A Study of Player Changed-pattern Model for Game Bots Detection in MMORPG (MMORPG에서 게임 봇 프로그램 탐지를 위한 플레이어 패턴 변화 모델에 관한 연구)

  • In an online-game, the various game service victimized cases are generated by the bots program or auto program. Particularly, the abnormal collection of the game money and item loses the inherent fun of a game. It reaches ultimately the definite bad effect to the game life cycle. This paper collects and analyzes the pattern of game behavior change for the bots detection method. By using the game activity changing information of the human and game activity changing information of the bots, the degree of resemblance was measured. It utilized in the bots detection method. In an experiment, by using the served online-game, the model of a user and bots were generated and similarity was distinguished. And the reasonable result was confirmed.

  • The Management of Game Money in online game is considered as a crucial factor for successful game business as well as balancing game economy. The generation and flow of game money have a strong relationship with game contents, entertainment factors, game planning and level design. This paper explores online game economy in various ways especially the matter about managing & controlling game money in this context through theoretical and practical perspectives. It also examines how this management makes an effect on 'Free to Pay' policy and Sales revenue. Finally, this paper draws conclusions about the Management of Game Money which can be considered to be practically useful for game development and management. I hope that the study helps further studies and researches and can be served as a foundation regarding the issue.

  • This study examined to the aspects of capital and class structure, focusing on 'Reproduction' of Bourdieu, P, through collecting the post titles of the game community of online FPS games 'Overwatch' and 'Battleground', related to keyword, 'Game Hack'. The data used in the study was collected and refined through the statistical program R and analyzed by the analysis site 'Bigkinds'. At results, we will reveal that the class structure of the online FPS gamer group is based on cultural capital and reproduction, and suggest the right direction for the Game Hack regulation policy from the point of view of the cultural capital theory.

  • Recently, research on augmented games as a new game genre has attracted a lot of attention. An augmented game overlaps virtual objects in an augmented reality(AR) environment, allowing game players to interact with the AR environment through manipulating real and virtual objects. However, it is difficult to release existing augmented games to ordinary game players, as the games generally use very expensive and inconvenient 'backpack' systems: To solve this problem, several augmented games have been proposed using mobile devices equipped with cameras, but it can be only enjoyed at a previously-installed location, as a ‘color marker' or 'pattern marker’ is used to overlap the virtual object with the real environment. Accordingly, this paper introduces an augmented game, called augmented galaga based on traditional well-known galaga, executed on mobile devices to make game players experience the game without any economic burdens. Augmented galaga uses real object in real environments, and uses scale-invariant features(SIFT), and Euclidean distance to recognize the real objects. The virtural aliens are randomly appeared around the specific objects, several specific objects are used to improve the interest aspect, andgame players attack the virtual aliens by moving the mobile devices towards specific objects and clicking a button of mobile devices. As a result, we expect that augmented galaga provides an exciting experience without any economic burdens for players based on the game paradigm, where the user interacts with both the physical world captured by a mobile camera and the virtual aliens automatically generated by a mobile devices.

Motion Based Serious Game Using Spatial Information of Game and Web-cam (웹캠과 공간정보를 이용한 체감형 기능성게임)

  • Motion based serious game is a new style of game and exercise using hands, arms, head and whole body. At that time gamer's reachable movement space is an important game space and interaction happening place. We propose efficient game spatial division and analysis algorithm that gives special information for collision avoidance of game objects. We devide into 9 parts of game space and check the enemy position and upper, down, left and right side movement information of gamer and calculate optimal path for collide avoidance of the enemy. To evaluate the method, we implemented a motion base serious game that consists of a web cam, a player, an enemy, and we obtained some valid results of our method for the collision avoidance. The resole demonstrated that the proposed approach is robust. If movement information is in front of enemy, then the enemy waits and finds the place and runs to avoid collision. This algorithm can be used basic development of level control and effective interaction method for motion based serious game.

The Study of Bot Program Detection based on User Behavior in Online Game Environment (온라인 게임 환경에서 사용자 행위 정보에 기반한 봇 프로그램 탐지 기법 연구)

  • Recently, online-game industry has been rapidly expanding in these days. But, the various game service victimized cases are generated by the bots program. In this paper, we propose a Bots detection method by observing the playing patterns of game characters with game log data. It analyzed behaviors of human players as well as bots and identified features to build the model to differentiate bots from human players. In an experiment, by using the served online-game, the model of a user and bots were generated was distinguished. And the reasonable result was confirmed.

  • 요즘 사람들이 많이 즐기는 전략 게임은 전략 시뮬레이션이라는 말이 무색할 정도로 장르가 가지는 특성 을 이행하지 못하고 있다. 그래서 게이머들은 별다른 전략 없이 쉽게 컴퓨터를 상대로 쉽게 게임을 승리 할 수 있게 됐다. 이것은 게임의 재미를 크게 반감시키는 한 요인이 된다. 전략 게임의 컴퓨터 플레이어에게 상황 판단과 학습 능력을 갖게 하면, 게이머가 보다 재미있게 컴퓨터와 대전을 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 인공지능을 가지는 컴퓨터 플레이어에 사용될 Default 추론 엔진과 컴퓨터 플레이어의 작전과 행동을 결정하기 위한 action & strategy generator 시스템을 연구한다. Default 추론 엔진은 귀납적 학습방법을 통 해서 컴퓨터 플레이어가 추론 및 학습을 할 수 있는 정보를 생성하게 된다. 이렇게 생성된 정보를 바탕으로 컴퓨터 캐릭터의 행동과 전략을 결정한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 전략 게임에 인공 지능으로 machine leaning 기법 중의 하나인 decision Tree 틀 사용하였다. decision Tree를 적용하여 기존 컴퓨터 플레이어의 행위와 어떻게 다른지 차별성을 밝혀내고, 컴퓨터 플레이어가 향상된 전략을 구사할 수 있게 하는 것이 주된 목표다.
