Improvement of multi layer perceptron performance using combination of adaptive moments and improved harmony search for prediction of Daecheong Dam inflow (대청댐 유입량 예측을 위한 Adaptive Moments와 Improved Harmony Search의 결합을 이용한 다층퍼셉트론 성능향상)

  • High-reliability prediction of dam inflow is necessary for efficient dam operation. Recently, studies were conducted to predict the inflow of dams using Multi Layer Perceptron (MLP). Existing studies used the Gradient Descent (GD)-based optimizer as the optimizer among MLP operators to find the optimal correlation between data. However, the GD-based optimizers have disadvantages in that the prediction performance is deteriorated due to the possibility of convergence to the local optimal value and the absence of storage space. This study improved the shortcomings of the GD-based optimizer by developing Adaptive moments combined with Improved Harmony Search (AdamIHS), which combines Adaptive moments among GD-based optimizers and Improved Harmony Search (IHS). In order to evaluate the learning and prediction performance of MLP using AdamIHS, Daecheong Dam inflow was learned and predicted and compared with the learning and prediction performance of MLP using GD-based optimizer. Comparing the learning results, the Mean Squared Error (MSE) of MLP, which is 5 hidden layers using AdamIHS, was the lowest at 11,577. Comparing the prediction results, the average MSE of MLP, which is one hidden layer using AdamIHS, was the lowest at 413,262. Using AdamIHS developed in this study, it will be possible to show improved prediction performance in various fields.

Assessments of Nitrate Budget by Currents and Biogeochemical Process in the Korea Strait based on a 3D Physical-Biogeochemical Coupled Model (3차원 물리-생지화학 결합 모델을 이용한 대한해협 주변의 해류와 생지화학적 요인에 의한 질산염 유출입 평가)

  • Nitrate (NO3-) plays an important role in aquaculture and ecosystems in the Korea Strait. Observational data propose that ocean currents are crucial to NO3- budget in the Korea Strait. However, assessment of budget by currents and biogeochemical processes has not yet been investigated. This study examines seasonal and spatial variations in NO3- budget by currents and biological processes in the Korea Strait from 2011 to 2019 using a physical-biogeochemical coupled model. Model results suggest that current-driven net supply of NO3- is consumed by uptake of phytoplankton in the Korea Strait. Advective influx is driven by the Tsushima warm current and the influx by the Jeju warm current is approximately one third of it. All of the influxes are transported out to the East Sea through the Korea Strait, of which two third passes through the western channel and the rest through the eastern channel. Annual mean NO3- net transport show that currents supply NO3- year round except for January, but the budget by biogeochemical processes consumes it every season except for winter.

The comparative study of determinants of family policy expenditure : focused on OECD 14 countries (복지국가의 아동·가족 복지 지출 결정요인에 대한 비교연구: OECD 국가를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify that several theories explaining the determinants of welfare expenditure is applied to the family policy expenditure and to find out if there' re unique determinants of the family policy expenditure. We analyzed the data (OECD 14 countries for 1980~2005) by pooled time series analysis. As for industrialization theory, female labor force participation rate has positive effect on family policy expenditure while population under 15-year children has negative effect, which refers to the demand of family policies is that of female workers, not children's. Power resource theory is applied to the determinants of family policy expenditure as those of welfare expenditure. Women's political & economic empowerment has partly positive effects on family policy expenditure, which is the evidence of the effectiveness of feminist theory. In the institutional theory, we verified the effect of policy legacy but couldn't find out the crowding-out effect. The theoretical implication of this study is the empirical verification of the theories explaining the determinants of welfare expenditure being applied to the family policy expenditure. We also suggested the political and institutional foundation to effectively respond to the new social risks in spite of budget constraints, which can be a policy implication.

Analyzing the Online Game User's Game Item Transacting Behaviors by Using Fuzzy Logic Agent-Based Modeling Simulation (온라인 게임 사용자의 게임 아이템 거래 행동 특성 분석을 위한 퍼지논리 에이전트 기반 모델링 시뮬레이션)

  • This study aims to analyze online game user's game items transacting behaviors for the two game genres such as MMORPG and sports game. For the sake of conducting the analysis, we adopted a fuzzy logic agent-based modeling. In the online game fields, game items transactions are crucial to game company's profitability. However, there are lack of previous studies investigating the online game user's game items transacting activities. Since many factors need to be addressed in a complicated way, ABM (agent-based modeling) simulation mechanism is adopted. Besides, a fuzzy logic is also considered due to the fact that a number of uncertainties and ambiguities exist with respect to online game user's complex behaviors in transacting game items. Simulation results from applying the fuzzy logic ABM method revealed that MMORPG game users are motivated to pay expensive price for high-performance game items, while sports game users tend to transact game items within a reasonable price range. We could conclude that the proposed fuzzy logic ABM simulation mechanism proved to be very useful in organizing an effective strategy for online game items management and customers retention.

