Current Limit Control for a Four-quadrant Operation of SRM Drive (SRM의 4상한 구동을 위한 전류제한 방식)

  • Switched reluctance machine has much attention as a traction drive because of high efficiency, high power and DC series torque characteristics. But the motor has to have a regenerative mode when it is adopted in electric vehicle and current divergence during the regeneration makes difficulties in the control. This paper proposes a reference current limitation strategy for a stable regeneration based on simulations and experimented tests. The motor is operated with conventional current limit and switching angle control method in motoring mode. Simulations and experiments are excuted to verify the feasibility of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, 200-class insulation system for form-wound stator coils is designed for form-wound stator coils is designed for AC traction driven with VVVF inverter. Model coils are made to embody all essential elements representing a winding insulation system and structure. Acceleration degradation for model coils is applied exposure to heat(235$^{\circ}C$). In order to investigate the condition of the coils and to determine their insulation reliability, high voltage test and the dielectric properties such as dielectric loss and capacitance are performed. Also, partial discharge measurement is investigated for internal defects.

  • In this paper, The strength and driving characteristics of it were investigated according to developing the traction motor for 8200 electric locomotive series. For this purpose, Flux density strength was analyzed and then structural strength was investigated such as a stator frame, design of the rotor shaft bearing according to the design process. In addition, the traction motor operating point was analyzed according to slip frequency variation at a power source frequency. As the results of analysis on torque-speed characteristic curve, we was confirmed that traction motor was controlled as torque control prior to motor speed 1610[rpm], power control between 1610[rpm] and 2500[rpm] and breakdown torque control more than motor speed 2500[rpm].

  • With the development of high speed railway, traction motors play a critical role in the operation of railway vehicle. This paper describes the use of 1000 pF coupler as a on-line partial discharge (PD) measurement for the assessment of railway traction motor. The PD tests are performed with developed PD analyzer and the 5 model coils such as thermal, electrical, mechanical and environmental aging respectively at various AC voltages. On-line PD tests using 1000 pF couplers show that PD patterns can be detected successfully at 2.3 kV.

  • This paper deals with investigating some characteristics of the inverter-driven tractive induction motor according to the various rotor slot number. 2-D time-stepped finite element method considering the inverter voltage waveform is utilized for electromagnetic field analysis. As a result, harmonics spectra of torque and bar loss are compared in each case.

  • This paper deals with the loss distribution analysis of 250 kW traction induction motor using a coupled transient finite element method (FEM) and Preisach modeling, which is presented to analyze the characteristics under the effect of saturation and hysteresisloss. The focus of this paper is the efficiency evaluation relative to hysteresis loss, copper loss, etc. on the basis of speed condition a 250 kW Traction Induction Motor. Computer simulation and experimental result for the efficiency using dynamometer show the propriety of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we were performed a structural analysis and durability analysis for an integral frame with an axle according to development of the electric locomotive traction motor. In terms of the structural stability, as a result of the analysis modeling with coupling conditions of beam element and an alternative element of three-dimensional, the maximum von-Mises stress of the locking screw mounting frame were similar as 50MPa and 51MPa. Also A comparison of the natural frequency and the exciting frequency while driving of the electric locomotive No. 8200, the natural frequency is 627.05Hz~856.9Hz while the exciting frequency is not more than most 30Hz or 553Hz, 1110Hz. Therefore, it is possible to avoid the resonance.

  • 파워시프트는 동력전달의 단속 없이 변속할 수 있는 변속 방식이다. 기어는 동기 물림식으로 되어 있으며, 유압 클러치를 통하여 주행 중에도 동력의 흐름을 제어할 수 있다. 주요 구성 요소는 동력 흐름을 제어할 수 있는 유압 클러치와 동력을 전달하는 기어 조합이며, 유압 클러치는 피스톤, 리턴 스프링, 디스크, 플레이트 등으로 구성되어 있다. 접속 시에는 유압 피스톤이 리턴 스프링을 압축하며 전진하여 플레이트와 디스크에 수직력을 가하고 이를 결합시켜 동력을 전달한다. 해제 시에는 리턴 스프링에 의하여 피스톤이 후퇴하고 동력이 차단된다. 이때 유압 제어 시스템은 최대 견인 부하에서도 변속을 원활하게 하기 위하여, 클러치 압력을 이용해 변속 중 작동 클러치의 토크를 정교하게 제어한다.   • Aging and failure of motor insulation depend on the stresses imposed on it. The insulation life time depends on the severity of the stresses. The electrical aging by transient surge is very important to traction motor in EMU(electric multiple unit). This paper Presents the insulation characteristics of stator coil by transient surge from inverter. There are several nondestructive tests available for checking the condition of motor insulation, the probable extent of aging,. and the rate of which aging is taking pace. So the insulation characteristics of stator coil were each analyzed by measurement of leakage current, dielectric loss($tan{\delta}$), capacitance, polarization index(PI) and partial discharge. The method of diagnosis is able to analyze the aging condition and Predict the life of the traction motor in EMU.
