Development of X-ray Detector using Liquid Crystal with Front Light (전면광원(Front Light)을 적용한 액정 X선 검출기 개발)

  • The X-ray detector by liquid crystal with front light was proposed and verified by a X-ray image. The proposed detector utilizes the visible light instead of the electric signal by transistor. Therefore, it shows low noise and can be fabricated at low cost. The liquid crystal detector uses the orientation change of the liquid crystal molecule by conductivity change of the photoconductive layer. We can get the X-ray image from the transmitted light through the liquid crystal. The X-ray dose was calibrated from the measured transmittance of the visible light after comparison to the reference transmittance curve of the liquid crystal. The amorphous Se was used for photo con ducting layer and parylene was used for the liquid crystal alignment instead of the conventional alignment layer which needs high-temperature process over 200℃. The proposed X-ray detector can decrease the X-ray dose by high sensitivity which was verified by simulation. After the fabrication of the X-ray detector, the X-ray image was obtained as a function of the bias voltage to the liquid crystal. 10 lines/mm resolution was obtained from the line pattern and we will apply it to the 17inch diagonal liquid crystal X-ray detector with 3π retardation.

Bolt-Loosening Detection using Vision-Based Deep Learning Algorithm and Image Processing Method (영상기반 딥러닝 및 이미지 프로세싱 기법을 이용한 볼트풀림 손상 검출)

  • In this paper, a vision-based deep learning algorithm and image processing method are proposed to detect bolt-loosening in steel connections. To achieve this objective, the following approaches are implemented. First, a bolt-loosening detection method that includes regional convolutional neural network(RCNN)-based deep learning algorithm and Hough line transform(HLT)-based image processing algorithm are designed. The RCNN-based deep learning algorithm is developed to identify and crop bolts in a connection image. The HLT-based image processing algorithm is designed to estimate the bolt angles from the cropped bolt images. Then, the proposed vision-based method is evaluated for verifying bolt-loosening detection in a lab-scale girder connection. The accuracy of the RCNN-based bolt detector and HLT-based bolt angle estimator are examined with respect to various perspective distortions.

Design of the Rain Sensor using a Coaxial Cavity Resonator (동축 공동 공진기를 이용한 물방울 감지 센서 설계에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper the water sensor using a coaxial cavity resonator is designed and manufactured. The water sensor which can sense water drop linearly has been constructed with voltage controlled oscillator(VCO), coaxial cavity resonator, RF switch, RF detector, A/D converter, DAC and micro controller. The operating frequency range of the designed water sensor is from 2.5GHz to 3.2GHz and the input voltage and current source are 24[V/DC] and 1[A]. The designed sensor circuit includes VCO, RF switch, RF detector which varies the frequency characteristics of the devices in the high frequency of 3GHz. And so we should correct the error of the frequency characteristics of those devices in the sensor circuit. To do this, we make the reference path which switches the signals to the RF detector directly without sending it to the resonator. According to the result of simulation and measurement, we can see that there is 0-50MHz difference between simulated resonator frequency and manufactured resonator frequency.

  • 네트워크 분석기를 이용하여 GIS용 UHF 부분방전 검출장치가 CIGRE 권고안을 만족시킴을 보일 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다. 이 방법은 운전중인 GIS에서도 활용이 가능하며 주파수 영역에서 GIS 내 부분방전신호의 감쇠율을 정확히 측정할 수 있고 측정 시스템의 개별부품에 대한 교정이 필요치 않다. 또한 측정한 GIS의 구간별 감쇠율을 이용해 센서의 종류와 부분방전검출장치 및 GIS의 구성에 따라 센서의 위치를 손쉽게 결정할 수 있다.

