Computer-Assisted Map Analysis for Planning Forest Road Network (컴퓨터 지도분석(地圖分析)을 이용(利用)한 임도계획(林道計劃))

  • Route projection of forest road involves several constraints ranging from construction cost to environmental impacts. This study is designed to assess the capability of computer-assisted map analysis techniques for deriving several alternatives of forest road planning. Three cartographic models are presented to address the limit of slope, soil erosion, and aesthetic value in designing forest roads over a relatively small size of mountainous forest. Primary spatial analysis techniques used are distance measurements and connectivity analysis. The fundamental approach used was to generate a set of friction maps in which each friction map represents a combined restriction for a forest road projection. Products of the spatial analysis are compared by both qualitative and quantitative methods. The results demonstrate that computer-assisted map analysis has a potential to solve rather complex problems of forest road planning by providing several alternatives effectively.

Dynamic Response Characteristics of Embankment Model for Various Slope Angles (다양한 경사를 가지는 제방모형의 지반 증폭 특성)

  • In this study, the dynamic response characteristics of the embankment model were analyzed using shaking table experiments. Laminar shear box was used to minimize the boundary effect of the model. The ratio of the vertical length to horizontal length of the slopes were 1:1, 1:1.5, and 1:2. The sensor array which is consist of 12 accelerometers was used to measure acceleration time-histories at each location of the slope model. The dynamic response characteristics of the models were analyzed for sine wave, sinesweep wave, and artificial earthquake wave in this study. The experimental results show that the dynamic response of the embankment model is increased with the slope angle. Furthermore, the experimental setup used in this study was verified with the comparative analysis between experimental results and 1-D analytical simulation on the flat ground model.

  • 이 논문에서는 울돌목 시험조류발전소에 구축 중인 구조건전성 감시시스템의 계획, 설치 및 활용에 대하여 소개하였다. 현재 시험조류발전소에 설치된 센서로는 전기저항식 변형률계, 광섬유 FBG(Fiber Bragg Grating) 센서, 압전형 MFC(Macro Fiber Composite) 센서, 2축 경사계, 서보형 가속도계 등과 같은 지지구조물의 구조거동을 감시하기 위한 센서와 토크 센서, RPM 센서 등 발전 계통에 대한 감시를 위한 센서, 그리고 H-ADCP(Horizontal Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler)와 같은 외력조건에 대한 계측 장비 등이 있다. 센서 설치 후 현재까지 부분적으로 계측된 자료를 소개하고, 향후 건전성 감시시스템 개선 계획을 소개하였다.

Step Length Estimation on a Slope Using Accelerometers and a Barometer (가속도계와 기압계를 이용한 경사면에서의 보행 거리 추정)

  • Using a relationship between step length and accelerometer output, step length can be estimated. In this paper, we propose a new step length estimation algorithm, which can be used both for the plane and the slope by compensating the slope angle. The slope angle is estimated using a barometer and the slope angle is compensated by observing how the slope affects the step length estimation. The proposed algorithm is verified using five adult man walking data, where the average length error is about 3% regardless of the slope.

  • 본 연구에서는 한강 상 교량인 올림픽대교를 대상으로 첨단 무선센서를 구조물 주요 부재에 설치하고 본 센서를 통해 취득되는 데이터를 활용하여 실시간 구조 건전도 모니터링 시스템을 구축하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본 시스템은 유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크(USN, Ubiquitous Sensor Network)기술을 적용하여 림픽대교 주요 구조 부재 모니터링을 위한 센서 및 데이터 로깅 시스템으로 구성되어 운영된다. 본 연구에서는 1축 가속도계, 3축가속도계, 온도계, 경사계, 풍향풍속계 5종의 무선 센서를 총 10개 설치하였으며, 센서의 전원은 태양광 자가 전원공급 시스템으로 하였다. 데이터는 시스템 구축완료 후 9월1일부터 9월 7일까지의 일주일간의 데이터를 활용하여, 기존에 설치되어 있던 유선시스템으로부터 취득된 데이터와 비교분석하였으며, 이를 통행 USN 기반의 교량 계측시스템에 대한 실용성을 검증하였다.

