Traffic impact assessment plays a crucial role in resolving traffic issues that may arise during the implementation of urban and transportation projects. However, reported results diverge, presumably because the items reviewed differ. In this study, we analyze traffic improvement measures approved for traffic impact assessment, identify key items, and present items that should be included in assessments. Specifically, TF-IDF and N-gram analysis and text mining were performed with focus on urban development projects approved in Gyeonggi Province. The results obtained show that keywords associated with newly established transportation infrastructure, such as roads and intersections, were essential assessment items, followed by the locations of entrances and exits and pedestrian connectivity. We recommend that considerations of the items presented in this study be incorporated into future traffic impact assessment guidelines and standards to improve the consistency and objectivity of the assessment process.

The Korean society has been changed to the aging one. The number of elderly people has been in creasing rapidly. For their social and economic activity, more convenient transport services have to be offered. Specifically, increasing mobility is one of the most urgent policies for them. One action of the policy in Seoul has introduced low floor buses since 2003. This paper shows how low floor buses affect on passengers' boarding and alighting time through the field survey. In the analysis of the survey results it has been found that the low floor buses can reduce average boarding time by 0.8 sec, especially, by 1.1 sec (about 36%) for elderly passengers. These outcomes expect total bus operating hours as well as headways could be reduced, and operating cost and passengers' waiting time could be saved.

Securing a stable residential location is one of the most important decisions that must be made in the modern society. On this matter, both individuals and their families must decide on where to live after taking into consideration various analyses. Contributing attributes in the selection of our dwelling place are crucial. In this research, influencing variables were derived from the intention to move by focusing on the characteristics of the household and traffic conditions, while implications were suggested through a comparison of urban characteristics. Suwon was selected as the case study. The result of the analysis showed the city of Suwon has longer communal satisfaction, relies on self-sufficiency, and is conscious of parking regulation. Preferences for rental housing, having infants and elementary school kids, high savings, and commuter convenience in Suwon and Gyeonggi-do ranked higher in the hierarchy of the intention to move. Compared to Gyeonggi-do, Suwon was influenced by commuters in the city and parking regulation-related variables. Meanwhile, Gyeonggi-do was affected by the lack of public transportation facilities and traffic congestion. Suwon, on the other hand, has a high share of passenger car ownership, so it seems that the psychological stability of parking space is significant. This research will contribute in the policy-making of Suwon, especially on the subject of migration prediction of citizens and real estate location selection, through analyses of variables related to the intention to move to a new residence.

Economic development has resulted in the concentration of population and industry in the metropolitan area. Additionally, the Republic of Korea is experiencing this phenomenon, with more than half of the population living in the Seoul capital area. To alleviate this concentration of population, the Korean government implemented the new town development policy. Unfortunately, this has led to an increase in the commuting population, causing an imbalance in transportation services due to financial and policy differences in each region. This paper analyzes the level of user satisfaction with mega commuting in three aspects: mobility, accessibility, and connectivity. To objectively assess the level of user satisfaction, which is qualitative data, the Rasch Model is used to analyze the collinearity of user data. The results indicate that the level of user satisfaction differs by region, and service satisfaction with mobility is lower than that with accessibility and connectivity. Therefore, prior to the introduction of new town policies, it is necessary to develop metropolitan transportation infrastructure.

The pre-paid nation-wide interoperable transportation card, which an pay fee of bus, subway, train, and highway with just one card, released in June. 2014. It has started and operated from Seoul, Gyeonggi, and major local metropolitan area. In this paper, after starting of service, we evaluate conformance and interoperability of nation-wide interoperable transportation card system in real situation. Through this, we check the status of its technical operation. For this, we choose 6 region included Seoul, Gyeonggi which are serviced by different transport vendors and check recognition and billing result from field of transportation card terminal. As a result, we can reach that the major nation-wide interoperable transportation card operate normally and deliver CONFIG DF query command. It means nation-wide interoperable transportation card system which use only one card stably adapt the public transport system and it can make user's public transport use convenience higher through the extension of service area.

이 시스템은 openCV와 딥러닝 학습모델을 이용하여 횡단보도의 상황을 파악하고 횡단보도위의 객체를 추출하여 자동으로 신호를 제어할 수 있다.보행자를 인식하여 노인, 장애인 등 보행속도가 느린 보행자들을 위해 횡단보도의 신호를 추가하여 보행자의 교통사고를 줄일 수 있다. 또한 교통흐름도 고려하여 차량운전자와 보행자 모두에 도움이 되는 시스템 구현을 목표로 한다.

This study analyzed the travel pattern with respect to use of public transportation by using transportation card data and presented the measures that can be used in a traffic policy. Transportation card data targeted Gyeonggi-Do area and as a utilization plan, a scenario that when a traffic policy decision maker improves bus stop facilities, the person selects a target site by using several variables that can be obtained from transportation card data was set and analyzed. The analysis result showed that K means cluster analysis which is decision making methodology and CHAID(Chi-squared automatic interaction detection) were used and it can be used usefully in policies in significance level of p <0.01. Also, based on these results, this study presented policy implications to be improved to actually use transportation card data in policies.

This Study deals with effect of low visibility condition at nighttime on traffic accident. Roads for experiment of this study are Gyeongbu expressway, Seohaean expressway, Yeongdong expressway and Seoul beltway in Gyeonggi province. For this study, I subdivided basic straight section of them into 58 short section. And I analyzed effect of low visibility condition by darkness at nighttime on traffic accident by using 410 traffic accidents between January 1, 2009 and June 30, 2012 on those sections. The Quasi-experimental and negative binomial regression were applied to analyze effect of low visibility condition at nighttime on traffic accident. In this study, I only analyzed visibility difference of daytime and nighttime on traffic accident except other effective variables on traffic accidents. As a result, I have found that it is for low visibility condition at nighttime to have effect on traffic accidents at such specific conditions as Los A speed is maintained in basic straight section of expressway in fine weather. And I tried to do various analysis on types and causes of traffic accidents using the result of analysis.