In Vivo Dosimetry with MOSFET Detector during Radiotherapy (방사선 치료 중 MOSFET 검출기를 이용한 체표면 선량측정법)

  • In Vivo dosimetry is a method to evaluate the radiotherapy; it is used to find the dosimetric and mechanical errors of radiotherapy unit. In this study, on-line In Vivo dosimetry was enabled by measuring the skin dose with MOSFET detectors attached to patient's skin during treatment. MOSFET dosimeters were found to be reproducible and independent on beam directions. MOSFET detectors were positioned on patient's skin underneath of the dose build-up material which was used to minimize dosimetric error. Delivered dose calculated by the plan verification function embedded in the radiotherapy treatment planning system (RTPs), was compared with measured data point by point. The dependency of MOSFET detector used in this study for energy and dose rate agrees with the specification provided by manufacturer within 2% error. Comparing the measured and the calculated point doses of each patient, discrepancy was within 5%. It was enabled to verify the IMRT by using MOSFET detector. However, skin dosimetry using conventional ion chamber and diode detector is limited to the simple radiotherapy.

Context Based Real-time Korean Writing Correction for Foreigners (외국인 학습자를 위한 문맥 기반 실시간 국어 문장 교정)

  • Educating foreigners in Korean language is attracting increasing attention with the growing number of foreigners who want to learn Korean or want to reside in Korea. Existing spell checkers mostly focus on native Korean speakers, so they are inappropriate for foreigners. In this paper, we propose a correction method for the Korean language that reflects the contextual characteristics of Korean and writing characteristics of foreigners. Our method can extract frequently used expressions by Koreans by constructing syllable reverse-index for eojeol bi-gram extracted from corpus as correction candidates, and generate ranked Korean corrections for foreigners with upgraded edit distance calculation. Our system provides a user interface based on keyboard hooking, so a user can easily use the correction system along with other applications. Our system improves the detection rate for foreign language users by about 45% compared to other systems in foreign language writing environments. This will help foreign users to judge and correct their own writing errors.

Development of Dual-mode Signal Processing Module for Multi-slit Prompt-gamma Camera (다중 슬릿 즉발감마선 카메라를 위한 이중모드 신호처리 모듈 개발)

  • In proton therapy, in vivo proton beam range verification is very important to deliver conformal dose to the target volume and minimize unnecessary dose to normal tissue. For this purpose, a multi-slit prompt-gamma camera module made of 24 scintillation detectors and 24-channel signal processing system is under development. In the present study, we have developed and tested a dual-mode signal processing system, which can operate in the energy calibration mode and the fast data acquisition mode, to process the signals from the 24 scintillation detectors. As a result of performance test, using the energy calibration mode, we were able to perform energy calibration for the 24 scintillation detectors at the same time and determine the discrimination levels for the detector channels. Further, using the fast data acquisition mode, we were able to measure a prompt-gamma distribution induced by a 45 MeV proton beam. The measured prompt gamma distribution was found similar to the proton dose distribution at the distal fall-off region, and the estimated beam range was $17.13{\pm}0.76mm$, which is close to the proton beam range of 16.15 mm measured by an EBT film.

  • 코헤런트 라만분광학 실험에 사용할 다중채널 데이터 수집과 제어장치를 제작하고 프로그램을 개발하였다. CARS 신호를 규격화하기 위해 두 레이저의 세기를 측정하기 위해 최대값 검출기를 제작하였고, 제작한 로직제어기를 프로그램으로 제어하여 측정을 동기시켰다. 또한 우라늄 음극전구의 optogalvanic 신호를 측정하여 섹소레이저의 파장을 교정할 수 있었다. 프로그램은 매뉴선택방식으로 작성하여 수정과 사용이 용이하도록 하였다. 실제로 압력이 100 Torr 인 질소의 CARS 신호를 측정하여 이 장치의 유용성을 확인하였다.

  • 번역 품질 예측은 기계번역 시스템이 생성한 번역문의 품질을 정답 번역문을 참고하지 않고 예측하는 과정으로, 번역문의 사후 교정을 위한 번역 오류 검출의 역할을 담당하는 중요한 연구이다. 본 논문은 문장 수준의 번역 품질 예측 문제를 HTER 구간의 분류 문제로 간주하여, 번역 품질 말뭉치의 HTER 분포 불균형으로 인한 성능 제약을 완화하기 위해 인조 사후 교정 말뭉치를 이용하는 방법을 제안하였다. 결과적으로 HTER 분포를 균등하게 조정한 학습 말뭉치가 그렇지 않은 쪽에 비해 번역 품질 예측에 더 효과적인 것을 보였다.
