Convergent Influence of Self Efficacy, Academic Control and School Resilience on TOEIC Learning Flow among Health College Students (보건계열 대학생의 자기효능감, 학업통제감 및 학교적응유연성이 TOEIC 학습몰입에 미치는 융복합적인 영향)

  • This study investigates convergent influence on TOEIC learning flow and its association with self efficacy, academic control and school resilience among health college students. Data collection was carried out using a self-administered questionnaire from May 1 to May 29, 2018 and the target was randomly selected 255 health college students in TOEIC class from college located in J city. TOEIC learning flow was positively correlated with self efficacy, academic control and school resilience. With the analysis of covariance structure, we could confirm relationship among self efficacy, academic control, school resilience and TOEIC learning flow. School resilience was more influential on TOEIC learning flow than self efficacy and academic control. The results of the study indicate that the efforts to manage these factors are required to increase TOEIC learning flow of health college students in TOEIC class. The results are expected to be used to develop TOEIC learning curriculum increasing the TOEIC learning flow among health college students in TOEIC class. In the following study, the survey about additional factors of influence on TOEIC learning flow will be needed.

A Convergence Structural Model for Self-leadership among Female Freshmen in Health Majors Studying TOEIC (TOEIC을 학습하는 보건계열 신입 여대생의 셀프리더쉽에 관한 융복합적 구조모형)

  • This study ascertained convergent influence on self-leadership and its association with self-competence, self-efficacy and locus of control among female freshmen in health majors studying TOEIC. Data collection was carried out using a self-administered questionnaire from April 29, 2019 to May 10, 2019 and the target was randomly selected 201 female freshmen in health majors in TOEIC class from college located in J city. Self-leadership was positively correlated with self-competence, self-efficacy and locus of control. The covariance structure analysis showed that the higher self-competence, the higher self-efficacy and the lower locus of control tend to increase self-leadership. The results of the study indicate that the efforts, to increase self-competence and self-efficacy, to decrease locus of control, are required to improve self-leadership of female freshmen in health majors studying TOEIC. These results are expected to be used for educational counseling and intervention efforts to enhance self-leadership among female freshmen in health majors studying TOEIC. In future studies, further research on additional factors affecting self-leadership is needed.

The relatioships of personality, job motivation, and job satisfaction among older empoyees (활동적 노인의 성격, 직무동기 및 직무만족 사이의 관계)

  • The first aim of this study was to explore the roles of personality variables on work motivation and job satisfaction. The second purpose was to setup a path model, in which the personality variables would impact on work motivation and job satisfaction. The third purpose of the current study was to examine medation effects of work motivation between personality variables and job satisfaction. In total, 280 older employees who worked in the various fields participated at this study. The reuslts of hierachial regression analysis found that agreeableness, conscientiousness, and interanl locus of control positively predicted on work motivation. The results indicated that openness to experience and neuroticism negatively influenced on work motivation. Also, we found that agreeableness, conscientiousness, and self-esteem positively predicted on job satisfaction. The resutls of path analysis showed that work motvation mediated the relationship between agreeableness, conscientiousness, and interanl locus of control and job satisfaction, respectively. Finally, implicaions of the results, limitations of this study, and directions of future research were discussed.

The Effects of Weekly Reports as a Method for Encouraging Student Questions in Middle School Science Instruction (중학교 과학 수업에서 학생 질문을 촉진하는 방안으로서의 주단위 보고서의 효과)

  • This study investigated the effects of weekly reports as a method for encouraging student questions in middle school science instruction by focusing on student conceptual understanding, achievement, concept map, and perceptions of weekly reports. Seventh graders (N=211) from a middle school were assigned to control and weekly reports (WR) groups. All students were taught about the 'three states of matter', the 'motion of molecules', and the 'change of states and thermal energy' for eighteen class hours. Students in the WR group were required to write weekly reports for six of those periods. Results revealed that conception test scores for the WR group were significantly higher than those for the control group. Compared conception test scores by learning strategy, students using a surface learning strategy in the WR group scored significantly higher than those in the control group. While students employing a deep learning strategy in the WR group also performed better than those in the control group, the difference was relatively small. The scores of an achievement test and a concept map test for the WR group were significantly higher than those for the control group. However, there were no significant interactions between instruction and students' learning strategy in the two variables. It was also found that most students in the WR group positively perceived weekly reports.