  • The behavior of spray emanating from an injector to be employed in a liquid-propellant thrust chamber is investigated by optical measurement techniques. The injector has eight holes, each of which has 30 cant angle from the center-axis with the diameter of 0.406 mm. In order to examine an atomization process according to the spray-generation conditions and the evolution along spray downstream, variational features in the velocity and size of droplets obtained through Dual-mode Phase Doppler An 799emometry (DPDA) are delineated and discussed together with instantaneous plane images captured by using Nd:Yag laser sheet beam. A categorization of spray-flow regime representing the atomization and turbulent nature is made through evaluating the non-dimensional parameters, i.e., Reynolds number and Weber number based upon the theoretical injection velocity. These qualitative and quantitative data of spray breakup will be a firm basis for the design of brand-new thruster

  • 액상화되기 쉬운 모래지반 위에 축조된 제방의 지진시 거동을 조사하고 액상화 경감을 위한 대책공법의 효과를 비교하기 위하여 12가지 경우에 대해 진돈대 시험을 수행하였다. 본 시험에는 널말뚝, 자갈배수재, 모래다짐 말뚝과 강관말뚝 등의 대책공법이 적용되었다. 진동대 시험에 사용된 투명토조의 길이는 194cm이고 폭은 44cm 그리고 높이는 60cm이다. 기초지반은 포화된 모래이며 수중침강법을 적용하여 상대밀도 약 30%로 조성되었다. 이 포화된 느슨한 모래지만 위에 15cm 높이의 제방이 경사 1:1.5로 축조되었다. 진동대 시험시 제방과 기초지반의 거동을 측정하기 위해서 간극수압계 12개, 가속도계 4개 및 LVDT 2개가 시험모델에 설치되었다. 진동대의 크기는 2m$\times$2m이며, 진동시의 입력가속도는 0.1g에서 시작하여 최고 0.4g까지 증가시켰다. 본 모델에 적용된 공법 모두가 일반적인 진동법위에서 액상화 발생을 억제시키는데 유용한 것으로 증명이 되었으며, 그 중에서 모래다짐말뚝이 액상화로 인한 피해를 감소시키는데 가장 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 또한 각각의 대책공법에 대한 최적 배치안의 본 연구에서 제시되었다.

Analysis of Characteristics of Body Vibrations for Korean High Speed Train (한국형 고속전철의 차체 진동특성 분석)

  • The prototype of Korean high speed train(KHST), composed of two power cars, two motorized cais and three trailer cars, has been designed, fabricated and tested. In this paper. the body vibration has been reviewed from the viewpoint of the vehicle's safety, the ride comfort and the vibration limits for components and sub-assemblies mounted on the car-body using by analytical method and experimental method. The on-line test of KHST has been tarried out up to 260 ㎞/h in the KTX line and the results of the on-line test show that KHST has no problems in the vehicle's safety. the comfort ride and the vibration limits at this speed. And the characteristics of body vibrations has been Predicted at 300 ㎞/h and 350 ㎞/h by fitting curve about the measured acceleration signals.

Deformation Characteristics of a Slope at a Coal Waste Depot through Analysis of Monitoring Results (계측결과 분석을 통한 석탄폐석 적치장 사면의 변형 특성)

  • Deformation of a slope at a coal waste depot and the natural slope under the depot was surveyed and investigated at Dogye village in Samcheock city, Gangwon Province. To investigate the behaviors of the slopes, wire sensors and a rain gauge were installed on the crest of the waste depot slope and inclinometers were installed in the natural slope. The results of deformation monitoring at the crest of the waste depot slope using wire sensors revealed increased deformation with increasing cumulative rainfall. The results of monitoring horizontal deformation of the natural slope revealed that maximum horizontal deformation was also affected by cumulative precipitation. However, the groundwater level at the natural slope showed no change with rainfall. These measurements confirm that deformation at coal mine waste depots is closely related to precipitation, indicating that self-loading at such depots increases with rainfall infiltration, thus causing deformation of the waste depot slope. In addition, increasing the self-load of the coal mine waste depot may cause deformation of the underlying natural slope.

  • We present an implementation result of a computer GUI-based simulator using MATLAB to verify the performance of interferometric radar altimeter(IRA) which is possible to measure the slant range altitude and the cross-track angle to the nearest point for terrain aided navigation(TAN). After a brief description of the principle of TAN and IRA, we present that the grids are divided for the modeling of the reflected signal in digital elevation map(DEM) and so the radar cross section(RCS) of each grid is calculated and the signal-noise ratio(SNR) of the reflected signal in the radar beam width. And the signal processing procedures of the IRA and the structure of the IRA simulator are shown.
