  • Musculoskeletal disease is often caused by sitting down for long period's time or by bad posture habits. In order to prevent musculoskeletal disease in daily life, it is the most important to correct the bad sitting posture to the right one through real-time monitoring. In this study, to detect the sitting information of user's without any constraints, we propose posture measurement system based on multi-channel pressure sensor and CNN model for classifying sitting posture types. The proposed CNN model can analyze 5 types of sitting postures based on sitting posture information. For the performance assessment of posture classification CNN model through field test, the accuracy, recall, precision, and F1 of the classification results were checked with 10 subjects. As the experiment results, 99.84% of accuracy, 99.6% of recall, 99.6% of precision, and 99.6% of F1 were verified.

  • In this paper, a vehicle license plate detection scheme is proposed that uses the spatial attention areas to detect accurately the license plates in various real-road situations. First, the previous WPOD-NET was analyzed, and its detection accuracy is evaluated as lower due to the unnecessary noises in the wide detection candidate areas. To resolve this problem, a vehicle license plate detection model is proposed that uses the candidate area of the license plate as a spatial attention areas. And we compared its performance to that of the WPOD-NET, together with the case of using the optimal spatial attention areas using the ground truth data. The experimental results show that the proposed model has about 20% higher detection accuracy than the original WPOD-NET since the proposed scheme uses tight detection candidate areas.

  • An effective real time fault diagnosis approach for UAV engine is drawn from IMM filter and GLRT methods. For this purpose based on the linear diagnosis model derived from engine dynamic performance analysis the Kalman filter for residual estimation and each method are applied to the fault diagosis of the actuator for engine control sensors. From the process of the IMM filter application the effective FDI measure is obtained and the state responses due to actuator fault are estimated. Likewise from the GLRT method the fault magnitudes of actuator and sensors are estimated associated with some FDI functionings. The numerical simulations verify the effectiveness of the IMM filter for FDI and the GLRT in estimating the fault magnitudes of each fault mode.

  • As deep learning technology advances and various high-resolution remote sensing images are available, interest in using deep learning technology and remote sensing big data to detect buildings and change in urban areas is increasing significantly. In this paper, for semantic building segmentation of high-resolution remote sensing images, we propose a new building segmentation model, Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM)-DRUNet that uses the DeepResUNet model, which has excellent performance in building segmentation, as the basic structure, improves the residual learning unit and combines a CBAM with the basic structure. In the performance evaluation using WHU dataset and INRIA dataset, the proposed building segmentation model showed excellent performance in terms of F1 score, accuracy and recall compared to ResUNet and DeepResUNet including UNet.

  • Arrhythmia is a condition in which the heart has an irregular rhythm or abnormal heart rate, early diagnosis and management is very important because it can cause stroke, cardiac arrest, or even death. In this paper, we propose arrhythmia classification using hybrid combination model of CNN-BLSTM. For this purpose, the QRS features are detected from noise removed signal through pre-processing and a single bit segment was extracted. In this case, the GAN oversampling technique is applied to solve the data imbalance problem. It consisted of CNN layers to extract the patterns of the arrhythmia precisely, used them as the input of the BLSTM. The weights were learned through deep learning and the learning model was evaluated by the validation data. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, classification accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score were compared by using the MIT-BIH arrhythmia database. The achieved scores indicate 99.30%, 98.70%, 97.50%, 98.06% in terms of the accuracy, precision, recall, F1 score, respectively.

  • Recently, research has been actively conducted on the technology of inspection facilities through image-based analysis assessment of human-inaccessible facilities. This research was conducted to study the conditions of deep learning-based imaging data on bridges and to develop an evaluation prototype program for bridges. To develop a deep learning-based bridge damage detection prototype, the Semantic Segmentation model, which enables damage detection and quantification among deep learning models, applied Mask-RCNN and constructed learning data 5,140 (including open-data) and labeling suitable for damage types. As a result of performance modeling verification, precision and reproduction rate analysis of concrete cracks, stripping/slapping, rebar exposure and paint stripping showed that the precision was 95.2 %, and the recall was 93.8 %. A 2nd performance verification was performed on onsite data of crack concrete using damage rate of bridge members.

  • To accurately identify black ice and warn the drivers of information in advance so they can control speed and take preventive measures. In this paper, we propose a lightweight black ice detection network based on infrared road images. A black ice recognition network model based on CNN transfer learning has been developed. Additionally, to further improve the accuracy of black ice recognition, an enhanced lightweight network based on MobileNetV2 has been developed. To reduce the amount of calculation, linear bottlenecks and inverse residuals was used, and four bottleneck groups were used. At the same time, to improve the recognition rate of the model, each bottleneck group was connected to a 3×3 convolutional layer to enhance regional feature extraction and increase the number of feature maps. Finally, a black ice recognition experiment was performed on the constructed infrared road black ice dataset. The network model proposed in this paper had an accurate recognition rate of 99.07% for black ice.

  • Image labeling must be preceded in order to perform object detection, and this task is considered a significant burden in building a deep learning model. Tens of thousands of images need to be trained for building a deep learning model, and human labelers have many limitations in labeling these images manually. In order to overcome these difficulties, this study proposes a method to perform object detection without significant performance degradation, even though labeling some images rather than the entire image. Specifically, in this study, low-resolution oriental painting images are converted into high-quality images using a super-resolution algorithm, and the effect of SSIM and PSNR derived in this process on the mAP of object detection is analyzed. We expect that the results of this study can contribute significantly to constructing deep learning models such as image classification, object detection, and image segmentation that require efficient image labeling.

  • In this paper, we propose the Deep Learning-Based Companion Animal Abnormal Behavior Detection Service, which using video and sensor data. Due to the recent increase in households with companion animals, the pet tech industry with artificial intelligence is growing in the existing food and medical-oriented companion animal market. In this study, companion animal behavior was classified and abnormal behavior was detected based on a deep learning model using various data for health management of companion animals through artificial intelligence. Video data and sensor data of companion animals are collected using CCTV and the manufactured pet wearable device, and used as input data for the model. Image data was processed by combining the YOLO(You Only Look Once) model and DeepLabCut for extracting joint coordinates to detect companion animal objects for behavior classification. Also, in order to process sensor data, GAT(Graph Attention Network), which can identify the correlation and characteristics of each sensor, was used.

  • As South Korea enters the realm of an super-aging society, the demand for elderly welfare services has been steadily rising. However, the current shortage of welfare personnel has emerged as a social issue. To address this challenge, there is active research underway on elderly care robots designed to mitigate the social isolation of the elderly and provide emergency contact capabilities in critical situations. Nonetheless, these functionalities require direct user contact, which represents a limitation of conventional elderly care robots. In this paper, we propose a solution to overcome these challenges by introducing a care robot system capable of interacting with users without the need for direct physical contact. This system leverages commercialized elderly care robots and cameras. We have equipped the care robot with an edge device that incorporates facial expression recognition and action recognition models. The models were trained and validated using public available data. Experimental results demonstrate high accuracy rates, with facial expression recognition achieving 96.5% accuracy and action recognition reaching 90.9%. Furthermore, the inference times for these processes are 50ms and 350ms, respectively. These findings affirm that our proposed system offers efficient and accurate facial and action recognition, enabling seamless interaction even in non-contact situations.
