3D-QSAR Analyses on the Inhibition Activity of 4-($R_1$)-Benzyl Alcohol and 4-($R_2$)-Phenol Analogues Against Tyrosinase (4-($R_1$)-Benzyl alcohol 및 4-($R_2$)-Phenol 유도체들의 Tyrosinase 활성 저해에 대한 3D-QSAR 분석)

  • The 3-dimensional quantitative structure-activity relationships (3D-QSARs) models between the substituents with changing groups ($R_1$ & $R_2$) of 4-($R_1$)-benzyl alcohol and 4-($R_2$)-phenol derivatives as substrate molecule and their inhibitory activities against tyrosinase were derived and discussed quantitatively. The optimized CoMSIA 2 model have best predictability and fitness ($r^2\;=\;0.858$ & $q^2\;=\;0.951$). The contour maps of optimized CoMSIA 2 model showed that, the inhibitory activities of the analogues against tyrosinase were expected to increase when hydrophobic favor, negative charge favor, steric disfavor and hydrogen bond donor disfavor groups were substituted at the $R^2$ position. When the positive charge and the hydrogen bond donor favor groups were substituted at the $R_1$ position, it is predicted that the substituents will be able to increase the inhibitory activity. However, hydrogen bond acceptor did not affect inhibitory activities of tyrosinase.

Selection of Compound Leaf Position for Sap Test of Hydroponic Tomato and Relationship between Inorganic Elements of Sap and Dried Matter (양액재배 토마토의 즙액검정을 위한 엽위 선정과 즙액 및 건물체의 무기원소 상관 관계)

  • Research was conducted to establish the leaf and petiole sap test to diagnose the nutritional status of tomato. The concentrations of $NO_3$, $PO_4$, K, Ca, Mg and $SO_4$ ions extracted from the leaves and petioles in the different positions in a plant were measured and compared with their corresponding inorganic contents in the leaves analyzed by the chemical method. The ionic concentrations in the leaf and petiole sap showed the different values depending on their positions in a plant. The leaves and petioles in the lower positions of a plant had higher concentrations of $NO_3$, Ca, Mg and $SO_4$ ions. In particular, there were greater changes of ionic concentrations and less increases in the leaf length and width from the 9th compound leaf down from the uppermost cluster. On the other hand, the leaflets in a compound leaf had the same ionic concentrations. Therefore, it appeared that the optimal sampling position of leaf and petiole for the sap test is the leaflets of the 9th compound leaf down from the uppermost cluster. A good correlation between the sap test and the chemical analysis of plant showed that the ionic concentrations in the leaf and petiole sap reflect the nutritional status of tomatoes.

  • 16세기부터 씌워진 과실봉지는 초기 병해충을 방지할 목적만으로 사용되었지만, 현재는 방균과 방충의 효과와 함께 자연현상의 최적화를 위한 차광성, 발수성, 투기성 및 투습성 등 을 조절하며 과실의 외관과 과중 및 당도에까지 영향을 미치는 바 과실봉지의 기능성 부여 를 위해서는 고도의 기술력이 요구되고 있다 하겠다. 실제 과실봉지를 적용하는 한 예로서 “배”를 들 수 있는데, 그 중 황금배는 흑반병, 각 종 병충해 및 동녹으로 인한 상품가치의 하락으로 현재 수요를 충족시키지 못하고 있는 실 정이다. 과피의 비정상적인 코르크화로 인해 발생하는 동녹은 과피의 물리적 할렬과 생리적 장해에 의해 발생하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 과실이 비대해짐에 따라 과피의 기공(과점)이 할 렬하면서 코르크화가 진행되는데 그 발생정도나 시기는 배의 품종에 따라 다르나 일반적으 로 코르크화는 기상조건, 특히 습도와 밀접한 관련이 있다. 황금배의 재배에 봉지를 적용하면 과피의 코르크화가 억제되는데 봉지 내의 대기 환경 이 외기보다 안정적으로 유지되고 직사광선이나 농약 및 마찰로부터 과실을 보호해 주기에 동녹이 어느 정도 방지될 수 있다. 만일 과실이 외부로부터 받는 자극을 적절히 조절하는 기능성 봉지가 제 역할을 다해줄 수 있다면 동녹을 방지하여 외관을 개선함은 물론, 배의 성장에 적합한 미시대기 조건을 제공함에 따라 보다 높은 당도를 지닌 대과의 재배가 가능 하다고 판단된다. 그러나 기존의 황금배봉지는 동녹의 정도를 완화시킬 뿐 완전히 방지할 수 없었으며, 봉지를 적용한 재배조건에서의 동녹 발생기구를 정확히 이해하지 못했었기에 효과적으로 봉지의 기능을 개선하는 것이 불가능하였다. 과실의 미려도는 과실의 맛과 함께 그 가치를 결정짓는 중요한 물성으로서 우리나라 황 금배 재배환경과 특성에 알맞은 배봉지의 제작이 선결될 때, 배 품질의 향상, 안정된 공급이 가능하게 될 것이며 아울러 농가의 수입증대와 수출 경쟁력 강화가 이루어질 수 있을 것으 로 판단된다. 이러한 측면에서 황금배 재배농가가 당면한 동녹발생의 문제점을 효과적으로 해결하고 아울러 기타 과실의 재배용 봉지의 기능성 부여를 위한 새로운 과실 봉지 처리 기 술의 개발이 절실히 요구되고 있다. 상기한 측면에서 본 연구에서는 과실봉지를 적용했을 때 봉지 내의 미시대기 조건이 봉 지의 특성에 따라 변화되는 양상을 파악하기 위해서 실험실적으로 field 조건을 모사하고 봉 지 내의 온도 및 습도를 측정 분석하였다. 아울러 봉지 종류간에 동녹발생 정도가 상이한 점에 예의 주시하여 다양한 봉지의 적용실험을 통해 최적의 과실봉지 조건을 탐색하였다.

