A Development of Metadata Integration Management System for Serious Game (기능성게임 메타데이터 통합관리시스템 개발)

  • During the past 10 years, serious game industry has been growing steadily. But the system which could stably and reliably provide metadata information and quality information related to serious game remained unexploited. Existing systems only support the basic management functions of metadata search centered. Therefore, we have developed an integrated system to manage the quality information of serious game as well as to improve the inconvenient details of the existing systems. And we designed quality evaluation elements and quality information supply-methods, and linked up them to the system. Furthermore, we conducted user's satisfaction assessment survey on the use of the system. The advantage of the system is that the system provide a lot of useful information for general users and developers, and support a tool to manage all information related to serious game by easy and convenient method for managers.

  • This paper researches on the cases wherein the concept of gamification is applied to branded content. Gamification is the application of game elements to non-game fields, and it is being actively utilized in the areas of education, marketing, medical, sports, and shopping. Especially, the concept of gamification is applied to branded content and wherein marketing (advertisements) are expanded into entertainment content. This paper studies the methods on how the concept of gamification affects marketing, and application in the expansion of branded content into entertainment content. To achieve this, this paper looked into the concepts and characteristics of gamification and branded content, and analyzed the methods on how the elements of game (goal, competition, feedback, reward) were applied to five kinds of real cases. Finally, this paper verified that gamification is an efficient method of extending branded content into entertainment content.

  • The purpose of this study was to find the effective way of composition in terms of UX(user experience) when configuring UI(user interface) of educational game by utilizing ET(eye-tracking). Experimental material was a game related to the middle school 'force and motion'. SMI (SensoMotoric Instruments)' iView X TM RED was used in order to collect eye movement data. The results of this study was as follows. First, the lead element for fast visual attention should be placed in the center when the educational game UI is configured. Second, burton that changes character's features and the information about them should be placed close to each other. Third, learning quiz caught visual attention faster when it was placed on the left side of UI. Fourth, when one UI was overlapped by another, parts that were not overlapped was fixated, too.

  • It takes quite amount of time to study a board game because there are many game characters and different stages are exist for board games. Also, the opponent is not just a single character that means it is not one on one game, but group vs. group. That is why strategy is needed, and therefore applying optimum learning is a must. This paper used reinforcement learning algorithm for board characters to learn, and so they can move intelligently. If there were equal result that both are considered to be best ones during the course of learning stage, Heuristic which utilizes learning of problem area of Jul-Gonu was used to improve the speed of learning. To compare a normal character to an improved one, a board game was created, and then they fought against each other. As a result, improved character's ability was far more improved on learning speed.

  • This paper is re-lighting(reputation) that Ki-saeng is a artist in Chosun age to concern with history, social lives, role, art school of Ki-saeng and Ki-saeng and also is re-light and analysis educate system, rules, curriculum, time table of teaching, graduated album, photos of art school of Pyongyang Ki-saeng. And the using these traditional culture materials of Ki-saeng can create various digital contents of game contents, animation, drama, film and characters. Specially, it is propose to use culture contents that creation and pick out of beauty, talent, social system and art school of Ki-saeng in Chosun age willing to use concept design, scenario of game, animation, drama and film etc.

  • The purpose of this paper is to suggest one of effective online questionnaire methods by using web based games. The research examines the interrelation between space design element and emotion language in the background actually used in the web games, and suggests new questionnaire methods to overcome the problems of the insincere answers which is the limitation of online questionnaire methods. The paper is to examine the related references, and compare the merits and demerits between printed and online text based questionnaires. Then it suggests the on-line questionnaire methods based web games which can improve errors of the demerits. The emotional words and phrases database is embodied by the interrelation between the emotional words and four spaces such as a dwelling, a tradition, a commerce and a fantasy based on the position decision value of Gaussian distribution. The paper suggests to be utilized for a population calculability system such as a consumers preference test.

Translation Techniques for Mobile Games (모바일 게임을 위한 번역 기법)

  • In the mobile gaming market, it is desirable for a specific content to be served on various platforms. Recently, it is a very important issue in the market for mobile games. This problem incurs extra cost, because we need to redevelop existing contents to be executed on another platforms. Moreover, the release of a new platform has spent much more effort and cost developing many contents in short period of time. Therefore, we need to research about translation techniques that enable the existing contents to run on a different platform. In this paper, we propose translation techniques for mobile games. The techniques can be applied on converting mobile contents to runnable contents on a new platform. To realize it, we design and implement a source-level contents translator which is targeting Android platform using the suggested techniques. Our source-level contents translator is implemented systematically by applying compiler theory. Also, we solve partially translation problems between different programming languages. The translator has been implemented separately divided into three tasks such as kernel porting, library mapping as well as language translation. We expect these techniques to increase utilization of existing mobile games and contribute to vitalizations of mobile contents industry.

The Influences of Personal Characteristics and Betting Games on Problem Gambling among Out-of-school Adolescents in South Korea (학교 밖 청소년의 개인 특성 및 돈내기 게임 경험이 문제도박에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was the first attempt to investigate which factors influence problem gambling among out-of-school adolescents in South Korea. Using data from the 2015 Survey on Youth Gambling Problems, this study examined the influences of personal characteristics and betting games on problem gambling among out-of-school adolescents. Regression analyses of personal characteristics on problem gambling showed that being male adolescents, having more allowance, living without parents/guardians, or belonging to probation was associated with higher likelihood of doing problem gambling among out-of-school adolescents. Also, regression analyses of betting games on problem gambling revealed that doing betting games more frequently, doing betting games more time, or spending more money on betting games was associated with higher likelihood of doing problem gambling among out-of-school adolescents. Based on the findings, this study suggested practice and policy implications for addressing problem gambling among out-of-school adolescents.

  • Today the Internet is being used in all areas. However, part of everyday life, the lack of ethics on the Internet, the Internet lies in state. Especially the youth, should exploit the anonymity. As a result, has caused many problems. Fps online game from young people enjoy the use of profanity and slang, and increasing the damage of cyber violence has also increased. The damage type of cyber violence, abusive and slang, and the age, the lower the investigation was to increase the damage. Lot of publicity and public service advertising is in progress in order to prevent problems, but its expected effects is lacking. In addition, using abusive and slang words, This is a fundamental and provide a service to handle deleted or blinds, but if you can not see the solution. In this paper suggests the language convert that can be applied to Fps online games. Language the conversion process, if applicable to the game, the abusive and slang language, helps to purify. Proposed language the conversion process is expected to reduce cyber violence used abusive and slang.

  • The purpose of this study was to research on the relationship of Internet Game Addiction to Psycho-emotional Variables(self-identity, depression, meaning of life). The cross-sectional descriptive study design was used. We selected 275 adults through randomised sampling and analysis the result by chi-square test and hierarchial regression method. The result of this study was as follows; The effects of personal characteristics to Internet Game Addiction was sex, age, smoking and family including social characteristics were level of mother's education, father's education, and family economic status in a row. The relationship of Internet Game Addiction to Psycho-Emotional Variables were self-identity and depression. Therefore we suggest that the practical support system for 20's age adult to increase the self-identity and decrease the depression will be applied.
