Analysis of Time Reversal Transmission Performance for Underwater Communications (시역전 수중 디지털 통신 성능 분석)

  • The time reversal mirror (TRM) method for underwater communications has been developed to improve transmission performance with low complexity. However, digital communication parameters for TRM have not been researched deeply. This paper demonstrates that the TRM scheme obtains spatial diversity gain similar to multiple antennas, and proposes design methodologies of symbol interval, frame duration and transmission protocol for time reversal mirror transmission. Simulation results show that spatial diversity gain is achieved and the effect of ISI decreases as the number of transducer increases.

On Utilization of Inactive Storage in Dam during Drought Period (가뭄 극복을 위한 댐의 비활용용량 활용 방안 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a structure plan for improving the utilization of inactive storage in the dam for overcoming the drought. Inactive storage in the dam is composed of the emergency storage and dead storage. The emergency storage can be used for the case of emergency such as drought. But, in general, the dead storage for sedimentation is not used even for the emergency. Therefore, this study considers the part of dead storage that the sedimentation is not progressed yet can be used during the severe drought period and is called "drought storage in a dam". The accurate Sediment Level(SL) analysis for the computation of the drought storage should be performed and so the present and future SL in the dam reservoir is estimated using SED-2D linked with RMA-2 model of SMS. After the consideration of additionally available storage capacity based on the estimated SL, the drought storage is finally determined. Present data based on historical data, future predicted future climate factors by Representative Concentrarion Pathways(RCP) 8.5 scenario. Then, using the TANK model, dam inflows were determined, and future period such as SL and drought storage were suggested. As the results, we have found that the available drought storage will be reduced in the future when we compare the present drought storage with the future one. This is due to a increase variability of climate change. Therefore, we should take the necessary study for the increase of available drought storage in the future.

Density Estimation Technique for Effective Representation of Light In-scattering (빛의 내부산란의 효과적인 표현을 위한 밀도 추정기법)

  • In order to visualize participating media in 3D space, they usually calculate the incoming radiance by subdividing the ray path into small subintervals, and accumulating their respective light energy due to direct illumination, scattering, absorption, and emission. Among these light phenomena, scattering behaves in very complicated manner in 3D space, often requiring a great deal of simulation efforts. To effectively simulate the light scattering effect, several approximation techniques have been proposed. Volume photon mapping takes a simple approach where the light scattering phenomenon is represented in volume photon map through a stochastic simulation, and the stored information is explored in the rendering stage. While effective, this method has a problem that the number of necessary photons increases very fast when a higher variance reduction is needed. In an attempt to resolve such problem, we propose a different approach for rendering particle-based volume data where kernel smoothing, one of several density estimation methods, is explored to represent and reconstruct the light in-scattering effect. The effectiveness of the presented technique is demonstrated with several examples of volume data.

A Fusion Algorithm considering Error Characteristics of the Multi-Sensor (다중센서 오차특성을 고려한 융합 알고리즘)

  • Various location tracking sensors; such as GPS, INS, radar, and optical equipment; are used for tracking moving targets. In order to effectively track moving targets, it is necessary to develop an effective fusion method for these heterogeneous devices. There have been studies in which the estimated values of each sensors were regarded as different models and fused together, considering the different error characteristics of the sensors for the improvement of tracking performance using heterogeneous multi-sensor. However, the rate of errors for the estimated values of other sensors has increased, in that there has been a sharp increase in sensor errors and the attempts to change the estimated sensor values for the Sensor Probability could not be applied in real time. In this study, the Sensor Probability is obtained by comparing the RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) for the difference between the updated and measured values of the Kalman filter for each sensor. The process of substituting the new combined values for the Kalman filter input values for each sensor is excluded. There are improvements in both the real-time application of estimated sensor values, and the tracking performance for the areas in which the sensor performance has rapidly decreased. The proposed algorithm adds the error characteristic of each sensor as a conditional probability value, and ensures greater accuracy by performing the track fusion with the sensors with the most reliable performance. The trajectory of a UAV is generated in an experiment and a performance analysis is conducted with other fusion algorithms.