SCI에 등재된 과학기술 논문 발표 현황

  • 고도의 정보사회가 될 것으로 예견되는 21세기 전 세계는 창의적이고 원천적인 과학기술을 지속적으로 창출하면서 선진적 우위확보를 위해 치열한 경쟁을 벌이고 있다. 우리나라도 지금까지 이룩한 경제성장을 발판으로 이제부터는 더욱 생산적이고 독창적인 세계 일류 지식과 과학기술을 창출해 내야 할 위치에 있다. 세계적으로 새로운 지식은 대부분 학술지와 도서를 통해 발표되고 있으며, 미국의 과학정보기구인 ISI(Institute for Scientific Information)는 세계의 우수 학술지를 평가하여 그 중에서 가장 영향력이 높은 3~4%의 학술지를 SCI(Science Citation Index), SSIC(Social Science Citation Index), AHCI(Arts and Humanities Citation Index)로 전별하여 발표하고 있음은 잘 알려진 바와 같다. 우리 학계에서도 수 년 전부터 연구업적 등의 평가에 이들 분류를 적극 활용하고 있으며, 개개의 연구자들도 연구성과를 SCI 등에 등재된 학술지에 발표하기 위한 노력을 배가하고 있는 실정이다. 그러나 안타까운 것은 우리나라에서 발간되는 학술지 중 과학기술 분야 단 5종만이 SCI에 등재되어 있을 뿐이어서 우리의 학문이 세계적으로 교류되고 인정받는데 상대적으로 불리한 위치에 있다는 사실이다. 국내 학술지가 이들Index에 등재될 경우 우리의 연구성과가 보다 빠르고 쉽게 국제적으로 소개.인정되며, 이는 우리의 과학기술 수준을 한 단계 높이는데 첩경이 될 것이라는 점은 의심의 여지가 없다. 과학기술 평가과정은 측정 가능한 연구투자와 연구결과 현상으로 간주할 수 있는데, 일반적으로 연구투자는 연구투자에 필요한 모든 요소들이 실체적이며 평가하는 데에 있어서 인력, 재정 자원, 장비, 재료, 건물 등과 같이 구체적이고 경험을 요구하지 않기 때문에 그 모든 연구결과보다 평가하기가 용이하나 과학기술의 연구결과는 연구 과정을 통해 보다 비실체적이고 양적으로 측정하기 어려운 지식으로 구성되어 있어 평가하는데 어려움이 뒤따른다. 과학기술 연구결과를 양적이나 질적으로 측정하는데 있어 일반적으로 이용되는 시스템은 없으나 국가의 과학기술 수준은 보통 그 나라 과학기술 활동의 연구결과를 과학기술 생산성이나 연구결과물 즉 논문 등의 출판을 통한 배포나 인용분석 등에 기초한 양적 평가지표를 이용해 측정하는 서지적 방법에 의해 평가되고 있다.연구활동 결과로 발표된 연구논문은 새로운 연구논문의 자료로 인용되게 되는데, 일반적으로 인용이 많이 된 논문일수록 질적인 가치가 높다고 하므로 논문의 발표량과 인용된 횟수는 연구활동을 평가하는 척도로 활용점에 따라 과학기술분야 논문의 국가별, 기관별, 분야별 논문수와 피인용도는 과학기술 수준 평가의 척도가 될 수 있으며 이러한 평가는 과학기술 정책 수립 및 투자, 연구활동에 대한 평가 등의 중요한 자료로 활용될 수 있다. 과학기술분야 전반에 걸친 SCI 기반의 NSI, NCR 데이터베이스를 분석하여 우리나라 과학기술분야의 수준을 평가할 수 있는 지표를 산출하여 우리나라의 과학기술 수준을 정확히 파악하고, 세계 추세를 분석하여 앞으로 나아갈 정책방향을 설정하는데 도움이 되도록 하며, 국내 기관별, 분야별 분석을 통하여 과학기술 수준을 평가할 수 있는 객관적인 자료를 제공함과 동시에 국내 연구 인력간의 건전한 경쟁을 유도하여 과학기술 발전에 기여하고자 한다.

