"The time vs. money effect" on undergraduate consumers' responses : Product type as a moderator (대학생 소비자에게 미치는 "시간 대 돈 효과" : 조절변인으로써의 제품유형)

  • "Time versus money effect" refers to a favorable shift in consumers' responses activated by time(vs. money). In general, how people spend their time or money could reflect one's personal identity. Previous research indicates that drawing individuals' attention to time makes more effective in product satisfaction rather than money. Also, whereas because time is experienced as an experience, time activates more positive product satisfaction for experiential product rather than materialistic product, money has the reverse effect because money relates with possessions. Present study examined the effect of time and money on consumers' attitudes and decisions and the role of product type including smartphone. In experiment 1, participants evaluated their experiences or their own products(family restaurant, smartphone, premium jean). They satisfied more with their smartphones when activated by time than by money. In experiment 2, 3 image ads, a promotion image ad for each product(family restaurant, smartphone, premium jean), were offered to find the effect of time and money in promotion ads. The interaction effects between activating condition and product type were revealed on the product attitudes, product satisfaction, purchase intent, and personal connection reflecting the consistent time effect on smartphone. In addition, the main effect of the activating condition was significant which meant time activating ads were more effective than money activating ads.

The Effect of Consumers' Need for Uniqueness (CNFU) on Attitude Formation toward Experience versus Search Attributes of Products (소비자의 독특함에 대한 욕구가 제품의 경험적 및 탐색적 특징에 대한 태도 형성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The influence of information on other's preference on one's attitude formation can vary with consumer's uniqueness motive and product attributes. When high-CNFU individuals are given the information on the preference of others toward an experience attribute, the uniqueness aspect of their self-identity is aroused. As conforming to others' preference causes concern that their uniqueness-related self-esteem is threatened, they contrast away from the majority. On the other hand, they form their attitude toward search attributes regardless of the preference of others. In contrast, for low-CNFU individuals, knowing the majority's choice of experience attributes does not arouse the uniqueness aspect of their self-identity and not threaten their self-esteem. Thus, they tend to conform to the majority regardless of the type of product attributes. This study suggests whether or not the attribute signals the identity of a person as another criterion that distinguishes experience and search attributes. The results imply that when targeting a consumer with a strong desire for uniqueness, it would be more effective for a company to develop features that are not popular.

  • 현대의 소비자는 더 이상 단순히 감성적 소구에 의해서나 기술적 기능을 제공하는 것으로 제품을 구매하지 않는다. 제품의 결정은 사용자와 제품 간의 상호작용에 따른 정서, 인지, 행위 등에 의한 총체적인 경험에 의한 것이며, 그러한 소비자들의 경험은 지리적, 역사적 전통으로 고착된 문화적 특성이 제품을 통한 사용자 경험의 기저에서 작용함으로써 문화권 별, 국가 별로 각기 다르게 구성된다. 특별히 음식 문화는 어느 나라이든 자연 조건의 영향과 함께 오랜 역사 속에서 형성되었기 때문에 독특하고 다양한 문화적 차이를 지니고 있으며 이러한 문화적 차이는 냉장고 사용에 있어서 다양한 사용행태를 구분 짓는다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 식품 종류에 의한 영향뿐 아니라 내부 공간 활용의 패턴, 냉장고 환경 설정에 대한 능동적인 태도, 냉장고에서 제공하는 파티션이나 옵션에 대한 수용 정도, 식품의 정리 원칙에 대한 준수 정도 등에 따른 사용행태 간의 차이점을 발견하고, 차별적 사용행태의 기저에 존재하는 문화적 요인을 분석하여 문화적 차이가 사용자의 경험에 영향을 끼치게 됨으로 인하여 냉장고 디자인에 어떠한 변화를 초래하는지 그 연관성을 밝혀내고자 한다. 보다 실제적인 용도로 활용 가능하도록 냉장고 제작의 상업적인 측면을 고려하여 냉장고 내상의 레이아웃에 중점을 두어 본 연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구는 설문과 현장 관찰을 통해 정량적 관찰을 중심으로 분석하였다. 두 국가의 문화 비교를 위한 설문은 이미 여러 연구자료에 의해 검증된 Trompenaars의 문화 변수를 바탕으로 제작 하였다. 또한 정량적 연구에서 발견될 수 없는 문화권 별 여러 특징들에 대한 데이터를 구체적으로 수집하기 위하여 정성적인 연구 방식의 일환으로 실제 관찰 및 사용자 인터뷰를 실시하였으며, 이를 통하여 현상의 원인 및 사용자의 의도를 파악하도록 연구를 진행하였다.