Identification of vulnerable region susceptible to soil losses by using the relationship between local slope and drainage area in Choyang creek basin, Yanbian China (중국 연변 조양하 유역의 국부경사와 배수면적의 관계를 이용한 토사유실 우심지역 추출)

  • The main purpose of this study is to suggest a methodology for identifying vulnerable region in Choyang creek basin susceptible to soil losses based on runoff aggregation structure and energy expenditure pattern of natural river basin within the framework of power law distribution. To this end geomorphologic factors of every point in the basin of interest are extracted by using GIS, which define tractive force and stream power as well as drainage area, and then their complementary cumulative distributions are graphically analyzed through fitting them to power law distribution to identify the sensitive points within the basin susceptible to soil losses with respect to scaling regimes of tractive force and stream power. It is observed that the range of vulnerable region by scaling regime of tractive force is much narrower than by scaling regime of stream power. This result seems to be due to the tractive force is a kind of scale dependent factor which does not follow power law distribution and does not adequately reflect energy expenditure pattern of river basins. Therefore, stream power is preferred to be a more reasonable factor for the evaluation of soil losses. The methodology proposed in this study can be validated by visualizing the path of soil losses, which is generated from hill-slope process characterized by local slope, to the valley through fluvial process characterized by drainage area as well as local slope.

Development of a Program That Computes the Position of the Instantaneous Center of Rotation on the Basis of Experimental Data(I) (실험 데이터를 이용한 회전운동 순간 중심점 분석 프로그램 개발(I))

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a program that computes the position of the instantaneous center of rotation while an object moves in a circular motion. For this study, a mathematical algorithm was developed and implemented on the experimental data. Data for pitching (40m carry) and putting (4m) strokes were obtained from a skilled female golfer. A computer program (Centering 1.0) calculated the experimental data and found the radius of the instantaneous center of rotation. When the data were taken broadly, the program produced an error distance of radius. When the data were divided gradually, the program produced a very close instantaneous center of rotation. On comparing pitching and putting strokes, putting was found to have a greater radius than pitching. The instantaneous centers of rotation of putting were not in the golfer's body rather, they were 3m away from the club head. The Centering 1.0 program can calculate the instantaneous center of rotation with at least three sets of experimental data.

Frame Synchronization Algorithm based on Differential Correlation for Burst OFDM System (Burst OFDM 시스템을 위한 차동 상관 기반의 프레임 동기 알고리즘)

  • In burst OFDM system, the frame synchronization should be performed first for the acquisition of received frame and the estimation of the correct FFT-window position. The conventional frame synchronization algorithms using design features of the preamble symbol, the repetition pattern of the OFDM symbol by pilot sub-carrier allocation rule and Cyclic Prefix(CP), has difficulty in the detection of precise frame timing because its correlation characteristics would increase and decrease gradually. Also, the algorithm based on the correlation between the reference signal and the received signal has performance degradation due to frequency offset. Therefore, we adopt a differential correlation method that is robust to frequency offset and has the clear peak value at the correct frame timing for frame synchronization. However, performance improvement is essential for differential correlation methods, since it usually shows multiple peak values due to the repetition pattern. In this paper, we propose an enhanced frame synchronization algorithm based on the differential correlation method that shows a clear single peak value by using differential correlation between samples of identical repeating pattern. We also introduce a normalization scheme which normalizes the result of differential correlation with signal power to reduce the frame timing error in the high speed mobile channel environments.

