Experimental Investigation of Seepage Properties on Weathered Residual Soils (풍화토의 침투 특성에 대한 실험적 고찰)

  • To evaluate the characteristics of permeability in weathered residual soil, flexible wall permeameter tests are performed using undisturbed samples. The Influence of hydraulic gradient and confining pressure on the permeability of weathered residual soil is analyzed. To compare the characteristics of permeability between weathered soil and sand, similar tests are performed using Jumoonjin sand. Also, piping model tests are performed to investigate the piping resistance of weathered residual soil. As a result, weathered residual soil shows very dependable permeability on hydraulic gradient and very large resisting ability against piping compared with sand.

  • 본 연구에서는 제방에 대한 부정류 침투해석시 사용되는 설계홍수파형을 결정하기 위하여 수위자료가 양호한 낙동강 수계 수위관측소 지점의 홍수자료를 수집하고 그 지검에 해당하는 계획홍수량 및 계획홍수위를 조사하였다. 설계홍수파형 결정 방법은 일본의 하천제방설계지침(2000)에서 제시하고 있는 방법을 참고하였으며, 그 적용성을 검토하기 위해서 낙동강의 9개 수위관측소 지점의 과거 홍수사상과 계획홍수량 산정시 사용되었던 설계수문곡선을 이용하여 합성홍수파형을 시험적으로 결정했다. 비교분석하여 침투해석을 위한 설계홍수파형을 결정 방법에 적용한다. 제방의 비정상 침투해석을 위한 설계홍수파형은 홍수지속시간과 감수부경사로 결정할 수 있는데, 홍수지속시간은 합성홍수파의 홍수지속시간이 계획홍수파의 지속시간보다 크게 산정되었는데, 이는 설계시 계획홍수파의 지속시간에 어느 정도 안전율을 적용해야 함을 의미한다. 감수부 경사는 분석된 과거 홍수사상중에는 계획홍수파의 감수부 경사보다 급하게 감소하는 것은 거의 없는 것으로 나타났는데, 감수부 경사는 계획홍수량 산정시 사용했던 수문곡선을 사용하는 것이 안전측 설계가 될 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구는 최근 누수에 의한 제방붕괴가 발생한 바 있는 낙동강 유역에 대해서 시험적으로 적용해 보았으며 그 방법론에 대한 타당성을 확인했다.

Prediction of SEE Rates for MPC860 Based on Proton Irradiation Test (양성자 조사 시험에 기초한 MPC860 소자의 SEE 발생률 예측)

  • A prediction of SEE rates for a candidate microprocessor is made based on the ground experiment results with a proton accelerator. Populations of charged particles in space are estimated with numerical models such as AP8, JPL91 and CREME. The cross section curves that are previously obtained with the accelerator are then employed for SEE prediction. Both the high and low inclinations are considered for low-earth orbits with nominal altitudes of about 685km. The results show that the occurrence rate of SEEs for the candidate device is acceptable for low-inclinations, but can be considerable under worst conditions for high inclinations.

  • 최근의 차량 연비는 고가의 연료 가격과 환경 규제 등으로 인하여 중요한 문제로 대두되었다. 전기, 전자, 반도체, 기계 등의 기술 발달은 연비 개선에 많은 공헌을 하였다. 그러나 연비 측정은 현재도 주어진 모드(LA-4, FTP-75 등)에서 컴퓨터 모의시험 및 다이나모에서 수행한다. 이렇게 측정한 연비는 실제 도로 주행 연비와 차이가 발생하는데, 그 주요 원인중의 하나는 도로의 경사를 고려하지 않았기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 경사가 심한 영동고속도로를 정속 주행하여 연료 소모량을 측정하고 연비를 계산한다. 또한 같은 도로를 경사가 없다고 가정하여 주행한 연비와 비교 분석한다. 이때 두 경우를 비교하여 경사에 의해 소모된 연료량 차이를 계산하고, 이 타이어 구동력과 엔진에서 소모된 연료량과의 관계를 검증한다.

The Stability Evaluation of River Embankment for a Piping Phenomenon (하천제방의 세굴에 대한 안정성 연구)

  • In this reseach, a seepage test is carried out for three kinds of soil using a upward seepage equipment. Reliability about the existing method of pipining investigation were verified making an estimate of the critical velocity, the critical hydraulic gradient, and hydraulic conductivity and so on. Also, sensitive analyses were carried out using Plaxis that is FEM Program about design factors of scour. The height of core had a big infulence on the hydraulic gradient of the embankment's lower part in the result of sensitive anaylsis. Also, second only to the height of core, and the slope of embankment, the width of crest had influence on scour. However, the change of hydraulic gradient in the effluent gateway had a little influence on the crest width of core. Using these results of sensitive analysis on designing, hydraulic gradient in the effluence gateway turned out to be reducing by altering design factors that change of sensitiveness is big, in case of the hydraulic gradient bigger than the standard hydraulic gradient.

Effect of size and slope angle of tooth-shaped asperity on shear fracturing characteristics (삼각형 돌출부의 크기 및 경사각이 전단파괴 형상 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • Most of previous studies have insufficiently investigated the shear behavior and fracturing characteristics, experimentally in respect to the change of size of tooth-shaped surface asperity such as length and slope angle in a broad range. This study investigates the influence of the length and slope angle of a tooth-shaped surface asperity on the fracturing characteristics and the interface shear strength by using direct shear test apparatus. A total of 36 interface direct shear tests were conducted by changing the three types of slope angle of surface asperity, four type of length, and three types of normal stress. The shape of fractured surface after the test was quantified by using a three-dimensional surface roughness measurement apparatus. Through the experimental test results, the characteristics of fractured shape of surface asperity according to the normal stress were investigated. In addition, fractured length and height were quantified at each slope angle of surface asperity under a certain normal stress condition.

