  • 표면영상유속계는 영상분석을 이용하여 홍수시 하천 수표면 유속을 측정하는 비접촉식 유속측정장치이다. 때문에 안전하고 편하게 홍수시 유속을 측정할 수 있으나, 실제 적용상 몇 가지 문제가 있다. 하나는 야간과 악천후에는 영상 촬영이 어렵다는 점이고, 다른 하나는 영상과 실세계와의 좌표변환을 위한 참조점 측량이 반드시 필요하다는 점이다. 본 연구에서는 열영상 카메라를 이용하여 첫 번째 문제를 해결하고, 방향센서(경사계)를 이용하여 두 번째 문제를 해결하여, 언제든지 유속측정이 가능한 실시간 표면영상유속계를 개발하였다. 열영상카메라는 별도의 조명장치없이도 주야간 영상 촬영이 가능하다. 또한 안개의 영향을 받지 않으며, 저유속시 생기는 수면파의 움직임도 잡아낼 수 있는 장점이 있다. 또한, 방향센서를 이용하여 참조점을 이용하지 않고, 좌표변환 관계를 구성할 수 있도록 카메라 모형(camera model)을 구성하였다. 이 카메라 모형에 필요한 외부 변수는 하천수표면과 카메라와의 높이 및 카메라의 두 가지 경사각뿐이다. 여기에 일반적인 카메라 보정에 이용하는 방법으로 구한 카메라 내부 변수를 결합하면 된다. 이렇게 개발한 열영상 표면영상유속계는 실험 수로와 하천 현장에 적용한 결과, 종전보다 훨씬 적용이 간편하며, 매우 높은 정확도로 유속을 측정할 수 있었다.

  • SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar) 영상은 경사촬영을 수행하므로 지형의 기복에 따른 영향을 많이 받는다. 따라서 SAR영상을 이용하여 여러 가지 정보들을 추출하여 이용하기 위해서는 전처리 과정으로서 지형의 기복에 따른 여러 가지 왜곡들을 보정해야 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 RADARSAT SAR 영상을 이용하여 궤도모델링, 정사보정을 수행하고 역산란계수, 국부입사각 계산 등을 통해 지형기복에 따른 방사왜곡보정을 수행하였다.

Landslide Prediction with Angle of Repose Prediction Using 3D Spatial Coordinate System and Drone Image Detection (3차원 공간 좌표 시스템과 드론 영상 검출을 활용한 산사태 안식각 예측에 관한 연구)

  • Forest fires are representative natural disasters resulting from dramatic global climate change in these modern times. When forest formation is insufficient due to forest damage caused by fire, secondary damages such as landslides occur during the winter thawing period and heavy rains. In most countries, only a limited area is managed as CCTV-centered monitoring systems for forest management. For the landslide prediction, markers containing 3D spatial coordinates were located on the slopes of the danger areas in advance. Then 3D mapping and angle of repose were obtained by periodic drone imaging. The recognition range and angle of view of markers were defined, and a new method for predicting signs of landslides in advance was presented in this study.

  • The accurate measurement of the femoral anteversion is very important to the practice of orthopedic and osteotomy. It is measured by means of the axis of head and neck of the femur and the knee axis. At the present time, widely used computed tomography method of measuring anteversion on femoral necks of patients. Measurement by the manual method and image viewer of computed tomography to determine the anteversion of femoral head were carried out on both femurs. In September and October 2002, 5 patients 28 to 36 years of age were randomly selected from Seoul National University Hospital. The purpose of this paper was to introduce a new method to measure femoral anteversion angle utilizing PACS image viewer program in the MR imaging. Significant difference was observed between the right and left side the image viewer measurement of femoral anteversion. In conclusion, MR imaging very usefulness in the measured the angle of the femoral anteversion.

