Location and Spatial Variations of Ceramic Industry in Miryang City, Kyongnam Province, Korea (밀양시 요업의 입지와 공간변화)

  • The locational characteristics of ceramic industry in Miryang city, Kyongnam province, were clarified by means of examining the process of its formation, spatial variation, locations and their changes. The government policy on industry and the business fluctuation are important in the quantitative changes of the industry. The spatial variation of industry toward the outer part of area are the results of equilibrium between the decrease of firms in inner city and the increase of firms in outer part. The births and deaths of firms played important role in the processes of spatial variations. The industry location has lasted by the accumulation of location decision of 'potential entrepreneurs' who learned knowledges on the industry and had personal contacts with the business-related persons for long time. The main factors on the locational decision of firms are personal factor, raw materials, land, water and market. The locational problems have mainly related with plant expansion, land, marketing, labour and capital. They caused investment changes and caused relocations of firms. Such disadvantages as raw material exhaustion, shortage of land and congestion within the agglomeration area, development of road transportation and local government policy on industry location, induced recent decentralization of industry to outer part.

Quantitative Evaluation Indicators for the City Bus Route Network (시내버스노선체계 평가를 위한 정량적 지표의 설정 및 적용)

  • A balanced evaluation system for a bus route network was proposed for a mid-sized suburban city. The evaluation system consists of 7 criteria-accessibility, riding comfort. transfer rate, directness of route, productivity of operation, regional equity, and minimum requirement of bus fleet - and quantitative indicators representing each of the criteria. The proposed system was applied in Siheung, a suburban city in Seoul Metropolitan Area. Four alternative scenarios of bus route network including the existing one were evaluated. The results showed that the suggested criteria and indicators are acceptable for the evaluation of a bus route network. In order to enhance the proposed evaluation procedure, further studies on the normalization of produced values and weights for each of the indicators are needed.

Analysis of Factors Affecting Satisfaction with Commuting Time in the Era of Autonomous Driving (자율주행시대에 통근시간 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인분석)

  • As the era of autonomous driving approaches, it is expected to have a significant impact on our lives. When autonomous driving cars emerge, it is necessary to develop an index that can evaluate autonomous driving cars as it enhance the productive value of the car by reducing the burden on the driver. This study analyzed how the autonomous driving era affects commuting time and commuting time satisfaction among office goers using a car in Gyeonggi-do. First, a nonlinear relationship (V) was derived for the commuting time and commuting time satisfaction. Here, the factors affecting commuting time satisfaction were analyzed through a binomial logistic model, centered on the sample belonging to the nonlinear section (70 minutes or more for commuting time), which is likely to be affected by the autonomous driving era. The analysis results show that the variables affected by the autonomous driving era were health, sleeping hours, working hours, and leisure time. Since the emergence of autonomous driving cars is highly likely to improve the influencing variables, long-distance commuters are likely to feel higher commuting time satisfaction.

Decision Making Methods for Types of Roadside Non-point Pollution Reduction Facilities and Its Application (도로비점오염 저감시설의 유형선정방법 개발 및 적용)

  • Roadside non-point pollution reduction facilities are classified as infiltration, vegetation, reservoir, and wetland types based on their respective pollution reduction mechanisms. However, without a detailed analysis of the road and traffic conditions it is very difficult for civil engineers to determine which category of pollution reduction facility is best suited to their planning requirements. To address this issue, we propose a new decision-making method for the selection of roadside non-point pollution reduction facilities. The principal factors informing the proposed decision-making methods are the road characteristics, including location, structure, number of lanes, and traffic volume. As a result of the study, a total of new pollution reduction plans were developed, with their selection conditions and the corresponding applicable facilities established. The effectiveness of the proposed pollution reduction schemes was demonstrated for roads in Kyounggi-do, providing a valuable basis for future pollution reduction plans.

Development of Predicting Model for Livestock Infectious Disease Spread Using Movement Data of Livestock Transport Vehicle (가축관련 운송차량 통행 데이터를 이용한 가축전염병 확산 예측모형 개발)

  • The result of previous studies and epidemiological invstigations for infectious diseases epidemic in livestock have shown that trips made by livestock-related vehicles are the main cause of the spread of these epidemics. In this study, the OD traffic volume of livestock freight vehicle during the week in each zone was calculated using livestock facility visit history data and digital tachograph data. Based on this, a model for predicting the spread of infectious diseases in livestock was developed. This model was trained using zonal records of foot-and-mouth disease in Gyeonggi-do for one week in January and February 2015 and in positive, it was succesful in predicting the outcome in all out of a total 13 actual infected samples for test.

Environmental analysis and strategy to jointly host the 2027 Chungcheong Summer World University Games (2027 충청 하계세계대학경기대회 공동유치를 위한 환경분석 및 전략)

  • This study proposes a strategy to attract visitors by analyzing the justification for hosting the 2027 Summer World University Games in Chungcheong, Korea, as well as by assessing the internal and external factors to promote regional development. Using Environmental Analysis as the diagnostic approach, we focus on strength/opportunity (SO), strength/threat (ST), weakness/opportunity (WO), and weakness/threat (WT) analyses. SO analysis show that a matching strategy of mid- to long-term cooperation among the four cities and provinces in Chungcheong and development of local sports by promoting its linkages to science, and industry offer best strategic use-value. ST analysis shows that optimal infrastructure development and establishment of competition management strategies in preparation for non-face-to-face engagement make balanced regional development possible. WO analysis shows the need for rearrangement and renovation of outdated sports facilities, development of programs linked to convergence sports tourism products, efficient and strategic attraction activities, and promoting sustainable development of bed town cities. WT analysis suggests that the imbalance in regional development due to expansion of sports facilities, insufficient cultural contents in tourism, and tourism demand fluctuation are potential problems. Follow-up studies can focus on deeper analysis of the possibility and attractiveness of hosting the Summer World University Games in Chungcheong, Korea using qualitative methods such as focus group interviews and in-depth interviews with stakeholders and local residents.

