  • User interface design environment has been known to be part of important elements in user experience and play, and its significance of functionalities are growing bigger each year. In present day, use of intuitive user interface design are on demand. Player can expect to get a new experience that they can not get from other exiting or similar form of games. For the better user experience, essential use of intuitive game play is necessary along with its perceptive user interface. This paper describes intuitive game environment design which will enhance user experience with use of brainwave signal for Brain Computer Interface.

Development of User Interface for Motion-based Screen Sports Game (체감형 스크린 스포츠 게임 유저 인터페이스 개발)

  • The screen sports game is a motion-based game developed by combining the PC game and the sensor so that the user can directly participate in the game. Following screen golf, which was very popular in the 2000s, screen baseball has been on the rise since 2016. Most of the games released today employ the interface of traditional PC games. However, there is a need for a method that allows the user to manipulate the screen baseball in a more intuitive manner. In this study, we utilize a Kiosk independent of the game, which enables users to intervene naturally without disturbing the flow of the game. Such a Kiosk-based interface results in increased immersion in the game.

Effects of Online Game Users' Need for Affect and Social Norms on their Attitude and Flow Experience (온라인 게임 이용자의 감정욕구와 사회규범 인식이 게임에 대한 태도 및 몰입에 미치는 영향)

  • The study took online game users' need for affect (approach/avoidance) and social norms (subjective/descriptive) into account and examined how these variables affected their attitude (utilitarian/hedonic) toward online games and their flow experience. Results from the hierarchical multiple regression analysis showed that, game users' approach affect and subjective norm had significant impacts on their utilitarian attitude, while their approach/avoidance affect and subjective norm had on their hedonic attitude toward onine games. Plus, the avoidance affect, subjective norm, and utilitarian/hedonic attitudes of game users had significant impacts on their flow experience.

  • 아두이노[1]와 라즈베리파이[2]의 개발 이후로 누구나 쉽게 인터랙티브 장비를 만들어보고 여러 프로젝트를 진행할 수 있게 되었다. 그리고 대표적인 게임 엔진으로 뽑히고 있는 유니티 (Unity)[3]와 언리얼 엔진 (Unreal Engine)[4] 덕분에 컴퓨터 전공자가 아니더라도 게염을 쉽게 만들 수 있는 시대가 되었다. 본 프로젝트에서는 아두이노를 이용한 인터랙티브 장비를 만들어보고 개발한 장비를 활용하여 플레이 할 수 있는 게임을 유니티로 제작하였으며 이를 어떠한 분야에 활용하면 긍정적인 효과를 줄 수 있을지에 대해서 고찰하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 EMOTIV사의 뇌파 측정기 EPOC을 통한 뇌파의 측정과 이를 활용한 게임 시나리오를 제안한다. 이 방안은 다소 복잡하고 어려운 뇌파의 측정과 활용을 EMOTIV사에서 제공하는 응용 프로그램을 이용하여 쉽게 뇌파를 측정하고 이를 실시간으로 아케이드 게임 시나리오와 연동이 가능하게 한다. EPOC Control Panel을 통해 뇌파의 측정 및 훈련을 하고 윈도우상의 키보드 값에 대응 시켜 여러 가지 활용이 가능하다.

Survey on computer use of early childhood (영유아 컴퓨터 활용 실태조사)

  • 본 논문은 영유아들의 컴퓨터 활용 실태를 알아보기 위하여 컴퓨터 사용 형황을 성별 및 연령별로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구 대상은 1세에서 7세의 영유아들로 김포시 K대학의 유아교육과 학생들이 직접 영유아 교육기관을 방문하여 영유아들을 직접 면담하면서 설문지를 작성하였다. 분석에 이용된 대상은 남아가 177명으로 46,8%, 여아가 201명으로 53.2% 총378명의 설문지를 사용하였으며 조사 결과 남아보다 여아가 한글 읽기와 쓰기, 숫자 활동, 외국어나 음악 미술 활동 등의 교육적 목적으로 활용하는 경우가 더 많았고 만화 영화나 게임, 인터넷 검색 등에서는 남아의 활용 비율이 더 높게 나타났다. 연령별로는 1-3세에서는 한글 읽기와 쓰기가 22명(51.2%)를 차지하였고 4-5세에서는 한글 읽기와 쓰기는 28명(28.3%), 그 다음이 게임으로 22명(22.2%)로 나타났고 6-7세에서는 한글 읽기와 쓰기가 54명(22.8%), 게임이 51명(21.6%)으로 비슷하게 나타났고 그 다음이 만화영화 보기로 47명(19.9%)로 나타났다.

An Analysis of the Influence Factors on Perceived Value and Loyalty of On-line Game User in China (중국 온라인 게임 이용자의 인지가치 및 충성도 영향요인에 관한 연구)

  • For the rapid growth of Chinese on-line game market in this decade, it became more necessary to study Chinese on-line game industry, business strategy, and, especially the behavioral characteristics of on-line game users. In spite of these necessities, there were a few studies on these research fields in China. The current study investigated the relationships among perceived price, perceived quality, the flow, perceived value, and loyalty of Chinese on-line game user. In addition, we tested the influence factors on perceived value and game user loyalty of on-line game user through AMOS method. Results showed that perceived value and game loyalty are positively related perceived price and the flow, the flow and perceived value respectively.

  • what is the elements letting users play games consistently other than the growth of the computer technology? What sort of elements can games give to control the balances in the various features of users? The subject of this study was set up for these questions. Examining the result of this study, the analysis of the types of individual characteristics as well as their preferences of playing games in the level of game design in the process of game development can be utilized as a fundamental data for the design of game contents based on user's propensity. Also it can provide the most effective method for controlling the balance of the game world. Moreover, it can be utilized to set up directions for updating the games based on user's propensity. If it can be counted for the potential users' preferences, the result of analysis of individual characteristic would act as good basic data for the balancing of game among various types of users.

Longitudinal Trajectories of Computer Game Use among School Age Children: Using Latent Class Growth Model (학령기 아동의 게임 사용시간 변화궤적 분석 : 잠재계층성장분석(LCGM)을 활용하여)

  • This study aimed to explore the trajectories of computer game use of school age children and to identify the related predictors. The data for this study used Korean Children and Youth Panel data covering from the second year to the sixth year of elementary school. A total of 1,959 participants were analyzed. Latent class growth model was employed to explore the trajectories of computer game use and multinomial logistic regression was conducted to identify the significant predictors. Main results indicated that three types of trajectories were identified: low game using group, high initial using-fluctuating group, and high increasing game using group. Each group was found to be associated deferentially with sex, aggression, attention deficit, main caregiver's education, siblings, parent absence after-school, neglecting, family income, family trip, school grades, and peer relationship. Based on these findings, this study emphasized the importance of predictive intervention for the game user among early school age children and suggested useful practical strategies.
