Dynamic Density-based Inhibited Message Diffusion For Reducing Overhead In Delay Tolerant Network (DTN에서 오버헤드 감소를 위한 동적 밀도 기반 메시지 확산 억제 기법)

  • In this paper, we proposed an algorithm of the unnecessary copied message inhibition using dynamic density what is called DDIM(Dynamic Density-based Inhibited Message diffusion) in DTNs(Delay Tolerant Networks). Existing DTN routing algorithms as Epidemic and Spray and Wait have some problems that occur large overhead in dense network due to the thoughtless message diffusion. Our proposed method, the DDIM, determines adjusted number of copied message through dynamic node density that is calculated using node's radio coverage and neighbor nodes in period time to solve message diffusion problem. It decrease overhead without losing message delivery ratio and increased latency through reducing message diffusion. In this paper, we compare delivery ratio, average latency and overhead of proposed algorithm, DDIM, and existing DTN routing algorithm and prove enhanced performance through simulation results.

An Algorithm for Computing Range-Groupby Queries (영역-그룹화 질의 계산 알고리즘)

  • Aggregation is an important operation that affects the performance of OLAP systems. In this paper we define a new class of aggregation queries, called range-groupby queries, and present a method for processing them. A range-groupby query is defined as a query that, for an arbitrarily specified region of an n-dimensional cube, computes aggregations for each combination of values of the grouping attributes. Range-groupby queries are used very frequently in analyzing information in MOLAP since they allow us to summarize various trends in an arbitrarily specified subregion of the domain space. In MOLAP applications, in order to improve the performance of query processing, a method of maintaining precomputed aggregation results, called the prefix-sum array, is widely used. For the case of range-groupby queries, however, maintaining precomputed aggregation results for each combination of the grouping attributes incurs enormous storage overhead. Here, we propose a fast algorithm that can compute range-groupby queries with minimal storage overhead. Our algorithm maintains only one prefix-sum away and still effectively processes range-groupby queries for all possible combinations of the grouping attributes. Compared with the method that maintains a prefix-sum array for each combination of the grouping attributes in an n-dimensional cube, our algorithm reduces the space overhead by (equation omitted), while accessing a similar number of cells.

Systematic Network Coding for Computational Efficiency and Energy Efficiency in Wireless Body Area Networks (무선 인체 네트워크에서의 계산 효율과 에너지 효율 향상을 위한 시스테매틱 네트워크 코딩)

  • Recently, wireless body area network (WBAN) has received much attention as an application for the ubiquitous healthcare system. In WBAN, each sensor nodes and a personal base station such as PDA have an energy constraint and computation overhead should be minimized due to node's limited computing power and memory constraint. The reliable data transmission also must be guaranteed because it handles vital signals. In this paper, we propose a systematic network coding scheme for WBAN to reduce the network coding overhead as well as total energy consumption for completion the transmission. We model the proposed scheme using Markov chain. To minimize the total energy consumption for completing the data transmission, we made the problem as a minimization problem and find an optimal solution. Our simulation result shows that large amount of energy reduction is achieved by proposed systematic network coding. Also, the proposed scheme reduces the computational overhead of network coding imposed on each node by simplify the decoding process.

Data Statical Analysis based Data Filtering Scheme for Monitoring System on Wireless Sensor Network (무선 센서 네트워크 모니터링 시스템을 위한 데이터 통계 분석 기반 데이터 필터링 기법)

  • Recently, various monitoring systems are implemented actively by using wireless sensor networks(WSN). When implementing WSN-based monitoring system, there are three important issues to consider. At First, we need to consider a sensor node failure detection method to support the ongoing monitoring. Secondly, because sensor nodes use limited battery power, we need an efficient data filtering method to reduce energy consumption. At Last, a reducing processing overhead method is necessary. The existing Kalman filtering scheme has good performance on data filtering, but it causes too much processing overhead to estimate sensed data. To solve these problems, we, in this paper, propose a new data filtering scheme based on data statical analysis. First, the proposed scheme periodically aggregates node survival massages to support a node failure detection. Secondly, to reduce energy consumption, it sends the sample data with a node survival massage and do data filtering based on those messages. Finally, it analyzes the sample data to estimate filtering range in a server. As a result, each sensor node can use only simple compare operation for filtering data. In addition, we show from our performance analysis that the proposed scheme outperforms the Kalman filtering scheme in terms of the number of sending messages.

  • 은닉 서명은, 정보 은닉성이 가지는 정보와 서명 사이의 무연관성(unlinlability) 때문에 전자 지불 시스템에서 응용되고 있다. 은닉 서명 생성 과정에 사용되는 계산식에 나타나는 역원 인자 연산은 다른 소수나 이산 대수 기저값과는 달리, 전처리 과정에서 계산될 수 없는 실시간 계산을 추가적으로 요구한다. 이것은 은닉 서명이 전자 지불 시스템에 사용되는 경우, 전체 시스템에 대한 오버헤드로 작용할 수 있는 문제점이 될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 Okamoto가 제시한 Schnorr 기반 은닉 서명 기법을 근간으로, 은닉 서명 계산 과정에서 역원 계산을 제거하여 은닉 서명 생성 속도를 향상시킬 수 있는 방안을 제시한다.