Model Test Study on the Reinforcing Effect of Inclined System Bolting (경사볼트의 보강효과에 대한 모형시험 연구)

  • The rockbolt functions as a main support, which restricts enlargement of the plasticity area and increases stability in the original ground around tunnels, and prevents a second deformation of an excavated surface by supplementing vulnerability arising from opening of the excavated surface. System bolting is generally applied if ground conditions are bad. System bolting is generally installed perpendicular to the excavation direction in every span. If a place is narrow, or it is difficult to insert bolts due to construction conditions, it may be connected and used with short bolts, or installed obliquely. In this study, laboratory model tests were performed to analyze the effect of the ground being reinforced by inclined bolts, based on a bending theory that assumes that the reinforced ground is a simple beam. In all test cases, deflections and vertical earth pressures induced by overburden soil pressure were measured. Total of 99 model tests were carried out, by changing the installation angle of bolts, lateral and longitudinal distance of bolts, and soil height. The model test results indicated that when the installation angle of bolts was less than $75^{\circ}$, deflections of model beams tended to increase rapidly. Also, the relaxed load that was calculated by earth pressure was rapidly increased when the installation angle of bolts was less than $75^{\circ}$. However, the optimum installation angle of inclined bolts was judged to be in the range of $90^{\circ}{\sim}75^{\circ}$. Also, as might be expected, the reinforcement effect of bolts was increased when the longitudinal and lateral distance of bolts was decreased.

Long Term Monitoring of Dynamic Characteristics of a Jacket-Type Offshore Structure Using Dynamic Tilt Responses and Tidal Effects on Modal Properties (동적 경사 응답을 이용한 재킷식 해양구조물의 장기 동특성 모니터링 및 조류 영향 분석)

  • Dynamic responses were measured using long-term monitoring system for Uldolmok tidal current pilot power plant which is one of jacket-type offshore structures. Among the dynamic quantities, the tilt angle was chosen because the low frequency response components can be precisely measured by dynamic tiltmeter, and the natural frequencies and modal damping ratio were successfully identified using proposed LS-FDD (least squared frequency domain decomposition) method. And the effects of tidal height and tidal current velocity on the variation of natural frequencies and modal damping ratios were investigated in time and frequency domain. Also the non-parametric models were tested to model the relationship between tidal conditions and modal properties such as natural frequencies and damping ratios.

다목적실용위성 3호 초기 궤도조정 결과 분석

  • 다목적실용위성 3호는 2012년 5월 발사되어, 위성 기능점검을 위한 시험을 성공적으로 완료하였다. 위성이 발사체로부터 분리된 이후 임무궤도(고도 685km, 승교점 지방시 13시 30분을 갖는 태양동기궤도)를 획득하기 위해서는 궤도조정이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 다목적실용위성 3호의 초기운영 기간 동안 수행한 총 10번의 궤도조정 계획 및 결과에 대해 기술하였다. 궤도조정 1 단계에서는 궤도조정 절차 및 기능을 점검하기 위해 6번의 시험 궤도조정을 순차적으로 수행하였고 이후 2 단계에서는 임무궤도 진입을 위해 4번의 궤도조정을 실시하였다. 궤도조정을 위해서는 원하는 추력분사 방향을 맞추기 위해 롤 방향 또는 피치 방향의 자세제어가 필요한데, 추력기를 사용하여 자세를 기동하는 모드(Del-V Mode)와 휠을 사용하여 자세를 기동하는 모드(Fine Del-V Mode)로 구분된다. 시험 궤도조정에서는 우선적으로 두 가지 모드에 대한 모드전환 시험을 실시하여 위성체 및 지상국 운영절차에 대한 이상 유무를 점검하였고, 이후 추력기 분사량을 10초로 설정하여 예측 대비 실제 궤도변경 결과값을 확인하였다. 시험 궤도조정의 결과를 토대로 본 궤도조정에서는 임무궤도를 획득하기 위한 경사각 조정 및 고도 조정을 수행하였다. 경사각 조정 시에는 승교점 지방시의 변화량을 줄이고, 이후 자연 교란력에 의한 궤도변화를 고려하여 목표궤도를 계획하였다. 또한, 고도 조정 단계에서는 연료 사용량 및 이심률 변화를 최소화 할 수 있도록 전형적인 호만 궤도천이 방식을 적용하였다. 궤도조정 결과 당초 목표한 값을 정확하게 달성하였고, 궤도조정 이후 궤도변화도 장기간 동안 임무궤도 범위를 유지함을 확인할 수 있었다.

Synthesis of the material releasing thermal stress by designing FGM (경사기능층의 디자인에 의한 열응력분산재료 합성에 관한 연구)

  • Monolithic SiC and SiC/C functionally gradient material (FGM) layers were deposited on graphite substrates by CVD method. Temperature a profiles and thermal stress distributions in the deposited layers under the thermal shock were calculated by a commercially available software package. The designed FGM specimens were found to show an efficient relaxation of thermal stresses at the interfaces, and the specimens were intact even under a thermal shock of $\Delta$T=1600 K.