  • 1차 년도 G-7 개발 과제로 수행된 자기 공명 진단 장치 (Magnetic Resonance Imaging System)의 개발 내용을 간략히 소개하였다. 성공적인 IT Compact 자기 공명 진단 장치의 완성을 위해 일차적으로 (1)RF (고주파), Gradient(경사 자계), Spectrometer 등의 Hard-ware 관련 MRI 핵심부분, (2) RF, Gradient, Spectrometer, Magnet 등의 각 Sub-system을 연결, 조합, 조정하여 하나의 체계적인 시스템으로 통합하고 운영하는 과정(System Integration), (3)사용자와 시스템을 연결하는 User Interface, Data Base Management, Real time 운영 SW 등과 (4)임상에 적용하여 구체적인 성능과 효용성을 확인하는 기술 등에 대하여 집중 연구하였다. 개발 방법은 (1)지난 16년간 국내에 축적 된 연구 개발 인력들을 최대한 활용하고 (2)연구 개발을 국제화 시켜 필요한 경우 부분별로 개발 인력을 해외에서 보완하고 (3)소수 정예 전문 인력 주의와 요소 기술 또는 중요 부품을 경쟁성 검토 후 필요 시 Out-sourcing 활용으로 최저의 비용으로 개발 기간을 최소화 하는 데 두었다. 개발된 1.0Tesla자기 공명 영상 장치는 미국 물리 학회에서 규격화한 Phantom및 임상 적용을 통하여 서울대 의대 연구 팀과 지속적으로 성능을 평가해 왔다. 개발된 시스템의 해상도는 $256{\times}256$ head 영상에서 1mm 이 하의 해상도를 가짐을 resolution phantom 을 통하여 확인할 수 있었고, $512{\times}512$ 영상에서 는 약 0.5 mm 의 물체를 분리 해냄으로써 외제 시스템들 보다 우수하게 평가 되었다. 차폐 경사코일의 Eddy current영향은2%이내로 촬영 시 영향은 거의 무시할 수 있었다. 또한, 개발된 영상 기법들, 즉 Multislice/Multi Echo, Oblique angle imaging, 64 Echo train을 갖는 고속 촬영 기술들이 자기 공명 장치에 장착되어 임상 적용에 문제가 없도록 하였다. 또한 20mT/m/Amp의 강력한 능동 차폐 경사 자계 코일(Active Shield Gradient Coil)을 기본 사양으로 하고, 수신단을 최대 6개로 확장토록 하여 2차년도의 초고속 촬영 기법(EPI) 및 Phased Array 코일 촬영이 가능토록 하였다. 1차 년도 개발 과제 수행 결과와 향후 개발 과제를 바탕으로 최종 목표인 국제 경쟁력이 있는 자기 공명 진단 장치 즉 기능과 영상의 질은 선진국 제품과 동일하거나 우수하되, 저가격을 구현한 상용화 제품이 완성되어, 첨단 의료기기로서 산업 구조 고도화에 기여하고 수입대체 뿐만 아니 라 수출을 통한 국익 창출과 국가의 기술을 통한 위상 제고에 기여되길 기대한다.

  • The Fourier transform arteriography (FTA) exploits the periodic variation of arterial flow velociety of arterial flow velocity in stnchronized with cardiac cycles. This technique is intrinsically unique compared to other modern techniques. This technique separates the arteries from the veins using the pulsatile arterial flow without using the presaturation RF pulses. Therefore, it has less RF deposition and is free from the dark band artifacts that can arise from retrograde flow and curved arteries. Furthermore, it is free from the artifacts induced by eddy currents. However, there are some drawbacks such as a single projection view and the saturation of arteries at the end of an imaging slab. These drawbacks are circumvented by applying recently developed techniques. The fast gradient switching capability of modern MRI systems enabled us to incorporate dual projection views into the conventional FTA sequence without increasing the repetition time. In addition, signals from the distal arteries were enhanced by use of a ramped RF pulse and therefore the distal arteries were less saturated. By use of the FTA sequence with dual projection views and the ramped RF pulse, we acquired the sagittal and coronal projection views of femoral arteriograms simultaneously with more enhanced signals of distal arteries than the conventional FTA.

Changes in height and inclination of the articular eminence during the growth period (성장기에서 관절융기 높이 및 경사의 연령적 변화)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess the changes in height and inclination of the articular eminence during the growth period. Methods: One hundred and sixty subjects (71 males and 89 females) with a normal skeletal pattern and TMJ function, ranging in age from 5.9 to 19.7 years were divided according to their chronological age into six groups. Lateral individualized corrected TMJ tomograms were taken of all subjects, and the height and inclination of the articular eminence were measured. UNIANOVA was used to compare the differences between the age groups. Mann-Whitney test was used to compare the differences between male and female subjects. Results: The height and the inclination of the articular eminence were increased and became steeper with age, and the height and the inclination were larger in male than in female subjects. Conclusions: Dynamic changes in the height and the inclination of the articular eminence were observed during the growth period, therefore a full understanding of the growth of the articular eminence is important for orthodontic and orthopedic treatment in this period.