A study on the Demand Variations of Gyeongchun line Upon Terminating at Seongbuk Station (경춘선 성북역 시종착에 따른 수요변화 연구)

  • Since 2010 December, the Gyeongchun line can provide better service than the other modes in respect of cost & time efficiency by operating electric double track from Sangbong station to Chuncheon station. However customers living in the Northern part of capital area, which there are stations of line No.1, have inconvenience to transfering twice to access Gyeongchun line. To minimize inconvenience, this study has analyzed the demand variation of Geongchun line upon changing the terminal of some trains on Gyeongchun line which reduces the number of transfer. In this study, the demand variation has been estimated by the direct demand model considering only saving time between O/D. So some additional modifications are required, because the effect of fare and accession convenience has not been considered.

소자본창업 외식업소의 사전준비 요인과 경영성과 간의 관계에 관한 연구

  • 이 연구의 목적은 소자본 외식업소 창업시 사전 준비단계 요인들의 필요성과 그 효용성을 알아보는 데 연구목적을 세우고, 서울 및 경기지역에 소재하고 있는 외식업체 창업자들을 대상으로 전문조사원이 설문조사를 실시하여 수집된 자료를 spss(통계 패키지 프로그램)를 활용하여 분석하였다. 창업전 준비단계별 중요성 평가와 경영성과 간의 관계를 규명함으로써 새로 소자본 외식업소 창업을 하고자 하는 예비 창업자들에게 좀 더 효율적인 정보를 제공하고자 한다. 연구 결과, 창업준비성 요인인 창업교육, 창업동기, 업종경험, 자금조달 능력,사업자 역량, 가족의 동의, 창업자의 건강이 타 요인 대비 더 많이 강조되었으며, 창업준비성 요인에 대한 경영성과 우수집단의 중요성 평가가 저조집단 대비 통계 적으로 유의미하게 높았다. 업종(아이템) 선정 요인인 아이템과 창업자, 창업자금, 입지와의 적합성, 수명주기, 향후 발전성, 유행성, 노동력 공급의 용이성이 타 요인 대비 더 많이 강조되었으며, 아이템 선정 요인에 대한 경영성과 우수집단의 중요성 평가가 저조집단 대비 통계적으로 유의미하게 높았다. 상권내 입지분석 요인인 경쟁점포, 유동인구, 교통 편리성, 주목성, 가시성이 타 요인 대비 더 많이 강조 되었으며, 상권내 입지분석 요인에 대한 경영성과 우수집단의 중요성 평가가 저조집단 대비 통계적으로 유의미하게 높았다. 이 같은 결과는 여러 준비단계 중 특히 창업준비성 요인과 아이템선정 요인, 상권내 입지분석 요인이 중요하며, 이는 장기적으로 안정된 경영을 뒷받침해주는 요인임을 시사한 것으로 볼 수 있다.

  • The common causes of neck closed injuries are automobile accidents and sports troubles; open injuries are gun-shot wounds and stab wounds. Generally, the treatment of wide laryngopharyngeal injuries consists of tracheostomy for adequate airway, simple repair and, later, surgical intervention for chronic laryngeal stenosis and hypopharyngeal reconstruction. Recently, authors experienced a case of extensive communicated wound with large defect on the layngopharyngeal structures and anterior neck skin. This large defect was reconstructed with horizontal cervical skin flap after total laryngectomy.

Development of roadside image data acquisition system for road facility management (도로 시설물 관리를 위한 노변 영상 취득 시스템 개발에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구에서 개발한 노변 영상(roadside image) 취득 시스템은 효율적으로 도로 시설물들을 관리하기 위함이다. 복잡하고 긴 구간의 도로에 존재하는 도로 시설물을 인력을 사용하여 조사하기에는 많은 시간과 비용이 소요된다. 도로를 따라 움직이는 차량을 이용하는 경우에는 적은 인원과, 단시간에 노변에 설치된 시설물 등의 현황과 상태를 조사 할 수 있으며 도로 주변의 다양한 정보를 알 수가 있다. 또한, 차량에 장착된 GPS/INS 통합시스템을 사용하여 해당 영상의 정확한 위치 정보를 획득 할 수 있다. 그러나 선명한 영상을 취득하기 위해서 야외의 다양한 조건을 만족시키는 카메라와 렌즈의 선정이 중요하며, 이에 따른 동기화 장치(synchronization device)와 영상 획득 프로그램의 개발이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 경기도 고양시를 대상으로 시험을 실시하였으며, 현재 시판되고 있는 최신의 다양한 종류의 카메라와 렌즈를 차량에 장착한 후 영상을 취득하여 연구에 적합한 하드웨어를 선정하였다. 또한 동기화 장치를 사용하여 DMI(Distance Measuring Instrument)에서 발생되는 트리거 신호를 입력받아 일정한 거리마다 영상을 취득하는 S/W와 동기화 장치의 성능을 테스트하였다. 취득된 노변 영상의 위치 정확도를 테스트하기 위해 DGPS 방법을 이용하여 후처리 하였으며, 레벨 2수준의 교통주제도에 차량의 이동궤적과 도로의 선형을 중첩하여 육안으로 비교 분석하였다. 취득된 노변 영상을 분석하여 지상 모니터링 분야에서 도로 주변 시설물의 변화 탐지에 이용이 가능한 대상 시설물 목록을 선정하였으며 매우 효율적으로 도로의 유지관리에 활용이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.
