정상확률과정으로 가정하고, 지수 스펙트럼 밀도함수를 사용하여 궤도의 형상을 생성시켰다. 열차는 경부고속철도 차량 하중효과가 가장 큰 동력차 만을 대상으로 17 자유도 모형과 38 자유도 모형으로 분리하여 개발하였다. 다양한 조건에 대한 분석결과를 검토하면 여러 가지 상황에서 38 자유도 모형의 필수 성이 보여지고 있다. 특히 교량의 솟음 및 장기 처짐에 의한 궤도형상변화가 있는 경우에는 반드시 38 자유도 모형이 적용되어야 하는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 제동하중이 작용할 때 쏠림 효과에 의한 영향이 큰 것으로 평가되어, 제동에 의한 교량의 동적 거동은 종변 위에 대한 자유 도를 고려할 수 있는 주행차량모형으로 해석되어야 함이 규명되었다.

  • Conventionally, 2WS is used for vehicle sleeting, which can only steering front wheel. In case of trying to high speed slalom or emergency through this kind of vehicle equipped 2WS, it may occur much of side slip angle. On the other hand, 4WS makes decreasing of side slip angle, outstandingly, so it is possible to support vehicle movement stable. And conventional ABS and TCS can only possible control the longitudinal movement of braking equipment and drive which can only availab to control of longitudinal direction. There after new braking system ESP was developed, which controls both of longitudinal and lateral, with adding of the function of controlling Active Yaw Moment. On this paper, we show about not only designing of improed braking and steering system through establishing of the integrated control system design of 4WS and ESP but also designing of the system contribute to precautious for advanced vehicle stability problem.

  • This paper proposed yaw moment control scheme using braking and active rear wheel steering for improving driving stability especially in high speed driving. Its characteristics the unified chassis control system of two equipment that 4WS(4 Wheel Steering) and ESP(Electronic Stability Program). in this study the performance of the vehicle was compared each equipment. And conventional ABS and TCS can only possible to control the longitudinal movement of braking equipment and drive which can only available to control of longitudinal direction. There after new braking system ESP was developed, which controls both of longitudinal and lateral, with adding of the function of controlling Active Yaw Moment. Analysis of Dynamic Response Characteristics for KTX and EMU High-Speed Trains on PSC-Box Railway Bridges (PSC-box 철도교량의 KTX 및 EMU 고속열차에 대한 동적 응답 특성 분석)

  • The majority of high-speed railway bridges along the domestic Gyeongbu and Honam lines feature a PSC-box type structure with a span length ranging from 35 to 40m, which typically exhibits a first bending natural frequency of approximately 4 to 5Hz. When KTX high-speed trains transverse these bridges at speeds ranging from 290 to 310km/h, the vibration induced by the trains approaches the first bending natural frequency of the bridge. Furthermore, with the upcoming operation of a EMU-320 high-speed train and the anticipated increase in the speeds of these high-speed trains, there is a need to analyze the dynamic response of high-speed railway bridges. For this, based on measured responses from actual railway bridges, a numerical model was constructed using a numerical model updating technique. The dynamic response of the updated numerical model exhibited a strong agreement with the measured response from the actual railway bridges. Subsequently, this updated model was utilized to analyze the dynamic response characteristics of the bridges when KTX and EMU-320 trains operate at increased speeds. The maximum vertical displacement and acceleration at the mid-span of the bridges were also compared to those specified in the railway design standard with the increasing speed of KTX and EMU-320.