  • Current research and practice have increasingly sought to focus on approaches to facilitate innovation due to its expanding growth of the experience economy over the past decade. Normally, customer experience design aims to maximize the effectiveness of positive experience with a brand or company's touchpoints when customers make a purchase as well as use a certain product or service. In order to design a product or service that can provide varying levels of experiences, there needs more beneficial design process strategies to help resolve the changing nature of customer experience. Design process is one such approach that provides designers as well as researchers across various academic disciplines as an integral source of creativity, driving innovation and growth. In this regard, this study aims to look specifically at the nature of customer experience and attempts to understand what extent that design process in both practice and theoretical perspective can assist in customer experience improvement. As a further consequence, this study will focus on implementing the idea of circular design into the customer experience process, namely the Circular CX Design Process-which is expected to increase effectiveness and efficiency in addressing customer needs and demands as well as delivering positive experiences at various touchpoints along the customer journey.

Study on Experience of Industrial Accidents and Level for Beauty Product Safety of Beauty Industry Employee (미용업 종사자의 사고재해 경험 및 사용제품의 안전에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구는 미용업 분야를 헤어, 네일, 피부, 메이크업으로 나누어 사고재해 실태와 사용 제품에 대한 안전 인식도를 비교하기 위하여 수행되었다. 그 결과 근무하는 사업장의 작업 시 발생하는 유해요인으로는 분진, 근골격계, 화학물질 함유 제품의 유기용제 순으로 높게 나타났으며, 지난 1년 동안의 사고 및 재해는 26.3%가 경험한 것으로 파악되었다. 사고나 재해의 종류로는 베임, 인대 늘어남, 하지정맥류 등의 근골격계 이상이 가장 많았다. 미용업에서 사용되고 있는 제품의 화학물질 함유에 대한 인지도는 77.2%, 중금속 함유에 대하여 인지도는 59.1%로 나타났으며, 미용업 관련 제품의 표시사항(성분, 주의사항 등)에 대한 확인 여부는 '중요한 내용만 확인'한다는 응답이 가장 많았다. 화학물질에 대한 물질안전보건자료(MSDS)의 인지여부는 88.8%가 알지 못하는 것으로 나타났으며, 물질안전보건자료(MSDS)에 대한 인식도 및 사업장의 비치 여부가 낮은 것으로 파악되었다. 안전교육의 필요성은 73.6%로 높게 나타나 안전 교육에 대한 대책 마련이 요구되었다. 본 연구는 미용업 전반에 대한 사고재해 실태 및 안전의식에 관한 포괄적인 연구가 수행되어 미용업 근로자의 안전의식 고취와 정책적 안전관리 방안, 근로자 건강관리의 기초 자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.

User's emotions expressed while using a product and user's satisfaction with the product (제품 사용 중 표출되는 사용자의 감성과 제품 만족도)