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the site and growth characteristics of dominating Cornus controversa in the hardwood stands at Mt. Gariwang and Mt. Joongwang area located in Pyungchang-gun, Kangwon-do. The C. controversa was mainly distributed at the rather steep slope and aspect facing from northeast to northwest, and altitudes ranging from 800 to 1,100m. The C. controversa grew at relatively deep A soil layer with high moisture and nutrients. Major competing species in upper stories were Quercus mongolica, Acer mandshuricum, Salix hulteni, Acer pictum, and herb plants such as Polystichum tripteron, Dryopteris crassirhizoma, Meehania urticifolia, Pseudostellaria pahbiniana, Ligularia fischeri, Impatiens noli-tangere, Corydalis speciosa in the floor. The average annual diameter growth of C. controversa according to the altitude was $4.06({\pm}0.90)mm$ below 900m, $2.51({\pm}0.65)mm$ from 900 to 1,000m, $3.28({\pm}0.12)mm$ from 1,000m to 1,100m and $2.81({\pm}0.35)mm$ above 1,100m. Good annual growth was shown at northwest site, but no difference due to micro-topography.

CoMFA and CoMSIA Analysis on the Fungicidal Activity against Damping-off (Pythium ultimum) with N-phenylbenzenesulfonamide Analogues (N-phenylbenzenesulfonamide 유도체들에 의한 모잘록병균 (Pythium ultimum)의 살균활성에 관한 CoMFA 및 CoMSIA분석)

  • Three-dimensional quantitative structure-activity relationships (3D-QSARs) on the fungicidal activity against damping-off (Pythium ultimum) with N-phenylbenzenesulfonamide and N-phenyl-2-thienylsulfonamide analogues (1-34) were studied quantitatively using CoMFA (comparative molecular field analysis) and CoMSIA (comparative molecular similarity indeces analysis) methodologies. On the whole, the statistical qualities of CoMSIA models with field fit alignment (FF1-FF5) were slightly higher than that of atom based fit alignment (AF1-AF5) but, the deviations of statistical quality between two alignments in case of CoMFA models were slightly lower. The statistical results of CoMFA and CoMSIA model showed that the optimized CoMSIA model (FF1: $r_{cv.}^2\;(q^2)=0.674$ & $r_{ncv.}^2=0.964$) for damping-off is better predictability and fitness for fungicidal activities than CoMFA model (AF5: $r_{cv.}^2\;(q^2)=0.616$ & $r_{ncv.}^2=0.930$). The fungicidal activities according to the information of the CoMSIA (FF1) model were dependence upon the electrostatic and hydrophobic field of the N-phenylbenzene sulfonamide analogues. Therefore, from the results of graphical analyses on the contour maps with CoMSIA (FF3) model, it is expected that the characters of R4-substituent on the N-phenyl ring as hydrophobic and hydrogen bond acceptor will be contributed to the fungicidal activity against damping-off.

Minimum Structural Requirements of R-phenoxy Substituents for Herbicidal Evaluation of O-(2-phenoxy)ethyl-N-aralkylcarbamate Analogues against Phytoene Desaturase (Phytoene Desaturase에 대한 O-(2-Phenoxy)ethyl-N-aralkylcarbamates 유도체의 제초성 평가를 위한 R-phenoxy 치환기들의 구조적인 요건)

  • The minimum structural requirements of R-phenoxy substituents for herbicidal evaluation of O-(2-(R)-phenoxy)-ethyl-N-aralkylcarbamate (1-15) analogues against phytoene desaturase (PDS) based on the three dimensional quantitative structure-activity relationships (3D-QSARs: CoMFA and CoMSIA) were studied quantitatively. The correlativity and predictability ($r^2_{cv.}=0.753$ and $r^2_{ncv.}=0.964$) of the CoMFA 1 model were higher than those of the rest models. The PDS inhibitory activities from the optimized CoMFA 1 model were depend upon the steric field (44.0%), electrostatic field (36.3%), and hydrophobic field (19.6%) of O-(2-(R)-phenoxy)ethyl-Naralkylcarbamate analogues. From the CoMFA contour maps on the structure of the most active compound (5), if it has the steric favor at meta-, para-position on the phenoxy ring, the negative charge favor in meta-position and positive charge favor in the outside part of para-position, the inhibitory activity will be predicted to increase. Also, if ortho-, para-position, and outside of phenoxy ring are hydrophilic favor, and meta-position is hydrophobic favor, it is predicted that the inhibitory activity against PDS will be able to increase.