Estimation of Traffic Safety Improvement by Applying a Traffic Control Device (교통통제장치 적용에 따른 교통안전도 향상에 관한 연구)

  • Speeding is one of the major causes of traffic accidnets in urban areas. Driver feedback sign(DFS) is a traffic control device that can be used for many traffic environments including work zones, school zones, and roadways. In this paper, the effectiveness of DFS was evaluated through a field study using speed data collected from before and after study periods. In addition traffic safety improvement was also quantitatively estimated using the variance of speed data collected. Staistical test results showed that the speed difference was statistically significant, and the distribution of speed data was also shifted greatly. Therefore, it was concluded that installing the DFS in roadways might lead to unifomity of speed of traffic flow, thus, potential safety improvement might be expected.

Validation of a Self-instructional Foodservice Inventory Control System Module (집단 급식소 재고 관리 시스템에 관한 자기학습식 Module의 타당성 검증)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 1) 집단 급식소의 재고 관리 시스템에 관한 자기학습식 Module (Self-instructional Module)을 개발하고, 2) 비동등 통계 실험연구 디자인 (Nonequivalent Control group research design)을 사용하요 자기학습식 재고 관리 시스템 Module의 교육적 효과를 평가하여, 3) 교육기관 및 집단 급식소에서의 교육용 교재로서의 타당성 여부를 검증하고자 함이다. 집단급식소의 재고 관리 시스템에 관한 자기학습식 Module을 개발하기 위해서 현재 미국 전역의 가정대학 내의 식품영양 및 급식경양학과에서 재고 관리에 관련된 교과목을 위하여 채택되어 사용되어지고 있는 주요 교과서들의 내용 분석과 급식경영학 전공 교수 3인의 판단에 기초를 두어 재고관리에 포함되어야 할 내용이 분석되었다. 포함되어져 있는 내용의 목차는 반입(receiving), 저장(storing), 출고(issuing), 재고통제(inventory control), 재고의 자산적 가치(inventory valuation) 및 재고관리 시스템의 자동화(inventory control computer system)등이다. 실험 대상은 Iowa 주립대학에서 급식정보관리 (Foodservice Management Information System) 과목을 수강하였던 88명의 학생이며, 강의를 통해 수업을 받은 통제집단 46명과, 자기 학습식 Module을 사용했던 실험집단 42명으로 구성되었다. 모든 실험 대상에게는 사전검사(Pretest)와 사후검사(posttest)를 실시하였으며 자료의 처리는 SPSS PC Package를 통계법으로 분석하였다. 연구결과는 강의 중심의 통제집단과 자기학습식 Module을 사용했던 실험집단 간의 통제 후 평균 값(posttest adjusted mean score)사이에는 유의적인 차이를 보였으며 (p<0.05), 자기 학습식 Module 그룹에 속해 있던 학생들이 더 높은 통제 후 평균값(adjusted mean score)을 보여 주었다. 그러므로, 이 실험을 통하여, 개발된 집단 급식소 재고관리 시스템에 대한 자기학습식 Module은 학생들에게 재고관리 시스템에 관한 개념과 내용의 습득력을 향상시키는데 있어서 적어도 강의식 교수법과 동일하거나 더나은 교육적 효과를 가져왔다고 판단되었다.