  • Due to recent interest in user experience and its significance, much research surrounding this theme is now being conducted. In this research, I investigated user experience during usage of a product and the satisfaction acquired by it, as well as the relationship between satisfaction of having used a product and whether the user would be more likely to purchase another product from the same company. The same experiment was conducted in South Korea and the United States of America in order to get more generalized experimental results. I found that amongst the six representative user emotions expressed while using a product, two of them correlated the most. First, 'Satisfaction in Usability' (the emotions aroused by satisfaction with usage or the practicality of the product); and second, 'Discomfort or Displeasure' (uncomfortable or unpleasant emotions expressed while using a product. The above two factors were found to be of the most influence concerning satisfaction of the product. Also 'Satisfaction in Usability' was found to be of the most influence in their preferability towards purchasing an item from the same company in the future. The significance of this finding is that aside from focussing on the attractiveness of the product's exteriors and design, one should be concerned on the ease of usage and effectiveness as well as usability of the product, all of which contribute to how efficiently a consumer will utilize the product. Furthermore, in agreement with previous research concerning the correlation between satisfaction of a product and positive perspective on consecutive purchases, the result of this study shows that the more satisfaction consumers feel after using a product, the more likely they are to purchase additional merchandises from the same company which manufactured the original product.

VPMweb, A Web based Product Data Browsing System (VPMweb, Web 기반 제품정보 검색 시스템)

  • 본 논문에서는 기업환경에 적합한 Web 기술을 이용하여 제품정보 검색 시스템을 개발, 운영한 사례를 다룬다. 이 시스템은 다국적 설계, 생산, 판매, 그리고 CS 부서에서 Web Browser를 통하여 설계에서 생성한 제품정보를 검색할 수 있도록 한다. 사례에서는 현장환경의 특징과 이를 고려한 구현방법을 아울러 소개한다. 이 시스템은 기존의 PDM Database를 기반으로 개발되었으며 제품구조 기준으로 부품, 서비스, Effectivity 그리고 설계변경 정보를 검색할 수 있도록 구성되어 있다. 아울러 효율적인 시스템 운영을 위한 중앙집중식 Software 배포, Server side script, 그리고 Plug-In의 활용 경험을 소개한다.

  • 정보보호에 대한 사람들의 인식과 관심이 높아짐에 따라 그에 따른 다양한 정보보호제품들이 나오고 있다. 국내외의 정보보호제품들은 각 제품별로 그에 따른 여러 가지의 보안 알고리즘을 사용하여 구현되어 지고 있다. 하지만 그러한 제품들의 신뢰성 판단여부는 아직까지는 경험에 의존되어지고 있는 현실이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 각 보안 알고리즘의 객관적 검증 방법을 제안하고 검증 도구를 구현함으로써 이에 대한 대안을 제시하고자 한다.

  • This study aims to present policy implications by analyzing information security behavior factors of internet users. The research model, based on PMT and UTAUT2, consists of perceived threat, severity, social influence, self-efficacy, experience and habits, PC and privacy behaviors, security behaviors on new services and set demographic characteristics, use places of internet, use of paid products, and experiences of accident as moderate variables to analyze the effect on security behavior. The results showed that perceived severity, self-efficacy significantly influenced on experience and habits, and experience and habits and self-efficacy had a high influence on PC and privacy behavior. Also, PC and privacy behaviors have a high impact on security behavior of new services. Age, income, use of paid products, and experience of accidents have a moderating effects on security behaviors. The results of this study are expected to help policy decision making to improve the level of information security of internet users.

  • This study serves the main research purpose of verifying the hypothetical relationship between antecedent and consequence variables of shopping experience based on the classification system by Schmitt (1999) who dimensionalized experience into five components (sense, feel, think, act, relate). Specifically, the study seeks to fulfill the following three research objectives. First, it substantiates dynamic relationships among the five experiential components comprising the strategic experiential modules that serve as the basis of the theoretical framework of the study. Especially, it focuses on interactive relationships among the experiential components by taking a holistic view of the experience. Second, the study seeks to uncover the effects of pre-experiential antecedents such as shopping motivation and shopping involvement, based on taxonomy of motivation as product-centered vs. experience-centered. Third, the study investigates the effects of shopping experience on intention to revisit with regard to department store, discount store, and Internet shops, based on customers' store experiences. The major findings from this study are as follows: first, the five experiential components were found to have a high level of correlations according to hypothesis verification. Second, shopping motivation was learned to have significant effects on preference toward thinking as well as feeling experiences. That is, product-centered (vs. experience-centered) shopping motivation exerted a greater influence on cognitive (vs. affective experience than affective (vs. cognitive) experience.
