  • This study investigates the perception of radiation safety management in radiation generator manufacturing workers and medical institutions. The basic data obtained is further applied to improve active coping ability and safety levels. The knowledge and attitude practice score of radiation was found to be related to gender, age, marital status, occupation, position, current work period, total work period, radiation related work period, the manual available, defense facility maintenance, number of defense equipment, radiation safety education, special health examination, and recognition of radiation terms. In particular, the knowledge score of radiologists was highest among the radiation-related occupations (<0.05). Radiation safety management requires active defense endeavors to prevent radiation exposure, by both workers of radiation manufacturers and medical institutions. Moreover, institutional devices such as compliance with guidelines, periodic education, facility reinforcement, manual preparation, and special health checkups are required for efficient radiation safety management.

  • This study aimed to assess the level of intention to tampon use among female university students and to identify factors influencing intention to tampon use. The participants were 140 female university students. Data collection was performed through an online survey using chi-squared test, spearman's correlation coefficients, and multivariable logistic regression analysis from March 13 to March 30, 2024. In this study, it was found that 63.6% of female university students had an intention to use tampon and factors influencing intention to tampon use were marital status, length of menstruation, and prior experience with tampon use. Specifically, participants who were 'unmarried', 'had menstruation lasting 5 days or shorter', and 'had previous experience with tampon use' demonstrated a higher intention to use tampons. Therefore, it is necessary to continuously monitor the changing patterns of women's menstrual product usage and intention, identify influencing factors, and establish educational and promotional strategies to provide information on the characteristics and usage of menstrual products, enabling women to choose the best products suited to their menstrual needs.

Sample number was 1,138 workers. In small & medium factories with 300 workers or less, they have two alternatives for occupational health management ; Individual Health Management or Vicarious Health Management. The second purpose was to determine if there was a relationship between duration of Vicarious health management and mean KAP scores for 694 workers from the Vicarious Health Management group. We used self-administered questionnaires for measuring KAP. The results of this study were; 1. There was significant difference concerning all socioeconomic & occupational variables (gender, age, education level, marital status, Blue/White collar, working duration of present factory, working duration of total factories) except for shift. 2. There was no significant difference of mean scores of Knowledge and Attitude between the Individual Health Management Group and the Vicarious Health Management. But, the mean score of Practice was significantly different. 3. According to multiple regression analysis, the mean score of Knowledge significantly increased with age, education level, working duration of all factories increased. The mean score of Attitude significantly increased with age, education level and married. The mean score of Practice significantly increased with age, education level, working duration of all factories, married and men. 4. In conclusion, The type of Health management did not significantly affect the mean KAP scores concerning major occupational Health problems. 5. • This study analyzed the tooth brushing behavior and oral health status of foreigner immigrant workers and obtained the following results. Statistical significance based on different general characteristics. Gender, educational background, period of stay, health insurance, medical expense coverage, and whether or not one has friends or regular gatherings were significant traits for frequency, while age, marital status, income, and health insurance were traits for part (p<0.05). Statistical significance (p<0.05) was found in marital status and health insurance for time used to brush teeth, period of stay and whether or not one attends a regular gathering for tooth brushing training, and gender, educational background, period of stay, roommate status, medical expense coverage, and whether or not one attends a regular gathering for supplemental oral product usage. The averages of decayed, missing, and filled teeth (DMFT) index and community periodontal index of treatment needs (CPITN) for general characteristics were 6.98 and 3.03 respectively, and gender, roommate status, income, health insurance for DMFT index, and gender, age, marital status, educational background, roommate status, income, health insurance for CPITN were statistically significant (p<0.05). Tooth brushing frequency and part showed statistical significance (p<0.05) for DMFT index based on tooth brushing behavior, while tooth brushing part and time used to brush teeth were significant for CPITN. DMFT index was high at 8.34 for '3 times or more' in tooth brushing frequency, while DMFT index was high at 7.91 and CPITN was low at 2.94 for tooth brushing part. '3 minutes or longer' in time used to brush teeth was the lowest in CPITN at 2.88. As a result of analyzing the correlation between tooth brushing behavior and DMFT index, CPITN, tooth brushing frequency and part in DMFT index, and tooth brushing part and time used to brush teeth in CPITN showed significance (p<0.05). Based on the above results, we must promote the significance of brushing teeth and implement continuous training for correct tooth brushing management to enhance the oral health of foreign immigrant workers.

The estimation results are as follows: first, the married women have the lowest financial knowledge among four groups especially in general financial knowledge. Second, there is the mean-difference between married women and the other groups in investment horizon and self-assessment for investment ability. Third, the fund performance of married women is the lowest compared with the other groups. The findings imply that the financial capability of married women is the lowest among four groups.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the factors affecting the dietary adaptation of female immigrants in multi-cultural families in Busan. The survey was conducted from October 10 to November 30, 2010 using questionnaires, and the data was analyzed using the SPSS program. The subjects were mainly from China (58.8%), Vietnam (14.7%), Philippines (8.8%) and Japan (7.4%). The longer they had resided in Korea, the lower their preference they had for Korean foods. There were no significant differences in preference according to their nationality. The subjects reported that their consumption of cereals (36.7%), meats (40.0%), fish (50.8%), milk and dairy products (47.4%), vegetables (48.3%), fruits (44.8%), fat and oil (29.1%) and beverages (32.8%) were increased after immigration. They usually obtained information about Korean foods from family (26.5%) and television and internet (26.5%). Sixty four point seven percent of the females ate 'everyday' Korean foods and 30.9% ate their home country foods every day. A higher will for learning Korean foods, intake frequency and age resulted in a higher adaptation of Korean dietary life. Lower marital conflict resulted in higher adaptation. These results suggest that it would be effective to provide systematic nutrition education program for female immigrants and their families to adapt to Korean dietary life.
