  • This study purports to analyze how individuals' labor market integration affect their transition to marriage. In doing so, I construct variables for job stability and continuity to represent labor market integration using labor force status and years of participation at the time of marriage and during the three years up to the point of marriage. In particular, I focus on differential effects of these labor market integration on the transition to marriage by cohorts: one for those who are likely to enter the labor market after the 1997 financial crisis and the other for those who are before the 1997 financial crisis. I used the Korean Labor and Income Panel Study and analyzed individuals aged above 18 in 2008. The main results are as follows. being currently employed and regular employment increases hazards of the first marriage for men but decreases them for women. long-term no-jobs decreases hazards of marriage for both women and men. long-term regular employment increases hazards of marriage for women but not for men at the statistically significant level. These effects vary by cohorts implying that recent economic and labor market instability deteriorated economic conditions for the youth making transitions to marriage.

The subjects for this study were 257 women at a university, college, a bank worker and health clinic visitor in Busan city. The date for this study was collected from August 25th to September 24th 2006 by structured questionaries, and were analyzed mean, standard deviations(SD), $x^2$-test, t-test and multiple Logistic regression using SPSS/WIN 12.0. The mean performance of the premarital examination was 28.4%. Thirty-five point five percent of unmarried women and 71.6 percent of married women had experience of heard premarital examination. The score of attitude toward premarital examination were that single women was 23.04 and married women was 22.55, respectively. The scores of behavioral control cognition between unmarried women and married women were statistically significant different. The predictor of premarital examination intention was necessity of premarital examination, and the predictors of examination compliance were experience of hearing examination and behavioral control cognition. • The purpose of the study was to evaluate patients' compliance with the hemodialysis and to investigate relationships between compliance, physiological parameters, and health-related quality of life. Data were collected from 220 patients at 27 local hemodialysis clinics. Compliance was measured with Sick-role Behavioral Compliance including interdialytic weight gain, serum potassium, and phosphorus. Health-related quality of life was assessed using Medical Outcomes Study Short Form-12. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation. Total compliance scored 2.92 out of 4 points on average. Among fifteen items, 'I keep on my dialysis schedule(time and date)' was the highest score. There were differences in the scores for compliance according to age, marital status, and dialysis period. Statistically significant correlations were found between four compliance items(medication, infection control, sleep, eating vegetable and fruit) and health-related quality of life. The results of the study indicate that a patient-centered approach would be helpful to improve quality of life in patients with hemodialysis. Healthcare providers need to understand the patients' perspectives by identifying what is important to patients and taking patient values and priorities into account.

  • Patterns and changes of marriage have drawn much attention as they have been pointed out a key factor of low fertility. Nonetheless, systematic studies on marriage have been quite limited. This study, using recent nationwide survey on marriage and fertility, attempts to explain whether and how intention of marriage would differ between never married men and never married women. The logit regression analysis reveals that the likelihood of planning marriage between both sexes are still different even after controlling demographic characteristics, economic status, household and family background, and attitudes toward sex and premarital cohabitation. Furthermore, important factors affecting the likelihood of planning marriage turns out to be different between men and women. For instance, men with a job is more likely than men without a job to plan marriage. However, for women, the effect of having a job is not found. Such result, with other sex differential effects of living arrangement and attitudinal variable, suggests that the mechanism through which men and women transit from singlehood to marriage would differ. More attention on gender differential should be paid in developing conceptual arguments and conducting empirical analysis regarding marriage and its related topics.

  • This study is a descriptive investigation study to identify the Convergence factors of the subjective health status, communication with medical personnel and drug misuse on medication adherence. The subjects of this study were 179 senior citizens who used community elderly welfare centers. Data were collected from January 13, 2020 to January 17, 2020. Data analysis was performed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA. Post-Hoc Test Was performed using Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple regression analysis. The regression equation of this study explained 24% of medication adherence. Drug misuse(𝛽=-4.32, p=<.001) was the factor that had the greatest influence on the medication adherence, followed by the presence or absence of chronic disease (𝛽=-3.04, p=.003), marital status (𝛽=2.64, p=.009), and communication with medical personnel (𝛽=2.26, p=.025 ) in that order. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a convergence system of medication adherence for the elderly using community welfare centers.

  • In general, women's labor force participation follows a M-curve pattern because women's state of economic activity usually changes by their life course stage. This research attentions that the effect of sequence of life course as well as the effects of‘marriage bar’, or‘maternity leave’is very important in understanding women's chaning economic activity status. First, this research hypothesizes that women's four patterns of job career such as‘continuous pattern’,‘discontinuous pattern’,‘non-economic activity pattern’,‘marriage leave pattern’result a significant difference in social and demographic variables. Second, this research analyzes the effect of ordering and timing of life events on women's work transition. This research investigates labor market dynamics to conceptualize labor market behaviors using longitudinal data and sequence analysis and event history analysis. We find that four patterns of job career vary by age, educational attainment, having a certificate or not, their parents’human capital and health status. And we find that the ordering and timing of‘participation in labor market’and‘marriage’determine the pattern of women's work transition.
