Recently, alarmed by the frequent international terrorism or safety accidents, the host countries of world sports events are focusing on security activities for the sake of the participants, facilities, events and competitions. They are alarmed because in case any happenings like international terrorism or safety accident, the contest itself can be criticized to be a failure as much as the international reliability of the host nation may well crash. We can see that any failure in coping with terrorism or safety matters can lead to a nation-wise crisis in the case of Indonesia where the October 12th of 2002 terrorist bomb attack in Bali damaged the image of the nation followed by the similar case in Philippine (Oct. 20th, 2002) where the same terrorist attack dramatically scared away the tourists to the nation. Korea is scheduled to hold the World Championship in Athletics in Daegu Metropolitan City in 2011. Also, it is slated to host various world sports events such as Yeosu International Exposition and Incheon Asian Games. In these contexts, this study analyzes counter-terrorism cases related with the recent international sports events that have been organized in a variety of manners in the era of globalization. This study aims to show alternatives for the safety management in these events. In other words, it is focusing on giving directions to the safety policies of the nation -which may become the future hub of north-east Asia and the world - for more perfect guard and defense, and counter-terrorism activities in all the conferences, sports events and international festivals where any private defense and guard companies are allowed to cooperate with the police force or public security agencies.
Over the past 20 years new and small firms have been identified as significant components of economic strategies for job and wealth creation. Implicit in these strategies has been the search for policies which will increase the supply of new firms, and will encourage established firms' growth. Yet the majority firms spend the whole of their economic life within the small firm sector. The aim of this paper is to suggest a multidimensional approach to the understanding of the comparative characteristics of the small firm by providing evidence as to the factors which describe firms of different sizes, regions and industries. And I discuss in the context of policy options for regional economic development in Korea. The results from the analyses are summarized as follows. The size of the small firms in the sample measured in terms of both number of employees and sales revenue are characterized by regions, export performance and R&D. There is also some indication that growing firms may develop more complex environment. These results are based upon a multi-dimensional analysis of the strategic profile of a sample of small firms using KIS. From this observation of the firms during the data collection period, this is a conclusion that I find intuitively appealing.
Microorganisms or their toxins can be transferred to eggs and cause food poisoning in humans. Therefore, this study was conducted to detect microbial contamination of eggs and to identify microorganisms in any contaminated eggs. Four different brands of eggs were collected from hypermarkets in the northern Gyeonggi area. The total bacterial counts on the shells of the eggs varied greatly between brands. In addition, various bacterial species including Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas mendocina, Alcaligenes xylosoxidans, Alcaligenes faecalis, and Enterobacter cloacae were identified on eggshells. Furthermore, mean of total bacterial counts of four brands was $3.4{\times}10^4 cfu/m{\ell}$ and E. coli was detected on the eggshell of one brand egg. However, Salmonella was not identified on all brands of collected eggs. We also demonstrated that the E. coli isolated from the eggshell was not pathogenic based on the absence of pathogen-specific gene expression patterns. Taken together, the result of this study indicate that strict quality control and improved distribution controls are required to decrease microbial contamination and improve human health.

Playground is frequently used for physical and sports activity by students as well as by common people, which is constructed with various cover materials on the ground. This research surveyed the surface temperature in Kyungpook National University Sangju campus playground which is covered with various cover materials [bare field, zoysiagrass (Zoysia japonica) turf field, urethane track, concrete field, epoxy field and artificial turf field] in Sangju, Gyeongsangbukdo, Korea. Temperature was measured 4 times per day at 09:00, 12:00, 15:00, and 18:00 from May to October 2014 in surface and 1 m height above the ground. Surface temperature was different, depending on cover materials and survey time. Bare field and zoysiagrass turf field was lower surface temperature than other sites. Higher surface temperature site was different depending on survey time. Urethane track and artificial turf field was hotter than other sites at 12 and 15 hours, however concrete and epoxy field was hot at 18 hours. One meter above ground temperature was the highest in artificial turf field except at 18 hours. So natural turf, zoysiagrass playground will increase the athletic performance by reduce the surface and above ground temperature.
This study aimed to identify factors that influence the quality of life of 509 community residents in a city in Gyeonggi Province. The study collected data on general characteristics, the incidence of depression, mental health status and quality of life through a structured questionnaire, and the data was analyzed used the SPSS20.0 statistical program. First, quality of life-related to the general characteristics of the research subjects revealed statistically relevant differences regarding gender, age, academic background, marital status, monthly income and stress status. Second, there were relevant differences among detailed factors related to depression and mental health status, overall mental health, social maladjustment and anxiety/depression, and these revealed correlations. Third, the factors that influenced the quality of life were age, stress levels, anxiety/depression of mental health level and the explanation of antecedent variables stood at 47.8%. The result is expected to be the fundamental data to facilitate the application of the program and lead to successful interventions to improve the quality of life of residents.
The purpose of this study was to compare of muscles in clean and jerk techniques between 69kg class(n=3), 58kg class(n=3) in high school female weight lifters using EMG(electromyographic) system. EMG analysis were executed on 6 major muscles and dividing clean and jerk techniques into 6 phases. In that result, in the difference by weight, it was shown that EMG value increased gradually as the weight is raised of all muscles group & phases in 58kg class. In EMG signal scale by classes, it was shown that EMG signal scale didn't increase according to class & weight. In the result of this study, that EMG value was inconsistent in 69kg class is showing that the consideration of the technical factor together with muscle power has positive affect more on the performance improvement in the heavy class.