  • VLIW에서는 프로그램 코드를 병렬화 하는 작업이 모두 컴파일러에 의해서만 이루어진다. 따라서 병렬로 수행될 연산어들을 명시적으로 나타내 주어야 하며, 이를 위한 명령어 인코딩 방식으로 전개 인코딩 방식과 압축 인코딩 방식이 사용되어 왔다. 각 인코딩 방식들은 명령어의 적재 및 검색을 위해 서로 다른 캐쉬 구조를 필요로 하는데, 전개 인코딩 방식으로 비압축 캐쉬를 압축 인코딩 방식으로 압축 캐쉬를 사용하고 있다. 그러나 이들은 각각 무효 연산어로 인한 메모리 활용 효율 저하와 복원 과정으로 인한 명령어 인출 오버헤드의 증가라는 문제점을 안고 있다. 본 논문에서는 부분적으로 명령어 길이를 일정하게 유지하는 부분 압축 인코딩을 사용해 메모리 활용 효율을 높이는 동시에 명령어 인출 오버헤드를 줄일 수 있는 분할 캐쉬 구조를 제안한다. 각 캐쉬 구조를 구현하는데 필요한 칩 영역을 계산하여, 분할 캐쉬가 비교적 비용 효율적인 캐쉬 구조임을 확인하였다. 모의 실험을 통한 메모리 활용 효율 측정 결과 하드웨어 비용의 증가를 고려하더라도 분할 캐쉬는 비압축 캐쉬에 비해 최고 약 3배의 메모리 활용 효율을 얻을 수 있었다. 각 캐쉬 구조를 일차 캐쉬로 하는 VLIW 시스템들의 성능 측정 결과는 TCSC(블록 집중형 분할 캐쉬)를 사용한 시스템이 비용 대비 성능 면에서 가장 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

  • In the vehicular ad hoc network environment, the clustering mechanism is one of the efficient mechanisms to deliver broadcast messages. Most clustering mechanisms require message exchanges between vehicles to build stable clusters, which causes overhead. In order to reduce this overhead, CF-IVC [1] proposes the mechanism to construct clusters based on the vehicle speed. However, since CF-IVC does not consider the road traffic condition and the driver's behavior, it may result in inefficient clusters. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a mechanism to establish efficient clusters based on the vehicle local information with considering the road maximum speed limit and the road traffic condition. The performance of the proposed mechanism is validated by comparing with those of the simple flooding and CF-IVC through NS-2 simulations.

Identity-based AAA Authentication Protocol in Mobile Node (모바일 노드에서의 ID기반의 AAA인증 프로토콜)

  • 인터넷의 발달과 사용자 증가로 인해 IETF는 다양한 네트워크와 프로토콜 상에서 안전하고 신뢰성 있는 사용자 인증을 위해 AAA를 제안하였다. 그러나 AAA의 최신 버전인 Diameter 표준의 인증 방식은 상호인증과 부인방지를 제공하지 않는다. 이러한 Diameter의 인증을 보완하기 위해 공개키를 이용한 AAA 인증 방식이 제안되었으나, 통신과 연산의 오버헤드로 인해 이동 노드에 적용이 어렵다. 이러한 단점을 극복한 ID 기반 AAA 인증 방식이 제안 되었으나 공모공격과 위장공격으로부터의 취약점을 가진다. 이 논문에서는 공모공격과 위장공격에 안전하고, 계산적 전력적 능력이 부족한 이동 노드의 연산량을 감소시키는 새로운 ID기반 AAA인증 방식을 제안한다. 제안한 방식의 검증을 위해 기존 방식을 비교 평가하여 암호학적인 안전성과 연산량의 효율성을 검증한다. 제안 방식은 이동 노드의 인증시 2개의 난수를 생성하여 안전성을 제공하며, Mobile 노드의 지수연산을 줄임으로 계산 전력적 측면에서 효율적이고 서버의 성능에 따라 인증 수행 시간을 감소 시켜 끊김 없는 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 장점을 갖는다.

A Study of Routing Path Decision Method Supporting Mobility of Sink (싱크의 이동기능 지원을 위한 사전 경로배정방식 연구)

  • If a sink can move in sensor networks, the routing change can be more occur. If the sink has the mobility, it moves in sensor network area so that the connection between the sink system and sensor nodes will be changed continuously. Hence, the overhead can occur cased by the many routing changed. Therefore, the dynamic routing scheme is needed to support the mobile sink connection. In this paper, we propose the previous connection assignment scheme. The mobile sink can have low cost overhead from calculating dynamic rerouting that it determines the new virtual path before the physical path setup.

The Route Re-acquisition Algorithm for Ad Hoc Networks (애드혹 네트워크의 경로 재설정 라우팅 기법)

  • The existing route re-establishment methods which intend to extend the lifetime of the network attempt to find new routes in order not to overly consume energy of certain nodes. These methods outperform other routing algorithms in the network lifetime extension aspect because they try to consume energy evenly for the entire network. However, these algorithms involve heavy signaling overheads because they find new routes based on the flooding method and route re-acquisition occurs often. Because of the overhead they often can not achieve the level of performance they intend to. In this paper, we propose a new route re-acquisition algorithm ARROW which takes into account the cost involved in the packet transmission and the route re-acquisition. Since the proposed algorithm considers future route re-acquisition costs when it first finds the route, it spends less energy to transmit given amount of data while evenly consuming the energy as much as possible. Using 2-dimensional Markov Chain model, we compare the performance of the proposed algorithm and that of other algorithms. Analysis results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the existing route re-acquisition methods in the signaling overhead and network lifetime aspects.