Evaluation of the Space Scattered Dose According to the Position of the Radiation Workers in Mammography Room (유방촬영 시 방사선관계종사자의 위치에 따른 공간선량평가)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the dose of the space to the controller located within the mammography room conducted a research on ways to the reduction exposure to the radiation workers. Results, the dose of 6.18 mGy/year was measured when there is no difference in the hilar area of the controller position, the dose of 2.35E-11 mGy/year was measured when installing the Shielding door. In addition, when the direction of the X-ray tube anode be heading this direction controller, low average level measured was 0.30 mGy/year. Based on this study, the mammography should be considered when installing the anode and cathod directions. And, by installing the shielding door, it must be able to completely separate shooting space and control room. This is the best way radiation protection method in radiation workers.

Change in tooth length and angulation on panoramic radiographs taken at different labiolingual and buccolingual inclinations (치아의 순(협)설 경사도 변화에 따라 파노라마 방사선 사진에 나타난 치아 길이 및 각도 변화)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine how the mesio-distal angulation and the length of each tooth changes on panoramic radiograph at different bucco-lingual inclinations. Methods: After constructing an acrylic model based on the mean arch of 30 adults with normal occlusion, the wire was placed in the center of the teeth on the acrylic model. First, the wire was implanted in normal angulation and inclination and a panoramic radiograph taken. After changing the inclination from $I-5^{\circ}\;to\;I+15^{\circ}\;by\;5^{\circ}$, a panoramic radiograph was taken again and the mesio-distal angle and wire length on the panoramic radiograph were assessed. Results: When the wire was implanted at the normal angulation and inclination, the length measured in the panoramic radiograph was magnified $111{\sim}117%$ from the original length in the anterior region and $121{\sim}125%$ in the posterior region. Only the central and lateral incisors showed significant length differences when the inclination was changed from $l-15^{\circ}\;to\;I+15^{\circ}$ at fixed angulation. When the inclination was changed from $l-15^{\circ}\;to\;I+15^{\circ}$, the angulation of most teeth on panoramic radiograph appeared to be more disto-angulated than in reality, and the lateral incisor and canine showed the largest difference. Only $l-15^{\circ}\;to\;I+15^{\circ}$ groups of premolars and $I+15^{\circ}$ group of molars showed more mesio-angulation than in reality. As the labio(bucco)lingual inclination of all teeth were decreased, tooth angulation in the panoramic radiograph appeared to be more disto-angulated. Conclusion: The labio-liugual inclination of teeth should be considered because it affects panoramic image of teeth, such as length of incisors and angulation of other teeth.

Study on Applicability of Stereophotogrammetry to Rock Joint Survey (입체사진측량기법의 암반절리조사에 대한 적용성 연구)

  • Stereophotogrammetry is a method to extract information of an interested area by constructing a stereo-image from two or more photos. In this study, the stereophotogrammetry was adopted to obtain the joint orientation and trace length from a sampling window and its measurements were compared with the result by a clinocompass and measuring tape to evaluate the applicability of the stereophotogrammetry to rock joint survey. A commercial stereophotogrammetry program, ShapeMetriX 3D, was used for this purpose. Firstly, the accuracy of the measuring method using ShpaeMetrix 3D was evaluated by a model test. Secondly, joint orientations on a rock slope and tunnel were obtained by using ShapeMetriX 3D and compared with the measurement by a clinocompass. Finally. the effect of base-depth ratio in photographing was evaluated by comparing images with various base-depth ratios, and the usefulness of closed-up photographing on a rock exposure to increase the measurement accuracy was tested. The dip and dip direction of each model plane obtained by ShapeMetriX 3D showed an error ranged between $-5^{\circ}\;and\; 5^{\circ}$ on the basis of the results by the measuring tape. Base-depth ratio proved not to influence the analysis result by ShapeMetriX 3D if all the images were taken without any hidden area. The close-up photographing turned out useful to obtain the detailed images and therefore precise result when ShapeMetriX 3D was adopted.