The purpose of this study was to identify cognitive impairment and it's related factors of the elderly in long term care facilities. The participants of this study were 229 residents of five nursing homes. Data were analyzed using two sample t-test, ${\chi}^2$-test, and logistic regression. The results revealed eight factors related to cognitive impairment: gender(OR=2.41, p=.035), age(75-84: OR=3.26, p=.002, Over 85: OR=4.46, p<.001), living with family before admission(OR=2.17, p=.015), hearing(OR=8.88, p=.004), family history of dementia(OR=4.39, p=.009), ADL(OR=0.82, p<.001), hypertension(OR=4.07, p<.001), and diabetes(OR=3.42, p=.001). Based on the findings of this study, continuous nursing intervention focused on adjustable factors would be helpful in order to improve nursing home elderly people's quality of life.
This paper introduces the HD 3DTV camera and 3DTV receiver that are compatible with the ATSC HDTV broadcasting system. The developed 3DTV camera is based on stereoscopic techniques, and it has control function to control both left and right zoom lens simultaneously and to control the vergence. Moreover, in order to control the vergence manually and to eliminate the synchronization problem of the both images, the 3DTV camera has the 3DTV video multiplexing function to combine the left and right images into the single image. The developed 3DTV signal, and it has the various analog/digital interfaces. The performance of the developed system is confirmed by shooting the selected soccer game in 2002 FIFA KOREA/JAPANTM World Cup and by broadcasting the match. The HD 3DTV camera and receiver will be applied to the 3DTV industries such as 3D movie, 3D game, 3D image processing, 3DTV broadcasting system, and so on.
Even though the foreign currency crisis in 1997 and the introduction of Inflation Targeting(IT) have been considered as key factors for current low inflation, there have been few attempts to explain what is the contribution of the dynamics of wage and price to the low inflation. This study is to analyze the relation between wage and price especially focusing on how it through the economic events using cointegration instability tests. The result shows that the short and long-run relation between two have variables have changed through the period of 1997~1999. In the first subperiod, wage tended to respond immediately to inflation shocks, whereas price responded to wage shocks in a long-run. Moreover, the cointegration coefficient of price was equal to 1. In the second subperiod, however, the dynamics from price to wage has been weakened and the real wage has declined apparently. These findings mean that the workers have failed to raise their wage at the rate of inflation, that is, the so-called wage-price spiral was broken for the second subperiod. The implication of this study is that the relatively weak bargaining power of workers, or the condition of labor market, is one of the primary factors of the current low inflation.

Changes have occurred in the professional capabilities of the construction project managers after the global financial crisis. As representatives of construction companies and projects, construction project managers have full responsibility over a construction project. Throughout its life cycle, from design through construction to completion, the business capabilities of such managers are regarded as critical elements in the changes in the country's construction economy. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the main capabilities of current construction project managers, and to analysis of its competitiveness using Important-Performance Analysis(IPA). The results of IPA were as follows; (1)capability to win new contracts and capability to collect information of new project are needed for external relation competitiveness, (2)gerentocratic management mind-set and active breakthrough are needed for internal project management competitiveness, and (3)capability to predict issues and self-improvement are needed for self discipline competitiveness. However, this work is still considered to provide the basic data that can help Korean construction companies who plan to educate the project manager's strengthen their medium and long-term capabilities.