Effect of Pyrolysis Fuel Oil Based Carbon Coating onto CFX Cathode on High-rate Performance of Lithium Primary Batteries (불화탄소 전극의 열분해 연료유 기반 탄소 코팅이 리튬일차전지의 고율속 성능에 미치는 영향)

  • The performance of carbon fluoride-based lithium primary batteries (Li/CFX) is limited due to poor rate capability resulting from the low conductivity of carbon fluoride, which is used as the active material. Therefore, in this study, we applied a carbon coating using pyrolysis fuel oil on carbon fluoride to overcome this limitation and considered its electrochemical performance. An amorphous carbon layer was formed on the surface of the carbon fluoride through carbon coating, and the surface physicochemical properties of the carbon fluoride were meticulously considered based on the heat treatment temperature. The advanced research chemical 1000 heat treated at 450 ℃ (ARC@C450) sample, which was commercial carbon fluoride heat-treated at 450 ℃, showed the largest increase in the concentration of sp2 carbon bonds (62%) and the highest formation of semi-ionic C-F bonds. Also, the primary battery using the ARC@C450 sample as a cathode active material exhibited stable discharge capability at the highest rate of 5 C (392 mAh/g), and the Rct value was reduced by 53% compared to the untreated sample. Therefore, we proposed pyrolysis fuel oil-based carbon coating as a method to overcome the low conductivity of carbon fluoride, and the carbon-coated carbon fluoride showed excellent rate performance, suggesting its potential application in high-power primary batteries.

Real-Time 3D Volume Deformation and Visualization by Integrating NeRF, PBD, and Parallel Resampling (NeRF, PBD 및 병렬 리샘플링을 결합한 실시간 3D 볼륨 변형체 시각화)

  • Research combining deep learning-based models and physical simulations is making important advances in the medical field. This extracts the necessary information from medical image data and enables fast and accurate prediction of deformation of the skeleton and soft tissue based on physical laws. This study proposes a system that integrates Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF), Position-Based Dynamics (PBD), and Parallel Resampling to generate 3D volume data, and deform and visualize them in real-time. NeRF uses 2D images and camera coordinates to produce high-resolution 3D volume data, while PBD enables real-time deformation and interaction through physics-based simulation. Parallel Resampling improves rendering efficiency by dividing the volume into tetrahedral meshes and utilizing GPU parallel processing. This system renders the deformed volume data using ray casting, leveraging GPU parallel processing for fast real-time visualization. Experimental results show that this system can generate and deform 3D data without expensive equipment, demonstrating potential applications in engineering, education, and medicine.

Effect of Nano Particles on the Hathcing rate of Artemia sp. Cyst Zooplankton (나노입자가 알테미아(Artemia sp.) Cyst 부화율에 미치는 영향)

  • 9 kinds of nanoparticle used for this study was a particle with the size of less than 100 nm of diameter, and Artemia sp. cyst examined what kind of influence to have upon the process hatched out in nauplius. 82% hatched in nauplius at the opposition ward where a nanoparticle wasn't added after 24 time course. AGZ020, Nano silver, P-25, Sb and SnO nanoparticle showed hatching rate of 18%, 20%, 13%, 50% and 0% respectively by the 20mg/L density, and it became clear that a harmful effect is big, but I had a harmful effect compared with the opposition ward by 75%, 60%, 73% and 73% respectively by Ag-$TiO_2$, In, Sn and Zn nanoparticle, but a feeble thing was known relatively compared with AGZ020, Nano silver, P-25, Sb and SnO nanoparticle. The difference has caused this with the ingredient a nanoparticle has. Ag is included 2 % and AGZ020, Nano silver and P-25 nanoparticle are used widely as anti-fungus agent, and the SnO nanoparticle which became combination is a light catalyst pill, and oxygen is used for a Sn particle. This and others, a possibility that use is generalized and flows into aquatic environment in sequence the home electronics, functionality cosmetics, anti-fungus agent and a light catalyst pill at present becomes high for nanoparticles and others. The anxiety which has an influence on the ecology world in the water with this can be generated, so I'd have to study the potential danger a nanoparticle has continuously.