  • 홍수통제소는 수문조사, 하천유량관리, 홍수예보 등 다양한 업무를 수행하고 있다. 수문조사는 물 관리를 위한 기본 자료 확보와 수자원이라는 국가의 귀중한 자산을 정량화하는 중요한 업무이다. 하천유량 관리는 하천의 물을 합리적으로 관리하여 공익을 증진하고 모든 사람들이 혜택을 고루 향유할 수 있도록 배분하는 업무이다. 홍수예보는 큰 비에 의해 유역에서 발생할 수 있는 홍수의 규모를 예측하고 그 수치를 유관기관에 제공하여 홍수를 사전에 대비토록 함으로써 홍수피해를 최소화 할 수 있도록 하는 업무이다. 상기 언급된 홍수통제소의 주요 업무들을 효율적으로 수행하기 위하여 낙동강홍수통제소에서는 전년도 시험연구과제로서 "홍수통제소 발전방안"이라는 주제로 낙동강 홍수통제소의 발전을 위한 기본적인 개선항목 중 홍수통제소 홍보동영상 제작을 통한 통제소 홍보 및 이미지 제고, 수자원 자료실의 전산화와 관측소 이력 및 기본제원 시스템화 등을 통한 업무의 효율성 증대를 위하여 연구를 수행하였다. 금년은 지난해 개선된 업무들을 토대로 업무 효율성 증대를 도모하고자 한다. 현재 낙동강홍수 통제소에서 관리되고 있는 수문관측소는 239개소(수위 및 우량, 10분 단위)으로, 이들 관측소에 대한 효율적인 관리와 정확한 자료 생성을 위해서는 해당 내용에 대한 체계적이고 합리적인 관리가 필요하다. 이를 위하여 관측소 이력관리 프로그램을 시험적으로 운영을 하여 매년 실시되는 분기별 관측소 정기점검 결과를 업로드 시켜 관련 직원들이 내용을 공유할 수 있도록 추진하고 있다. 이는 수문자료의 정확한 검보정에도 활용될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 다양한 정보를 체계적으로 관리하여 향후 추가적인 업무 효율화를 위하여도 이용될 수 있을 것이다.

The Effects of Bureaucracy and Control Mechanisms Based on the Length of Relationship on Commitment and Relational Satisfaction of Franchisee (관계기간에 따른 통제기제 및 관료화가 프랜차이즈 가맹점의 결속과 관계 만족에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate three issues. First, we investigated four control mechanisms that might increase the franchisee's perception of franchiser commitment: a franchiser's TSIs, relational norms, monitoring, and qualification programs. Second, we proposed that appropriateness and efficacy of these control mechanisms in fostering franchiser commitment might be changed over the relationship life cycle. Third, we examined how bureaucracy and levels of franchiser's commitment related to relationship satisfaction. Through empirical analysis, research results indicate that a franchiser's TSIs and relational norms are positively associated with the franchisee's perception of franchiser commitment. In detail, what increase franchisee's perception of franchiser commitment in short-term relationship are franchiser's TSIs but relational norms are more important in the long-term relationship. In addition, the results show that franchisee's perception of franchiser commitment, participation and formalization are positively related to relationship satisfaction.

  • It is important to control performance and a Sustainable Collaboration (SC) for the successful Supply Chain Management (SCM). This research developed a control model which analyzed SCM performances based on a Balanced Scorecard (ESC) and an SC using Support Vector Machine (SVM). 108 specialists of an SCM completed the questionnaires. We analyzed experimental data set using SVM. This research compared the forecasting accuracy of an SCMSC through four types of SVM kernels: (1) linear, (2) polynomial (3) Radial Basis Function (REF), and (4) sigmoid kernel (linear > RBF > Sigmoid > Polynomial). Then, this study compares the prediction performance of SVM linear kernel with Artificial Neural Network. (ANN). The research findings show that using SVM linear kernel to forecast an SCMSC is the most outstanding. Thus SVM linear kernel provides a promising alternative to an SC control level. A company which pursues an SCM can use the information of an SC in the SVM model.

  • Most conventional systems of fire fighting control in a ship have been based on rule-based system in which expert knowledges are expressed with production rules. Renewing and adding of rules is needed continuously for the improvement of the system capability in an already build-up system and such adding and renewing procedures could hinder users from fluent utilization of a system. The author proposes an advanced fire fighting control intelligent system (A-FFIS) using rule-based and carte-based reasoning by clustering to implement conventional hybrid system (H-FFIS). Compared with H-FFIS, new approach with A-FFIS shows that the system proposed here improves fire detection rate and reduces fire detection time.