Effects of the Feeding Methods on Body Growth and Sexual Maturity in Broiler Breeder Males (육용종웅계의 사양방법이 체성장 및 성 성숙에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was conducted to find out the effects of the six different feeding methods on the development of body weight, testis, comb and pituitary gland, and the sexual maturity of White Plymouth Rock cockerels. From hatching to 22 weeks of age, the weights of whole body, testis, comb and pituitary gland, and the histological changes of testis and the semen characteristics were checked every other week. The results obtained in this expeniment were as follows: 1. The growth rates of the self-feeding groups were faster than those of the limited feeding groups (70 percent of the self-feeding) by about 2 weeks. The weights of testis and comb showed the most marked increase at 20 weeks of age in the self-feeding groups and at 22 weeks of age in the limited feeding groups, respectively. 2. The weights of pituitary gland from hatching to 22 weeks of age at all observation weeks were not recognised significantly among the compared groups except 4, 14 and 16 weeks of age. 3. Correlations between week of age, body weight, testis, comb and pituitary gland, in the course of 22 weeks, were highly significant. 4. The diameters of lumina and tubules in the seminiferous tubules increased very slowly until 10 weeks of age. They showed the most marked increase at 12 weeks of age in the self-feeding groups and at 14 weeks of age in the limited feeding groups, and then continuously increased until 32 weeks of. age. 5. Primary spermatocytes appeared at first at 8 weeks in the all treatment groups, Secondary spermatocytes appeared at first at 10 weeks in the self-feeding groups and at 12 weeks in the limited feeding groups. At 14 weeks of age spermatids and spermatozoa were found at first in the self-feeding groups but spermatids were found in the limited feeding groups. 6. Age of the first ejaculation was between 14 and 16 weeks of age in the all treatment groups. The Average semen. volume and sperm concentration ranged from 0.1-0.2$m\ell$/ ejaculate and 5.6-9.8${\times}$10$\^$8/ sperm/$m\ell$ at the age of the first ejaculation but 0.30-0.35$m\ell$/ ejaculate and 22.4-42.7${\times}$10$\^$8/ sperm int at the 20 weeks of age in the all treatment groups.

  • Since policies of each local government toward regional development have been focusing on only development of the individual applied items such as a character merchandise, co-regional brand, and developing a speciality for the region, the adverse effects of design have been came out. So we carried out this research to minimize the adverse effect of design and also we would like to give the opportunity of thinking of a new way to activate local economy, to create regional identity and to develop local resources by applying the Cl program which have bean used as the way of business improvement coping with the conceptional change of competitiveness with a comprehensive view. Therefore, for design to play an important role in regional development, as standing on the basis of regional development it is necessary to attain the various goals such as activating administrative organization, improving the administrative image, and making the local in go unique. And also it is necessary to develop the communicational strategy as an innovative and expressive program which can consider human network development as an regional resource. To carry out this communicational strategy effectively, in particular, it is not only inevitable to operate the strategic and comprehensive programs promoting the regional development according to the of 6 stages design develop cent program which consists of region's self-verification and self-recognition, self-determination, development of self-innovation, visibility to unify the regional images, creating the design system, and carrying out and verifying the program, but also it is necessary to apply regional development system which can change the regional basic plan, aiming at regional development, into unique regional trait that has an future image by improving the program with constant management and feedback through verifying the design program.

The Search of Pig Pheromonal Odorants for Biostimulation Control System Technologies: III.   • To search of new porcine pheromonal odorants for biostimulation control system technologies to improve reproductive efficiency in livestock species, the comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA) for binding affinity constant $(p(Od)_{50})$ between porcine odorant binding protein (pOBP) and ligands of odorant 2-(cyclohexyloxy) tetrahydrofurane derivatives as substrate molecule was conducted and discussed. In the optimized CoMFA model AIV with chirality $(C_1'(R),\;C_2(S))$ in substrate molecule and atom based fit alignment (A) of odorants, the statistical results showed the best predictability of the binding affinities $(p(Od)_{50})$ based on the LOO cross-validated value $r^2_{cv}.\;(q^2=0.886)$ and non-cross-validated conventional coefficient $(r^2_{ncv}.=0.984)$. the binding affinity constants exhibited a good correlation with steric (40.8%), electrostatic (14.6%) and hydrophobic (44.6%) factors of the substrate molecules. from the analytical results of the contour maps, which may give us some valuable informations to the modification of odorants for effective binding affinity.