  • 최근의 고유가와 환경오염에 대한 대응 수단으로 수송용 바이오연료의 보급에 대한 관심이 세계적으로 높아지고 있다. 이 중 바이오디젤은 동식물성 기름으로부터 메탄올과의 전이에스테르화 반응에 의해 생산되는 경유대체 연료로서 환경 친화성과 지속가능성이 인정됨에 따라 그 생산량이 급격히 증가하고 있다. 바이오디젤의 생산량이 증가함에 따라 대두유, 유채유, 팜유 등의 원료유 가격 상승 및 수급 불안정 문제가 대두되고 있으며 식량자원과의 충돌 문제도 발생되고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위한 방안으로 유리지방산 함량이 높은 저가유지 자원(폐식용유, 폐돈지, 폐우지, soapstock, trapped grease)을 이용한 공정 개발 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 비활용되고 있는 해외 열대작물 열매씨앗에서 착유한 식물성 오일의 바이오디젤 원료유로서의 사용 가능성을 검토하였다. 열대작물 오일의 물성 분석 결과 고형물, 수분, 인, 유리지방산 함량이 대두원유보다 매우 높게 나타났다. 오일 중의 인지질은 바이오디젤 제조 반응후 에스테르와 글리세린의 층분리를 방해하여 공정 효율을 감소시키고 유리지방산은 염기촉매와 결합하여 지방산염을 생성해 생산수율을 감소시키는 문제를 일으킨다. 고형물과 수분은 여과와 감압증발에 의해 쉽게 제거가 가능하였다. 15~20%의 유리지방산 함유 열대작물 오일의 전처리를 위해 균질계 산촉매와 비균질 고체 산촉매를 이용해 에스테르화 반응 효율을 조사한 결과 황산이 가장 높은 효율을 보였다. 반응표면분석법(Response Surface Method, RSM)을 적용해 메탄올과 촉매량의 2변수 에스테르화반응 최적화를 수행한 결과 메탄올 26%, 촉매 0.98%로 최적 조건이 도출되었으며 초기 산가 33mgKOH/g에서 0.98mgKOH/g으로 감소됨을 확인하였다. 전처리 정제한 오일의 물성분석 결과 고형물 0.1%, 수분 0.10%, 산가 1.0mgKOH/g, 인함량 20ppm 이하로 바람직한 원료유가 생산됨을 알 수 있었다. 제조된 원료유를 이용해 전이에스테르화 반응 최적화 실험을 RSM에 근거하여 진행한 결과 KOH 0.8%, 메탄올:오일 몰비 6.2:1, 반응온도 $60^{\circ}C$, 교반속도 200rpm, 반응시간 30분으로 나타났으며 증류 정제전 97.3%, 증류후 100.0%의 바이오디젤을 생산 할 수 있었다. 열대작물 오일의 전처리 공정은 메탄올을 과잉양으로 사용함으로 효과적인 알콜 회수 공정이 중요하다. 전처리 후 층분리를 통해 회수되는 메탄올 중의 수분함량은 2%~7%로서 이를 전처리 반응에 재사용하기 위해서는 0.3%이하의 수분함량으로 정제가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 고가의 증류탑 형태가 아닌 단증류방식으로 2단계 내지 3단계로 0.3% 수분의 메탄올 회수 조건을 도출하였으며 파일롯 공정 설계를 진행하고 있다. 이로서 본 연구의 열대작물 오일은 저가로 충분한 물량의 확보가 가능하다면 바이오디젤 원료 자원으로서 큰 활용가치가 있는 것으로 판단된다.

DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITAL IMAGING FIBER-OPTIC TRANS-ILLUMINATION SYSTEM (Digital Imaging Fiber-Optic Trans-Illumination System 개발)

  • This study was performed to improve the conventional $DIFOTI^{TM}$ system(EOS Inc., USA) by developing the prototype of DIFOTI system which consists of light emitting diode(LED) and digital camera. The images of enamel surfaces treated under Carbopol 907 de-mineralizing solution were taken daily during 7 days of experimental periods by both DIFOTI systems. The results of comparative analyses of obtained images can be summarized as follows: 1. Trans-illumination indices of images taken from sample enamel surfaces were decreased with time in both systems. 2. The difference of intensity of luminance between sound and de-mineralized enamel surface in prototype DIFOTI system was shown to be relatively smaller than conventional $DIFOTI^{TM}$ system. The application of LED light source in prototype DIFOTI system could possibly reduce the amount of current consumption and that could ultimately lead us to the successful development of wireless model with battery. The innovative development of digital camera is undoubtedly expected to create much clearer image despite of wireless transfer. LED and digital camera can be combined into a smaller size but a very important task of improving image manager and analyzing program into a simpler and easier one to manipulate has to be solved.

Hypocholesterolemic Effect of Lyophilized, Heat-Killed Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Lactobacillus plantarum (가열살균한 Lactobacillus rhamnosus와 Lactobacillus plantarum의 콜레스테롤 저하 효과)

  • Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) were well known to enhance the intestinal health of human. For the development of pharmaceutical LAB. it was screened that the LAB with activity lowering the cholesterol in vitro and evaluated the hypocholestrolemic effect of live and heat-killed (HK) LAB on rats. The selected Lactobacillus plantarum CBT 1209 and Lactobacillus rhamnosus CBT 1702 had the deconjugation of bile salts and assimilation of cholesterol micelles activities from laboratory media, The mixture of 1702 and 1209 strains was administrated to the rats with high cholesterol diet. The experiment performed by 4 groups which were control, HCD, LLAB, HKLAB groups. The hypocholesterolemic effect of LAB (strains 1702, 1209) at blood level, the phenomena of AI decreasing through LDL-cholesterol dwindling, was assessed. This effect of 1702 and 1209 was enhanced when it comes to be the HKLAB more the live-LAB, This data means that the Lactobacillus rhamnosus CBT 1702 and Lactobacillus plantarum CBT 1209 were very useful functional ingredient for hypercholesterolemia.