  • 본 연구에서는 기존의 대중교통 통행배정모형이 고려하지 않거나 미흡하게 반영하였던 차량과 노선의 용량제약을 고려한 모형의 구축을 시도하였다. 일반적으로 대중교통 통행배정에서 수요와 공급의 관계는 수요가 증가하는 것과 무관하다고 받아들여지고 있으나 용량 초과는 통행자들의 경로선택 및 수단선택에 영향을 끼친다고 볼 수 있다. 이러한 용량초과에 의한 혼잡을 반영하기 위해 용량제약식을 포함한 모형을 개발하고 실용운행회수라는 개념을 도입하였다. 또한 기존에 제시된 용량제약을 고려한 모형들이 실제적인 현상을 정확히 모사하는 데에는 한계가 있을 뿐 만 아니라 현실과 다소 거리가 있는 가정이 내재되어 있는 반면 본 연구에서는 가능한 한 최대로 현실 여건을 반영하는 모형을 정립하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 모형은 동일한 기종점 사이를 운행하는 경쟁노선이 많은 대도시에서 통근·통학을 위한 통행자들이 많은 오전, 오후 첨두시 대중교통 수요를 분석하여 대중교통의 운행관리체계 개선 및 투자계획, 서비스 개선을 위한 수요예측을 하는데 유용하게 사용할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. 그리고 기존의 대중교통 통행배정의 결과가 현재나 장래의 잠재적인 수요(demand)를 예측하는 방법인데 반하여 본 연구에서 정립된 모형은 주어진 네트워크에서 실제로 통행하고 있는 수요(flow)를 예측함으로써 교통 계획가나 대중교통 운영자의 계획 및 운영정책수립에 합리적인 도움을 줄 수 있다. 또한 현재의 대중교통 시스템 하에서의 통행배정 뿐만 아니라 다른 형태의 용량과 운행특성을 가진 교통 수단이나 노선이 도입되었을 때 공급이 제한적인 경우의 수요 예측에 적합한 모형을 개발하였다.에 대한 규제가 초국가적 차원으로 발전되는 계기를 제공하고 있다. 향후, 담배규제협약안의 세부사안들에 대한 합의과정에서 각 국별로 상당한 이견과 반발이 예상되고 있지만, 협약안의 전체 회원국 투표에서 승인될 경우 각 국가들뿐만 아니라 담배산업과 담배기업들에게 미치는 파급효과가 매우 클 것으로 예상된다. 대부분의 국제협약들이 그러하듯이, 담배규제협약도 그 적용 범위와 수준이 어느 정도로 결정되는지에 따라 각 국가와 기업별 이해관계가 크게 달라지게 되기 때문에 신중한 대응전략이 요구된다고 하겠다.의 화물전용차선의 설치시는 수답렬 교통량의 구성비와 구간 평균교통량에 의하여 그 효과가 다르게 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 물류비용 절감차원에서의 화물전용차선의 설치는 본 연구에서 나타낸 방법과 같이 수단간의 경제적 편익을 고려한 구간별 시간대별 효과분석을 통하여 정책의 시행여부가 결정되어야 할 것이다. 한편, 화물전용차선의 설치로 인한 물류비용의 절감을 보다 효과적으로 달성하기 위해서는 종합류류 전산망의 시급한 구축과 함께 화물차의 적재율을 높이고 공차율을 낮출 수 있는 운송체계의 수립이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 그라나 이러한 화물전용차선의 효과는 단기적인 치유책일 수밖에 없기 때문에 물류유통 시설의 확충을 위한 사회간접자본의 구축을 서둘러 시행하여야 할 것이다.으로 처리한 Machine oil, Phenthoate EC 및 Trichlorfon WP는 비교적 약효가 낮았다.>$^{\circ}$E/$\leq$30$^{\circ}$NW 단열군이 연구지역 내에서 지하수 유동성이 가장 높은 단열군

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the visual landscape modelling on Josun royal tombs and surrounding. The visual landscape of traditional heritage is illustrated by the main view points of analysis. This analysis examines limited view points and cannot reflect a reality of environments. Nowadays various equipments and methodologies are developed for the visual landscape research. This study used new tools for analysis which are Sketch up (3D simulation) and mini helicopter (UAV). With those tools, this research examines not only view points of the analysis but also axis views and disincentive environments as a complex analysis. First of all, the research examined 3D modelling for the virtual simulation and drew coordinates and routes for the UAV operating. Secondly, UAV followed this routes and took linear and continuous views that are real scenes. As a result, it drew 3D simulation could illustrate and control the changing of environments such as the forest density and seasonal variations. Thus, comparing both of them shows efficiently landscape analysis. Thirdly, the study compared virtual and real landscape. Using this 3D modelling, this paper able to elaborate heritage environment and surrounding which omitted by view point analysis. Although this study has limitation practice and exercise on the field, the results and suggestions contribute to the various historic heritage managements and conservations. Moreover, it helps to explain the complex and dimensional landscape analysis.

Effects of Spray Times and Ventilation Method on the Seedling Growth of Fruit Vegetables (관수회수 및 송풍처리가 과채류의 묘 생장에 미치는 영향)

  • A multipurpose operating system was developed to adjust both spray times and ventilation method without a configuration of the moving path and the type of the greenhouse. The multipurpose working system proved to be a reliable system for testing the growth quality of the fruit vegetables in the greenhouse. The results are as follows. The first leaf, diameter of a stem, leaf area, and average stem diameter in the Cucumber seedling growth were repressed by high-speed ventilation, but was not repressed by spray times. The first leaf in the Tomato seedling growth was repressed as ventilation velocity was high, but the average stem diameter was not repressed. While the Tomato was given water three times a day, the diameter of a stem and the leaf area were increased as ventilation speed became higher. However, those were different other factors. The Tomato leaf area was larger when given water twice a day than that in hand spray, but showed no difference with ventilation speed. The first leaf, the diameter of a stem and the leaf area of a Red pepper were lower in automatic spraying with ventilation than those in hand spray.
